Sweet Mango Melody

It's like an orange, mango sherbet, very creamy and smooth but not in a lactonic way. The mango is on the artificial side, like a mango high chew, but I find it really fun. There is just a hint of floral and musky wood that adds interest. It projects moderately for about 1 to 2 hours and then settles into an intimate scent that lasts 4 to 6 more hours. It starts to become a bit powdery the more it settles on the skin, like the super fine sugar powder they dust on some confections, like gum, to stop them sticking together or to the wrapping. Not like a makeup or baby powder and it still retains the refreshing juiciness. I actually enjoy that this is such a light mango scent it isn't cloying on a warmer day. I also have Yara Tous and Opulent Dubia which I find are both very strong. Yara Tous I find to be wearable on the less hot and humid summer days if I won't be in any enclosed spaces for too long, I'd not want to wear this if I was going on any long car rides for example. Opulent Dubai is just such a beast, much too much for the hot humid summers we have here, it's just suffocating, and to me it also has a bit of a man's cologne edge that I don't love for myself but do find intriguing on other women.

I don’t mind Sweet Mango Melody at all. The opening does come off a bit synthetic but nothing harsh or nostril‐stinging, just that classic “mango accord” vibe you sometimes get in playful fruity scents. The opening is sweet, fruity and cheerful, very light, airy and easygoing. This is actually the only mango fragrance in my collection, so I can’t compare it to the usual mango heavy-hitters like Mango Skin or GoF. I’m also not really a fruity gourmand lover to begin with, so it’s not a category I have huge experience in. That said, I’m happy to have this one in my lineup. Projection and longevity are pretty average; for me, it becomes a skin scent after about 2 hours. It’s very unisex overall, though the drydown does lean a bit more masculine with its subtle woody undertones.
