Vanilla Potion

One of the best cheapie blind buy purchases ever. And I can say that with confidence because after 2 weeks my bottle is halfway gone and this is a 100ml. I love spraying, over spraying and respraying this perfume. Its a very soft aromatic vanilla (from the bergamot, freesia, and musk). But the driftwood and bergamot play together nicely to give a kind of citrus, solar, type smell that I love when first spraying. Once it dries down it's simply a sugary vanilla. Not dense like frosting, but vanilla all the same. It's called Vanilla Potion because it's magical. At least for me, I love to layer this on top of MANY things and it adds a nice sugary sweet touch to them, and because this is soft it's not too much, or changes the scent underneath it. Perfection. Great easy reach when you just want to smell GOOD. You can wear this with freshie skin scents, floral loud projectors, warm close to skin scents, and heavy thick syrupy fragrances. You can do a lot with this and the best part is it's only $16.99 at most. Bad thing is it's hard to find now 😒 If I do see it at TJ Maxx or Marshalls, best believe I'm getting another bottle. **EDIT I know why I love this soo much now. The dry down reminds me of the vanilla bean perfume oil from Kuumba made. A nice sweet simple vanilla that can literally go with ANYTHING, anytime of year...WOW!!!

Just found this at Marshalls for $16.99 and OMG this is SO AMAZING!! Nice thick creamy dreamy vanilla!! Going strong now 3 hours later and I'm guessing I should have bought the second bottle they had on display. (Always listen to your gut..darn!!) This is quality...so much better than the "BBW Bourbon Vanilla" that it resembles. Going to layer this with something tomorrow for church and see how it performs as a sweet vanilla layer!! I may have to swing by that Marshalls after church tomorrow and see if that other bottle is still there. I NEEDS IT!!!! UPDATE: This fragrance is "Burberry - Goddess" without the lavender!!! Thank goodness I got that backup bottle...gotta find more! 18MAR25 UPDATE: Welp...I ran through both of those bottles in less than a year. I guess having to put on so much to get it to last really depleted the bottles. Ah well, I'll move on...this was nice but too much work to keep up.

I purchased this fragrance because of one particular influencer, Jasmine. I've been looking for this fragrance since she first mentioned it on her channel and I finally found it at TJ MAXX. I was happy, now when I first sprayed it I didn't understand the hype, once I let it sit on my skin for a little bit I bet where she was coming from. However, I still don't think it's groundbreaking like that, I still like it and for the price how can you be mad? It lasts a long time on me and I layer it a lot so yeah I'm happy with the purchase. The day I went they had 4 on the shelf now I feel like I can use another one because you can use this fragrance up pretty fast because it's light and easy to wear. so yeah I wish I would've gotten a second bottle. Thanks, Jasmine Bullard for putting us on because you were the first influencer I heard talk about this fragrance.

This is almost a dupe of Burberry Goddess. The vanilla note is identical to my nose, if you layered the two it would be an amazing combo. The sillage and longevity are pretty impressive for an affordable fragrance. I don’t get any of the freesia or bergamot, this is a woody vanilla bomb. If you love Burberry Goddess but you don’t want to spend $110 on a 30ml bottle with weak longevity, I highly recommend this one. I found this randomly in the shoe section at tj maxx for $18 and it’s a 100 ml bottle. I sprayed the air and didn’t smell anything so I wasn’t impressed, but i walked near that section again later on and it smelled like a delicious creme brûlée so I had to pick it up. I would overspray if you want it to last all day, but with the price point that doesn’t bother me at all. This will be stunning this fall & winter.

What a beautiful perfume! I absolutely adore this one. The open has a strong white floral note which goes away after about 10-20 minutes. Once it's really dried down it turns into the sweetest cloud of pure vanilla goodness. It's such a calming and darling scent. The sillage is moderate for maybe two hours and then drops down to a skin scent for the rest of the day, but given the price it's no problem to respray every few hours. I spray this all over my arms and pillows most nights and sleep like a baby. It's also great for layering - I spray this before applying the Sand + Fog Vanilla Musk oil to pull out more sweetness and tone down the musk (which can be quite overbearing). I'm sure this would go great with tons of other fragrances given how simple it is. If you can find this at Marshall's BUY IT!

I reviewed this the day I bought it, I’m going to update my thoughts now that I’ve gone through half of my bottle. This fragrance has aged beautifully. My juice is much darker and the performance is really impressive for a cheapie. I get a solid 5-6 hours of strong projection after over spraying. One of my coworkers told me she could smell me all over our workplace, which honestly made my day. This smells like all of the “vanilla girl” moodboards on TikTok & Pinterest. Rich, creamy, authentic and delicious. No burnt sugar, no caramel, no patchouli or heavy florals. This smells like a moist vanilla cake with rich buttercream frosting. I’m so glad that a 100 ml is $20 because I’ll be running through my bottle this winter. Just order it and let it macerate, you won’t regret it. 10/10.

Got this for less than $20 at TJ Max and I like it! Nice blend of citrus and gourmand reminiscent of Lira by Xerjoff. Not the exact same scent profiles of course but the way the citrus and vanilla are blended nicely together reminds me of the caramel and citrus in Lira. I feel like this could be worn in the spring and summer with the citrus and fall and winter with the vanilla. Good option for a year round fragrance or that time of year when it’s transitioning from summer to fall or winter to spring. Lasts longer than I expected of a <$20 fragrance from TJ Max. Projection isn’t as beastly and it leans more toward a skin scent but hey for what I paid for it, I don’t mind. Overall good buy and great value!

I went to TjMaxx just to see what they had and sprayed this on my wrist because I loved the old timey, witchy bottle. I went home without buying it and the dry down was so good at home that I drove all the way back, 30 minutes, and bought it. It smells delicious on my skin. It’s a very soft, sweet, feminine vanilla. Reminds me a bit of Goddess, but different floral note. The floral is in the background and the musk is not a sharp, manly musk. It’s barely there which is perfect for me. This is like a warm, comfortable hug of sugared vanilla. For $16 I should have gotten a bub. I may go back. Again.

I bought this for my sister Christmas gift, she's a sweet vanilla lover more than I am. Personally the scent is too sweet, on the other hand for her- it's just right. I love the bottle, it's what caught my eye in the first place. The orchid smell saves the perfume, one pass-by and it's all I smell from it, which is good. Vanilla Potion IS a potion, this has my sister entranced in it and is super grateful I got it for her. Overall, the scent lasts a good while:)

The drydown is very similar to Bare Vanilla. I've never smelled the cashmere version so I can't say with that one but as far as BV original, yes. The vanilla does smell similar to the vanillas in Goddess but without the distinct lavender that has, so if you struggled with the lavender as I did, this may be for you. EDT level longevity and silliage (3-4 hours) This is almost ALWAYS on Maxx and Marshalls online for around $15-16 so don't pay reseller prices pls

Ooo, I love this. It kind of reminds me of Outremer Vanille but a lot more unique and sophisticated (in a good way). I've also always heavily hated bergamot notes, so I'm surprised I love it in this so much. On my skin, it leans pretty floral & airy with a bit of sweetness from the vanilla. This literally smells like I'm walking through a field of sweet flowers! It's so pretty

I love this! I am an OG warm vanilla sugar girly, so this definitely gives those vibes. I've smelled it in the past while shopping, but didn't think much of it. On a recent trip to Marshalls trying to find chai epice, I decided to spritz this on my inner elbow and fell in love after wearing it. This is a stinger version of the warm vanilla sugar DNA. So happy I picked it up 😻

I just received Vanilla Potion yesterday and wore it last night. I am getting vanilla and brown sugar with some florals in the background. It's not a gourmand perfume but it is sweet, very reminiscent of Viva la Juicy. I could still smell Vanilla Potion on my shirt when I woke up this morning so it lasts! I also love the bottle, so pretty!

This is so gorgeous to me. I love vanillas like this or Burberry Goddess. I think it’s fresh but warm at the same time. I know people say it doesn’t last long but layering helps and for the price I’ll take it. I’ve been pairing it with the bare vanilla cashmere lotion for VS. Love it.

I bought this online from TJ Maxx thinking I was going to get the small size and regular Vanilla Potion, but instead I have a 3.4 oz bottle and it’s Vanilla Potion Elixir! I don’t know the difference between this and the original but this smells AMAZING!

Delicious. Easy. Affordable. Vanilla. Love it. Don’t wanna waste my Burberry goddess by wearing it everyday so this is the perfect easy daily perfume. Love it in my hair, or clothing. Plus, you can mix it with any gourmand for added depth.

Linear vanillan has flroal undertones, lasts most of the day intimately on clothes. Layers well with everything. Similqr to juicy gold vibes but not exactly same. Nice with Paris Hilton siren too. Goes with anything.

If you love this perfume and haven’t been able to buy it or can’t find it anywhere anymore.. buy Mac Crème d’nude !!!! Vanilla potion is a dupe of Mac crème d’nude... the Mac perfume is the original 🤎

i used to use this all the time it has such a sweet vanilla scent its warm and not overpowering it was so worth the bottle that i got.

To me this smells very similar to Bath & Body Works Vanilla Romance!!! I was so shocked because I’ve been wanting the full size EDP but it’s so expensive for only 1.7 oz. As soon as I smelled this in TJMaxx the similarity was so on point I bought this in a heartbeat! I really like it. Both B&BW and Vanilla Potion have this masculine element to it that I find beautifully unisex and perfect for layering or even wearing by itself. I’ll be using this a lot, especially for simple days. 7/10 EDIT: After using this for the day I need to update my review. Sadly this is more disappointing than I thought. I adore the scent but it barely lasts!! The initial sprays literally last for a few minutes until it drys down and sits very close to the skin for about an hour until I can’t smell it anymore. There’s really no projection or sillage with this perfume sadly, bumping my rating down to a 5/10. The scent is amazing but it just doesn’t last at all! If you like something that’s intimate and sits close to the skin that only you can smell on yourself, you may like this. I will be layering and spraying on my clothes to finish the bottle.

Honestly, I don’t know how to feel about it. I bought it a couple months ago last year and I sprayed it and I didn’t like it. It’s more floral than any vanilla doesn’t even smell like vanilla and I’m just letting macerated see if it changes. What I do not smell the vanilla one bit. I got it because it was cheap on Marshalls and I am a vanilla girl, but this is not gourmand at all. I am not sure where they were going with his fragrance. I mean, I guess you wanna add to your collection just to have it you could plus I mean for the price. What do you expect? It’s just crazy to me because I love vanilla and there’s to me no sense of it. Just flowers.

Hi there, I finished my bottle 2 months ago and I really enjoyed my time with it! Considering it's only $20 for a 100ml EDP gorgeous glass bottle of this? I have zero complaints. It smells lovely. A nice musky vanilla deepened by lots of sweet orchid and hint of freesia. It's pretty linear but hey, you could wear this anytime, anywhere without offending anyone. On top of that, this is a great starter frag for a teen if you wanted to gift it! That's all I have to say. Great performance as well. It'll last about 5-6 hours if spraying all over, and highly suggest spraying in your hair too ;-) Leaves a nice trail. Perfect xoxox

I heard so much hype about this perfume. I've kept my eye out for it whenever I went to Marshall's & TJ Maxx and I JUST found it last week. I love gourmands, sweet, & musky scents so I feel like this is a nice fragrance but nothing to go nuts over. It's nice for layering. It reminds me of B&BW's Warm Vanilla Sugar and Vanilla Fields. I think it's a safe fragrance for the workplace or for those who are new to the perfume world & want to start light. Would I make it a permanent part of my collection? I'm not sure yet, but I think it's nice to have to mix with other sugary sweet scents. Good blind buy.

To my nose this is a soapy, airy floral vanilla fragrance, the good thing is this one is easy to layer with other fragrances. Easy wear for all 4 seasons! This reminds me of Warm vanilla sugar by BBW &Let them eat cake by Tokyo Milk. For the price I’d say get it, especially for those who don’t like heavy fragrances. But I agree with most of the reviews here saying there are better options especially when it comes to floral vanilla fragrances. I will be returning mine.. I love the praline & pistachio & Strawberry icing!

I smelled this at TJ max and first things first it has a weird beginning masculine cologne sorta note then it slowly dies down to a creamy floral slight bare vanilla body cream smell it's nice not something i would reach for all the time but "just a going to run errands Fragrance" it's lasted 3 hours so Far Rating : 8/10 How other people described the smell on me : " A lavender aromatic vanilla" "Spring in a bottle" " creamy vanilla with florals"

Finally found it at tj Maxx on clearance for $8 !! It’s a very warm cozy vanilla with a citrusy opening. Lasts about 4 hours on me. It’s definitely nice but I see people selling it online for over $40 and that’s crazy. Personally I wouldn’t pay more than $20 for it. Very nice vanilla though!

This smells like a toned down and less complex Angham. It’s the same type of sophisticated vanilla in here. This one’s not a gourmand vanilla, but it’s still so pretty!! You need to overspray this one bit I do t mind. Got it at Marshall’s for $20 in Canada.

The freesia note is pretty assertive in this fragrance, so it's a very floral vanilla. It's pretty, fades in a couple of hours, but is nice for layering. I bought this at one of the popular markdown stores, so the price was definitely right.

It does smell like vanilla but it also smells very floral so just so you know it's not a pure vanilla. Good for layering tho. You can either use it with another vanilla perfume or use it with a floral and it'll be great too !

Vanilla Potion is identical to Maurices' perfume "Endlessly". I was hoping for something unique, but turns out I already have this one. Light, floral vanilla (almost powdery) with moderate performance.

It's a "cool" vanilla makes me think of eating vanilla ice cream out of a waffle cone on a pleasant not to hot summer day. It kind of calls to mind a cool version of Fresh Cream, Warm Cashmere.

Smells very synthetic to me. I usually love vanilla and freesia, but this was very cheap smelling and not sweet at all. Kind of a masculine scent.

Safe linear vanilla that leans aromatic. Reminds me of angham or Burberry goddess if you take the lavender out. Can be worn any time of year

to me this perfume is a more woody vanilla and (at least for me) the sillage is pretty strong. i also can't smell any other prominent notes.

got this as a birthday gift!! firstly gotta say that the bottle is soo pretty (giving apothecary?!) and for such a cheap fragrance the glass bottle itself is really nice! the nozzle not so much-- mine is definitely a little leaky, but for a gift i'm not really complaining. to me, this vanilla smells almost clean and almost beachy. there's a coconut note in this to me that reminds me of the same coconut in ariana grande's "thank you, next". a waxy, almost crayon-like coconut. it reminds me of the Tommy Bahama store my father used to work in-- the air freshener they used in the store smelled somewhat like this. it's a light, fun, summery perfume in my opinion. yeah, it's hella cheap and it's not going to be as complex as a designer fragrance, but sometimes you want something simple. there's something almost romantic about the simpleness of this scent. might use this as a linen spray. vibes: the softest, sweetest cuddle session in a beachside cottage. clean cotton sheets, whipped coconut cream, kisses on a just-showered neck. ( this on the pillows + lavender vanilla linen spray?? 😩 delicious sleepy scent)

This is pretty, sweet, floral (albeit vaguely, I cannot tell what kind of flowers are here. I just call this sort of thing a "freesia" accord). It has a clean musky profile too, it's verging on soapy, though not aggressively so. It's all balanced within the formula. The issue for me is that this fragrance was neither here nor there exactly, it smelled like a vague amalgamation of modern fragrances. Not bad by any stretch, exceedingly pleasant actually, but not *moving* to me. It's definitely worth trying if you're into inexpensive vanillas though.

Huge gorgeous bottle, lots of bang for your buck. That alone makes it worth a purchase for me. I’ve tried it on my skin and on a curtain, it lasted nicely on the curtain but on my skin I can only describe it as a little vanilla fart. Not in a smell way, in the sense that it’s there and you definitely smell it and then it’s gone, but still kind of in your nose. The brief scent I got though, was nice! True vanilla with subtle bright floral undertones.

Smells identical to BBW Warm Vanilla Sugar. Lasts about the same as well. Don't believe the hype. Just get the BBW mist for $5 on sale. The packaging is nice though. Paid $19.99CAD at Winners. EDIT - FEB/2025 This has turned into a light floral vanilla. I am so happy that the floral notes have decided to show up finally! Enjoying this as a layering fragrance. It's still super light and not long wearing but for layering, it does the job. 7/10

Only got this one (at TJMaxx) because the hype for it is out of this world and since it was under $20 usd, why not? It smells cheap but as others have mentioned, letting it “rest” is probably going to help. In a few months, I bet it’ll smell different if not better. Otherwise, the investment was minimal and I won’t be crying a River because I drained my bank account...

It smells like a mix of Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar and Mad Potion by Katy Perry. For a second I thought it was a Mad Potion dupe. Mad Potion is a vanilla perfume with similar notes. If you like Mad POTION, you will like Vanilla POTION. And if you’re one of the ones that love Mad Potion, but hate the longevity, then this might be the answer for you.

I picked this up at a TJ Maxx for ten dollars because I liked the bottle and the smell was nostalgic for me. It reminds me of my mom and the smell of her clothes after she smoked a cigarette. I get straight vanilla extract from this but it’s nice to wear in the winter and on colder days in general. Nothing special, but nothing nefarious either.

I purchased this for cheap at TJ Maxx and i'm so glad that I didn't pay any more for it than I did as the longevity is absolutely terrible. It smells good and I will use it to layer with from time to time so it's not a total waste, but I find myself using Le Monde Gormand Creme Brulee much more as a layering fragrance.

Theres something oddly nostalgic about this. Pure and simple vanilla with light floral accents. This parties at the same club as Burberry Goddess, but does a slightly different dance. Okay but not amazing, this is great for someone who doesn't like loud bold fragrances.
