Mystique

This is so good! It starts off as a strong leather saffron scent. My first thought was “it’s good, but not very original”. But then it really takes you on a journey! It starts to get a little earthy and woody, with the cedar, patchouli and papyrus. And then after a couple of hours, a beautiful creamy sandalwood note really comes through. It’s a masterfully executed and complex scent that actually gives you an experience of every note. And the performance is very impressive - I got a good eight hours of a few sprays.

Reviewing a sample from 2025. Mystique is part of the Nuit Rouge collection launched in 2025. An elegant powdery leather oud fragrance. Mystique opens with a fruity leather accord that is light and airy. Aromatic transition to amber oud with dry papyrus and sandalwood. There is a "fruity" powdery note that runs through which I find distracting - maybe it is the type of patchouli or amber used. I don't think there is any real oud or at least it is a minimal amount. Better performance than older Trudon due to the increased concentration. Quality -very good 3.5/5 Unisex Performance- very good 4/5 - this is an extrait de parfum This is a fairly linear scent that is much lighter than it's ingredients would suggest. Perfect for those who want a light elegant leather oud. 7/10

I don't know exactly what it is, maybe the oud, but after a while of smelling niche perfumes in one day, a lot of them smell exactly like this. This smell, to me, is very repetitive and not very good.

This scent hits first – bitter, metallic, mixing with the heavy aroma of tanned leather. The collector stands by the window, pointing to a frame on the wall. – Papyrus. Authentic, from the Eighteenth Dynasty. The time of Tutankhamun. Behind him, incense smolders – oud heavy, oily, enveloping the room like a dark veil. He opens a small Egyptian box. Sandalwood, creamy and smooth, blends with the oud smoke. Ebony furniture stands in the corners like the shadows of guardians, and the amber light of a lamp reflects in the glass of display cases. In the air hangs patchouli – heavy, earthy, like the scent of old sacks of spices. He approaches the display case, touches the glass with his finger. – You know – he says quietly – the pharaohs believed that scent outlasts the body. @the.scent.files

If you like rich, resinous fragrances, but do not want something overly cloying, this one is for you. Upon application, I am hit with a rich, slightly bitter, woody note and the depth of leather. After a couple minutes, the sweetness of saffron starts to emerge. This fragrance is marketed as a leather, oud and papyrus fragrance. The combination of amber and patchouli is so classic, it adds to the oud note this parfum is described as having. Patchouli is often used to invoke an oud note. I like that this fragrance is smoky but not overly bitter or unbearable. While this range is of parfums, they hold a 20% concentration, so it follows the general pattern of Trudon fragrances, not being overpowering at all. I believe this fragrance would be well enjoyed in a close proximity, for example sitting next to someone. The combination of notes in this fragrance is quite common, but likeable. Overall, the amber, saffron, leather and multiple woody notes create a rich, slightly smokey and sweet fragrance that create a refined debonair impression.
