Praline & Pistachio

I've always disliked that first spray of fragrance that has my nose scrunched up like "ew ew ew alcerherl" - but this is sweet and nutty right out of the bottle. It's nice and rich, perfect for my weak ass nose. Strangely enough the pistachio and the praline are not the stars of this scent, but the notes that are support them fairly well. The coconut really amps up the nuttiness and the caramel + marshmallow amp up the praline with both airiness and syrupy goodness. I'm not really catching the cappuccino note, but I see how it fits into the composition. I've worn this with the Midnight Amber Glow body cream from B&BW, which I swear has a cappuccino note, to add some depth to the composition. I also think it could benefit with just a pinch of salt - both the pistachio and caramel would stand out better with it. I've also layered it with Miim.miic's impression of Kayali's Yum Pistactio Gelato, No 57, for that bit of tonka bean and sandalwood to ground it all. I'd say it lasts around 3 hours on me with a single spray until it's undetectable and I'm just deeply inhaling the skin of my wrist like an idiot. Note that I have a shit nose, so someone with the nose of a hound might say differently. And... goodness gracious, who the hell is selling this for thrice what they paid for it? I don't know who's falling for it - unless the first ever formulation blew my bottle out of the park (the label is slightly different from the pictures I'm seeing on the listings), I wouldn't waste my money. While it's a great gourmand for $15; it'd be best not to push it unless you've scoured every TJ Maxx/Marshall's in the area.

To my nose, and in support of what others are saying, it is identical to Miim Miic 62 Coconut Gourmands which is an impression of Sol de Janeiro 39. That is straight popcorn to me, and I don’t get any coconut. When I think of what coconut smells like I think of traditional sunscreen or an Almond Joy. Praline & Pistachio doesn’t give me coconut, honey, sandalwood, or marshmallow but mainly buttery sugared popcorn. I am glad I read the reviews so that I could cross Caramel Pop by Vivamor (pricey), Sweet Tooth by Sabrina Carpenter (I don’t live near a Walmart) and SDJ ‘71 (inflated pricing by Sephora) off my list for now. While it is nutty and sweet, I mostly get buttered popcorn. It is whimsical to smell like popcorn. It is quirky. It is funny to hear people ask, “Did you bake something?” And if you like snacking, it’s the olfactory equivalent of a head massage. So soothing. To boost the longevity, the best items I have to layer it with are BBW Whipped Coconut Milkshake body cream (more toasty than lactonic to me, so it brings out the savory side of P&P) and Native Sugar Cookie deodorant (another buttery gourmand). I hope SDJ ‘71 will come in a body butter soon so I can anchor P&P with it.

Praline & Pistachio by Tru and Caramel Pop by Vivamor parfumes A.K.A. Navitus are 1000% percent identical as well as Sol De Janeiro 71. I have ALL 3 of these and I can't tell the difference hardly. I bought Praline & Pistachio from my local TJ Maxx for $14.99 on sale and I sprayed myself with it and it immediately 😅 took my breath away with the Caramel buttery Popcorn sweetness. Then that's when it dawn on me......... I have this in my collection that is 1000% identical and I put it away in my closet in a cool place along with my Sol De Janeiro 71. I couldn't put the bottle down, so I bought it and brought it home to compare all 3 😁 and they are indeed identical. I can't tell the difference and the dry-down is the same. If you couldn't get your hands on Caramel Pop by Vivamor parfumes A.K.A Navitus, then head to your local TJ Maxx and find this gem. I think I paid $140 For Caramel Pop and Praline & Pistachio cost me $14.99 so if I had to choose 😅 with the cost, I would DEFINITELY get Tru Praline & Pistachio, and Sol De Janeiro 71 which was $20.

Coming from someone who isn’t much of a gourmand girly i have to say this is fye! When i Initially purchased it , I thought It smelled nice but just okay. I let it sit on my shelf with infrequent use for a while (i bought it last spring 2024) but when i pulled this out in the cold November this hit another beat for me. It’s so cozy and warm it smells like marshmallows ,caramel and pistachios . Maybe i got lucky but this lasts all day for me. I like it for work for the first three hours it definitely projects but becomes a cozy skin scent that is very much noticeable even after my 8 hour shift. This is way better than the Pistachio Kayali because that one is more soapy while this smells fresh baked. I can definitely say this is a hit for me because usually i swap out my perfumes so i have a new olfactory experience at work or whatever everyday buttt i’ve had a firm grasp on this bottle and i’ve been using this for weeks straight , i’ll be sad when it’s gone. This scent is good not good because it’s cheap ! iykyk❤️

so when I got this, there were no reviews anywhere for this . As a pastry chef, when I saw it at Marshalls or whatever I picked it up just to smell and thought to myself it’s gonna smell like artificial coffee syrup. WRONG! It smells deliciously, nutty, and like praline creamy and good yes it doesn’t have a lot of longevity but God i love to mix it with other things. I spray it all over my linen sheets and my pillow and my bath towels in my bathroom and I douse myself in it regularly as well. This thing is a cheap delight. I’m seeing it now online for $60! I saw a couple of other flavors of this but not another bottle of it. We’ll see. I’ll never pay $50 for a bottle this stuff, but it smells in my opinion better than any other dupe of Kayali Yum pistachio. I’ll go one better. it smells better than that too! I have all the others, but let me tell you I always add a little bit of this to it for some bang!
