Reserve Collection: Jonquille de Nuit

After having shown TF the cold shoulder kind of, I have to say you should never say never ;) In the past few years I have tried several of the more famous TF scens, like 'Noir de Noir', 'Tuscan Leather' and the like and always found them way too much in your face, overwhelming if not even annoying, and one of my personal nightmare scents remains 'Black Orchid' which just smelle awful to me. Not really willing to try more TF scents I recently came across two of the privae blends, one being 'Jasmin Rouge' and the other 'Jonquille de Nuit' And what can I say, I love them both to my own surprise. 'Tronquille de Nuit' being the heavier one I have to say I have never smelled are more realistic perfume capturing a night blooming, exotic garden. It is like being on a remote island, the jungle at night and you are there when every single, sweet alluring flower is blossoming at that moment. I do smell narcissus and angelica, but I do also smell traces of jasmine, tuberose and altogether a mixture of many tropical flowers together with the scent of the plants itself, the green, the leaves. As I said it is a heavy scent and is easily too much, but if you spray the scent as a fog in the air and just let that scent fog sink onto your skin, it smells fanatastic and you get even more notes than just spraying a strong sprizz on one place. For lovers of real flower scents I'd defintely recommend a test!

I love this perfume so much I broke down and bought it. I agree 100% with the review below mine. So sophisticated, elegant. Could be a signature. Reminds me of the very distant past. Longevity isn't the best so I layer this with a dupe oil from generic perfumes a Kuwait brand, that has excellent customer service BTW. Smells exactly the same but increases longevity and sillage of the original. I wonder if narcissus does better as a note in an oil format? . Every narcissus fragrance I try the narcissus note is fleeting in alcohol format. My bottle of Ivy tower from Providence perfume company is an oil and the narcissus in that is strong and lasts. That is a much greener fragrance than this one because of the combination of narcissus, chamomile and ivy. Charna the perfumer and owner of that brand says some plant extracts work better and last longer in oil format. Narcissus must be one of those notes that keeps better in oil. If you own this already I highly recommend getting the oil from Generic perfumes in Kuwait. They ship world wide. Compliments beautifully.

It is very beautiful, sophisticated, and elegant fragrance. It is powdery and green but very balanced. The fragrance having narcissus tend to be super green or too mature outdated old scent (e.g., Vol de nuit by Guerlain). However, this is what Tom Ford exactly should have been. It is only available at Harrods Salon de Parfum 6th floor. I love this scent, however, longevity and silage are not great.

Another of the recently released, inflated price, fragrances from TF. I had never smelt the original release, so was quite excited to test this out. Unfortunately this was a no go for me. The initial 30 minutes is an unbalanced blend of heady, polleny florals with amber that then dries down to a "not too sweet" floral. To be fair, I haven't come across anything else like it - and I can definitely see how some people would love this - a unique floral that does smell expensive.

I was pleasantly surprised by this. The bouquet of florals is very realistic and even has the earthiness of freshy cut flowers. May be one of the best of its class I’ve tried. Projection and performance is very good as well. Will definitely make someone happy.
