Tribu Man

A friend of mine wore this the other day and it seriously lingered the entire room and everywhere we went. Its an oud EDP but... most of the ouds ive smelt has the weird stinky pungent smell (i know you guys know what i am referring to). This TRIBU MAN does not have that. Of all the notes I'd say for me it smells like a slight orangy, more dates/sweet, oud. This is absolutely amazing. Will be purchasing soon.

straight up mandarin orangish oud? very powerful scent. can be offensive because of how strong and long lasting it is. dry down is sweet and punchy. the smell lingers. in a good way.

Similar to Boss Bottled Absolu but not quite as enjoyable due to the lack of the fruity davana and a certain velvety sweetness. Tribu Man is actually closest to "The Conqueror" by Voyage Royal. A lot of myrrh and tons of benzoin here coupled with warm and dark woods (I get cedar and labdanum and touch of oud, and maybe gaiac), it definitely smells brown just as the bottle implies. A good dose of patchouli as well gives it a slight chocolately vibe, which coupled with the darkness in the woody accord has some connection to the original A*Men. Another thought I couldn't escape while wearing Tribu Man is it smells like a gift the the three magis would have given. Frankincense and myrrh and a focus on rich resins. This smells authentic, although less overly polished and hyper-real compared to Boss Absolu and I can't deny that I prefer the latter even if it strays farther from natural. Longevity is very good and projection is very good and never obnoxious. The bottles on these are horrendous, plastic covered glass, with a cheap plastic ball cap, and fully plastic atomizer assembly except for the spring. Personally I do find some charm in this bottle. It's not exactly kitsch but channels some kind of 70s vibe and I enjoy it the same way I do those old velvety couches with the sepia toned waterwheel print (iykyk) that were so ubiquitous in our parents or grandparents homes. Just like the couches though I totally understand most would find it hideous and not fit for display. So do I recommend Tribu Man? If you want a more resinous, less sweet/velvety Boss Bottles Absolu, or just want an affordable resin heavy fragrance, it is a great buy. I can't imagine anyone disliking this, and despite my preference for Boss Absolu this will still get some wears come fall and winter, as Tribu Man is cozier and better suited to those kind of days where you just want to wrap yourself in a blanket and unwind with a good book.
