Tom Ford for Men Extreme

Ingenius, simply ingenius! In all my years of smelling fragrances, I had yet to come across a scent like this. Tom Ford For Men Extreme was a creation that I was well aware of its existence and often times saw for sale in retail stores and even online back in the day. For some reason, it never caught my attention to test out and neither did its older brother For Men, before I tested that one out afterwards in a sample. A quick note also is that this was absolutely 100% made in 100ml bottles. Apart from me seeing it with my own eyes back then, some others also have mentioned this. According to my research and feedback, it seems this fragrance was supposed to be a limited edition release and the 100ml bottles were firstly made and given as a gift from the brand to their most valuable clientel since it was among their first male fragrance releases. These versions also contained no batch codes. They were then sold for a limited time in selected Tom Ford boutiques and Sephora in the U.S. and France. As of now I tested almost every male offering from the signature line and none really did it for me, which made me think how overhyped TF as a brand really might be. Still, I came across a sealed bottle of the For Men Extreme for a reasonable price and decided why not. Seeing as how rare it is, it could always be sold off again. I received the bottle, opened it and tested it out in the air first as I always do. My goodness..wauw..the opening was true bliss! So strange to say this, though it was as if I instantly knew I needed something like this in my life and was waiting for its arrival without even having smelled it before. It's not easy to describe, but in the opening you get a blast of fruitiness combined with the smell of cold clean dirt that's surrounded by a mild spiciness. This would probably be mainly the truffle, plum and fig added with mainly the cinnamon, saffron and cardamom in a cozy style. I also get a very slight berry like type of a scent done in the most chique way possible. Might just be the combo of the above mentioned notes that gives that vibe off. It dries down very quickly from here and goes mainly to the caramel, vanilla, rum and a little bit left of the cinnamon. Now the downside of this fragrance is the performance unfortunately. I have read some mixed reviews about this. My experience is that it quickly causes nose fatigue. There is something in this that makes you not smell the top and mid anymore after a few minutes, but when not paying attention, the top and mid notes make themselves known again very elegantly. Even though with this in mind, think it's safe to say that it is a very discrete type of performer. In the benefit of the fragrance it does have to be mentioned that the atomizer releases a noticable low amount of juice. At minimum it is 1/2 spray of the average atomizer and honestly I would even wanna say 1/3. The trick would then be to apply 2 to 3 sprays on the same spot to get one full average spray so to say, this does seem to help with the performance. You can easily recognize 'that Tom Ford signature' backbone in this scent which reminded me of the likes of Noir Extreme. Albeit they are different scents with Noir Extreme being a almost full on gourmand. This I would say is more of a Westernized Oriental spicy fragrance. I don't know how Pierre Negrin and Claude Dir did it, but the notes they came up with created a magic potion that among the hundreds of scents I have smelled and own as of today, made this one to be among my top 10 of all time. Trust me that really is saying something here. As a collector, fragrance explorer or whatever you want to identify as, do not sleep on this treasure of a scent. Perhaps it can also make you feel filled with joy upon smelling it, as it did so here. Rating: 9.1/10

Tom Ford Extreme is one of the best TF fragrances of all time! Of All Time!!! The fact that this was released as a flanker to TF For Men, and not marketed as a standalone Private Blend is really a tragedy of poor marketing and brand placement. This fragrance deserved so much better. It is so much better than many PB entries, and deserves to be recognised as one of TF's best creations. Imagine if this was released as an Eau de Parfum in the PB, with the squarish bottles, and given the name "Truffle Incense" or "Plum Smoke" or some other two-note naming convention that was popular at the time. The people would have bought this in bulk and showered in it. Literally showered in it. TF Extreme starts with a blast of truffle, leathery and earthy accords, that are then elevated with a crisp lemon that cuts through the formulation like a ray of light shining through rich purple velvet curtains. There is a creamy woodiness in the background that grounds the fragrance and helps it transition into the heart. The heart develops about 30 minutes after application, and one can smell boozy, resinous and woody accords. The dry-down is really where this fragrance shines. The rich incense and smokiness that come out really radiate and give a sense of depth and mystery to this fragrance. It is undoubtedly manly and very masculine, I can't imagine a woman wanting to smell like this. I can see this being the partner to Plum Japonais. There are elements of the two fragrances that are similar, where PJ goes into a frutier and plummier direction, TF Extreme goes into incense and boozy accords. Longevity and projection are quite solid for an Eau de Toilette. I get 6-7 hours of longevity, and 1.5 hours of projection within arms length. Again, if this had been released as an Eau de Parfum, and they amped up the performance this would have been a cult classic. If Estee Lauder really wants to revive old school Tom Ford, they would bring this back and make into an expensive PB at Eau de Parfum concentration. I think it would be badass reincarnated as a more powerful "Tom Ford Plum Smoke". If it ever happens, I want royalties! 10/10 Snifftacular!

You know, sometimes I wonder what it is that makes people enjoy fragrances like Tom Ford for Men Extreme. I'm particularly perplexed as to why an uninitiated nose would even gravitate towards such a scent. It's clearly not an easygoing or smooth fragrance that was made to capture the appeal of the average consumer. Yet, I am amazed at how much lies beneath the dark and rough surface because us bloodhounds can see, or rather smell those things more clearly, and thus we are able to appreciate a fragrance as a whole as opposed to just its parts. With that being said, this is one of those fragrances that you just can't be 100% sure about. This is a deep-layered fragrance with many nuances that are arguably impossible to describe thanks to its complicated note pyramid. Though at its core, it presents itself as the scent of earth; a humble composition of organic material rich in nutrients keeping Earth alive (see what I did there?). But at the end of the day, is the earthy accord used here as simple as one thinks it is? Absolutely not, as it's also a fairly complex set of notes that I can't quite decipher very well, save for maybe patchouli and some spices reminiscent of the warmth of the Christmas season. What I do know is that Tom Ford for Men Extreme was expertly crafted as a very wearable fragrance that is both representative of the modern gentleman and the Tom Ford brand image itself. I cannot think of many other fragrances in the line that are as true to the brand as this one right here. Perhaps the reason for its unfortunate demise was that it just wasn't very well understood by consumers, including fragrance enthusiasts, due to its abstract nature. I've always had an up-and-down experience with it, and part of that was my questioning of what the hell it was supposed to smell like and why it wasn't performing as robustly as it would suggest. I'm happy I overcame that mentality by biting the bullet to own a bottle, because this does so much for me without being much, if that makes sense. Trust your nose, and you just won't regret it.

Tom Ford Extreme completely blew me away! This fragrance is certainly a treat to any Tom Ford connoisseur! The initial sniff of the sprayer resembles a Black Orchid vibe, but also something unique and nothing I've smelt ever. Upon initial spray (I'm going off of a partial primed spray, not a full one) it's something I almost cannot put into words. It's spicy, leathery, slightly boozy and woody for sure! Kind of antique esque! I can definitely detect the caramel note (not super sweet smelling) and it smells so good! This is masculine at it's finest! I finally understand other users' comments about this and the Private Blend. It smells like it should of belonged in that group and go by a different name. I can see why most places like Sephora make this an online exclusive. It's very special scent, and sought after those who are daring enough to take the plunge into a true Tom Ford fragrance. If your finding that your collection is mostly Tom Ford, fellas you owe it to yourself to add this gem to your collection! Skip the original, the extreme is a whole other beast, and a better one at that! Longevity will be determined at a later time. I'll be rocking this one as my work scent of the day tomorrow, to see how this one does. Tom Ford Extreme is pricy, but "Extreme"-ly worth it! 12/10 One of the best Tom Ford's of all time! Edit: 2/2/19 -- Longevity is about average unfortunately. Although, even when I stop smelling it, others still can, so that kind of plays a factor in a positive way. As many other reviewers claim, you'd assume for the notes in this fragrance, they would last a long time. A beautiful scent, that unfortunately lacks longevity. You'd almost have to go 3-4 sprays and at least 1-2 on clothes to make this project.

This is absolutely not what I expected. I know that reviews already portrayed this as a niche fragrance, but I thought it would be more mass appealing for a signature fragrance (brandname + for men + extreme) So the scent starts with juicy lemons and figs, very sweet, almost like black orchid kind of sweet, but then a few seconds later the smoke (truffles?) kicks in. It's the kind of smoke when you go hiking with your friends wearing flannel shirt and boots, and you fry bacon and chicken on the fire you made out of random wood found in the forest. But it has a gorgeous juicy fig in the background all the way. Very well blended fragrance, it changes, evolves, one minute it's weird the next minute it's heavenly. If you sniff it in deep, you can still smell the lemon and the cedarwood in the back. Well the cedarwood smells a little more like pine, because my nose can't separate it from the smoke. There is a tiny bit of piney-barbershop thing lingering in the back, and this is what becomes the drydown on your skin. Scent feel: you are a kind of man who would wear boots with his suit, dresses up in flannel shirt for a hike. Fresh out of the barber shop, you go out with friends, you are the one who knows how to make fire, and smart enough to have a discussion about either philosophy, quantum physics but you enjoy simple pleasures of life like just enjoying the woods and looking at the stars. You know what you want, and you don't mind if not everyone loves you. You're dangerous, but humble and friendly. This is a rich, beautifull, dramatic and very unusual fragragrance. Like many of the private blends, but with less longevity. I think what makes this fragrance uniquely enjoyable is the truffle and plum accord. Truffle is a very unique smell, wet earthy vegitation, even a bit sour, like decaying greenery. The plum makes a seemless accord with the darker earthy truffle, and it's a beautifull smell for me. The truffle is the darring piquant note, but there's a lot more going on that smooths it out and makes it a cozy Fall and Winter scent. There are a lot of notes not listed here, but I have seen and heard from other sources; plum, fig, rum, leather. I get nutmeg, sage, and some vanilla... The great thing about this frag is that it's dark and rich, you think Fall and Winter, yet it goes nicely in warm weather because of the earthy tuber, fresh vetiver, and the boozy plum and fig notes. The fruity touches remind me of the blackberry in Amouage Jubilation XXV, the rasberry in Tuscan Leather, or the pinapple in Aventus. They all ad that great fresh fruity touch, that makes these fragrances great. This fragrance feels like it has dark balsamic richness, though none listed. Tom Ford Extreme is a classy woody fragrance, with some fresh spices, and hints of citrus, it is much better than the regular Tom Ford Man fragrance. Reviewers have said it's much more wearable than many Private Blends that have more wow factor. I agree, it's very cozy and wearable, very masculine. PS: If you want to check out something with a similar vib, but is yet more extreme with beast mode longevity and projection, at about the same price, Amouage Opus VII. Rating: 9. 5/10 God bless. This Juice? Pure Magic! Let me tell you, this fragrance is perfect for my taste. It’s like Tom Ford knew exactly what I needed before I did. It also feels like a bit of a teaser, a precursor to some of his later creations—like this was the OG magic potion, and the rest got inspired by this . Now, let’s talk style: It’s classy, but not like , "I only wear this with a three-piece suit and monocle" kind of classy. No, this is flexible. I can rock it with a t-shirt and jeans, or a shirt and tie. I could throw in "tuxedo" here, but let's be real—how often am I frocking around in a tux? Exactly. Not often. 😂 This scent leans masculine, no question about it. I was going to call it “uber masculine,” but honestly, I can totally see women pulling this off too—and if my partner was wearing it? Yeah, I’d be all about that. It's got a vibe that works for everyone. Now, here’s the kicker: It’s only available in EDT, But hold up—don’t let that bother you. This stuff is potent . It pushes off my skin like it’s got something to prove. It’s not obnoxious, though. People will definitely notice, but they won’t be running away from you like you sprayed on a whole bottle of “desperation.” And the longevity? Beast mode. I’m talking 8 hours on my skin, easy. Even longer on clothes. I’ve only got one bottle, and let me tell you, I’m on a mission to hunt for a backup. This juice deserves a spot in the Tom Ford Hall of Fame. Shame it’s discontinued... but honestly, Estée Lauder, please don’t even think about bringing it back. We all know how your reformulations go—like turning a masterpiece into a high-school art project. Let's not ruin a good thing!

This edt is superb in what it is and what it does. To my taste it beats the entire privé line with ease . This scent carries style, appeal, warmth, richness, sweetnes, refinement, subtlety and so on and on. Sweet is good if not overdone and this one does it exceptionally well in a mature and stylish way before going to that very nice leathery drydown. There are not so many fragrances that succeed at being so rich in scent and so easy to wear at the same time. The way this acts makes me want to wear it over and over and that is the trick it does. The performance is tweaked into perfection. Average projection and good enough longevity, the right way that compliments this scent. Easy to wear and yet so rich. It,s like eating cookies that are real good in taste and yet so subtle that make you eat the whole package at once because you can,t get enough of them, you never get satisfied from them... Dressed up, casual, any occasion, no matter what.. never disturbing people around, carrying quite a mass appeal and still being different and unique. You simply don,t have to be scared to overspray or to possibly disturb other people by wearing this. That is one of the reasons that make this juice so good for me. Easy to wear but still rich and unique in scent. This scent is perfect for people that don,t like loud fragrances screaming for attention or way to long lasting fragrances but just want to enjoy while still getting noticed when someone comes close without having or wanting to smell the perfume to "explicitly" for the whole day. Perfect!

Pros: That's a scent I can really really really enjoy! It's dark, Earthy, Spicy and fresh all at the same time. It's complex and deep. It takes you to a magical place! I don't really know how tuber smells... But if it smells like this it's wonderful! A perfect scent! 10/10 The packaging is very classy and like most of Tom ford's scents it's very elegant and sleek with a brown striped glass bottle with golden cap! 8/10 Cons: Here comes the little disappointment! For a perfume labeled as extreme it is rather weak! I hesitated before trying this because black orchid is not an "Extreme" perfume and was very strong! After a Blast of citrus and figs, Tom Ford extremes dries out very close to the skin... To my surprise! It doesn't project as I wanted it to be for an extreme perfume. However, the longevity is very good but it's still less than I expected. Black orchid, Sahara noir and other Tom ford's scents outclass Tom Ford extreme in every way! The only thing that Tom ford Extreme outclasses it's fellows is by it's pricetag which brings me for it's third and most glaring con! I really can't justify it'a pricetag. 150$ for 50ml EDP? With that projection and longevity no sir! Sahara noir for me has the same pricetag but is somewhat fair! Sillage 4/10 Longevity 7/10 Price 2/10 Overall... A nice perfume that is lacking in power for it's price... The same perfume with a lower price would be ok... But I can't deny that I love this perfume... This review just tells that I would never own a bottle! Shame!! 6.2/10

Just to add to the comments below about price. I pretty much agree that you should buy whatever is within your means. You'll find a way to have it if you love it that much and really really want it. Everybody has their limits and some houses are extortionate. I mean I really like Clive Christian fragrances but only one of them really justified the expenditure. However, this fragrance is an anomalous one because Tom Ford for Men is considerably cheaper... for the same EDT concentration. I know this is a later release and may well come down in price but it's still a little steep. Fortunately, I love this stuff and as a collector I'm not always bothered about maximizing the volume of juice I get so 50ml is just fine due to having a vast collection. Value for money is in the eye of the beholder anyway. I suspect somebody who ops for this sort of scent (especially from TF) is not a noob to fragrances and probably will rotate it with a few others, so even if you get 6 to 12 months use from it at £80 is that not deemed to be acceptable? It is for me... but the point is people have different perception of value for money and as it is with lots of things, you pay for the name and then discover whether it's worth it or not. Having said that I would love this as a EDP just so I got more strength and longevity from it...otherwise a brilliant fragrance.

Even though I'm a woman, I tried this cause I love Tom Ford fragrance and makeup. All I can describe this brand with is the word "luxurious". My signature perfume is Black Orchid, and I'm absolutely in love with it!!! I was spraying perfumes and playing around in Sephora looking for a sexy sent, and I saw this babe in a beautiful brown-gold bottle, I thought why not give it a try. Didn't know it's for men right then, but I was in love. Very intense and extreme indeed. I can imagine what kind of men were this. A very classy man wearing an expensive roberto cavalli suit, with a burgundy tie and fancy shoes, holding his cigar while reading a newspaper. It's not for a teenager or a very young man, for sure. Too mature, too heavy, too sexy for a casual look too. No freshness in there, and not citrus in any way. It's not a "sporty" smell. That's why I find it so unique. It has a distinctive smell that makes it stand out. If your man is into woody, leathery scents you might wanna get him that. I'm sure it's gonna appreciated by a gentle man. Away from the topic, I wanna get that one to myself. Would that be weird? Hmmmm... I'd prefer to smell it on my man :) It's too harsh for women I guess, because of the tobacco. But I still consider getting it.

Tom Ford for Men Extreme is a glass of whiskey and a crushed velvet jacket personified in a bottle. This juice is smooth as hell. It exudes stepping out and looking sharp. Its' opening evokes a dimly lit bar and and something in your hand served neat. I get all the the opening notes, (There aren't many, but that is the genius of this fragrance!) the fig, the lemon and patchouli bloom beautifully. As this thick and rich trio continues its opening salvo they are reigned in by the truffle and cedar that add a rich earthy tone to TFfME. What I love about this scent is that it veers in different directions, coming off as woody and spicy yet also giving a slight leather vibe. This is a well composed fragrance and it is very long lasting. When to wear this? This is a night time scent for me. Think dressed to the nines and having a great night with someone special on the town. This suits the thirty and up crowd perfectly and and could be worn by both sexes but it veers more masculine. Give Tom Ford for Men Extreme a few sprays when the night calls for more than looking smooth or cool, it will add a sexy edge and give another reason for your special someone to draw themselves closer to you.

I picked up the original 2007 batch without Extreme on the gold placard. I had never smelled it before and it was a pure blind buy. To me it’s a fruity top supported with a note that smells like truffle, I guess. Or what the perfume approximation of fresh truffles smell like. I get little patchouli until it dries down and then you get a combo of the truffle and patchouli with iso e super, I think. It’s not dry patchouli like a L’Instant de Guerlain or a Jovoy scent. It’s very smooth, fruity and rounded without much overt sweetness. A lot of people say it’s an upscale scent and overtly masculine. I’m not sure I agree with either of those. It’s a niche type scent in a designer bottle, poorly marketed and eventually discontinued. This should’ve been in a Private Blend bottle. It’s just an oddball truffle/fruit/patch scent. I get good longevity at 6-8+ hours but projection gets to the skin after a few hours. It’s objectively an 8.0/10. It’s weird, it’s interesting, it’s too expensive now. But it was an awesome start to the Tom Ford line!

I love this scent. First purchased in 2007, shortly after launch at a big department store on Oxford Street, London. It was, in effect, a replacement for Gucci Pour Homme - which was also purchased upon launch and which I still have about a third of a bottle for reference purposes. Fantastic, rich, incense and fig perfume. The first bottles I had (I always buy at least two) were full of this heady, potent, heavy scent. Great. But I used them up apart from a few mls. Subsequent purchases were disappointing - until now. I had a previous batch (A36) which was a pale imitation of my initial bottles, close enough to provoke nostalgia, far away enough to make you weep. A36 is a Mar 2016 batch. However, a couple of days ago I picked up a bottle of this which was an A27 (Feb 2017) batch and .......it is exactly like the original 2007 product. Actually, it is stronger. Take home message - in the face of time and reformulations, don’t give up hope, you can sometimes get that old vibe again.

This is rich smoky variation on the original which is one of my favorites. It opened VERY smoky on my skin (the tuber?), it's not to the point that I would call it "acrid" but it's pretty strong - like a nearby forest on fire, woody smoke (not tire-rubber smoke like the opening of Loewe Esencia - lovely drydown in its own right, mind you), but strongly smoky nonetheless. The sweetness is there also, but after that strong smoky note loses its clout the balance of the scent really stands out. Many sweetish scents approach being masculine, but this one owns it. This is "serious manly sweet" perfected. The sweetness of the fig and the patch and cedar create an accord I'd describe as "wood-drenched-in-amber" - with a toned down smokey contribution from the opening notes, this for some reason conjured in my imagination the silken upholstery and dark wood-paneled walls in an exclusive men's club. Magnificent, damn it - now I'm also hunting down a deal for this :)

This is and was when first released in '07 a slap in the face to all the designer houses and niche fragrance producers that claimed to know what a seductive, alluring, sensuous men's fragrance is yet, still have a Gentlemanly aura all rolled into one. It melds the line of sophistication and classy relaxed stature while simultaneously injecting a bit of a Bad Man essence (yes, not a bad boy wannabe) that has got their proverbial "shit" together in spades. It exudes opulence, refinement and still give enough of a charming and warm like presence to the wearer that is supremely captivating. Women love this stuff and Men (whatever is left of us) stand in respect of it. If there is The Signature of Signature scents from Tom Ford, this is it. It says FU to the establishment with a shit eating grin while portraying class & style in abundance. Love this stuff. For those that don't well, I guess it sucks to be you.....

This fragrance has mixed reviews on longevity and silage. In my experience with TF Extreme is that it lasts all day long with me. I usually spray the back of my hands or my cuffs. The silage seems to be pretty pontent as I can still smell it everytime I'm moving about. I absolutely love this fragrance. This fragrance IMO smells better than the original and it lasts way longer than the original. Just by spraying each on a tester strip, the extreme version lasted way longer. Someone wrote that it's no longer being made. Too bad if that's the case. I love the smell of leather and had bought Bvlgari Man Black. I wished that I had 't and splurged for TF Extreme instead. MAN Black is too sweet and doesn't have much for silage. It is a parfum and unfortunatley, it just will not last any length of time on me or clothes. Tom Ford Extreme is a quality frag in my experience if you like the scent

Truffles, truffles, and did I say truffles!!! Tom ford for men extreme is a potent version of the original tom ford for men. You can call this the intense edition even though it's still and eau de toilette. I remember the first time I smelled this, it took me right to a chemistry laboratory where the smell of ammonia and some other "pissy" substances clouds the air. But as the saying goes, "good things come to those who wait;" by mid to drydown, I was in heaven. These days, the opening is probably one of the best openings from tom ford to my little nose. Opening of citruses, figs, truffles, and incense. As the mid and dry down comes, the truffles hung tight as patchouli, amber, Cedar, sandalwood, fir balsam, and incense kicks into another gear. Defiantly, this will challenge younger crowds and new noses, but it's a stunner worthy of my wardrobe.

It would be nice if Fragrantica would finally fix the note breakdown for this fragrance. I know, it's not easy to get them all right but this fragrance Tom Ford for Men Extreme is actually a very complex fragrance & the simplistic note breakdown they have had up just doesn't do it justice! Anyways, I'm sad to see that Tom Ford doesn't make this fragrance anymore as it always was way more impressive than the original Tom Ford for Men. Matter of fact, it's more impressive than even some of the Tom Ford private blends! اول یه بوی بسیار خوشبو و تلخ رو خواهیم داشت که سریع رو به گرما میره که حالت کمی چرب مانند و کمی دودی داره چنین تصور کنید که از زیر خاک یک ریشه خوشبو رو برداشتید و بو میکنید . یعنی تا این حد خاصه این بوی خاص مربوط به توبر که از گزوه سبزیجات و میوه ها محسوب میشه که معادل فارسیش زگیل میشه ولی من ترجیح میدم همون توبر صداش کنم :دی بعد از 10 دقیقه این بو با روایح صدر و پچولی مخلوط میشه و کمی از قدرت توبر و همچنین سنگینی کلی عطر کاسته میشه. در آخر هم رایحه لیمو با حس نیمه شادابش تو این عطر احساس میشه . این عطر کاملا برازنده یه مرد بالغ،جنتلمن و بسیار بسیار شیک پوشه که هرازگاهی شیطونی هایی هم داره و ... در خصوص پخش و ماندگاری هم به نا به نام تام فورد ، باز اغراق شده (بد جوری) اکستریم خودشو بکشه دارای پخش و ماندگاری متوسط هست . من عاشق این عطرم ولی چیزی که مشخصه ترکیبات عطر فراتر از این هاست و من عناصری که متوجه بوشون شدم رو نوشتم

It was my scent of yesterday and it's my scent of today. Such underrated fragrance! Finally it's cold enough to rock this beauty. It starts with a perfect blend of tuber and fig, although very dark and opulent. As the fragrance starts to settle, a earthy patchouli will help to give more body and strength to the scent. There's no big development till it becomes a skin scent, where it becomes woodier and creamier. It's a dark, rich, dense, a bit opulent in the initial blast, masculine, elegant and mature scent. Not for the faint of heart. The performance is good, not beast mode. It projects for about 2h. After that hour, creates a nice scent cloud around you, till it becomes a skin scent, lasting for about 8h max. It's one of those scents that if it were in the Private Blend Collection, everyone would praise it.

This challenged me at first. I didnt understand and was put off initially by the juxtaposition of rich earthy truffle and (also rich) juicy fig/plum. The more I wear it the more I love it. Super rich, super dense. It's a little bit like a niche iteration of an 80s powerhouse that made itself modern with fig instead of oak moss. The earthy even slightly savory tuber/truffle note is very distinct for me and exquisitely diametrically opposed to the rich black/purple plum and almost oddly watery fig. It's super interesting to have such a dark, rich, dense scent with a touch of something watery and refreshing. I think that combination of ideas is what makes it similar or related to Fahrenheit to some noses. Rich and authoritative. Love how the slim 1.7 oz bottle fits in my interior leather jacket pocket.

a sensual scent, with animalic feel. on me it's actually more like a tamed warm balmy woody one but on other people it may be something different and really amazing. I remember that when it first launched, i got a sample and thought it was good, so I shared it with one of my colleagues. He loved it right away, soon bought himself a bottle and wore it everyday to office. It's a smell of love making on him, and it's hard for me to bear such a smell during working hours - the whole office room would be filled with the smell even during the weekend when my colleague was absent and finally i had to suggested him gently that his scent is way too strong and urged him to wear something else. I regret a little and missed it actually, because it really smells amazing on him and i seldom smell any scent alike.

Nice fragrance more appropriate to serious, semi-formal/formal, upscale occasions. The woody, earthy, and patchouli accords seem to coalesce into a leather accord to my nose, but I think there is an explicit leather note in the base. But the paltry note list here on this Fragrantica page surely is incomplete. I've seen note listings of TF for men Extreme with plum, saffron along with the fig and truffle listed in the mid and leather, rum, caramel and others in the base. There seems to be DNA shared between this and Black Orchid, probably significantly attributable to the truffle note. I was lucky to come across a bottle of this with just about 20ml left for $20 USD. And ScentualObsessions has a good clone of Tom Ford for Men Extreme, which I'm wearing now.

This perfume has not happened before and will not happen again. It is a masterpiece created by Tom Ford while listening to Frank Sinatra singing My Way. The world must stand up and recall the era of Tom Ford from 2006 to 2017. It was 11 years like a dream for lovers of fashion and the world of art and creativity. Thank you, Tom Ford, but unfortunately this era didn’t resist after many stops and rushes to bring in money by selling identity in exchange for attention (fucking fabulous). I will continue to adore you and I will continue to search for and acquire everything from this era, but I am convinced that my inspiration for this has disappeared and I will continue to wonder if it returns, will I welcome it again? Of course, there is no doubt about that.

حیف که این عطر فوق العاده دیگه تولید نمیشه، و در واقع خیلی زود دیسکانتینیو شد، ترکیبات بسیار با کیفیت، استادانه در کنار هم قرار گرفتن. نوتهایی که در این وبسایت عنوان شده خیلی ناقصه، اگر اشتباه نکنم ۳۱ یا ۳۲ نت مختلف در این عطر با هم ترکیب شدن، در ابتدا لیمو و ریحان شروعی نه مرکباتی بلکه سبز رو به نمایش میگذارن، و این فضا به سرعت جای خودش رو به ترکیبی فوق العاده از بخور، انجیر سیاه، قارچ ترافل، چوب سرو و سندل و پچولی، با هاله ایی از آکورد مشروبی میده که فضایی منحصر به فرد ایجاد میکنه. نت بخور از ابتدا تا اواسط حیات عطر وجود داره ولی بعد به حاشیه میره و در اینجا چرم و وتیور به ترافل و پچولی ملحق میشن. این شاهکار مناسب آقایان بالای ۳۰ سال و فضاهای رسمیه، و باز هم تاکید میکنم لیاقت این عطر جایگاهی بهتر از لاین سیگنچر بود و صد حیف که دیسکانتینیو شد

I'm 23 and try to stay away from scents that are too mature, sophisticated, elegant, posh, etc. but this works on me and I never wear a suit. I wouldn't wear it to the gym but other than that it's pretty versatile. It isn't too loud so that helps in the versatility department. It's very complex and intoxicating. I get a physical sensation when I smell this, as if it has the power to release endorphins. Very dark, yet sweet, slightly spicy, leathery smooth goodness. I love it. I can see myself wearing this out a lot in the fall/winter. (I don't understand the complaints about the price, its easy to find at 40% off retail. $80 for a 50ml of this x2= $160 for 100ml. It's the same quality as the private blends at a much lower price.)

well i have received my 50ml of this . right off the bat it reminds me of Tom ford Black Orchid which i also own. It smells very very similar to tom ford black orchid except this has more woods and leather but its just as heavy in silage . Smells nothing like the original which i also own . The original smells more fresh and crisp like an orangy lemon type vibe . This version feels better suited for night time wear mostly . I didnt quite like black orchid as it smelled too much of one ingredient . this is more wearable . The price is shocking for 50ml . but i will buy another bottle . They need to make a 100ml bottle as the size of this 50ml bottle is laughable . but its a 10/10 fragrance . smells rich like money .

Man, the strings I had to pull to get a bottle of this stuff... well worth pulling, though. This smells like royalty in a bottle. In my opinion, this is where the Tom Ford... ‘thing’... started. Those of you who are familiar with Tom Ford’s offerings know exactly what I’m talking about, the signature dark heaviness that permeates through just about every fragrance that Tom Ford has released. Is this one worth bonzo bucks? No, I don’t think so. There are a precious few discontinued Tom Fords that I feel truly earn the inflated price tags they’ve found themselves with, and this isn’t quite among them. Don’t get me wrong, this is a gorgeous fragrance, well worth the retail price, and perhaps a bit more.

This is the unsung hero of Tom Fords bunch, everyone talks about the TV, TL and the other lovish expensive blends and forget this very soothing gentleman here - and I ́m actually very cool with that, because then the prices stay pretty steady :-). The break down of the notes doesnt or rather wouldnt do this gem justice, one just needs to try it. It took time for me to really love it because I was caught up in "other" TF fellows/usual culprits but after that, it hit me right in the head. Ever since then I ́ve never looked back, ... just try it. I need not persuade anyone, ... just try it. Middle aged, a dark shirt and tartan Jacket... then the night might as well be yours.

Overall: 8.75/10 Here's Why: Its woody and upscale. A nasal blast of all things 80's (for about the first half hour i'm pretty sure i smell like a guy running a high end cigar shop doused in musk). This slowly fades to a beautiful and warm woodsy musk, sophisticated and raw. This lacks the refinement of his Private Blends, but I think thats the point. Lasts 8-12 hrs easily on me and 24 hrs or so on clothes. Such a magnificent scent. Very endearing. Plays VERY well with other woody/spicy fragrances, my particular favorite mix would be Extreme and Tuscan Leather. Heady and very heavy combination, but the most unique scent blend, and very attention grabbing.

What a powerful and unapologetic statement-piece! Cannot believe this largely went under the radar. Feels like this should have been part of the early Private Blends. Being released in 2007 in a dark brown/black bottle with gold hardware makes it fit in nicely with the PB aesthetics anyway. As someone said below, this should have been named Truffle Noir, Black Truffle, or something like that (as a PB), and not a flanker of something it smells absolutely nothing like. Was hunting for a full bottle of this for a long time (beware of scammers), and SO happy that I finally got this from a standup guy in the community 👌🏻

I have a question. Was this reformulated early in its release ? I have a bottle a little golden band around the neck with a little badge that sais TF on it. I got it from a estate seller and the Logo had almost fallen off and the sticker on the bottom is gone. in the opening it lacks the geranium or somewhat floral note. In the drydown, It smells a little less of petrol and smoke and has a little bit more of a clear ambergris smell and smells smoother. - and I just noticed my fathers bottle had a little 12 punched in the glass, while mine has a large 2 protruding from the bottle on the bottle

Extreme? No! Beautiful? YES! I get the feeling that I am walking through an underground path, the roots from the trees above poke through the top of the pathway, along with an occasional flower that has been driven underground. My leather jacket and leather bag are covered in dust as I move along. Along the way I remove some figs from my bag for lunch. Extreme is a very earthy, woody and leather scent on my skin with a touch of floral to round it out. A very well balanced and masculine scent. It has great longevity, but moderate projection. Bottom line: this one is worth trying a sample.

Smoky, dark, and decadent. Elegant but with something raw and sensual lurking underneath. This was one of my first fragrances of this type and it's still special to me. The performance isn't perfect but I feel the subtlety is part of the point--you have to get close to smell it, but once you do you can't get enough. Longevity is good despite the low projection. I've looked around a bit for something with a similar scent but better projection, and there's really nothing I've found that comes close. I wear this when I prefer the subtlety, when I know I'll be in close quarters with another.

I've just bought my second bottle of this. My previous one was about 3 years ago. Let me say, it drives women wild. I owned 3 TF fragrances back then, and this one seemed to do it the most. Once they start sniffing your neck, they just can't stop. It's very masculine, and has that slight fig note which adds depth, richness, and slight sweetness. Once it gets into your head, it stays there, and you just want more. I used to joke that it had cocaine or something in it. Sometimes I would put 70% of this and 30% TF Oud Wood mix into an atomizer. That is a secret weapon right there.

As my bottle of this nears empty, I am reminded of how much I enjoy wearing this fragrance. It is beautiful in composition and projects well, and I really enjoy the fig note. Unfortunately I decided to stop wearing it to work because a lady coworker found it hard to concentrate (leaning in to sniff my neck) "Oh my gawd you smell SOOOOO good...it makes it hard for me to focus! You smell SO sexy." While I love the response, I prefer to receive it from my wife(!). In any case, I think this one gets a bad wrap for its name, but it is fantastic and sexy...but limit to night wear.

What a nice masculine frag! It opens with oud-y kind of notes, but turns into bold lemon in seconds. Truffle gives such a cool base for other ingredients, and patchouli is that kind of tarty plant that adds some spices to the lemon, making it even a bit of tea-drown. Tho I haven’t detected any fig notes at all. A small minus - the frag has typical men’s mainstream nuances. Like, that famous “shower gel” note. I’m personally not a fan of it, but I can survive its existence in this cool frag, I think. It’s dark and fascinating, indeed a great creation.

Refined fahrenheit indeed. It has elegance, charm and rugged masculinity. Tom ford always has a way of making something modern in his own style, no exception here. The interesting thing is that for the notes being usually dark,dense or even overpowering, magic has been done here to make them aromatic and almost light. I get 4 to 5 hours longevity and fairly poor projection,but fair sillage. Even with this extreme version and after testing my father's newer lot version. Another great understated gentlemanly fragrance

If you like M7, you'll like what TF Extreme also accomplishes here, and vice-versa. Unapologetically masculine, confident, and seductive without being overly difficult to wear, nor inadvertently stumbling into phukboi loudness. TF Extreme definitely lends itself well to formal wear, but it will also sing with a blazer and t-shirt outfit. Discontinued Tom Ford frags are certainly a mood worth capturing in a bottle. Such wearable trifectas of darkness, artistry, and seduction are becoming a harder to find elsewhere.

Literally (and I hate the overuse of the word 'literally') the best fragrance ever. Wearing this makes me feel like I'm royalty. It fuels my often-dormant narcissistic qualities. It's classic Tom Ford; if you smelt this blind you'd know it was his. But it has this outrageous dark truffle kick that casts a smell on you. It's a shame it's now £300+ a bottle. I have about 15ml left of my current one, and would happily sacrifice goats and coats* for another bottle. *No coats were harmed in the making of this review.

I'm not going to add on to the evocative descriptions and adulations that many other reviewers have showered on this masterpiece, other than to recommend a good alternative no one seems to have mentioned: Tom Ford's Plum Japonais. It's the one that comes closest to Tom Ford for Men Extreme to my nose, with the equally enchanting plum and cedar and fig notes that seem to mesmerize everyone who adores this fragrance, though PJ, admittedly, doesn't have that same touch of smoky incense that balances the fruitiness.

This goes through a myriad of changes, after about 20mins hits a nice woody smoky sweet scent beautiful for a gentlemens club or just dressed like a gentle men. A bit later I get the fig in the dry down. This is a bit swanky for everyday as I'm not a suits kind of guy but I will wear this to the more formal events. This is my last review as I have chosen a couple of signature fragrances and will use them liberally. I hope to get back once Ive got my hands on some Tom Ford Private Blends, happy scenting!

I LOVE this Tom Ford perfume. Can't say that enough. This is so unique that it has its character of its own. It's smoky without being unpolished, classy without being a showoff, elegant without being too conspicuous, masculine without being overtly so. This is such an underrated gem. I have to say it does not project very strong (in tropic temperatures), not very versatile and not for the younger crowds. But my advice - sniff it again and you will be in for a surprise ;) 10/10

I love this scent. I couldn't wear this everyday because their is a spiciness that reminds me of what I would imagine an indian carpet trader would smell like. There is a spicy scent that makes me think of sausages too. However, overall it is a great rich scent. There are no leather notes listed, but I get the smell of rich leather and cedar with a touch of middle eastern spices. Surprisingly I got several compliments on the scent. It is extremely interesting and unique.

This fragrance is so good! I absolutely love it!!! I've no idea what Tuber is but if that's a large component of this fragrance then it's devine whatever it is? I get the earthy, woodiness of cedar, gorgeous patchouli and lovely lovely edible element coming from the fig. It's been composed very well and so masculine. This and Tom ford for men are truly great works and I really love them shame they don't last longer on my skin but that's only a minor criticism.

Nice and unusual frangrance. It smells close to my body for almost 5-7 hours. I don't like overpowered fragrances that intimidate people next to me. Interesting smell: to me it smells like an exquisite black tea mixed with spices and smoky plums while tasting this spicy fruity tea in the middle of a wood caught on fire or like staying with this savory potion near a bonfire. Nothing like this on the perfume market. If you can offerd it buy it.
