Birthday Sex

I LOVEEE this scent. With every release, I am blown away by Tuly's fragrance mist line. I typically don't purchase floral scents, but the saffron and jasmine are absolutely delicious. It's also a bit sweet, balancing out the strong and distinct saffron. It has surprising lasting power and sillage for just a fragrance mist. It's a bit awkward to tell others the scent I am wearing is named "Birthday Sex" but oh well haha

I actually really, really like this. I even get a kick out of the openly trashy name. I don't care 😂 It's not a true saffron at all, but at such an affordable price, did we honestly expect it? Everything in here is really sweet and kind of artificial, but it's rendered down into such a fun, mouthwatering formula that it works. The saffron is reminiscent of BR540, but this is toned down a lot even though it's kind of a BR540 spawn. It's somehow more enjoyable to me than Burberry Her as well, because the vanilla here is really cakey while Her smelled more like plasticky fruit. The patchouli also helps to ground this, but it's a really polite patchouli ultimately. Performance is pretty good, albeit not nuclear. I'm not in absolute adoration of this, but it gets a big thumbs-up and I rate it about a 7.5.

Edit: Smelled BR540 EDP and Extrait, this smells more like the extrait version with less of the fir balsam. This is much nicer to me, I prefer the extrait and I prefer this version over the EDP as well. What I imagine BR540 must smell like without the animal testing and price tag :) very warm, comforting fragrance that lasts long. Spicy sweet concoction. Edited to add: This smells so good. I wouldn't normally gravitate towards these notes, I lowkey wanna steal this from my mom lmao! It lasts a good while and it smells unique! If you dislike Jasmine, don't worry, I don't smell it. Nothing near Lust by Lush. I am also typically weary of rose, but I don't smell it directly, just uplifts. I wish they would make this an EDP <3

My daughter said "it smells like the mall." But I think it's delicious. I will layer it with another scent.
