Tory Burch Absolu

I love lily of the valley in Diorissimo. Lily of the valley is lovely by itself. Not always, but most often it's a note I don't care for mixed. Except for THIS PERFUME. This is what I crave more and more often now. I've settled into my "me" smells. They are most lovely, but versatile. They are just a "good smelling, lovely lady" smells. This is one of them. This is a favorite for sure. Perhaps even the one I would suggest as a perfect perfume for anyone at any age, along with Si Passione. It goes from teen to ninety in 15 seconds. How's that for a track record? I think we should just copy the page for Dolce and Gabbana The One and paste it here. This is all those things and more. This is Chloe, without having to wait for it to settle a few minutes. This is SO many perfumes, without their teensy dislikes. It's just The One to have for me! Thank you my sweetie pie son! Edit---This smells pretty much identical to my Chloe edp! I don't have the best nose to discern individual notes but I'm willing to bet you smell at least a bit of Chloe also!

I fell in love with this fragrance in 2015. Its very bright and elegant. Perfect year round and works great it heat & humid heat. I'm so sad this is discontinued. I stumbled across - Perfume de la Tierra by Ceremonia - and I must say there are a lot of similarities. Pdlt is more fruity but I still really enjoy it.

Thus far, I'm in the minority of people who actually really enjoy this fragrance! It is, for the $/mL, a little pricey and hard to justify... but looking at it objectively - a nice scent! While the original Tory Burch fragrance was entirely too sharp and citric for my liking, this Absolu flanker is like a cashmere sweater, retaining very little (read: almost none) of the original characteristics of it's predecessor. The initial spray is a bit of a jumble to get through - are we trying to be fruity? Sophisticated floral? Musky? Where are we going here. It's like hitting a six way intersection a minute into your roadtrip. The drydown is a delight though! Nice and smooth, but otherwise nondescript in terms of uniqueness, as others have said. No harsh, sharp edges, there's a bit of everything - some floral notes, some musk, that "soft, fuzzy, people-pleasing designer base of vanilla, vetiver, and wood"... you've smelled something like this before - Heck, I'M still trying to figure out where I've smelled this before! I think I'm drawing similarities to a mix of the Chanel Chance EDP, and maybe Miss Dior Le Parfum. That's the *feel* of this fragrance - a thick department store "luxury" scent, bottled sophistication, that was absolutely the aim of this scent - whereas the Tory Burch original scent feels more casual, every day, etc. The sillage is moderate, and the longevity is decent! About six or seven hours, one one to two sprays. I'm debating if this is full-bottle worthy! I don't have many scents like this in my collection, but it's also not something i'd wear all too often. Are there BETTER scents like this one - sure! This is just one that works for me which doesn't result in a headache! Definitely worth a sample from your local department store!

Tory Burch Absolu by Tory Burch is stripped of the originals citrus and floral top notes, except for jasmine – I do smell jasmine here. I get a very clean lily of the valley, some pleasant vetiver, a pop of pink pepper, and a very woody cedar wood that is more wood than cedar – it is rather dry. This was an interesting interpretation of the original because I was expecting a stronger citrus with a spicy woody base, but it really is just the base of the original. I do not find the potency to be any stronger that the regular eau de parfum. Whatever you do not base you opinion off of smelling this on paper, it is definitely meant to be worn and experienced on the skin. On the plus side I layers great with the original and other sunny citrus scents. I like it, but if they discontinued this and released a reformulation that smelled more distinct; I would support that!

I actually get a lot of pink pepper and cedar on my skin. The fruity aspect is more underlying, but there. I enjoy the airy floral aspect to this. I find this to be a very fresh and clean scent despite the woodsiness. Currently wearing a sample of it & chose it because it's a rainy, humid day and want something light, yet happy and nothing really too distinct. Probably won't purchase anytime soon, if at all, but would take small samples for random use like this. Only been wearing for fifteen minutes or so...I shall see how it develops :)

I've sampled both the original Tory Burch and this Absolu...they are quite distinct from each other...I find the original very feminine but not your typical 'fresh, sharp' citrus. This Absolu is absolutely unisex, which I don't tend to go for...I usually want my perfume to make me feel feminine although this does make me feel put-together and sophisticated; I really like it! Perhaps it's the cedar and vetiver; I could just as easily enjoy this on my husband, I believe...will have to get him to try it.

pretty unique female scent. Sometimes I hate it, sometimes I love it-- just depends on the season. To me, it smells like a sunny sunday fall walk in a canadian forest trail, with a big luxurious scarf and leather purse and gloves. A little cold nose and a full face of makeup. Womanly but not overly feminine.

Fruity Berry opening. But more sophisticated and matured, not candy-like. Comes off to me as pears. sweet slightly medicinal finish, Long lasting, even in hot florida weather. Not bad, goes with the fashion line. Doesn't really stand out for me. Longevity: Long lasting sillage: moderate.

I really like this. I’m very surprised because it’s not my usual gourmand or oriental however, this is actually a beautiful fragrance. It’s floral and citrus but with a nice richness. There’s such a friendliness to it. A very happy scent. It will be lovely in spring. Fun blind buy.

Such beautiful bottle. The scent is so elegant. Fresh floral, makes me think of a successful professional woman in office with a touch of femininity. Blended well. Floral like those expensive department store perfume section. Elegant and good for all seasons.

Purchased this when it came out. One of my all time favorites perfumes. I think it's a multi seasonal scent but I tend to wear more in the winter and spring.

On me this is very spicy, woodsy with musky dry down. I’m surprised that there is tuberose, my all time favorite, but here I don’t get any at all. I love to guess notes, got totally wrong this one, like anise, licorice lol. How could pepper create all that spiciness ?? Yeah I may could agree on bit of soapy jasmine, vetiver and cedar but that’s about it. Rose hmm... maybe. Those woodsy spicy frags are usually too heavy, this one is light and fresh. Not a bad frag, just not mine cup of tea.

If I could work with a perfumer to design a fragrance like celebrities do, this is what I would come out with. But it’s not what I would have expected, and I’d ask to go back and make some changes. It’s a great foundation to build off of but lacks distinction. I don’t think it would even take much tweaking to be more interesting and unique. It’s very versatile and anyone that says they actually dislike it is just being dramatic. But it is a bit boring.

It smelled okay on paper but I didn't like the way this smelt on me. I'm not sure how to describe it, other than this didn't suite my personality. Perhaps I would describe this as a perfume for someone in their 40's and early 50's who is quite conservative. I tried to wash it off but it's pretty potent. It's not a bad perfume, but it wouldn't be something I would buy or wear again.

Tory Burch fragrances have only recently started being sold in Australia. My local department store stocks a small selection of Tory Burch perfumes, and I decided to introduce myself to this house by trying Tory Burch Absolu. Tory Burch Absolu is very dependant on the right climate and season. I made the mistake of testing this fragrance on a warm, humid day. Don't let the floral aspects of this fragrance confuse you into thinking that this perfume works well in the heat. Pink pepper and cedar are by far the most dominant notes to my nose and unfortunately, the heat only amplifies these accords, making it smell rather sharp and bitter on my skin. I took a break from Tory Burch Absolu and revisited it on a much cooler day and found it much more palatable. The lily of the valley and sandalwood notes softened the pink pepper and cedar, providing a smooth creamy texture which smelt more in line with the perfumer's vision. Tory Burch is a soapy, creamy floral with a rich woodsy and peppery drydown. I consider it to be very pleasant, however, it's also "outside of the box" in terms of originality. I don't think it will be well received by everyone and I would strongly advise against blind purchasing this fragrance. Unfortunately, as I have never tried the original Tory Burch EDP, I'm not sure as to how they compare, but from what I can gather reading other reviews, they are not similar at all and smell quite different.

I don't like this fragrance, but I can't really pinpoint where exactly it goes wrong, other than I really do not like the smell. I know that's not helpful, but it's... odd. Like it tries too hard (so weird to describe a fragrance as trying too hard) to be sophisticated. It smells really unbalanced, too strong, yet too bland at the same time, almost a mishmash of wannabe fruity/clean/classic, but it's more like "sophisticated" bathroom cleaner... that's very potent and you just want to get away from. I don't feel I'm expressing myself very well, but that's all I've got on this one!

I kind of agree with the former reviewer, it just isn't anything special, it is absolutely not distinctive in any way..I almost prefer the first Tory Burch!! It is floral, vaguely so,, them seems to disappears real fast., so no longevity there...I wouldn't recommend spending the money on it!!

This is just a simple clean scent. Would wear this on a 5:00am morning date during the spring time. I got it as a gift, once its gone its gone. Enjoying it while I have it.
