Tommy Into The Surf

This is one of the best cheapies I have put my nose on. Smells real fresh, fruity with a touch of sweetness. Smells like something you'd want to drink. Very fine release by the house of Tommy.

I got a 100ml bottle from Ross today for $17. I love the original Tommy, is one of the few scent that brings back memory and is so pleasant to smell and great performace overall. I blind bought into the surf thinking it would be a more fresh, summer friendly scent than the original This a fresh and spicy fragrance. The orange note is noticeable in the opening along with a sweet and spicy note which I believe comes from the cardamom and other spices. The scent itself is not bad, opening is the best part, it feels fresh on the skin and it smell good in the air. My issue with this fragrance is in the dry down. I get a weird smell on my skin when I smell it from close.It smell a bit sour and kind of fecal. I believe it could due to the violet, a very earthy vetiver or the combination of the bitter orange with another note. Performance is also very poor.Longevity is about two to three hours projection appears to be minimal. I only got have this for a day but I'm already disappointed with the performance and because of that unpleasant smell. This is my second fragrance from the house but I still want to get my hands on endless blue. I only recommend to buy this fragrance if you find it at your local store for less than $20, are a fan of the house or don't own any of the other Tommy fresh type fragrances and want to add it to the collection. Other than that I don't recommend to buy this fragrance. Overall I believe is average for the price I paid but I feel this was an unnecessary release and there is nothing special about this fragrance. Maybe I will learn to like this fragrance with time or maybe the fragrance could mature and then the weird smell could go away. I only see myself reaching for this bottle whenever I go out to walk my dog, when I'm just chilling at the house and as a room freshener, but I can see this as a good cheapie for the spring and summer.

Has nothing to do with teenage surfers and does not have a soap vibe at all. It has a fruity, ginger, and slightly spicy sweet vibe to it which any age could wear as it is just a fun summer fragrance. Yes, it is not an earth shaker. While not boozy,it's in the same genre as Tommy Bahama St. Barts, St. Kitts. Just a chill summer scent. Not cheap smelling. Attention fragsnobs, this is clearly a frag for folks who don't have to take stuff so seriously. Ps. Just sprayed it on my arm to remind me of the notes. Wife just walked by and said...ummmm you smell good!! Whatever it is ...I LOVE THAT!! Her response to this is even better than I thought this was....interesting....

I dislike this highly. Cheap and pungent to my nose. I imagine the gingery/bitter lemon top notes make the opening very dislikeble in my opinion. I bought this partially by accident and now wondering what to do with a bottle of this horrible stuff.

This is rank ... I cannot wait to get it off of my skin! I blind-bought this (to be honest, I really like the design on the box and the name...I must say, very clever marketing) I though: "even if I haven't smelled it, Tommy Hilfiger is too big of a designer to release something that would be unpleasant;...at the worst I am going to end up with some American standard smell" boy was I wrong... this is much worse than your typical American Standard smell (i.e. Abercrombie, Perry Ellis, Liz Claiborne)...lesson learnt, I SHALL NEVER - EVER - BLIND BUY AGAIN! This is cheap, headache inducing, generic, chemically dusty and smokey, 90s deodorant/body spray. It feels like I just sprayed Lynx or Axe on my arm. I cannot smell any bitter orange nor clary sage (OR if I smell these two notes they must be so synthetic I don't even recognise them as such).I smell a lot of cardamom and a lot of violet. In my opinion, this tries to mimic perfumes like Paco Rabanne's Ultraviolet Man and CK Shock...but this ends up smelling much more like most of the discounted perfumes you see in places like the Parfume Shop (i.e. Jasper Conran, Beckham, Ted Baker, Michael Kors, etc. ). Now I understand why one can find so many ~into the surf~ on ebay for nothing.
