Set Sail Martinique

Tommy Bahama is a master of laidback vacation scents, and casual fragrances that are anything but generic. From the original spicy woody TB, to the cool mojito inspired Very Cool, to the wonderful fruity-green tropquatic of St. Barts...but this is really different from the other set sail line (excepting, possibly South Seas-as I haven't smelled it yet)... This begins with a rather common scent, and at first I thought: "Wow, a clone of SSSB's"-but that is just the bergamot. A very nice bergamot at that. Bright, slightly off, but not too sharp or bitter. It blends wonderfully with the blue lavender's soft woody green floralcy and the subtle smell of fresh peppercorns-amazing! This gets better as it goes. I enjoyed St Barts, but this passed that 10 nautical miles ago! The musk here is great-very natural but not overly animalic and it gives it a hint of something skinlike. There is something in this that (vaguely, mind you) reminds me of Etat Libre d'Orange Secretions Magnifiques!(?) Do not judge this from the bottle or on paper...you will miss the wonder it creates on the skin! My new favorite Tommy Bahama... Sillage: good Longevity: very good Overall: 4.5/5 I know that the island of Martinique is in the Carribean somewhere (isn't it?), but know nothing else about it. If this is what it smells like there-I'm calling my travel agent, SOON...I was also told that Tommy Bahama is a division of Tommy Hilfiger (like Baldessarini is to Hugo Boss) does anyone here know if that is, in fact, true? Regardless, this is a great fragrance and I will be looking for it in the discount stores after Christmas. If you like it (or even think you will) get it soon...as these limited editions usually go for a year or two and then are gone...

I wanted a casual summertime fragrance for the warm weather this year and I found exactly what I was looking for with Set Sail Martinique. Honestly, I'd seen this fragrance around before (you can find it at any discount store like TJ Maxx, Nordstrom Rack, etc). I enjoyed the way it smelled on paper but was hesitant to buy it because it was an Eau de Cologne. After looking at reviews of it here and noting that it had good longevity (especially for an EDC), I wanted to try it out for myself. I went to Perfumania to pick up a bottle (Fragrantica has wrong parent company - Tommy Bahama is currently made by Five Star Fragrances, which is owned by Perfumania Holdings). I ended up getting a gift set for $30 and bought a deodorant stick to go along with it. I've never bought a fragrance for so cheap and enjoyed it this much. As other reviews note, it lasts quite a while. For me, it'll last around 4-6 hours and I have horrible body chemistry for fragrances (nothing lasts on me). The sillage is moderate - I'd say it radiates slightly around you but by no means projects. Also is a good fragrance for any age, I'd say. As I mentioned, the scent is perfect for the warm weather. To me, the notes listed here are very accurate and all work together seamlessly. People say it smells like a good suntan lotion, and honestly, I can understand that. I would say though that it doesn't smell like chemically sunscreen, so don't be confused by that description. It smells fresh, pleasant, and is different from other aquatics out there because of the lavender and musk. I'm looking forward to using this all summer long!

My adventure with Tommy Bahama fragrance has been rough. I love the TB Signature in the brown bottle. I never got to try Set Sail South Sea or Very Cool because my experience was ruined after I tried Set Sail St Barts. Sadly, Set Sail St. Barts reminds of concentrate cleaning solution because of the sharp and strong opening. So here I am; out on the adventure again and there is Set Sail Martinique, and I am happy to say that it is wonderful. No doubt, Set Sail Martinique is a fresh scent. It gives me a "deep" aquatic smell and feel without being salty watery or oceanic. The bergamot is just fresh and lightly zesty as typical. The aromatic quality of lavender is pleasant with a slight soapiness that isn't trying to be squeaky clean. When the scent begins to mellow, it becomes peppery musk with a slight trace of bergamot. On the down side, it doesn't last that long; roughly 4 hours on me. In addition, Set Sail Martinique makes me think a bit of Bvlgari Aqva Homme, but I am not exactly sure because it's been a while back since I tested the Bvlgari. I guess I will have to test them both again to find out. So the scent may appear to be a bit generic with all the usual ingredient combo, but it still smells great. It's perfect as a casual everyday scent. It will do no wrong. So be sure to check it out when it's available near you guys. This is the best one out of the Set Sail line.

I have all 3 Set Sail fragrances, and all of them smell great and above average but let me say this one smells FANTASTIC. Maybe it’s just me but it smells so soothing with lavender and probably coconut and then you get some aquatic notes and musk that make it darker and more manly. I’ve smelled a solid amount of fragrances and this is one of my top 3. May be because I don’t really like heavy aromatic/fresh spicy fragrances idk. It has aromatic as one of its main accords which I can see but it smells more soothing than spicy IMO which is probably why I like it. Some say it smells like suntan lotion which I can see but I think there’s way more to it. The darker notes make it masculine and I think this can be worn formally and obviously informally unlike Kitts and Barts which smell like you should be at a beach bar. 10/10 smell, def snag if you like lavender and coconut.

in one word, Gorgeous...if you are a fan of frags like cool water, nautica voyage, set sail st barts,kenzo pour homme and esp aqva pour homme, you will adore this... aromatic fougere with a touch of deep sea diving theme... you can smell seaweed, salty air, lavender, mild spices, woody and musky notes...amazing unique fragrance for summer and spring.decant this and take to your holiday trip...unisex fragrance so both of you can enjoy this....smells like the sea and beach...i love this more than sssb...coz it lasts longer...projection is moderate...but sipping on a corona wearing this will be grand, love the green bottle :) 9/10

At its current price found at discounters this makes for a great little spritz. Late afternoon, maybe post work out, pool side or layering. Anytime you need quick splash of citrus. If I was rich I’d probably choose Eau d'Orange Verte from Hermes, but I’m not so I don’t. If you don’t have a citrus splash I highly recommend picking one up. You’d be surprised how often it comes in handy. And all the set sail bottles look great displayed in a guest bathroom. (guests like freshening up too)

Love this cologne. ALMOST completely reminds me of our Jamaican adventures. Sea water, citrus and floral notes. The musk subtly appears in the drydown as the bergamot and lavender fade but do not disappear. This has become my #1 aquatic summer go-to. Projection and sillage are moderate, lasts about 6 hours on my skin. The one missing component, to complete the Jamaican vacation deja vu, would be a mild tropical floral note (plumeria, hibiscus or jasmine perhaps).

Martinique was a purchase in the dark. In my town I did not find to try. To my surprise Martinique is a great fragrance. I'm in love and surprised. Goes very well in warm weather and its versatility is good. I really liked and was surprised by the cost-benefit of this perfume. Longevity on my skin was 6 hours but silage was moderate. Still I like to recommend. Now I'm back to sail to St. Barts men. Congratulations Tommy Bahama!

This was one of the first fragrances I bought on my fragrance journey so I decided to wear it,let me tell u this fragrance should be ranked higher than nautica voyage and alot of other summer scents,just picture a blue water beach surrounded by fruits and trees and u got this fragrances,u will get 7 plus hours and solid projection.a 8.5 out of 10 for me and sure blind buy for 20 bucks for a 3.4

Did a comparison with Set Sail St. Barts. I do enjoy both fragrances. They are very much equal but have a few differences. Really great summertime scent. Love it. Glad I brought mine to California while I am down here for work. Will probably be wearing this a lot here in the summertime heat!

Bergamot Bergamot and lime (after it has been used and left there for a bit) Delicious stuff! I love this during the summer but while being inside, because the second I step outdoors the scent dissipates and sits so close to the skin 3

Smells great for summer... beach type vacation vibes... If Tommy Bahama for him and St Barts had a kid... mixed with a hint of suntan lotion. I love it... actually all of the TB sents. Warm weather near the ocean. Cancun in a bottle.

My 2nd favorite TB scent. Fresh, invigorating, and individualistic. Can't say I've smelled anything quite like this. Women love it. Smells more like The Riviera Maya, then Marinoque though. Just sayin... 9/10

First initial wearing: _________ In the opening this smells very similar to Set Sail St Barts but then after about 5 mins it transforms into the scent you get for the duration of the scent. After the first 5 mins this goes from smelling like St. BArts to smelling like suntan lotion with a touch of citrus. Its really pleasant and I could see myself enjoying this from time to time but this is honestly to unisex for me. (Which is the deciding factor that makes me like rather than love this fragrance) As a summer/beach type scent I strongly prefer St. Barts but I do really enjoy this 1 and I have only a small travel size right now but I do see myself buying this when my travel size runs out. Although I dont like the smell as much as ST. Barts,performance on this is much better. St Barts lasts me 3-4 hours with average projection whereas Martinique lasts 5-8 hours with above average projection. All in all id rate this a 6.5 out of 10 ! Solid scent with pretty good performance for a summer/beach scent -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After giving this scent more time my opinion has gone from like to my opinion being neutral... Before I go on about what swayed me from liking this ill go on some things I liked about it, and that is the performance. I deffinitly underestimated the power of this. At first I smelled this and thought because of the smell of the opening that this would be like ST. Barts in the way that it was a light scent and I could put 6-10 sprays and it would be fine. (MAN WAS I WRONG). YES, in the opening its very light and actualy smells very similar to St. Barts but that changes after the 1st 5 mins. It starts out smelling citrusy but then at that 5 min mark the lavender and another creamy note(Coconut wasnt mentioned but something in here smells like coconut or maybe rum) kick in and this goes from a light airy scent to a sweet,creamy scent that smells VERY much like a tanning lotion that a girl at my gym uses. Its still a pleasant scent but to me this smells very unisex and I guess I get that because of the association with that girls tanning lotion. Now on to what I said before, the 1st time I wore this I underestimated this because of the opening and applied 10 sprays and I about choked my girlfriend out.lol... She said the smell was nice but it was just too sweet and overbearing. With that said, the next day I only applied 4 sprays and this worked out great. It was still sweet but not overbearing like it was before. SO PLEASE... 4-5 sprays MAX and this will work great, anymore then that and this can be headache inducing. This not only projects great but on me lasts all day. I can put this on in the morning when I work out and it will stick around until I shower. Performance: in a nutshell this has great sillage and lasts 8-12 hours (on my skin anyways) (It kind of makes me sad that this lasts so well on me and St. Barts only lasts 2-4 hours) Im going to change my rating to 7 out of 10 ! Solid scent with great performance but for me its not my favorite.

I have never been a fan of Tommy Bahama, reason being performance. But that may be just my body chemistry that it never worked for me. I have always passed them after buying and trying some casual & formal wearings; in fact never written reviews. But Tommy Bahama SSM did something that brought me here i.e. review. One fundamental of reviewing... Never ever disregard anything. It may not work for you but might do magic for someone else, right. Okay so now back to TB SSM; well, as someone already mentioned, the shape of the bottle. I did not find it user friendly, though looks good. The sprayer is good, you dont have to try too hard which is a good thing. And now the juice, well well... Found it in another local TJMax for 19 dollars, obviously grabbed one. A lot of good reviews inclined me towards spending but I am actually happy. The opening is nice, same like aquatics do. You easily smell Bergamot with mild peppery vibes. Actually Lavender makes these vibes more prudent. I guess you wise noses out there understand what I mean. And some balancing act is anchored by Musk. Now, we know that pure essential oils specially Musk, Oakmoss etc are difficult to be used but the chemistry comes for a rescue here. So yea, that artificial musk. Whatever but TB SSM works well, its kind of linear, I mean not a complex cologne. Opening is good, gives a very good projection with nice sillage for a good amount of time. The dry down reminds me of that beach side walk, when you lick your lips; you feel you just had a tinge of salt. You know what I mean. That ocean side breeze that settles on your body... That is how I get the dry down felt on my skin. Nice as it makes you feel good, nice longevity. Actually it impressed; one application around 3 in the afternoon while sampling and I could smell that dry down at around 7 in the morning next day. Confident and wore it to office a couple of times, here in sunny California. No complaints but I felt good. Morning 7 application and I could still sniff it at 6:30 in the evening. This works for me. I will use it in rotation. Try it guys if you are in for that morning beach side walk vibes. My experience with TB SSM:- 1. Projection: 6/10 2. Sillage: 6/10 3. Longevity: 8/10 Love and Peace... *** REVIEW COMPARING THE SET SAIL LINE*** I have all 3 from the Tommy Bahama - Set Sail line which I believe is an excellent investment. The quality of scent is far better than the price you pay. Very happy customer with these 3. They also look great in your collection with the classy bottle design. They all fit a purpose and are all 'colognes' so I wouldn't advise to purchase if you want longevity. I'm going to review all 3 here as people will want to compare them (as I did before purchasing) St Barts - Smells like a high quality margarita. Perfect to wear in the summer day. Makes me instantly think of summer when smelling it. You will see I have 25 fragrances and its in my top 5 due to the smell being excellent. I wear it to the pool, summer days and spray it on my towel. Sillage is ok for 1 hour. Longevity also 2 hours but what a great 2 hours they are. St Kitts - Smells like an orange, mango and fresh water cocktail. Gorgeous scent and bottle design. Second best to St Barts for me. I wear this the same places as St Barts if I want fruity instead of boozy. Sillage ok for 1.5 hours. Longevity 3 hours. Martinique - Smells like a creamy Pina colada. Has more depth to the scent than the other 2. Very creamy on the dry down. Lasts longest out of the 3. I personally wear this after my shower when I have been at the beach or pool and have a little sunburn. When you smell it you will understand what I mean. It's like a night time Caribbean fragrance. Sillage great for 3-4 hours. Longevity I get 6 hours on my skin and my skin drinks fragrances. I hope this helps as I wish this was there to read when I was looking to buy these 3. The Yacht Life You Pretend You Have Set Sail Martinique smells like you’ve just stepped out of a breezy marina shower—salt still on your skin, seagulls overhead, and tourists arguing over overpriced oysters. It opens with sea spray, lavender, and a splash of bergamot, floating over a creamy-soft musk base that’s more resort robe than bar soap. It’s soapy in a fresh, breezy way—not like you’re scrubbing up for work, but like you’re toweling off in your beach cabana while plotting how to fake owning a yacht. As it dries down, you get a soft, powdery warmth that sticks close to the skin. Not too loud, not too sweet—just the scent of someone who knows the difference between a daiquiri and a daiquiri special. It’s perfect for pool parties, patio dinners, and telling people you’re “just back from Martinique” even though you clearly aren’t. The longevity? Meh. Spray generously—maybe twice—and hope the wind’s in your favor. Cool bottle, yes. Ergonomically disastrous? Also yes. Whoever approved the design definitely wasn’t spraying cologne on a moving boat. Still, for a scent that costs less than a round of drinks at the marina bar, it absolutely delivers. No yacht required—just vibes. An amazing portrait of a late summer day at the beach, Set Sail Martinique is the king of all beach fragrances. Many people speak rather freely of the beach when it comes to aromatic aquatics, but this is one of the very few that actually delivers a true re-creation of the smell of a visit to the beach in every way possible. Aptly Named on Basenotes best encapsulates the fragrance in his review, noting the suntan lotion, sea air and overlaying mild woods come together with tremendous realism. This is the most shocking thing about this fragrance; it's really true. You can smell the sun tan oils, salty air and wet sand. This is as close to the beach one can get synthetically and for that deserves to be measured on a different standard than most fragrances. The note pyramid doesn't really tell the story in this one, sure there is lavender and a water accord with some bergamot citrus and muskiness in the dry-down, but Martinique is far more complex than its formula. The sun tan oil and sea water are the dominating accords and Tommy Bahama show a true prowess here in capturing the essence of a vacation on the sand with few pretensions or bombastic price demands. This can be had for around $20 and for those looking more for a souvenir of last summer rather than a fragrance or perfume per se, Martinique fits the bill nicely. Longevity is outstanding at 6-10 hours routinely, with projection on the soft end of the scale. I can't stress this enough, if you want a true encapsulation of the beach, this is the fragrance to get.

Tommy Bahama Set Sail Martinique was my first Tommy Bahama cologne I bought and it has become one of my signature scents for the summer. I saw many boxes of this cologne on a shelf at Burlington's for $20 and I thought to myself how can people just walk by and not notice this gem at a bargain price. Once I got home and opened the bottle I sprayed some on my wrist and I thought to myself....wow a gem indeed! Cool Water remains king of the aquatic scents but Set Sail Martinique seems less complicated than that. Its fresh water on a citrus base which has excellent longevity. I have never vacationed out in some islands in The Caribbean so I could not tell you if this can remind you of that place. But hey I sure do remember this beautiful girl complimenting this scent at a grocery store...near the breads section. It reminds me of that place at least haha! So for the value alone is worth it and it fits perfect for the hot summer days and nights. Not the most original or strongest of the aquatics family but it tops my list when I don't have Cool Water around this summer. 9 out of 10

This has so many unlisted notes, I can't possibly identify them all but I'll rattle off the most obvious ones. Fairly sweet bergamot open with coconut and a tiny hint of lime and some other sweeter fruit I can't identify. There's a sneaky floral in here, maybe jasmine, maybe verbena. The lavender is very obvious, and I think there a bit of sage to boost it. There's some amber and suntan lotion in the middle of the experience, which goes well with the sweet and smooth coconut. My limited experience (thus far, I will update soon) is that this starts off with a moderate sillage and shrinks to the skin in less than an hour. It lingered on a test tissue over a day later, drying down to a sweet tonka and vanilla. I bought the gift set of .5oz/15ml that comes with this one, St. Bart's, Compass, and for Men/Cognac. This one's the most unique of the batch. The bottle is nice, an homage to nautical hardware and luxury resorts in tropical locales.

That "SSM" is a good pleasant scent gets no argument from me. Is it good enough to give a serious nudge to my present Nautica Blue in aquatic yen rotation ? Well....... pick your pleasure. Consistent steady bergamont/lime notes (SSM) vs pineapple/aquatic evolving into light musk (NB)? "SSM" has already garnered some compliments. Knowing in advance this was an EDC, I doubled down on my sprays. Still, I didn't get much more than 2 hours projection. I can only conclude that those claiming good longevity from this product must be a bartender in (or an avid patron of) an open door, non - air conditioned dive bar in South Florida, or a Carribean Island. My experience occured in a low 70's late Sept. day in a normal air conditioned club. I think I'll take this with me on my next FL trip. Only downside is awkward shaped bottle, and cap can be a skosh stubborn to remove. Bottle is neat looking, though. I rate this at least a very solid "TRY".

I bought the gift pack at Sears for less than $30 with Set Sail Martinique, Set Sail St Barts, Tommy Bahama For Men and Compass. Each mini bottle is 1⁄2 ounce which was way more than I needed to sample them side by side many times. The opening is bergamot and water notes. Not as good as an opening as Set Sail St Bart, which has Tequila and lime, but still pleasant. In the dry down, the lavender picks up a bit. Overall a pleasant scent that everyone will like, but it is not a ‘WOW” scent. I like Set Sail St. Barts better due to that awesome initial blast of lime and tequila. I rate this a ‘like’. I do not recommend this one as there are many better fresh sea scents out there, including Nautica Voyage, which I would recommend for everyone. Of the four pack I tested, I rate them: 1-Set Sail St Barts; 2-Compas, 3-Set Sail Martinique and 4-For Men.

Had this one for a while. It is a cross between nautica voyage & Tommy Bahama st. Bart's. No melon. Just aquatic, beach fresh salty, bergamot leaning towards a lime vibe, with Lavender. That Lavender allows for some versatility out of the warm temps. Oh, suntan lotion note as a foundation to the note pyramid, even though it is not listed lol. 3ft. projection first hour or two. Longevity 4 hrs or so. Not cloying, so you can spray very liberally to increase scent life. $20 or less 3.4oz & $10 for 1.7oz at discounters; it's a cologne so that explains the longevity & strength issue. However, it does not fade very easy; it is just not a beast. 7.5/10 for a budget summer scent. Easy buy. Review coming soon. YT shavenonthedarkside

Picked up TBSSM at TJmaxx last night for 20 bucks, I have the ST Kitts and St Barts and I like those scents. THE TBM is different. I sprayed it on after showering last night about 10 sprays because the other bottles are a little weak....at 1st the scent was very citrus smelling but in about 10 mins it made a turn for the boarder and went dark and semi-metallic on me..I started feeling a little sickly after about 20 mins....Maybe the SPRAY BOMBING i gave myself or did anybody else get a METALLIC "faint scent" during the tail end of dry down?...... Thinking of giving it a 2-4 sprays only and see what happens...if it doesn't change, then Tommy B Martinque just is not my cup of tea....

Between St. Barts and St. Kitts, this is the one that will put some hair on your chest. Some people said they get a coconutty, suntan lotion out of this and i just cannot smell that at all. If St. Barts is a pina colada by the beach and St. Kitts a fruity drink by the sunset, Martinique is a buffed mature dude at the deck of a cruise ship drinking Martini (for the pun) solo enjoying the night breeze instead of going crazy at the dance floor. Don't get me wrong, this has summer all over it but is more of a "manly" vibe. Clean, sober musk with a very aquatic citrus tone in it. St. Kitts still is my favorite from Tommy Bahama, but Martinique definetly hits hard too.

My intro to Tommy Bahama began like most others with St Barts. I really enjoy that one and this one gets high marks too. The bergamot here gives a little bit of the lime vibe from Barts but the main note here is lavender. I wouln't have thought a lavender fragrance could be made to smell beachy and like suntan lotion but they've done it. Performance for me is about equal to Barts for me and is very good for an EDC. I get about 6 hours with it. As with other Tommy Bahamas, the bottle looks fairly nice but the shape and size of the 100ml bottle makes it awkward to handle. I think St Barts is still my favorite from this house so far but Martinique is up there.

A citrus scent at first blast, it dries to a nice lavender & salt water. It also has a dark element on skin when really dried down. It reminds me of St Barts and a bit of Bvlgari Black with some dried lavender flowers Its very soothing, calming to the senses and still recalls a tropical salty island. A good scent for anytime & season. Its fresh enough for the day, versatile enough for the afternoon & mature and dark enough for the evening on dry down. What is also good about it is its not a generic aquatic fragrance as every other aquatic scent smells the same or synthetic, this one changes and becomes something else for the senses.

Nothing remarkable about this one. I put it on and thought, "I've smelled a dozen colognes just like it and I never wore any of them twice." It's a drug store quality scent: inexpensive and not too offensive. But no one is gonna compliment you on it and no one will ever make this their signature scent, because sadly the performance is just feeble. No one will smell this ten minutes after you put it on and you'll barely smell it on your skin in an hour and I really over-sprayed. It's Cuba Paris, Yacht Man level poor performance, which is disappointing after having a relatively good experience with Tommy Bahama Maritime.

Martinique is a good causal-wear summer cologne, and can be purchased for $19.99. This is an excellent summer cologne for running errands such as going to: Lowes, Target, Walmart, Gym, Mall, Post Office, et cetera,. You get the point. :-p Martinique has an unusual type of smell that's difficult to make sense of, but ultimately smells quite nice, and is easy to wear, and long lasting (10+ hours on my skin). Martinique's mix of notes, smells mildly like coconuts to my nose which makes it enjoyable to wear during the summer, if you want a cologne that has a beach vacation type of vibe. Overall: 6.5/10

Your typical freshie. Martinique smells like a classic fresh/summer fragrances from the late 1990s/early 2000s. One could swear s/he smelled it before even if s/he haven't really. Very typical freshie. It starts with a sharp aquatic note that dominates from beginning to end with a a noticeable lavender & bergamot notes & a shy support in the background from musk. The water note is the foreground, the start, & the end of Martinique. The water note here with the rest of the notes crest a sharp & clean scent. Nothing much going on here: simple, likable, inoffensive, mass appealing. A "Like" & pass.

Refreshing and cool during summer and somehow lacking quality. Acquatic notes pair up with lackluster bergamot and scratchy, intense herbal lavender. Bergmot fades away with some of the strength of the top notes leaving a slightly herbal medicinal lavender, watery notes and a touch of synthetic musk. A signature 'sharpie marker' note that haunts many cheap colognes comes through here, perhaps it is the high heat today and I will give this one the benefit of the doubt. Projection and sillage leave a bit to be desired while longevity is fantastic for an aquatic. Score 5/10

Luxury Aromatic - Aquatic (Fresh) cologne for men, released in 2010, The fragrance does not last long, and this is normal for cologne. The scent of the fragrance is very luxurious, giving you a feeling of summer vacation in front of the sea and under the trees, suitable for men over 40 years old. The scent of lavender is noticeable and professionally blended, making it unobtrusive whether you wear the fragrance or someone notices it on you. The bottle is very luxurious, made of heavy, dark green glass, the only flaw of the bottle is its gold plastic cap.

This does not smell coconutty or like mosquito repellent to me.. This thing lasts A LIFETIME on my skin, I have only a handful of fragrances that really hang around and this is one of them. That being said, this is not one of my favorites. Although blue lavender, iced bergamot, and white woods do sound like a pretty interesting combination. I think of all the set sail line I like St. Kitts the most. This is on the synthetic side of things, but not bad at all. I think one should get their paws on St. Kitts and St. Barts before this one.

Nice fragrance. If you can find it for under $30, it's a solid buy. Jus get it. Especially if its during the hot months. If you already have the St Barts, it's almost throwing your money away on another bottle. BUT, I do tend to lean more toward this one because there’s just a tinge more aromatic lavender here and less booze than the St Bart's and more powdery. Again, it's a solid buy for an under $30 fragrance. If you're looking for a budget friendly summer scent; maybe something to play with, get this - you'll be glad you did.

This is a good one for an eau de cologne concentration. I get about 7 hours on my clothes. You will get little whiffs of it here and there after about 6 hours. Not bad! This is a nice sea breeze, oceanic, aquatic fragrance. It smells like guava but it doesn't have guava in it. It's very pleasant and very youthful smelling and middle age men could pull this off to. It's fruity and aquatic and you'll notice the lavender up top. An easy blind buy and signature fragrance! I give this a 8.9/10

As I'm about to compare this perfume with Perry Ellis 18 for men, the product didn't show up yet in fragrantica. I hope someone will take care of it very soon. Guess what, Perry Ellis 18 and Martinique is very..very similar, even the deep note. I have both, sprayed on both arms and surprisingly, smells are like apple to apple. If anyone else probably owned the brand too, please comments. Don't know if this is a coincidence or products were made in the same factory.

I know I’m in the minority here, but I actually think I prefer this one to St. Barts. There’s just a tinge more aromatic lavender here and less booze. I’m not entirely sure why I like it more other than those couple of things. I guess it could also be the slightly better performance. In any case, it’s quite nice and did a great job for me on my summer beach vacation this year. It’s not anything amazing, but it does its job well.

All the Tommy Bahama Set sails ( St. Barts, St.Kitts, and Martinique) would be dumb reaches for a day at the beach. Out of the three, Martinique is the beachiest...As others have noted, it does have a strong sunscreen vibe to it which makes it perfect for hanging out in the hot sun...don't try to dress it up or make it what it isn't...accept it for the shorts and flip flops scent that it is, and you will enjoy it.

Been from Puerto Rico, i know exactly how the Caribbean sea smells like. This is what SSM smells like, puré sea water. Salty, with a bit of a seaweed smell. This is a softer versión of Bvlgari Aqua, very similar, not as deep. Longevity issues, off course....but use the deodorant, after shave cream and body spray and problem solved. You can get all of these for peanuts. For the price, it is a good Cologne.

A brighter younger Brother to Bvlgari Marine. An aquatic with seaweed greenness and almost has a vibe of melancholy. 4 to 6 hours with fair/weak projection , but the first hour it is strong. I use this for a spring lazy day fragrance or a rainy day fragrance. I find it interesting and enjoy coming back to it from time to time. recommended from discounters, 25 plus

Very-nicely balanced aquatic fragrance with a unique character that gives a nod to the 80's powerhouses. I am not a big fan of the aquatics, but this one is exceptional. Lasted 8-9 hours on me, becoming trace afterward- excellent for a day frag! I received several compliments on this one while out shopping- apparently it is quite sexy!

Another enjoyable fragrance from Tommy Bahama. The water notes are noticeable, as with the other Set Sail releases, but this fragrance is not as bright and that is not a bad thing. The musk aspect adds a more mature vibe. Great summer fragrance that does well during the day and even better in the evening.

Makes me feel like Im lounging on a beach with an umbrella over my head and sand between my toes. On my skin, the cologne is very bergamont heavy, definitely not the most intense smell ever but still very clean, like soap. Reminds me a bit of hotel soap. Overall, Id rate it 8.5/10

Well and accurately reviewed below. I've worn several TB fragrances and find them pleasant. None have lured me into more than occasional wearing. More of a "fun and different" fragrance than something to write home about.

I guess it's pleasant. Doesn't last long though. Smells like a small coastal town. Weird sunscreen vibe. Overall decent for the price though. Just make sure to spray it like 5,495,213 times.

Smells pleasantly like sunscreen. Reminds me of beach days, light smell so you may need to spray a lot. Got it for 25 at Bealls and consider it well worth the price for a 3.4 oz bottle.

Strong for an edc gets compliments and is not bad on linen it lasts I use this alot on rainy days or by the pool spray the t shirt your gonna put on after swimming so refreshing
