My Past Selves' Flowers

Toskovat has done it again. I'm in love. Honestly, I hope Toskovat lives on for many years to come, it’s such a wonderful brand, I adore it. I'm surprised at how negative the written reviews are for this one. This is a very lovely fragrance. This fragrance definitely has oud, it has familiar rubbery undertone, probably the same oud ingredient as in In The Belly of The Beast. It's very odd, it almost has an aquarium smell to it. It is musty, mineral-like and industrial. For some reason, I love it. On my skin, Past Selves Flowers is a linear, decent-lasting scent and it transports me somewhere mentally that I can't really define but its absolutely captivating and nostalgic. It's floral and fruity, but not overtly girly nor mature. Just a "young adult" fragrance, perhaps during tough times. There’s a sense of outdoorsiness but not quite, somewhere between rural and urban, with a subtle sour-candy sweetness mixed in. Definitely pineapple. And when I read this has a mangosteen note, I can absolutely smell it. Unlike some other Toskovat perfumes which are abstract, this one delivers exactly what it promises in my opinion. Maybe it's a skin chemistry thing. It kind of reminds me of Civet by Zoologist, Nightingale, and Nostos by ELDO. Which is an odd combination I know, but it works beautifully. I am having trouble comparing this to anything else. Maybe Pining Dew 2 by Toskovat'. Maybe... But not peppery at all. It’s addictive!!! Four hours of wear is nothing for how much I enjoy this one. I keep reapplying because it smells so beautiful on my skin. It's so hard to describe this. You need to try it in order to understand.

This is aggressively melancholic, in a very good way. Wilting florals and incense that go hand in hand, complimented by resins. Definitely get the opium note, and it is beautiful. A very gothic scent, finally, without patchouli. I only have a sample of this fragrance, and I will cherish it, as I doubt I would be able to afford a full bottle. Beautiful but oh so expensive...

Unexplicably bright, magical, feminine scent. Gorgeous !!!! The complexity of the notes is abslutely oustanding. I'm brought to my wrist again and again to explore it. Beautiful ! Absolute masterpiece of a feminine scent. I "feel" the opium, it's truly addictive and beautiful. I'm considering one day full bottle for sure.

Man, this is just beautiful. It’s a stunning floral journey with hints of balsamic and woody aspects. I bought a 9ml of this to wear on special occasions this spring. I am SO excited to wear this when I see Poppy 😝 It has sweet notes that really make this perfume quite versatile. Def a spring winner!!!

Forgotten, Lost and dusty. This fragrance does not shout, does not scream but only whispers. The subtle integrity of this fragrance leaves a fraction of sadness. Not Large, Not Full, But empty. This fragrance smells like forgotten memories of something that once was. Someone.

didn't expect to think much of this but I love it. its surprisingly really nice. Im picking up some slight honey vibes in this but apparently there isn't any. smells like a more palatable zoologist bat. very nice.

literally perfect. everything about it. the opening of the fruity bright floral tea which then dries down into deep dark bouqet tied with a bitter oud string and sprinkling of some aromatic tea. perfect.

this is so incredible and visceral it’s such a beautiful gothic floral that’s dusty and smoky and dirty the flowers a wilted and dried out it’s such a modern perspective on a floral fragrance

It... feels wrong. Not in the sense that it's bad but I would not feel comfortable around it. You can sense the decay. I, who like citrusy uplifting parfumes like Mancera Lemon Line, going to this macabre situation. Uh. That almost chemical feel. It stays in your nose, heavy and unforgiving. It feels like a scent for a room. The opening is strong, unnatural. You, an adult, enter your long gone grandparents house. Staleness. Sepia. Humid. A clear flower vase with decayed flowers in it. Everything covered with a layer of thick dust. Warm summer day. Just bad. Wrong. I need to know who wears it and where.

It's a perfect olfactory story. After being away on vacation, you walk into your home. The smell hits you- you notice you left a vase of flowers on the table. The water within has a slimy film. The floral stems have sprouted tufts of mold. The petals crunch into a rough powder once touched. A distinct occurrence which makes you sad. You forgot about the flowers. Something someone bought you because they were thinking of you. It feels almost guilty to throw away flowers so you enjoy them into their decay. Soooo floral. Very picturesque and beautiful.

fortunately the rotten side of this scent is lost on me, or rather, it combines well with my skin - thus we get a majestic floral whiff that's pretty damn pleasant.

Super floral and green, like wearing a dead bouquet of spring flowers. Developed some woody notes after a few hours. Lasts 12 hours on my skin.

Wear this if you want to leave a trail of nostalgia and yearning everywhere you go!

I still don't know if I like this scent or not. The top notes of tropical fruit are almost nauseating at first, followed by a strong green note. Like others have said, it smells akin to a bouquet that has been left out too long. All I can compare it to is living in my dead grandma's house, grieving and not having the energy to water the houseplants or dust the shelves. The flowers my friends brought me sitting off to the side. Melancholic yet oh so relevant to my life.

this is where to start if you want to smell odd and NiChE. so multifaceted scent, very prominent and photorealistic note of opium, dead weeds and a multi fruit juice. there is something alluring about this fragrance, it’s nice and calming (how ironic), but personally i wouldn’t want my signature perfume to smell like rotten flowers. or would i? 7/10 i like and dislike it at the same time, yet it’s a well made product and an interesting concept.

This smell is absolutely vintage. The florals are incredibly strong and so is the incense after notes. Far too heavy for me, it's almost headache inducing for the first few minutes.

Like many of Toskovat’, she's a lot. Not one of the listed notes makes sense, nothing is comprehensible at least on the first spray. It's just very into your face with a very odd chemical combo that while you may have never smelled before, you wouldn't really want on yourself, at least I don't with this particular piece. If I press my nose impossibly close and read the list while doing so, I may gaslight myself into finding some tea and fruit in there but generally it reminds me of their Я, same very heavy musty scent, a little anxious and alien. The notes listed on fragrantica and on the site differ. Because I can actually smell the soil tincture indicated on the site. Moderate on projection and longevity.

A layer of gummy, burnt wax sweetness. The candles were left forgotten and now return to haunt you in a sticky, toxic floral fume you can taste. The circuit break glitches static noise in your memory bank, memories mutated and melted in plasticine.

First reaction was cheap flower bouquet from my ex after we broke up. Old lady ish and not in a good way. I smelled it on my clothes a day later and it turned sickly, nauseating.

Garbage synthetic mess. Stop wasting materials. Smells cheap and rushed. Nothing good about it and the notes are way off. Smells like a cheap leather from the azzaro elixir. They let anyone make perfume now.

Acrid, ghastly, burnt smoky smoke, scary bad and ridiculously strong with just a touch of decaying flower stink, a real head scratcher, this one's gone bad.

I want to preface this by saying that I’m not particularly fond of the smell of rotting flowers. This fragrance smells exactly like that, but it doesn’t smell only like that. While the sickly sweet decay of a wilting bouquet is definitely present, there is also a smokiness to this fragrance that is very reminiscent of candles that have long since burnt out. There is also a slight chemical component that, while subtle, is definitely noticeable. What this fragrance reminds me of is walking into an abandoned funeral home with the powdery smell of dust, old incense, withered bouquets, and embalming fluid still hanging in the air. Honestly, I find it quite beautiful, and while I don’t think this scent suits me personally, it is very much wearable, and something I would enjoy smelling around me. Very melancholic, gloomy, and nostalgic.

This is an incredibly photorealistic scent of a dried bouquet of flowers. It is not a wilting bouquet, but rather a special set of flowers that have been preserved for a special, bittersweet memory. ‘My past selves flowers’ perfectly portrays the cycle of a bouquet. First, this starts out incredibly fresh and green. It then goes a bit dry and musty (if you have dried flowers, you know the smell I’m talking about) with a hint of powdery, mineral notes. It is quite a comforting scent, yet a little haunting. After a couple of hours, this dries down quite smoky and earthy, as if the bouquet has been burned. The drydown is my favourite part of this fragrance. It is absolutely entrancing, the incense and oud work beautifully together eloping what’s left of the floral notes. Such a unique take on a floral scent, I’m in love.

It’s ok at best. Price tag doesn't really correspond with the feel I get. It’s almost like Phlur or Kayali hired David to do a scent for them. I am not sure what it is (most likely an interplay of resinous base with some middle note), but it has this dull, cloying odor that mutes the entire composition. I am pretty sure this is intentional, but fragrance feels abrasive, especially closer to the skin. Definitely more of a pop-art, rather than meditative nostalgia which I was hoping to get.

This is a polarizing scent for sure and I'm not at all surprised that plenty of people don't like it but comparing it to Phlur or Kayali has to be one of the most insane things I've ever read on this site. Might as well grab a vintage bottle of Kouros and compare it to the Spongebob fragrance.

Flowers in your grandmas house where the windows are never opened. Very dusty and dim, but the flowers are nice. It feels slow if that makes sense, almost as if they captured stillness in a scent and poured it in here. Good longevity, kinda close on the sillage.

The fragrance smells how it looks, confused and unsure of itself. There seems to be no rhyme or reason behind the theme and its smell is even more perplexing. It smells heavily of cashmeran and something overwhelmingly dry.

Its really like it but at times it comes across as too floral for my liking. Would probably like to smell this on my partner

Bittery woody fragrance that is strangely addicting...7/10
