Awaken

I finally got it after having a little sample of it since last year. Really inoffensive and also has a bubblegum nuance to it. Has a balsamic note that becomes really apparent after sweating so note that if you don't like that kind of scent. It is quite a juvenile smelling fragrance but it is very clean--I think it could be dressed up or down and still work. While it smells wonderful to me, it doesn't last as long as the EDP might suggest; it sits quite close to the skin and morphs into a skin scent after 3 hours and stays for another 3 or so before it's gone. I would recommend spraying it liberally for better performance and honestly it isn't that bad if you do because of how clean this scent is. Retail price is absolutely not worth it but I found it at Burlington for $32 so if you're able to find it at discount, then it'd be a fine purchase.

The tread is fixated on where you bought your item. That is not what this fora is for. Let the audience benefit from your acumen on the use of the fragrance and not guttural rubbish. Tumi Awaken is a very sophisticated scent. It does not ask for praise, because it is a gem. I have YSL Y Live and I cannot tell the difference. Eventually, Awaken, could get discontinued and the tread will regurgitate, why it is a gem. Enough, with the hypocrisy. If you have nothing to write, then don't write. So called perfume powerhouses are churning out fragrances that cost less than $8 a bottle to manufacture and the ignorami are singing praises of their overpriced scented water.

Not sure why there's so much hate for this frag. It smells great! It doesn't smell like Invictus but it is a moderately sweet frag that's citrusy and woody. I get about 6 to 7 hrs out of it. I will say the only problem with this fragrance is the price. It's way too expensive for what it is. It's a great designer that treads in lower end niche pricing and most niche are overpriced as well. I like the Distilled version too but that's even more overpriced than this one. Both are great, get too much hate but the only criticism I have is price. I got a 3pc set 3.4oz, 1oz travel and body wash for $70. That's where these should be priced. Good stuff though.

love the smell, the bergamot at the opening and the cedar at the base both pop. it's indeed a more refined version of ysl/fierce and i do prefer it as it has less overpowering elements. unfortunately, i found the performance really disappointing. after around 4 hours i had to really search for it on my skin and silliage is not very good from the beginning, either. i think it comes down to skin types. i hope tumi figures this out since it's definitely one i would pick up a full bottle of if it weren't for the performance.

Got beyond lucky and got this as well as Atlas at Burlington for 25 Each!!! Tbh love it it’s fresh and easily added to my “ idk days” On me it’s comes off like a piney Sauvage with an Ambroxan bomb Lasts about 6-8 on skin for me I used to have Mountblanc legend blue and was thinking about getting Wake up World but this perfectly fills my spot for an Ambroxan blue I saw people talking about it being a weak scent Idk about that On the packaging mine says 2023 and it’s 2026 rn Not sure if that plays a role 8.7/10

I think this is a great freshie. Like people are saying in the "smells like" section, it is in the same family as YSL Y and fragrances of the like. I'm not sure about anyone else, but this one's lasts a long time, especially compared to other fresh-style scents. Lasts forever on your clothes. It isn't anything super niche, but I got this for a deal and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat, no questions.

I personally think this is a wonderful outing from tumi in my opinion I can't get enough of it and definitely is full bottle worthy I don't think it's a clone of ysl y similar yes but by no means a clone but that's just my personal opinion and it's a must have at least for me got a full bottle on the way after going thru two samples.

AWAKEN is an excellent fragrance. Begins energetically, fresh, and sweet, but not so much so that it is overwhelming. Becomes more woody and complex during the day. Drydown is comforting and has subtle earthy notes. Overall, this is probably my favorite fragrance I have ever worn!

Had a sample of this about a year back. Wore it to the dentist and they loved it. Super fresh scent very easy to wear and very mass appealing. Can't wait to get my hands on it. only downside is it didn't last too long, so def a cologne you would need to spray a lot.

There isn't a lot of stuff i like but this right here!! It's just intoxicating to me. You feel bold and confident wearing this. It's assuring and just smells amazing! I really can't believe I like this fragrance this much.

I got this as a gift and man this is good, it really gives me the aromatic and citrus notes. Reminds me of a more a humid summer day with a cool overdraft. Overall love this and would recommend.

I like this perfume it makes you awake as described from the name and at a good value it wasn't available in my country but I shipped it and it's worth the shipment

No complaints especially for 30$. Honestly a 10/10 . One of my favorites in my collection along with Imagination, gentle fluidity silver and Bal D’Afrique Absolu .

My favorite fragrance right now. The dry down is great! I have no issues with longevity. I highly recommend this fragrance!

I got some carded sample vials from my local Boscov's, one of which contained Tumi's Awaken and Unwind. I'll write a review on Unwind after I wear it tonight. This fragrance is pretty similar to YSL EdT. Similar, not identical through .Think of it as a Y with a twist. The opening is very similar, but after 5 of so minutes, it slowly starts to diverge. The grapefruit bergamot combo in Awaken is a bit zingier than the citrus in Y EdT, and the absence of mint makes the citrus stand out more. The sage and cedar combo that is in Y is very similar to Awaken, giving it a good freshness, but as Awaken doesn't have any musk, apple, or violet leaf, there isn't the same depth and complexity that one may find in Y (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). Personally, I like that this goes in a different direction to Y EdT. I like Y EdP much more than the EdT, so I don't reach for the EdT all that often. But, since this is a bit different, I can appreciate it some more as its own thing. Performance is pretty brutal though. Doesn't have much of anything left after 4 hours. Also, I love the idea of there being a daytime/nighttime fragrance pairing from a single house. I think more houses should follow up on this concept. I like that Awaken and Unwind are different, but I think the day/night combo concept from one house could be improved if they kept a similar DNA in both scents, but tweaked only some of the nuances between the two, letting the scents harmonize on your skin and clothes between morning and night.. As somebody mentioned in a review over on the Unwind page, it's a brutal time for Tumi to release a "business traveler" oriented cologne set, but hopefully they keep offering it once travel goes back to normal. I can't see anybody on a plane getting bothered by this scent, It doesn't project across the room, which would be a nightmare on a long flight. But it keeps you and those around you feeling bright and refreshed. I think the price for these scents are too high. $100 for 100 ml is standard, but I would only really feel comfortable dropping $100 if I could get 100 ml of both Awaken and Unwind. Tumi is a luxury brand after all, so I understand their pricing. But compared to what other scents one can get for $100, this is not a competitive price.

This is a pretty good fragrance. I see alot of people comparing this to YSL Y line and I can kinda see it but in the opening only. More the YSL edt then the YSL edp opening but after the opening this starts going in it's own direction. It's definitely a great scent for work. What I really like what Tumi did was how they made a morning scent and nighttime scent that actually smells good layered so it's not like you have to wash the morning scent off just to put the nighttime scent on to go out. Great concept that I wish other fragrance houses did themselves. Longevity is decent but like usual with anything I buy to wear to work I would like it to be around the 8 hour mark before it wears off. This hits around 5 to 6 hour mark before it's gone and maybe an hour more if sprayed on clothes. The sillage is around arms length. This is a very inoffensive fragrance that has garnered me a few compliments at work. Not many people know about Tumi fragrances and even less people wear this so this is something nice to wear if you dont want to smell like alot of other men. It's worth sampling for sure. Now this is the only negative I have to say about this and it regards the price. Is it worth $100 for a $100mL, yes but there is so many other fragrances that is better for that price and if they lowered the price to let's say $125 for 75mL of Awaken and 75mL of Unwind as a combo package I would say it's an easy buy but until then it's a lil hard to pay Dior and Chanel type money on this.

I like this fragrance. It pretty much adheres to its name, it is a bright uplifting fragrance that is pleasing and will generate compliments. I can't say that it is all that original, and it doesn't necessarily need to be, but it does what it is meant to very well! I probably got four hours of decent performance on skin but over eight on clothes. I received multiple compliments all day at work. The bottle is handsome and I really like the bottle cap which cleverly locks into place. Tumi has put forth a fine product. However, I do think it is overpriced. Priced at $110 I feel that they are competing out of their league, IMO. I'm not sure what Tumi's goal are? Are they really trying to compete with better known designer fragrance companies such as Armani and niche fragrance companies such as Mancera? If they are I'm guessing most buyers will gravitate towards the better known names in the fragrance world. If they dropped their price to around $60 I suspect they would sell much more product, competing with the likes of Versace and Azzaro. Look for sales, I caught a 40% of deal and brought several of their products and am pleased!

This review is for Awaken Distilled which still needs its own page! Anyway I just got it yesterday and the best way to describe it is a high quality blend of A&F Fierce and YSL Y EDT, leaning more towards Fierce but without the heavy musk. Nothing groundbreaking but it's a very fresh, clean and modern scent with an almost metallic feel to it. This is ideal for professional or casual wear during the mild to warmer months as a dumb reach for every day wear. It definitely has a sharper smell than the original Awaken plus it lasts longer too. Projection is solid for a couple hours then seems to sit pretty close to the skin. I haven't received any compliments or feedback on it yet but I can’t imagine anyone disliking it. I also seem to go noseblind as I feel like it disappears after a few hours, but then it'll start wafting and becomes "active" on my skin again. Overall this is quality stuff but I would still put 19 Degree and Atlas ahead of it as being the best offerings from Tumi so far.

Really awesome stuff, higher quality take on the YSL Y DNA. Very high quality ingredients, great blending. Frag opening, powdery dry down, much less soapy than the Y EDT's, a little deeper and much more interesting than the Y EDP. It definitely feels like it could have been an alternate version of Y EDP Intense in the same way PDM Eragon could have been a higher end La Nuit de l'Homme flanker (that's a bit of a side rant). Prices are great on this, you can get a 100ml bottle for under $60 if you look around. I prefer this to the new Awaken Distilled. AD is a little more interesting in the transition but is too thin and airy in the drydown. Performance is slightly above average. 6-8 hours on skin with moderate projection. Unisex leaning masculine like most Y frags. Four season safe, but shines in warmer months. 79/100

This would be a LOVE if it lasted longer. I just got it yesterday so Im only starting to wear it. Initial wear shows about 45 min of projection and 3-4 hours on skin. Most people would say that is abysmal. I got this for 29 at Burlington, so I didnt pay full retail thankfully. As far as the smell goes, its a DAILY wear frag, good for any season, any reason. Daily to Formal. Doesnt have an alcohol blast at the beginning at all. Not too bright, not too dark, somewhere in the middle. Im a sucker for Citrus Woody scents so this is up my alley. The distilled version did last longer though, I gotta say. Im not sure if the longevity will get better over time, but we will see. I may update my review if it does.

Reviewing Awaken from a 2 ml official sample. A very refreshing, green, citrusy, aromatic, with a woody base, masculine summertime perfume. Smells very similar to many other releases from the designer world, like highlighted in the reminds me of section, but it’s a good release from Tumi nonetheless. It’s not overly synthetic or air freshener like, but it’s nothing special either. Nice middle of the road warm season scent.. Good quality for the price for sure. Not easily accessible in some European countries at least but can be bought online. 100% masculine scent and a summer weather fragrance. Pleasant and invigorating, I’d like to smell Awaken on a man during a high heat day.

I think this is more of a spring and day time fragrance in my opinion and its great for work I don't really see this fragrance as a date night type but its versatile and its good in my opinion and you shouldn't blind buy it because its not everyones type. I have this fragrance and it lasts a good amount sprayed this in my brothers closet and it was there still after 4 hours but got weaker so I give it 5-6 hours before it completely fades away. and It can be smelled from an arm radius or maybe 2. but overall great scent and isn not really powerful in sillage and time compared to the other fragrances

Initially I did not like this. Then I let it sit for a bit on my skin. Its a very weak cologne in my opinion. Normally I can smell the colognes because I spray my neck. I had to spray four times to get that effect. Its very good and smooth when walking by someone as im told. Definitely not an overpowering fragrance. I do smell tad bits of Y in it. However, I have never owned Y. Other people have said that its a very mall like fragrance. I think I can agree to that. Its an amalgamation of everything at the mall. Walk over to a Macys mens fragrance section and you'll have an idea. Just stronger.

The YSL Y/AF Fierce comparisons are pretty accurate. First impression was “oh this is fierce”, about a min later “oh it’s actually Y”. Unlike those 2, Awaken doesn’t project very far or for very long either. Can’t speak to the sillage but it’s one of those if you know you know type of things so I can’t imagine it performs well there either. Maybe it’s the gorgeous bottle but I’d say it’s a more refined, intimate inspiration of Y/Fierce. Take that for what it’s worth, It’s a quality scent, & for ~$50/100ml I give it a 7/10.

Very reminiscent of Y EDP like others have said. So if you already own another flanker of Y, you could pick this one up as a cheaper alternative to the original EDP. I own Y Intense already so it's been nice to have this one around as a 5ml decant I got from a discovery set that was gifted to me. The citruses on top are quite sweet, and I am fan for sure. May pick up a full bottle at some point seeing as its going for under $50 for a 100ml. $30 - $40 would be an ideal price range though.

Most detectable notes for me: Bergamot, Coriander, Cypress Review: I saw this heavily discounted online and was intrigued. Tumi makes high end, quality luggage and I saw these pushed on social media when they released their line of fragrances. Not much to report, it’s a ‘generic’ but bright and airy scent. It has a clean, ‘deodorant’ type feel to it that clings on to the woods on the dry down. Season: All Use: Everyday, suitable for the office or for travel as it has a lockable cap.

Received a Birch Box sample. I like this. It struck me as frosty and sugary like an ice skater doing lutzes while drinking a fruit smoothie or people throwing flavored snow cones at each other in the middle of winter. I wonder if the cold vibes are from the fir and cypress. There was a phase where it seemed a little heavy and woody. However, the fresh notes repeat and this felt closer to round than linear. If you're looking for a morning fragrance, I'd recommend trying it.

The opening of this fragrance is so lovely and sweet. It smells like fresh laundry, or fresh linen. I adore the opening so much, but unfortunately it only lasts 2 minutes. It gets more green and aromatic in the drydown, and becomes less sweet. I wouldn't get this because the longevity kinda sucks, but I'd love to find something that smells like the opening that lasted a long time. Overall rating: 6.5/10. I like it

Nice mellow woodsy base with a little citrus up front. I agree that it smells like many other options. For me, this one is better than most department store designer alternatives. I didn’t get blasted with chemicals or too much citrus. The woodsy notes were agreeable. One spray was good for 5-6 hours on me before going to skin scent. Not unique but good on me. Will wear again. 6/10.

I have to come to the defense of this fragrance since I just saw sooo many comparisons to Y. I tried YSL Y and the flankers and disliked all of them. But tumi has a very nice freshie here with some staying power and a versatile profile. It isn’t as beautiful as Continuum but very worth a shot if you like the notes. I use it for a sports fragrance. It makes me feel energized.

On clothes, the opening definitely resembles Y EDP, though not a direct clone. On my skin, the dry down goes a bit more woodsy. As far as the performance, it’s just average. I get 4-6 hours with moderate projection. The quality is surprisingly decent for a luggage brand, but if you already own Y EDP, Awaken is kind of redundant and not as big of an attention grabber.

This is like a hybrid between YSL Y EDT/EDP, Gucci Guilty and A&F Fierce. Don’t expect anything unique out of this, but it is a great dumb reach freshie that I will be wearing in the spring and summertime! Worth a try if you can find it for a decent price!

All year-round fragrance that i think works in any situation. Fresh enough for the gym but also has some depth for more special occasions. Reminds me a bit of the ysl y dna. The sage really pops out here and the scent overall gives a “pine tree” smell.

very warmly herbal. i feel like i smell like a brooks brothers but in a good way. coriander note is surprisingly present. dries down a bit dusty despite claiming to be invigorating. dilfy english professor fragrance

smells like the woods around where I live to me, but i put one spray on before being with my family and they all asked why I smelled like axe body spray.

I liked it at first but in my opinion the dry down doesn’t smell the best it kinda reminds me of a cleaning supplies but over all I like it

Really solid fragrance, you can easily use it for any occasion in the summer and it also doesn't disappoint in the cold

Generic morning fresh fragrance. Does what it claims to do.

This is a joint review of Tumi's Awaken and Awaken Distilled, which I tested on consecutive days. Awaken opened with an unusual scent that seemed more fruity to me than citrus-y. This was joined as the mid and base notes appeared by an interesting woody - resinous - conifer scent. The overall effect was somewhat medicinal, almost menthol (e.g. Vicks Vaporub) in character. The scent seemed to be pretty versatile, for any season. It wasn't overly fresh to be considered only good for summer but it wasn't overly heavy for cold weather either. Longevity was pretty good - got about 8 and half to 9 hours out of it. Projection was more moderate. Tumi's web page states that Awaken Distilled "is an intensified version of our original AWAKEN [08:00 GMT]. The woodsy citrus scent is a bold blend of Italian mandarin, bergamot, black lavender, amberwood, patchouli and cedarwood." "Woody citrus scent" is a good description. While similar to Awaken, Awaken distilled was more citrus-y and less fruity, while being a more pronounced woody scent with significantly less of the medicinal or mentholated character that Awaken displayed. Longevity and projection were about the same for me as Awaken. My personal preference would be for Awaken Distilled because of the reduced medicinal character.

#1200 in my "Tour de Fragrance" So, it's an okay scent at a fair value. A cross between a YSL "Y" flanker and "Polo Deep Blue" in scent. Which is only a source of complaint for me in that I have SOOOOO many scents like this. We have at least a dozen Y flankers, a dozen Polo Blue Flankers, four Tommy Bahama scents and a dozen more from the Middle Eastern fragrance houses all pretty close to this. This is slightly greener than many, but not enough to make much of a difference. I like the locking cap. Environmentally responsible packaging. Like so many scents in this vein this note combination is very aromatic in the opening so the performance is moderate, and you'd definitely respray midday. I'd get this for a less expensive alternative to Y that's similar in quality. I think this is alright for office wear, but more outdoorsy/beach wear. The synthetic bergamot is too sharp for date wear, but no worse than Y itself, which has the same synthetic bergamot. A juice for warm weather. Not going to offend anyone in any setting, but everyone has smelled something like this again and again, so it's not likely to draw attention.

Awaken distilled was hyped. Smells like fierce and priced like percival (on discounters). Not the biggest fan of percival but Id take that in a heart beat over Awaken distilled. The regular EDP of awaken did smell like YSL Y EDT more then percival and Id take that (YSL Y EDT) over Awaken EDP. I was really hoping these were going to be good but Id rather take the smell a-likes that they are "compared" against if you will. Designer-ish quality for the most part and nothing too crazy. Im a fan of when someone takes something and improves upon it but Im not sure if that's the case here with these two fragrances. I have Atlas coming and I hope it's good. I still have 4ml left of Awaken distilled so if something changes I will come and update. I cant rate performance yet but I will circle back once I get more wears in. If there was an Awaken distilled page I wouldn't have to come here to post this. 19 degrees gets its own page though?

Like mentioned in other reviews, this does give Prada Luna Rossa vibes. Except less woody, and fresher. The opening it very aromatic and fresh . Once it dries and settles down after about 20 minutes you get a lot of the olibanum and a sprinkle of patchouli. The patchouli is just enough so it's not a very prominent note which is great for me . Anyone that is on the verge of getting Prada Luna Rossa or just want a light fresh aromatic fragrance should look into this . I used this for 3 back to back days and again about 2 days later. About 4 to 5 sprays . While it doesn't project like crazy or for too long it does stick. I got a good 3 hours of good performance. Close skin scent after about 5 hours. Totally gone after the 6 hour mark. So the performance isn't bad. I also think it's pretty versatile. You can wear this year round

This smells nothing like YSL Y anything. There is nothing "blue shower gel" about this. It's very Cypress and Fir forward....very woody, and as another reviewer said "almost medicinal ". It does have a slight Tiger Balm medicinal vibe, but not enough to ruin the fragrance. There's nothing special about this one. Not mass appealing and certainly won't get compliments with it. But its not bad....just "ok". It smells kinda low tier....i wouldn't put this in the high end designer category, this smells more like a budget designer like Abercrombie, Zara, etc. Average performance (4-5hr), average scent. Found this at Burlington for $29 for 3.2oz so I can't complain. Would definitely not pay full retail for this.

It would be hard to imagine a more generic smelling 'contemporary' men's fragrance than Tumi Awaken. There is absolutely nothing extraordinary, unusual, unexpected, or unprecedented in it. The debate about whether it smells more or less like this or that more popular middle-of-the-road mass appealing designer release is pointless - it smells like ALL of them. That said, performance and quality seem goodish, especially the fresh and enduring grapefruit note. The Tumi brand is not well known for its fragrances and the full retail price is not compelling, so I'm not sure why anyone would buy this. Look out for the inevitable better deals from discounters.

I tried it a few times, and it reminded me of YSL Y EDT with less sweetness and less focus on the amber woods. Which made it less of a headache inducer. Decent performance. It has DNA that relates to quite a few releases in the designer world, so you may already have something in this style. I think it is a good option but would really look at your freshies to avoid redundancy. Now that this has been around for a while it's affordable on discounters so it's a great offering for this profile if the price is right.
