Nothing but Sea and Sky!!! I love You: the aroma, the poetic concept, the remembrances of a cold beach. In his renowned poetry collection 'Leaves of Grass,' Walt Whitman wrote "From Montauk Point," where his contemplation led him to declare: "Nothing but sea and sky..." This perfume combines Bergamot (very citrus), Sandalwood, and White Musk to embody an outdoorsy, romantic, and poetic essence. It exudes a milky, slightly salty aquatic beach scent, making it a minimalist, chic, easy-to-wear fragrance with a realist sea vibe. The musk is clean, almost soapy, and the wood is warm and sweet, like driftwood baking in the sun. It boasts a duration of at least 6-7 hours and maintains a consistent linear quality, earning a remarkable 8.5/10 rating for its exceptional qualities. It smells more like Musk Therapy, Parisian Musc (which has a similar vibe, but this is sugary), or Mon Ami Choix from Gritti. I can’t believe I found another Thin Wild Mercury dupe in this house. As soon as this hit my nose I thought “Zuma!”. It’s got the salty bergamot je ne seis quoi of Zuma without the sexy/dirty notes. The bergamot is also less complex here so it it has a bigger mass appeal and doesn’t come off as spray cleaner like some say Zuma does. I love this fragrance. It’s so easy to wear on sunny, warm days and definitely leans late-spring, summer. I will spray it year round though just for the sake of a pick me up. It lasts about 6 hours on my arms and chest and doesn’t heavily project so it’s great for a daily personal scent. Oh and the house’s other TWM dupe is Sugar Leather for Whisky. It’s like a sweeter, younger sister, which I think I can say is the case for every scent I’ve smelled from Une Nuit Nomade. Definitely expensive for a full bottle but if you can get a travel size at a good price I’d recommend! If you like bergamot this is a safe blind buy. It’s very easy to wear.

It is always interesting to me that I seem to experience most fragrances in a completely different way to every other fragrantica reviewer. Nothing but Sea and Sky is, to me, a spicy, cold, woody fragrance. Much like sitting on a fallen pine tree overlooking the sand dunes as snow falls slowly and muffles the world in its satisfyingly fluffy grip. It has a dry sandalwood that verges on driftwood, and each stage of dry down is accompanied by a festive bergamot that stops the composition from becoming dolorous. This perfume is a borrowed scarf that still smells vaguely of someone you don't know very well, but would like to. It is crisp and clear and very elegant, and on my skin has excellent longevity. NBSAS isn't going to announce your presence before you've even entered the room, it's subtle and discreet. But if anyone should catch a whiff of you they will automatically assign you gravitas and mystery you don't necessarily deserve. I love UNN. You guys are 🔥.

Smells like the sea in winter. It’s kind of salty - very reminiscent of the sea and works well with the smooth sandalwood. It sort of smells like you’re taking a walk on a pier in the winter in a thick jacket, and your nose is picking up the wood of the pier, the saltiness of the sea, and your own natural musk. The bergamot, and maybe some sort of spice I can’t quite put my finger on, give it a strong bite - sort of drives home the “cold” quality. I know most people would automatically think of this as a summer or spring fragrance, but it’s a winter/spring fragrance to me. It smells like you’re spending that tranisition between spring and winter living by a lake. Really beautiful fragrance, shame it lasts 3 hours at most before it just smells like musk. Unisex.

An unexpected love. Yes, the composition of this perfume is simple, but those three notes are balance to perfection. If I spray it on a colder spot of my skin, I get those rainy day vibes the people were mentioning. The musk is clean, but doesn't have the sharp sterility, the sandalwood brings a tiny bit of sweetness, but doesn't feel dry and dusty. A clean, fresh, and slightly moist scent, that is not aquatic, and not cold. It really is a melancholic rainy day scent. If I spray it on a warmer skin (elbow), the sandalwood becomes stronger and a little powdery. But in both cases it remains balanced and very beautiful. I think I just found my perfect sandalwood.

To me, This is a simple, but very lovely, “my skin but better” type of scent. It has a summer beach vibe without going to a coconut or sunscreen territory (which I don’t like) I would buy a full bottle if it wasn’t so costly. I’m one of the unlucky folks whose nose reads sandalwood as pickles but I don’t get that with this scent! To me this reads as clean skin that been kissed by the sun all day and is now cooling down as the golden hour approaches bringing a gentle breeze of ocean tickled air. I have a purse spray, I don’t think I can justify the price of a full bottle for such a light skin scent but it has inspired me to give more sandalwood scents a try.

very easy to wear, fresh type of sandalwood with that citrus blast blended very well with the sandalwood, the scent is fleeting in your skin & that doesn't happen to often with sandalwood based fragrances, at least to my skin. on the dry down you get that soapy feeling which, I don't hate but its supposed to be a sandalwood fragrance. Longevity is quite good on me, 4 hours wear & I can still feel the projection on my skin. great blind buy! looking forward to other sandalwood fragrance on my list, santal austral & here comes the son is next.

Yes, Nothing very special abt this one among their Collections. But it's reallyyyy comforting scent with the lasting power up to 6 hours. I dont really fall for the opening, abit sharp with Bergamot, but the dry down is perfect for me, my skin scent but much better, soft musky sandal wood and aibt powdery, somewhere i smell a hint of iris. This one should be tittled "In the library". Thinking of you spend your weekend in the library, want to smell good but dont want to disturb people. Humble ,quietly beautiful but noticable. i love it!

A simplistic, delicate, and creamy perfume! It sits gently on the skin, small projection. Slight lactonic vanilla when it's on my wrist, similar to the 'vanilla' of the yellow gorse plants you can sometimes see here on the cold cliffs of the UK. Reminiscent of a cold, early-spring coastline in Dorset, with the chilly wind brushing past the white chalk cliffs. Beautiful regardless. It's expensive for a full bottle... And because the brand is quite small, there aren't many international vendors.

This is a beautiful fresh, laundry-like scent but without the florals. To me it's clean and comforting, yet somehow cold and airy. I understand for a lot of people this is coming across as a summer beachy scent, but I truly can see the Montauk in the snow inspiration for this fragrance, and I've ended up reaching for it more this autumn/winter than I did in the summer. Nothing but Sea and Sky has moderate longevity and projection for me, and I can't see how this could offend anyone!

Very nice. While Sun Bleached was a little too much for me, this is just right. I so avoid beachy/sea scents, but this is one I'd wear with ease and happiness. A skin scent through and through, it's musk, sandalwood and bergamot yes, but with a little salty, sandy accord, and on skin, a coconut feeling comes out. A little like Arizona Bloom if it never veered into the ambroxan Cloudesque drydown. Airy and coconuty but neutral.

I could live my whole life in this scent and never get bored of it! There are no words to describe it, you'd have to experience a cloudy, cool day by the sea... No suncream, no sunbathing and volleyball. No, this is windy afternoon alone on a beach, maybe collecting shells, maybe just getting lost in though. There is a storm in the distance, but now it's calm and peaceful and quiet. What a masterpiece!

Reminds me of L'orchestre Parfums Piano Santal. Less lactonic than Piano Santal, but maybe in the same family. Easy to wear, spray & go. White T-shirt clean girl vibe for sure. But the performance is not satisfied. I wish it was stronger and lasted longer. Intimate skin scent with minimal projection. U need to spray more! The new packaging is very elegant too.

As someone who gravitates towards deep, dark and rich autumn/winter fragrances, I was clearly lacking in the summer scent category. Hence I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I do. Nothing but Sea and Sky feels so effortless and clean. To me it feels like laundry that has line dried outside, in crisp and clean air, somewhere near the sea.

i love sandalwood but hate how buttery it can get on my skin. the saltiness and freshness in this round it out so it's not aggressively santal. i agree with the poster who said its a subdued Sun Bleached, which was a little too coconutty and green for me. this is fresh, clean-cut without any remnants of soap or an astringent dry-down.

i got a sample of this and fell in love with it right away. it's a nice clean scent, i'd probably like to wear it more in the spring and summer.

Nice but it does remind of Anyway by Juliette Has a Gun, similar musk. I love them both.

That’s exactly where this takes me. It’s inspired by Whitman and the stark winter edges of Montauk, and honestly, you can tell - the whole thing feels like someone tried to bottle a horizon line. Minimalist. Clean. Almost too composed. It opens with bergamot that hits like cold light. Not juicy, not sweet, just... bright. Sharpish. Like stepping out into a frosty morning where the air almost stings your teeth. And then, before I’ve even processed it, the whole thing softens into this creamy sandalwood. Smooth as polished driftwood, very “nothing out of place,” almost like it’s been sanded down emotionally as well as texturally. Then comes the musk in the drydown - soft, clean, a little powdery. Like a white T-shirt warmed by skin. It’s quiet. It sits close. You have to lean in to notice it, which is kind of the charm... and also kind of the issue. Because here’s the honest bit: for something inspired by winter, it doesn’t feel winter. Not in the way you expect - no cosiness, no depth, nothing that hugs you back. This is more early spring, maybe autumn. Cool days. Open windows. Something gentle drifting around you. On actual winter skin, when I want something warm, rich, maybe even indulgent... this feels too thin. Too airy. Like admiring the landscape instead of stepping into it. Longevity is 4–6 hours on me, and the sillage stays tucked close, like a thought you keep to yourself. But - and it’s a big but - it is beautiful. Calm, refined, very “I’ve got my life together even if I don’t.” Perfect if you love minimalism or scents that feel like a clean space. A quietly masculine-leaning unisex aura that never tries to impress and somehow still manages to. Just don’t expect the comfort of winter. Expect the clarity of it. The horizon. The quiet. You know what... I was going to be vocally disappointed about the fact that 2 out of 3 of the samples I received from Une Nuit Nomade were duds but I'll hang it up; I like Nothing but Sea and Sky. This does not invoke the same salty, ozonic, wind-in-my-sails vibe of something like Margiela's Sailing Day, but who cares. This is it's own thing and I like it. If you hate bergamot, though, do not touch this with a ten-foot pole. This might be one of the most bergamot forward fragrances I've ever smelled, which partially contributed to why I initially felt like leaving an unimpressed review. I love bergamot, but the first 10 minute opening was even a bit much for me. It settles down quite nicely though. If you're thinking of purchasing this you could apply it 10 minutes before you leave and not have a problem. I really love this imagery of "blizzard on the beach," but I'm not really getting that atmosphere from the fragrance itself. Not to keep yapping about the bergamot, I'm just not sure how that really fits into the story here. This does have a salty sandalwood beach vibe, though. I just think it's lacking that cold feeling. But I'll stop complaining; this is an overall pleasant spring or summer scent.

Nothing but Sea and Sky is a nice, soft-around-the-edges, clean Woody Musk that would serve as a quintessential "Office Scent". I made the comparison, blindly, immediately upon first spray, to Radio Bombay by D.S & Durga. I look at the comp listing's on this page, and sure enough, there's Radio Bombay. Radio Bombay is probably a bit sharper, dryer, and more woody. NBSAS seems a bit smoother, at least as lactonic creamy despite Radio Bombay having the explicitly listed lactonic accord, and more soapy/powdery due to the white musk. A clean, soapy/powdery/soft woody Office Scent. Most of my "Office Scent" collection is soft, soapy or powdery, musky, soft woods, and lavender. Thats how I interpret Nothing But Sea and Sky. I don't really get an aquatic or marine vibe from Nothing but Sea and Sky. But a "driftwood on a beach", or "blizzard on a beach" vibe? Yea, OK. Just equate the soft sandalwood as beach driftwood. I spent a total of a year sailing the oceans in the U.S military, so I've experienced days upon days of truly nothing but sea and sky. This is more of a beachhead replication. Nice. I have a full bottle of Radio Bombay, so I would need to find a steeply discounted bottle of this to buy it.
