Tommy Bahama for Men

It smells like Nautica Voyage. But, there is more to the story. I bought a small 5-pack of Tommy Bahama scents as I love a few, like Set Sail St. Barts, so I thought I would try the pack because I found it for a screaming deal. Because the bottle is diamond shaped and ambery, I expected something dry and woodsy, but the moment I put on Tommy Bahama for Men, I realized it was totally the opposite. The sweet, summery, beachy scent smelled... familiar. What was it? After a minute I realized it smelled like Nautica Voyage! I was convinced they were identical. I went to my cologne closet, pulled out the Nautica, and sprayed them both on paper. Nope, not a clone. Not even close! Nautica Voyage is less sweet and in your face, but still in a very similar melony vein. I knew I wasn't crazy when I came to this site and found that many, many people had noticed the same thing. To the people who say it doesn't smell like Voyage, the fact that I came to the conclusion that they smell the same on my own, not knowing others had made the same comparisons, would argue otherwise. Sure, it isn't a clone, but without side-by-side comparison I was fooled. I like it, and I have worn it several times this summer. Great scent with excellent longevity. Redundant if you have Nautica Voyage, UNLESS you are a huge fan of Voyage but want a little variety now and then to appreciate the nuances of each, or you want something slightly sweeter and stronger than Voyage.

I don’t do decants in the summer. I just use the whole damned bottle ! I lift weights and work hard. And when it’s hot I spray down. If that’s you then this cheap bottle is your friend during the day. Or Get the big refillable decants . This old man has to show these 20-30 year olds how it’s done. Keep up now I miss the original so much. But this one here is Nautica voyage with all arohnd better quality. Blast of Melon. Smells so fresh. I can eat up a bottle of this in no time when it is hot. Spray spray spray and nobody will be offended. In fact I hear people all the time saying I love that smell. It’s melon. They want to know what it is but they don’t know where it’s coming from. I started spraying it just so I can witness it. And it never becomes a cloying nose blinding mess that pisses off the cologne Nazis. So I guess you can say it’s good for the office. But if you work like workhorse. Doing real man’s work. This stuff makes keeping the middle age man boobs off of you way more tolerable. Such a stress reliever during the sweaty season. I get this for $16.00 so why not. Last me most of the summer for me . It’s like the guys say down below. Weak. So go buy something else. That way there’s more for me. And I can spray spray if you don’t want it on you get the hell out my way 😂

One spray and wear in Macy's today, and I'm obsessed!!! What a wonderfully, sweet, juicy, fruity, spicy, ambery, tropical fragrance with a dry-down reminiscent of a true, saline ocean breeze, ala Blvgari Aqua. This fragrance, however, makes Blvgari Aqua smell positively foul. Masterfully blended, as one can individually distinguish all of the notes listed above as they swirl about in this orchestral symphony of a scent. A MUST BUY for warm weather as it dances magically, playfully, around the wearer, never too overbearing, obvious, or strident. Sillage is absolutely perfect for a warm, sunny day, however, I feel that longevity could be a bit better. Its ultimate transformation into a salty, fragrant, oceanic breeze makes this delightful voyage well worth the price of a ticket. 8.75/10 A juicy, balmy, sweet, sumptuous, expertly crafted fragrance from top to bottom, however one which could use a wee more wind in its sails. Bravo!!! UPDATE: Now that I own a FB of this, I must say, longevity is fantastic!!! I can detect it well over eight hours later, and as if finally fades it becomes a soft, sensual, lingering, beautifully rendered amber upon my skin.

I wore a sample of this to work last week. Honestly I put on too much. On of my female officemates caught a wiff and she was in love. She said whatever this is I needed to buy it. It kind of smells like clean natural body oder after a bath to me. I wasn't that impressed. I will try it again to see if my nose can pick up what she liked so much. Update 6/18/18: I just got a bottle of this in the mail. Upon my 1st spray it was a perfect match. It is fresh, and clean, manly and sweet. Not overpowering. Long lasting skin scent after 2 hours. I have been searching for a watery, fresh clean scent and this appears to be it. Where nautica voyage gives me a headache if I use more than 2 sprays on my wrists and I can't wear NV on my neck; this gem is much more wearable, no headache or sneezing from these awesome ingredients. It is exactly how I want to smell on a hot summer day.

Tried this at Khol's today, I can't comment on longevity or projection, but it seems like its probably pretty good as the bars above say. As for smell, its Nautica Voyage, almost 100%. The opening has a little violet leaf in in (which I don't like), but 10 minutes later its Nautica Voyage. I'm not sure if it being basically a Voyage rip-off is good thing or a bad thing. Its substantially more expensive (about double voyages price), but with the reviews saying Nautica may have been reformulated, this is a pretty good replacement if longevity isn't good enough on voyage anymore.

I first purchased this around Dec 2013 I think? Anyway it was amazing! I got a ton of compliments and it was my favorite scent. However I purchased like 4 more bottles online since then (through different sellers) and the fragrance is so much weaker. Maybe it was reformulated or they turned it from a toilette to a cologne. I'm not sure but it doesn't project or last as long. It was a 10. Now not so much. Or maybe I've been getting non legit bottles.

This cologne smells like a slightly spicy, tangerine-melon, with a touch of rum. It's a little thicker or darker than most citrus-y aquatics, making it ideal for spring/summer/fall, days and nights. However, I've been wearing it this winter since I just got a full bottle, and unlike most summer aquatics, it is just heavy enough to cut through the winter cold and get noticed unusually well. The compliments pour in over this stuff.

Opening is fantastic... Cologne concentration so don't expect any longevity. Watermelon, Pear and Juicy Tangerine 🍊 I'm surprised how much I like this. Refreshing bright cologne. Performance is on par with St. Barts. I will wear this a lot in the heat and carry an atomizer. Got it for 10 bucks. Highly recommend for warm weather. Reminds me a bit of Acqua Di Parma Bergamotto di Calabria on a budget.

This begins with such a wonderful juicy mandarin orange. Not overly sweet or tangy, but more of a fruity orange. Imagine an orange was just bit into with the juices that cannot help but pour out. This reminds me of Clinique's Happy, only it lasts for a good longer amount of hours than that one. This one quenches your thirst without having to drink anything. Simply delicious.

This is 70% Voyage and 30% Milliseme Imperial then watered down to about 3% concentration. It smells very nice... BUT... it is very weak at projection and longevity. You have to wear an Hawaiian shirt when wearing this cologne.

A better and longer lasting version of Nautica Voyage. I'm definitely taking this one to the beach with me this year. Great job by Tommy Bahama on this one.

Love the opening, smells like candy

Tommy Bahama For Him opens with a soft projection of fresh, mildly sweet, salty, citrusy, fruity, and airy notes. The opening is very light, fresh, diluted, and pleasant. The fruity and citrus notes are very soft, they blend creating a generic fruity and citrus note. The violet leaf creates an airy, breezy, and fresh touch, the ginger and coriander are a spicy fresh touch. The Tiere flower adds a soft white and musky note. Not described officially, the fragrance contains a light salty note. Other than some sweetness, the base notes are very light and almost unnoticeable. Once Tommy Bahama for Him Cologne has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a very faint, slightly sweet, fruity, airy, aquatic fragrance with soft white floral and musky accords. The fragrance feels airy, breezy, casual, cheap, diluted, delicate, disappointing, diurnal, faint, fresh, fruity, low-quality, marine, refreshing, slightly salty, short-lived, sporty, slightly sweet, unisex, weak, and pleasant. BATCH REVIEWED: 2020. WOW RATING: 2/10. A very basic fragrance, body spray-like. Unimpressive. DISLIKE RATING: 1/10. The fragrance contains light salt and musky accords. UNIQUENESS: 2/10. I find this to be a very nice easy wearing fragrance. I find I wear this a lot more than I thought I would. It's one of my no-brainer fragrances I toss on and don't worry about. It's got a melon type of scent. Almost like a ramune soda, and less like an Air Spencer air freshener if that makes any sense. It's a salty, clean, melon smell. There's a mint note in the background I like too, it makes it a bit more interesting. It's also affordable. I prefer this much more than Nautica Voyage, I find this tends to be less synthetic. It's still synthetic, don't get me wrong, but it's just less so. Voyage is more available and cheaper, and I don't think the difference is massive really. They share a lot of the same qualities. I just prefer this one. It's like an old windbreaker you throw on before you go out of the house. It's always there, and won't upset anyone. It's not too loud, not too plain either it's just nice. If I had to compare this to a song, I'd compare it to Today by the Smashing Pumpkins. A song I can play around most company without any complaints. Sure, some people will complain, but not everyone likes coffee either. It's interesting, it puts you in a good mood, but it's not going to knock your socks off. It's also not going to knock people down, and have people running away from you either. It's pleasant!

Tommy Bahamas for Men is a nice smelling scent but it gets lost in the crowd. To me it smells a little bit like Curve Appeal for Men though not as in the Acqua di Gio territory as Curve Appeal can get mixed with Acqua di Gio and Kenneth Cole Reaction. Tommy Bahamas for Men has a very strong open with aquatic watermelon and tangerine notes. It then goes into a spicy direction even from the ginger in the open and coriander. In the base it goes sweet with a amber heavy and slight tonka note. Tommy Bahamas for Men fall in the typical Tommy Bahamas trend of casual spring/summer scents. It is good for work and works for vacations as well. I find performance wise it isn't great but it is an eau de cologne like most Tommy Bahamas scents. It last about an hour with moderate projection and about five more as a skin scent. Tommy Bahamas for Men is nice but it is not really all that unique. For this I rate it at a 6.8 out of 10. I have a small 15 ml bottle and I don't think I'll replace it when it is done since I already own Curve Appeal for Men.

I'll say right off the bat, if you're looking for the same magic that was in the original Tommy Bahama Men, this ain't it. Not even close. (And I'm still trying to figure out why it was discontinued). That being said, this is decent. It's certainly much better than the TB flanker sh*t show you'll find in discount stores; the "set sails" and what not. Yes it does closely resemble Nautica Voyage, but with watermelon and tangerine pushed to the forefront instead of apple. I gotta tell you: it ain't that big of a difference. On the upside it does last a very long time. As one reviewer here said, it is an upgraded version of Voyage. But only slightly so. It's not worth the fifty plus bucks you're paying for a full sized bottle. There are too many other much better choices for the same money. Good, but until the price comes down to the 20-30 dollar range where it belongs, save your coins.
