Trussardi Elegantly Cool

I think it's cool, I recommend not judging it by the very first notes - it's completely misleading What I liked most about it is that it is green, spicy, cold and even bitter - you can hardly find anything non-sweet these days apart from oud/leather/lavender heavy fragrances So it's worth giving a try in my opinion

Hardly anything elegant or cool about this fragrance, the choice of the bottle color is also misleading, apart from the plastics that makes it very cheap-looking. Mimosa is pollen-like, slightly bitter and harsh under the presence of sesame and grapefruit, while neroli lurks from behind. It's more of a gourmandish scent, especially if you like or are looking for a fragrance with a prominent sesame note. Not suitable for summer or warmer weather, I find it too heavy, cloying and suffocating. I would prefer something fresh to counterbalance that, but there is no breeze or green freshness in site. Not cool :). In the drydown it becomes sweeter and warmer, creamier.

The new Trussardi, coincidence or not, is launched in a lilac color bottle. Why did I say coincidence? Because Givenchy's Ange Noir was also in an indigo color bottle. You'll ask what the connection is. Well, this new one would be the summer/day version of the other one that was for winter/evening. They start differently. EC is a solar floral, bright and creamy - soapy (a la Dove, so) from the combination of mimosa, ylang and neroli flowers, with a bitter twist of grapefruit oil. It's clear that the lilac color of the bottle is deceiving and there isn't even a purple flower there. The similarities with AN start to reveal themselves towards the base and until the perfume fades away when the balanced trio of sesame, sandalwood and tonka (common notes in both perfumes) takes over. The perpective of having a perfume on the market that is not a tributary of vanilla and the current sweet trends and which will bring back at least some of the beauty of a long-discontinued is truly gratifying. Especially since it comes from a young and less famous perfumer. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
