Maritime Deep Blue

I know this shouldn’t matter, but the bottle, man, the bottle. Beautiful deep blue colored bottle with a wooden cuff around the sprayer and a metal boat cleat with a rope tie down for a cap. Too cool not to mention. This stuff projects and actually has decent longevity for an eau de cologne. 4 hoursish. Not bad not bad. Now the smell. Deep. Blue. Very refined and gentlemanly. Comforting. Smart. Just good stuff all around. Good for day time wear, but puts a picture in my mind. That picture is of me living the good life at my beach house with my wife. The day is done. It is just she and I. We clean up and dress in nice, albeit ultra comfortable clothing. I spray this on. We sit down to a nice dinner, enjoying some fine wine while sitting on our deck overlooking the beach. We listen to the waves lightly crashing while a cool sea breeze blows and the stars twinkle above us. We talk. We laugh. We love. That’s the image this stuff evokes and I love it. Either way a great evening wind down and relax scent. Fantastic!

This is the best ocean/aquatic fragrance on the market. I have tried several and this is still my favorite. It is like the scent of leaping off the world from high upon a craggy rock ledge and plunging deep into an electric-blue ocean. This is about 80% aquatic blue (ocean) and 20% clubhouse blue (shower gel/deodorant). It could be improved upon by cutting out the clubhouse blue portion, and bringing out a more fresh air accord along with a bit of cucumber/citrus. But I suppose then they might need to call it Light Blue. My main complaint is that it lacks in longevity. This gets heavy use because I love a real good fresh aquatic. Although just about anytime that I grab it, I am trying to layer one or more fragrances with it to give it more character.

I got this along with Maritime and Maritime Journey. I like this one the best BY FAR. I am not a big fan of heavily fresh spicy/aromatic fragrances but this smells good. Very masculine appeal with the woodiness and just enough of an aquatic note to balance things out and tone down the spiciness. The other two maritimes are just sweet and powdery pretty bad IMO. This is manly and dark but summery at the same time makes you think of a classic American man on a boat probably. Would buy 9/10, smells MUCH better than the other two.

Love this fragrance. It makes me think of being on a carefree vacation on a boat off the Florida keys. Very summery and aquatic. Since I now use unscented moisturizer before applying fragrance, this does project on me and lasts about 3 hrs before I'll spray again. Can't wait for summer to come around. Has anyone else noticed this seems very oily?

I really like this one. It smells great and has a high oil concentration so it has good longevity. Can't go wrong very safe to wear this anywhere. Safe to blind buy too

Not quite as pleasant as Journey, but I own both and only use this one slightly less. More versatile for night time use.

Hands down my favorite fresh fragrance of 2018. Can't get enough of it!

Tommy Bahama Maritime Deep Blue was the fifth of the Tommy Bahama house I have gotten my nose on. Tommy Bahama has been a hit and miss with Set Sails St. Bart being the best and Set Sail Martinque being the worst. That is until I smelt Maritime Deep Blue. Maritime Deep Blue is largely a dark blue fragrance. It is in the Bleu de Chanel ballpark, but I feel it also has some Polo Blue, Acqua di Gio Profondo (and by default Profondo Lights), Le Male In the Navy and John Varvatos JVxNJ (blue) to it as well. The one thing I notice with Maritime versus the other fragrances I mentioned, I've noticed is that the notes blend together in Maritime in a undetectable way. The most noticeable scent is the bergamot with the musk and cedar notes in the base, somewhat noticeable. I'm not sure what it is with this fragrance, it just doesn't let notes stand out. Now that said, this smells really good. Rather marine despite no distinctly marine notes. Usewise is casual and work. I can see this working for spring and summertime. It can work day and night. It is a people pleasing and easy to wear DNA. I wouldn't wear it to dates if you are wanting to be unique, but if you wear it, I'm sure your date would enjoy the smell on you. Performance is a bit lacking sadly. It shouldn't surprise anyone, Tommy Bahama fragrances aren't known for being long lasting. This performs like expected with the brand, 4 hours tops with about an hour of projection. I mean, we all know Tommy Bahamas tend to be Eau de Colognes rather than Eau de Toiletes, but yeah performance is not great with Tommy Bahama fragrances... Overall Maritime Deep Blue is a 7.0. I happen to love the DNA that this fragrance copies, but it doesn't make a spin on it and honestly, performance is a problem. I can give the JVxNJ flack, but that fragrance has a mineral accord that somewhat sets it apart despite less performance.

Got this from discounter as a tester for 27 dollars. Sharp and aromatic, the top notes are very similar to Polo Blue. As it dries down I get more of the moss and patchouli than I do in Polo Blue. I would actually say this is a little more complex and I prefer it. Longevity is just ok, but I mean it is a cologne strength, so I only expected about 3 hours of projection and that is about what I got. After three hours you can still smell it on skin however. A well done blue scent that is good but not great.

It's nice, it is American made just to clarify as discounters tend to define it as French. To put it best, as one who has bought the cologne, it's closest to a black oud cologne ( the newer American made artificial variants ) , just a tad bit sweeter , don't expect it to last as long also may be best for layering . If someone is reading from tommy bahama colognes, please bring back the originals.

This would be great if it were just a little bit stronger and would last longer. I have Polo blue EDP and it is veryyy close to the same smell, but I would say deep blue has a bit of a darker smell to it, almost like a nice seaweed smell to it, while Polo blue edp is a slightly cleaner/refined smell to my nose. Both are pleasant, can't go wrong either way.

Nice one. Polo Blue’s nighttime brother. Alittle redundant to own both but I prefer this one. Polo blue edt has that weird musky melon thing going on that doesn’t work for everyone. The cardamom and patchouli in this just work. Blind bought along with Rochas L’Homme and man that was the best blind buy package to get in the mail. Really made my day

Deep, masculine and fresh. Someone said its like stepping out of the ocean and thats what its like, thats why I like to spray it on after a shower.

How the note of melon is not listed...I do not know. I get a strong blast of calone in the opening of this that linger with the other notes for first couple of hours. Not a bad thing...just caught me way off guard going by note breakdown. This is not so much Deep Blue vs fresh ozonic and aquatic. If you want ocean...go grab Bvlgari’s salty DNA. IMHO, I get water Lily, rosemary, geranium and oak moss here. It’s like a fresh green floral. Pleasant and certainly wearable...but far from its namesake. Longevity and projection are slightly above average. For the money, it’s a pretty good value...as I find almost all TBs. Only good for spring/summer and casual wear...so not very versatile. Once I get past my initial expectation of this, I will find places to wear this fragrance. Pretty good...but far from oceanic.

Pleasant yet entirely generic shower gel blue freshie. Was expecting a bit more from the brand after having smelled and loved St Barts. It’s easily likable, and even easily gift-able because it’s just shower gel. If you’ve been in the fragrance game for longer than like 4 months you’ve probably smelled this before. Again it’s an extremely mass appealing and likable scent, smells like you just came out of the shower. Would recommend to any dude just stepping into this hobby or as a gift for someone. Best part about this scent is the cool bottle. 5/10. Good price for an introduction into scent.

Ho hum. Adequate best describes this fragrance for me. It is the best in the Tommy Bahama Maritime line but it is northing all that great. The bottle is the best part. It really evokes life on the sea, as its name suggests. Visually it is great. However, the scent and performance profile is so-so. It does succeed in bringing the ocean to mind but it is a rather bland scent that is barely noticeable as a skin scent after a couple of hours. It is safe and non-offensive but, not only will others probably not notice it, I doubt you will be able to notice your wearing it.

Maritime Deep Blue is a Spring/Summer fragrance. Good opening and good skin scent but short lived. I received from "My Yellow Diamond" this fragrance as a gift set with the the OG Maritime and Journey, and to my nose this one ranks 1st on the line-up with Journey being 3rd. Longevity - 3-4 hours to expect of a summer fragrance must re-apply. Sillage - arm's length for about 1-1/2 hour turning into a skin scent afterwards. Likeabliity - 8/10 (crowd pleaser) I will definitely be placing this on my out of the shower rotation and experiment it on super hot Summer days.

Tommy Bahama maritime deep blue: almost wrote this off when I tested a tiny amount. Thought it was boring. But once I knew it was safe I oversprayed a bit more. What a very nice, fresh-but-kinda-dark classically masculine cologne. And it doesn’t stay the same throughout. The longer dry down becomes more marine and less spicy. I think the biggest strengths are good price and total versatility. I am a female user, also so I say: not for men only!

It's super masculine, but the smell is not super memorable. I've definitely smelled this on some middle aged guys before. I get the appeal, and it's definitely got a refined and mature feel to it, but I just wouldn't wear it

I have this and the Maritime Journey, and while they’re both great smelling, TB needs to step it up and make some EDP’s - or at least an EDT. I probably won’t purchase again, since it doesn’t last long.

This just isn’t good imo there’s something to it that smells like a 50 year old man going fishing on his boat.. 4/10 smell 6/10 longevity 6.5/10 sillage. If your young (13-21) don’t blind buy

#188 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Tommy Bahama Maritime Deep Blue Caution - Shallow Waters Nice bottle. That's the only positive thing you can say about this pretense of a scent. Guess you call it an "aquatic" if it's 99.99999% water? When the Tommy Bahama brand first came along in 2004 it was nothing like this. St. Barts was a fabulous fragrance, kind of a beast, and I loved it, but it was more a "party at the beach" fragrance that I wore on our company's mandatory "Hawaiian Shirt Fridays" (Security would literally stop you at the door if you weren't wearing a flowery shirt). But my job involved lots of global travel meeting with C-suite teams of major corporations, so St. Bart's cologne really wasn't right for the plane, or my 16-hour suit-and-tie-in-the-boardroom days, so I stopped wearing it. This is a reunion of sorts almost 20 years later, and like most 20-year reunions, it's turning out to be a drag. This fragrance, and I hesitate to call it that, is literally undetectable in five minutes. Go ahead, spray on the entire bottle if you like, clothing or skin, it will make no difference. I can't comment on the notes because in seconds the scent is vague and indistinct. "Maritime" was the same. I've purchased the entire line to evaluate. This is the third I've tried. "Maritime Triumph" was okay, "Maritime" was pathetic. I gave both away. This "Maritime Deep Blue" is so bad, think "Cuba Paris" and "Yachtman" bad, I'd be embarrassed to hand it off. I have the entire rest of the line to go. Hopefully there will be something worth keeping. No reason for optimism at this point.

The weakest in the Maritime line. The smell is just OK, and for whatever reason I get absolutely no longevity from it. And no, it's not just that it's a cologne (the original Maritime and Journey flanker are also colognes and I get about 4-6 hours from them) -- I get about 20 minutes with Deep Blue before I can barely even smell it. You may as well just throw your money down the toilet as nobody is going to smell anything the moment you leave your house.

Azzaro Chrome EDP but with even WEAKER performance. Amazon should feel ashamed promoting this overpriced EDC.

Ugh! Sours on my skin almost immediately. Pungent and chemical. Scrubber...

تصور دریا برای دریا ندیده تامی باهاما مریتایم دیپ بلو یه عطر آروماتیک سیتروسی و چوبیه با اینکه اسمش ارجاع داره به دریایی بودن ولی توی نت‌ها و آکوردها جایی ذکر نشده ولی یه عطر دریایی هم هست، هر چند حس دریایی‌ش قوی نیست و بیشتر یادآور تصویری ذهنی از دریاست تا خود دریا مثل تصویری از دریا پیش از اینکه برای اولین بار دریا رو دیده باشین. تا حدی می‌تونه یادآور دیویدوف کول واتر و آزارو کروم اکستریم باشه ولی بیشترین تشابه رو به نظرم با بلو شنل داره، اگر خیار و طالبی رو فاکتور بگیرین شباهت هایی هم به پولو آبی داره. با توجه به عطرایی که ذکر شد عطری به شدت آشنا، بی‌آزار و ایزی وره. اپنینگ سیتروسی تیزی داره که یه مقدار شیمیایی به نظر می‌رسه ولی دوام چندانی نداره و در یک چشم به هم زدن فضای سبز، آروماتیک و چوبی غالب می شه. شیرینی هل کاملا کنترل شده‌س با اینکه حضورش بارزه و رزماری با اینکه بارز نیست ولی حضور محسوسی داره. در کل فضای شسته رفته و تمیزی داره و تا حدی توی افترشیوها و رول‌های ضد تعریق و ژل شاورها ممکنه رایحه مشابه یا نزدیک بهش رو بوییده باشید. به عنوان یه عطر زیر چهل دلار عطر مقرون به صرفه‌ایه ولی با توجه به وضعیت فعلی تو ایران خیلی قیمت به صرفه‌ای نداره و حتما تستش کنید. موندگاریش متوسطه و پخشش متوسط رو به ضعیف. شیشه جذابی داره به خصوص درش که یادآور گره‌هاییه که قایق و کشتی‌ها رو باهاش به لنگرگاه می‌بندن.

I like this fragrance because its very very very smooth and subdued. It also has some interesting notes to it for a fresher type scent. Its actually a little spicy, and I pickup the cardamom and patchouli in this almost outright. I think they nailed the theme well because this is "deeper" for a Tommy Bahama fragrance, yet it still remains a fresh scent. I dont usually like these types of "manly old spicey fresh" fragrances, but the notes here render this fragrance a tad bit more deeper, versatile, and complex than that. Again, the smoothness and softness of this fragrance are what made this stand out to me. Id actually prefer this during the night as the patchouli and cardamom are heavy enough to allow that IMO...things get even smoother with time.

It's better than Hugo Dark Blue, but not as good (smooth/longevity/quality) as Acqua Essenziale Blu Salvatore Ferragamo. These dark blues are trying to reflect aspects of Bvlgari Aqva Atlantique, Versace Dylan Blue, Bleu de Chanel etc. at a better value. I have all these fragrances, I'm a TB fan, Deep Blue does an attractive/appealing job and does not smell cheap. Though I like it, I've noticed Acqua Essenziale Blu in 3.4oz price has been dropping and it's basically only $10 more than a 4.2 oz of Deep Blue - and that's the thing - while TB Deep Blue is nice, the disparity in price & volume isn't enough to choose it over Acqua Essenziale Blu Salvatore Ferragamo....if a deep blue is what you're looking for.

Probably half decent for older guys but its giving me these weird davidoff cool water vibes that im not a fan of, in fact this is like if sauvage and coolwater had a low iq child. it does smell like an old man. salty blue frag which usually im a fan of but something in this just isnt right. one of those frags that actually smells kind of cheap unfortunately. Underwhelming and something like aqva would do the job better. Bad performer as well.

This is a great scent! Does remind me of something Polo would make. I actually have this and the 2020 version of Polo deep blue and can smell very similarities in them. It’s fresh and clean almost like jumping out of the sea! It’s aquatic, woody and masculine. Perfect to wear anytime day or night. Definitely something to add to the collection. If you’re considering buying this then do yourself and favor and do it. You won’t regret it.

Feels good after a shower in weather cool enough not to sweat. Blue and dark green - strong rather than playful. The maritime impression is like a strong, cold North Sea wind in Gothenburg rather than a pleasant warm tropical sea breeze in Cairns. The regular Maritime fragrance survives hot, sweaty weather like few fragrances can, and is cheap enough to reapply after frequent cold showers in really hot, humid weather.

Got a sample from someone, took me a little but smells exactly like Polo Blue EDP from opening to close, and apparently also like EDT but I can’t confirm that from experience. Nothing like Eternity Aqua (that one is generic trash) or any ADG. I really like Polo Blue EDP and Deep Blue, they came first and since I also own both of those I’d have no reason to ever buy this one.

Incredible designer cheapie. Masculine. Deep and fresh. Blended well, I can't make out specific notes. Smells better than and not highly synthetic like most blue scents 3x times its price. I bought for my teenage nephew and teachers/kids always asking what is it or trying steal from what I heard from him. Great for a blind buy

Very familiar TB tropical oceanside style cologne, this one feels a little bit more modern - its more recent release. It has that blue freshie mass appealing factor while still keeping TB classic relaxing resort fun the sun vibes. Its more mellow and personal scent. For the price this is a great buy.

Better than Maritime, with more personality. A bit sweeter, a bit spicier. Will definitely buy when it arrives in discounters, which it will in a year or so. Not worth current prices.

Nice masculine fragrance, lasts 5-7 hours, it has a lot of resemblance with Ralph Lauren Polo Blue ! A bit overpriced here in Australia !
