Things We Never Shared

the scent pretty much matched the author’s description for it. my experience: first spray got me every vape liquid i enjoy at the moment: Le Tonton (prolly named after the liquor, gives a gourmand nutty coffeeish warm taste), Tarte Citron (not that sweet of a cake) and Violette (flower liquid, depicting the soap if it was edible). later on, it projects a rich gourmand smell with a lot more to it, i can’t even describe what is it, (not familiar with the most of flowers, trees, rare expensive ingredients and POISON) as you can see how many notes are in here, but their combination is a masterpiece. i don’t feel any mulled wine, but probably the advocaat liquor. the main profile is cocoa, hand wipes, panettone with little pieces of candied orange peel and almonds. also sacher torte looks like it him who’s present:) a lot of toffee, milky thick sweets. on the other hand i recall the snowdrops scent and this one succeeded to evoke the complex feeling of toska in me, as i remember how my father used to gift me those flowers. as for the vibes, the perfume can transcend us to a kitchen in a young family’s apartment, it’s beautiful and spacey, but in that point of their lives they are giving all of the attention to the kid. the father is so tired that on those christmas eve evenings he gets this idea of poisoning himself. 9,5/10 just because on some moments the gourmandise is too prominent. another chef-d’œuvre made by david, i totally understand the price point of this exact strain.

I think people are missing the point of this one. If you expect to smell every listed note all at once, then you're going to be either disappointed or relieved. Things We Never Shared is a cleverly concocted potion. You'll smell the note that resonates with you the most at any given time. I got addicted to sniffing this because I couldn't work out what I was picking up. It morphed with every other sniff. I don't think I've reached for any other decant as much because it was confounding. Ichigo Ichie is similarly so, but Things We Never Shared is a complete shape-shifter. The best thing to do with TWNS is to ignore the notes and be prepared to give it more than one wear. If you unfortunately pick up cat pee, then you may not want to, but you might be surprised trying it in different temperatures, seasons etc. For me, I really pick up the Advocaat which I had as a child with lemonade (German father didn't think it was inappropriate). I hadn't had that stuff in decades but there you go. It morphs into a fruity scent bubble next before drying down to a chocolate laced tobacco. I can't say I have paid much attention to the dry-down because I keep reapplying it. I kinda get why cat pee might come through for some people but perhaps that the animalic nature of some of the florals listed. You may or may not. The fun is in trying I think. Definitely not a safe blind buy for a full bottle (if you can even get hold of one) but a must-try if you enjoy an olfactory journey.

This is absolute magic on my skin. I was told by the sales person that I'm lucky because it doesn't smell this good on some other people. As a matter of fact, he admitted that he dislikes this fragrance because it smells strange to him, but on me it smelled different and he liked it. On me, it's a very sweet, fruity, red wine-like and dessert-like smell. It's my favourite from the brand. Very unique, artistic, exciting and interesting. One spray lasted all day on my skin and kept getting delicious whafts of it during the day. It's truly an artistic masterpiece. Passion exudes from the fragrances of this house. It's not for everybody though as we can see from other reviews; body chemistry seems to be important with this one, so sample it first. It's a very heavy and intense fragrance, so even though I usually spray 10+ times with most frags, a couple of sprays is probably enough with this one unless you want to get a headache. One of my favourite fragrance discoveries since I started collecting. 10/10

Honestly this isn’t that challenging or weird at all in my opinion... The opening does really remind me of a certain type of candy, half soft and sweet liquorice and half gummy. They’re something quite local to the Netherlands, so wouldn’t expect anyone else to know it. Long story short: I mainly get a liquorice type smell, like anise maybe, along with a sweet candy-like plum and a little sharp booziness from the mulled wine i think? In the drydown it just turns into this sweet, almost christmas-esque candy cane type smell. Lasts incredibly well, will last you through a shower for sure, im getting around 12 hours. It is a little on the feminine side in the drydown in my opinion. And it’s very wearable to me as well, way more than people make it out to be.

i think people have the wrong idea about this fragrence its not really supposed to smell good its a story about things he never shared (i assume with a girl) its about the sweet dates with wine for dinner and the black out drunk at a party and even the toxisity that they never got into its about what could have been the good and the bad. ok thats what makes me love it because i think i relate so much to that and the smells remind me of some of these things like almost nostalga but the smell? unwearable i have a sample might buy a bottle prolly not tho

This is one of the four Toskovat’ samples I got. The mulled wine and fruits are MAJOR on my skin. I get that funky, milky, almost cakey scent in the background. It’s almost like instead of milk for tres leches it’s wine/old fruit juice poured over a cake. As it dries down, I surprisingly get the hand cream accord with cacao. I don’t get the poison note unfortunately. I was surprised how much the Boyfriend and I love this one.

It's such a fantastic fragrance; wearing it truly feels like a roller coaster ride. Immediately after applying, you get the boozy Wine/Advocaat smell, where the scent of the 'Poison' comes in, but it is not tricky or unpleasant/ offensive whatsoever. After 3 hours, it shifts from this party-gone-wrong theme into the most juicy chocolate cake scent ever, indeed a unique wear and experience.

This is a real niche scent. I found it very yeasty and artisanal, like the ingredients were brewed together. In the beginning it is a little animalic but the blend becomes more and more pleasant towards the end. I found the cassis quite dominant and the perfume comes off a little fruity with a bold, unusual base. Very good performance, deserves a higher rating.

I find the people supposedly disgusted by this super weird, it's a very pleasant chocolate and christmas spices scent that dries down into nice woody and musky almonds, as someone who can't stand overly sweet gourmands, it's great. The poison note is wrong though, it's not listed on the official website and should be removed here

Might be overpriced, might be one of those perfumes that you never reach for, probably never buying a full bottle especially at retail price but still from opening to dry down there’s not a boring whiff ive had Both its silage and when i put my nose to it is beautiful and interesting

Very sweet but a diffrent kind of sweetness. I do get the mulled wine sort of smell (very juicy and fruity) but it is backed up by this very strange smell (almost like sweat or something animalic) or the poison maybe. It is very strange, I do like it but it is weird.

Spiked chocolate rum cake to die for, literally. I can assume the “poison” note gives it this off putting sharpness, almost like a warning that it’s not meant for consumption. Another weird fragrance that I need in my collection. Toskovat does it yet again. 10/10

I dont know what some of these people are saying, its artisanal beauty. I absolutely love it. I havent smelled anything like it and i have tried probably about 1000 perfumes and colognes. Very unisex, most notable is the mulled fruit and lotion.

This is such a unique smell. Im very impressed by this. Opens up slightly aggressive but settles down into this beautiful musky wet patchouli, with a LOT of plum, tobacco and sandalwood drowned in a bitter form of Chardonnay. It is very sexy!

I am one of the lucky ones who doesn't get any piss. On me this is very wearable, very unique gourmand. I smell wine and chocolate cake. The wine is a bit stale, perhaps, like someone spilled a bunch on the carpet.

This is great. Opens up kinda weird, a bit pee like, but as it dries down it gets better and better, it begins to merge with the smell of your skin and gets so comfy.

Guy i used to see said it smells like p*ss. Dont see in issue with that tbh. It reminds me of a big overripe fruit, the one you find under the tree. I love it.

I’ll admit it—I’m totally biased when it comes to Toskovat, but this bad boy still managed to catch me off guard in the best way. It’s not that “bordering unwearable” I’m usually delighted by. It’s simply wearable and mysterious. The opening is like a punch in the face (in a good way, I promise)—sharp and intense, with a mix of narcissus and mulled wine that feels sharp. There’s this sweet, almost decadent vibe too, which I’m guessing is the sachet torte. The combination is giving hurt/comfort✨ And then, right in the background, there’s this smoky note that hangs around. The initial sting calms down pretty quickly, though, the sharp and in-your-face turns into this almost skin-like sweetness, a little moody maybe a little seductive and undeniably unique. For the first half hour or so, it gave me major poison vibes the notes are so oddly accurate. It doesn’t have the lasting power that some other Toskovat fragrances do, but honestly, I’m not mad about it—it feels like it’s blending right into your skin, almost as if it was meant to be there all along. I’d wear this for something dark and romantic where you want to smell like you have a secret to tell.

So interesting. Right off the bat I keep thinking it's horrible. But then I remember I'm supposed to be smelling pastries, chocolate cake, poison and wine, and it makes sense. This really does smell like an evil tea party gone horribly wrong. The "poison" note I feel mostly comes from the boozy notes in the wine/advocaat, it's certainly interesting but can be a little headache-inducing at times. There's this deep, rich, wine-soaked chocolate cake scent that I'm getting throughout. The wood is also very slightly present at the end of the inhale. It doesn't last all that long for me and it's got an okay projection, but nothing super impressive. Definitely a very strange gourmand if you are into that sort of thing. I'm into it but I'm glad I only got the sample. I feel like I can use this for very specific occasions only 😭
