Anvers2

I have been impressed by several Ulrich Lang fragrances, but this one is not one of those. The opening is good, but the drydown falls in the typical vanilla/tonka/woody boring thing. A pass for me.

Anvers2 has a little bit of everything, maybe that's why it's my favorite (Apsu being a close competitive). It's slightly spicy, a little warm, a little citrusy, a little bitter and a lot woody, which is the best point of it in my opinion. I smell lots of vetiver mixed with warm inviting notes in a modest style. I may call it the lightest perfume of the collection, yet it can not be disregarded. On my skin, soon after applying the bitter notes fade away, a slightly sweet aroma taking its place.I'm not sure if it's the scent or my skin, as most fragrances tend to smell sweeter on me. I can easily imagine myself wearing it. So, I guess it can be considered unisex as well. What I adore the most about anvers2 is that it never gets annoying. It's there without trying too hard, yet definitely adorable to my nose.

Anvers2 is very elegant and complex scent. It reminds me of YSL L'Homme in the overall feel. The difference is the opening of Anvers2 is sharper with lime, bergamot, and rhubarb. They both have a nice subtle floral accord. At the base, Anvers2 is a soft sweet musky amber, but it has more depth in comparison to YSL. It seems a bit smokier and woodier as well. So As a result, there is no reason to get a full bottle of this because I already own the YSL L'Homme, which is also considerably less expensive.

The next generation of Anvers. The notes are beyond me so Ill start reaching. It smells like an entreupenuership. Like a business that just opened with high aims that it will actually reach. It isn't rich yet, but the idea and the passion is still there. Opening the doors to the new store and the first week was banging. Anvers 2 is thankful, and appreciative. It smells like you are on your way.

MR. NICE GUY Unlike his evil twin brother (Anvers 1), this fragrance is easy on the nose and a respectable all around every day scent. Very hard to distinguish notes (and boy oh boy there are a lot of them). But the cacophony is actually very pleasant. Something about this has a bit of a soft sparkle. Worth sampling - could become some dapper chap's 'go to' office fragrance.

Natt is pretty much spot on - Anvers 2 is like L'Homme, from that same group of "apple pie" cardamom fragrances (e.g. Paco XS, Chic for Men, etc). While it's nice and pleasant fragrance, it doesn't do much for me. I've smelled this kind of thing before and definitely wouldn't justify spending over $100, which is what this seems to be generally going for.

The beautiful standard... i get that beautiful soapy musk floral blend made of mild cypress, basil, lime, musk, mimosa, touch of rose, touch of vetiver, touch, of cedar, and a def sandalwood. This one reminds me allot of "Charismatic" by Pecksniff's with its charismatic touch and gentleman's vibes and so by "Knize Two" by Knize. Beautiful.

I didn't get the goodness in this one. On me, it smelled like a slightly sticky vanilla wood with faint floral undertones. It didn't last very long and didn't really work on my skin, being clumsy and oversweet. Not for me, I guess.

I tried this scent as a sample and Its too light. I prefer a heavier smoke or incense. The sweet smell....because of the lack of a deeper/darker smell, stands out. making it a tad too feminine for my liking.

Sharp, clean, heavy on rhubarb and lime. Creamy-sweet undertones. Reminds me of sour-sweet Granny Smith apple. Versatile but complex, definitely unusex.
