Hilfiger Man Dark Midnight

I am quite confounded, to say the least. This was either not released in the US or it was a limited edition. I have searched eBay (under every possible parameter) and Amazon (six pages of Hilfigers!) and NADA!! If anyone has this cologne or knows where I can get it, please PM me. TH is one of those Houses I have a very sentimental attachment to and am trying to keep my Hilfiger collection as complete as possible (except of course for the annual summer releases, I will get to those one day as well but am concentrating on the pillar scents and their flankers). I am grateful to have this forum and database to knpw about such things and have a network through which to source them. Really surprised this one has stayed in the dark these last two years. I never saw it in store, so I’m assuming it’s relative anonymity is due to its lack of availability. At any rate, I found one on eBay for $20 and got it. I must say, I’m actually really enjoying it. While it has the DNA of typical, safe designer smells, it veers a different, and quite masculine direction in the drydown. It’s literally just extremely enjoyable. If you’re an aventus fan, try to recall the first time you smelled it... if you’re like me, you thought “whoa... this is what a man should smell like” - this scent also gives me that feeling. Really really like it - and I have a strong feeling this would be a massive people pleaser. Give it a shot! 8/10

First let me say I have no rules when it comes to fragrance. I use whatever I feel best suits me at that given moment. That being said, there are definitely some fragrances better suited to certain climates than others. I found TH Dark Midnight a definite brother to TH Man Sport. It is an intense fruity smell up top but has a deep woody base that brings that masculine aroma very nicely. Nothing offensive here and as the description from TH states a night time fragrance no problem but I can see this as easily something I would wear from time to time during the day. Just a nice masculine scent that should be enjoyed by just about any man.

Just noticed this in a shop today and quickly applied a spray, as i was about to walk a way this beautiful smell just hit me like a glow, i just had to "wow that was a good smell i said" to the lady behind the counter, and she said they just got it and everyone was already sold, they only had the tester, i do like the other two in the same series so this is a buy as soon as possible for me, it might not be special so try before you buy, and for longvity i dont know yet all i can say is in the end it started better than it finishes it seems, but still a good scent.

This is a nice spring/fall evening/nighttime fragrance for me. It is fresh and fruity and smells really nice. I will probably buy this soon. Thumbs up!

Blind-bought this 30ml for $19.99 at Winner's. Hadn't bought Tommy clothes in well over a decade, and as for their scents...just refills of oldies! Faves incl. Tommy T, Hilfiger Athletics, True-Star...where I left off...then I saw this the other day, with this weird name, and so little for travel :) (All my bottles are so damn big! lol). Just sprayed it today after opening. Hmm, what does it remind me of? The original Dolce & Gabanna Pour Homme. Apparently they both have neroli, tonka, cedar, so that explains that. I'm okay with this, as I always enjoyed the D & G scent, but never acquired it, just sprayed on at places, lol...and then it kept smelling different...ugh. So it's like I got it after all! ;) lol. It's not 100%...just...90%! :P Also, the patchouli and sandalwood are in CK Encounter Fresh which it reminds me of when this scent opens.

This is one of those unmistakably masculine scents that has a lot of familiarity about it. You'd have smelled this scent profile before, so it isn't anything special. It gives me a lot of David Beckham's Pure Instinct vibes. I wish the lemon and pineapple were more prominent up top, and I was hoping for more sandalwood and myrrh in the dry-down. This is an okay, generic masculine scent, and you won't pay too much for it. Only for casual settings; it is not going to wow anyone.

Very impressive-looking design, perhaps like a bottle of rubbing alcohol from a troubled Eastern European nation.
