Tommy Girl Summer Ocean Wave

Even though I didn’t wear Tommy Girl, (I was a Ralph Lauren girl) I recognize its DNA in this at first sniff. I think it’s the mid notes that I recognize, and I’m not sure if they stand out because TG was so ubiquitous in high school, or if it really was that unforgettable to me. I actually really love this scent though, it’s feminine and pleasant in the best way, youthful but not immature. I love fragrances with rose or lily of the valley notes, and this has both. I happen to believe its limited longevity (2.5 hours, tops) makes this inoffensive and perfect for a sweltering summer night out, which is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I think it remains a bit linear as it dries and eventually sits very close to the skin, perfect for a night out dancing IMO. I appreciate a summer scent that doesn’t rely on citrus to make it summer appropriate.

I have original Tommy Girl and Tommy Girl Sun-Kissed. Tommy Girl Summer Ocean Wave is nice and it does remind me of my grandma's garden. It is fresh, light, and floral. The inspiration was the lush green floral areas of Hawaii. It does fit that vibe. It reminds me of the floral fragrance emerging from jasmine and plumería. The green essence from orchids and anthuriums. I remember the beautiful rains on the big island and the dewy gardens. Ah, good times.

This is lovely in the heat of Summer. Warm, soft, floral, amber, woody. It's light as a cloud. The first time I sprayed it, I thought oh no! Another typical fruity floral, something reminiscent of Tommy Girl, quite quickly it morphs into something else & I am so enjoying it. It has a feeling of relaxed, comfortable, femininity. I think it's great for day wear when one wants to feel a bit elevated & beautiful for those Summer nights.
