UR for Men

Although I enjoy Usher HE from time to time this one IMO is infinitely better. It is softer and smoother and has just enough lightness to beckon you and strong enough to hold on once it's got you... The opening despite citrusy bergamot and fruity green apple/honeydew accord is not overly fruity and the sea breeze accord mentioned in the PR is more like the drink than the actual wind at the seashore. Intriguing, that it is not overly watery or fruity. The heart combines thai basil, bitter artemisia and oil of bay leaf in perfect proportions to warm and 'green up' the opening but is smooth with the addition of nutmeg and a cool violet leaf note. A warm green; not too herby or too spicy, caresses you as it softly, sweetly kisses your skin. The drydown of woods contains guaiac, sandal and cashmere: a trio of svelte sexiness with a gentle strength and a hint of exotic forests and an earthy depth. This is worth much more to me than I paid for it and is one of the most sensual scents to ever grace my skin! Sillage: good Longevity: pretty good Overall: 3.75/5 If you can't tell, this scent turns me on and I really like it (and so do others; nudge, wink!) and agree with the olfactive classification. It is way more aromatic than it is fuity, and what is there is just enough to sweeten the 'pot' and keep it from being too pungent. This actually gives me confidence and makes me feel more attractive when I wear it. One of the best mass market celeb-scents of the past few years for guys...

This one is kind of hard to catergorize, but I actually like it quite a bit. It's tricky to describe because no single notes really stand out. It has kind of a slight melony smell at first, but then quickly dries down to a really nice sweet herbal feel. It's a very smooth and clean smell, but I wouldn't really call it soapy. I love Cool Water and the mid and base of UR kind of reminds me of cool water, minus the sharper notes, & with a layer of sweetness added on top that kind of resembles bubblegum. As I say, it's hard to describe the notes, but it's sweet, green, clean, & soothing. So I would recommend this one (especially for the price. I picked up a 50ml at Marshalls for $14.99. Definitely a safe, fresh scent buy for under $20).

"UR for Men" by Usher is the perfect grab and go type of fragrance for the spring and summer. It's fresh, fruity, aromatic, and aquatic in its nature and remains quite linear in its lifespan. Speaking of lifespan, its performance clocks in at 6 hours with light projection. Surprisingly, this fragrance closely resembles "Wall Street" by Bond No 9 and "Brickell" by Alt Fragrances, albeit a lighter version of those. I consider this to be highly versatile in the seasons I previously mentioned and is certain to garner positive attention. If you're in search of a pleasant, care-free, and fairly inexpensive scent then I'd suggest giving this a try.

I bought this gem for $30. It smells fresh, green and marine. The greeness gives off a slight mintyness. I love this fragrance out of the shower. It last 2 days on a sleep shirt. No lie. I love this and find myself returning to it at least 3 nights a week. Was still pushing after 6hrs and a trip to the gym. One of the best 6hr+ fresh fragrances in my 100+ collection!!

this is better than his first scent BY FAR! its got a more all round fruity twist, but kinda smells like unforgivable and im not paying 50 to 65 for something that copies a gimmick and changes a couple of notes to call it his

its a nice sweet fresh fougere with good staying power but a bit expensive and really a gimmick since ur paying for a generic scent because a celeb is marketing it look at the top are we payin for the scent or the bottle

Smells 95% similar to Erolfa by Creed! Save a few hundred buck and pick up a solid summer frag that can be spritzed up on the cheap to smell awesome on a hot summer day!

You get that same Ozonic violet leaf you’ve smelled in Burberry touch, budget friendly & highly recommended

“Spicy. Sexy. Polo Sport” Bottle: I bought a 1.0 mL for around $10. I had seen some reviews online and read a few that said it was a great cheapie but I didn’t want to commit. At the time of this review, I have only owned this for a month but I have worn this a couple of times a week. The bottle is very simple. The silver finish and feel is what you would expect from a cheapie I guess - solid but not of the highest quality. The spritzer works good for the bottle’s size. Smelling it: When I first spray this, I get the fresh spicy woodsy scent right away. I then get the marine with a salty/minty essence which definitely reminds me of the aforementioned Polo Sport. The scent has a bit of fruit but it’s no citrus. This adds a little sweetness while retaining a healthy dose of masculinity. Wearing it: When I first sprayed this on my skin, the top notes didn’t jump at me. In fact, I sprayed my wrist 3 times to make sure I wasn’t missing something. After a couple of minutes it hit me. Oh boy... I got a rush of sexiness in a bottle with good if not great projection. The scent holds it’s own at arm’s projection for at least 6-8 hrs then slowly fades down to my skin by hour 10. As I have already said, I purchased this recently (Summer ‘18) and have been wearing this exclusively in warm weather. I could see this performing well in the cold though. For that I would say it works in all seasons. I have worn this to work and I have worn it casually and out at night. I would not call this a formal scent for suit and tie occasions. I would age this scent for the 25-45 crowd give or take a few years for the outliers- cool seniors and mature teens. Verdict: 8/10. Based on what I typically look for in a scent, it’s really hard not to give this one a higher score. To me a good scent is one that my wife likes, gets me compliments from strangers, and doesn’t necessarily break the bank. This one checks all the boxes. If you like your fragrances to create a trail that has women stopping you and asking you what you are wearing, then I would say purchase this immediately. Based on price (100 mL for under $30), projection and wearability it would make a nice signature scent. Do not buy if you are looking for a fresh, citrusy or soapy scent. This is deep fragrance. It is not an unusual or eccentric fragrance. It will likely smell like something to everyone and that smell is really sensual and appealing. Give it a try! You won’t be disappointed and if you are you won’t be out much. Thanks & SYL

Not bad....not bad at all. My sister saw a 1 oz bottle at Walmart for cheap, and since she knows how much I love fragrances, she picked it up for me. When she handed it to me, I thought, "Hmmm, why not give this a go?". I read reviews on it first to get an idea of what I would be working with and this seemed to be getting bashed unanimously! That said, I was a bit uneasy about trying it, especially after VIP, but I took it out anyway and applied it to my skin only to find a very nice aromatic aquatic! I now firmly believe that if someone says this smells bad, they either have not smelled it or they have a fake. Usher Ur is an uninspired creation that oozes banality but it actually smells quite nice for the price. Really nice! I understand it's synthetic but again, what can you expect for 10 bucks? All the notes in here are quite balanced as well. I actually pick up most of the notes quite easily. In the top, you get a fresh bay leaf and basil accord with dominant fruity notes, along with an aquatic accord that remains throughout the duration of the fragrance life. There's a touch of artemesia that gives an herbal tinge, but is rounded by a light tonka bean and a soft musk in the drydown (similar to the musk in Chanel Allure Sport). Surprise surprise, cashmere wood and sandalwood? No wonder this also reminds me of the woodiness in Sean John Unforgivable. They almost smell identical only this isn't as salty nor as heavy on the woods. It's fairly light and pleasant. If you're the kind of guy who sticks to one scent, needs a good starter fragrance (junior high and high school students, I'm talking to you), or just wants to smell nice, Usher UR is a good choice. On my wearings I get 4-6 hours and sillage is actually above average.

Usher has a number of good fragrances but often are a bit too common. Usher He is another Green Irish Tweed dupe but has an interesting addition of suede and is closer to the GIT DNA than say Cool Water or Aspen. Usher VIP is a nice leather fragrance and I could have seen me keeping it in another life had I not owned and liked Curve Crush better. However, UR for Men I think is their best. Now yes, I have not gotten Usher Homme, but it sounds similar to Eternity for Men and I can skip on that for now. Well until I run out on Eternity and I don't see that happening anytime soon... Usher UR for Men is an aquatic. The main notes I notice are the fruity notes, sea water, bay leaf, cashmere wood and guaiac wood. The main note that stands out is the fruity notes which are not specific but has a fruity smell. Honestly UR smells like Paco Rabanne took this base DNA, added the sweetness like they did with Black XS and 1 Million to it, beefed up the performance, and turned it into Invictus. I mean, you get sea water, bay leaf and guaiac wood. The main notes in Invictus not here, are grapefruit (as opposed to fruits), tonka and ambergris. That said, Usher UR also shares similarities to Acqua di Gio fragrances like Acqua di Gio Absolu and Profondo as well but more Absolu. UR for Men is a really good summer and spring fragrance. It is casual and work friendly. It lasts about five hours and does decent sillage wise. Usher UR for Men really is a hidden gem. I feel it gets overlooked because it is a celebrity fragrance and if people think of the Usher brand, it is Usher Him and Usher VIP. I say UR gets an even 7 from me.

I am not sure what it is about this fragrance that woman love so much! I have worn it out to night clubs and every time it never fails that women will ask me what I have on so they can buy it for their significant other. I own quite a few fragrances that are way more expensive and classier than UR but don't garner half as much compliments as this fragrance. I haven't come across anyone that didn't like this scent although to me it smells like pine trees and ammonia with citrus other people seems to love it. I don't like it that much because of the nasty ammonia scent it gives off but I still wear it if I feel like being super social and want compliments. it might be that my bottle is aged but this one smells better on me during cold or fresh nights, it smells less synthetic in the cold temps.

I bought this for my teenage son (13 years old), hoping to wean him off of his rather pedantic addiction to all things "Axe" and on to the more sophisticated world of fragrance. He LOVES it, and it smells amazing on him. Being a teen, his chemistry changes throughout the day and UR mixes quite well with it - he smells just as good at the end of the day as he did leaving the house. A great neutral, fresh scent for the beginner.

Very nice indeed. What I get is a blast of fruits at the top, and then.........MINT. Yes, mint, and I know is not on the notes, but that is what I get. At the end, the woody notes and something kind of green or herbal come out. This is a very good office scent, if you can get it cheap, buy it. I almost forgot....for some strange reason......women really like this scent!

For my first spray, I absolutely hated this... Smelled like rubbing alcohol, after giving the bottle some time to sit with the cap off... I can say that it's actually not bad, grabbed a few compliments my first night wearing it, very sweet but not overly. Projected for a solid 3 1/2 hours, and then turned into a skin scent for a couple more hours.

This stuff is great. It is a scent I got for free from Amazon because they sent me a sour and Leaky bottle of Swiss Army. (eew) Usher UR is very chemically at 1st, but dies down to a very masculine, sweet, woodsy, Spicy explosion of niceness. Do not wear if you not like compliments. You will get them from everyone.

Got A lot of Compliments out of it Definitely a safe option rate : 7/10 Its Cheap, you can get it from 15 to 22 $, U cannot go wrong with this one. Fresh, and versatile

This smells like a fresher,more synthetic version of Creeds Himalaya ! Im surprised no one has commented or picked up on that :)

This is actually a really nice fragrance, like others said and I agree much better than the original.

A mildly sweet and spicy fragrance that also has an ozonic soapiness to it. Erolfa has more citrus and is more of a fresh clean smell, whereas this one is soapy. Can be worn casually and great for the office as it isn't loud and is inoffensive.

I smell pine and woods. I’m not picking up on any fruit. I do notice the faint mint that others have mentioned here. It’s a pleasant soapy fragrance.

This is one of the most boring, generic smelling scents I have ever experienced! Hate it! I have to find a way to get rid of this bottle! Just not good at all. This is a major departure from the signature scent by Usher, which was a bit synthetic, but beautifully incense-y after dry-down. The problem with Usher offerings, though, is longevity, which, for me, is 2, maybe 4, hours on all I have tried. Ur? Even though 2 hours is about it, it still lasts too long. As soon as I applied it, I wanted it to go away!

This fragrance feels like someone tried to copy Dior Sauvage notes but did a terrible job. top notes give me somehow a good fresh ocean smelling middle note are fine woody notes But base notes remind me a scent that I have in my memory of a pile of garbage.!!! Terrible, I guess that's why there are to many dislikes for this. If you close your eyes, you can picture yourself in an ocean where there are so many trash on the beach... Sorry but this is my honest review!!!

I tested this and Erolfa side by side. UR for him, lasted 3 hrs, Erolfa - changes its character (pine, floral) after 3 hours. Either one is not for me. I will stick with others. Considering its under $20, ......... Nope, still not getting it. There are so many other fragrance you can purchase to have fun with, or discovery sets.

Nothing new and nothing special about this one. Too generic and synthetic. Smells like millions other cheap colognes outta here (Adidas, Puma, FCUK etc.) Tottaly non-descript smell and doesn't last long. Maybe good gift for teenage dude?!

Curtain spray. Its pleasant enough for that purpose, but I just cant smell this thing when sprayed on me. At best, it smells like a lightweight version of Lynx. Not even worth the single figure price tag

Man, I got an actual sample of this and it was the worst thing ever. Smelt like fermented fruit and liquorice... not pleasant...

Paugh. Smells cheap, indifferent, uninteresting and mass market. The bottle has a nice glassy/metallic feel to it, however.

UR for Men is a shockingly well balanced and simple, well executed and affordable citrus sandalwood fragrance. It is inoffensive enough to work perfectly for work or casual affairs and fresh enough to allow for a tremendous amount of versatility and can be worn in any season or climate. UR is the pick of the litter of the Usher brand for men and though not exceedingly exceptional or memorable, deserves consideration at budget prices for its well balanced and formulated structure and rather pleasant duft. Given the difficulty of sandalwood sometimes dominating fresher scent dry downs that contain it in heavier doses, the noses behind UR have managed to keep the sandalwood in check with a nice hint of cashmere wood, nutmeg and basil that are subtle enough that they don't distract from the oceanic citric and woodsy Nauticaesque vibe of UR. This keeps the sandalwood a bit more at arm's length and less in your face as the far too sandalwood heavy Quicksilver for Men, similar to UR but not as well balanced nor as fruity throughout. Projection is quite impressive when measured against similar fresh scents of its nature and longevity is quite serviceable on most skin, with 5-8 hours the norm, outpacing many higher-end fresh designer scents. UR is well worth exploring for those on a budget or looking for an everyday fresh casual, sport or work fragrance. The best value of the three Usher fragrances for men and undeserving of dismissal simply for being affiliated with an R&B mogul.

This is alright. I certainly like it better than the original black bottle Usher frag. Yeah, it smells kind of cheap and generic. Plus the longevity/projection seems suspect at times. Mostly what I get is kind of a light synthetic fruity opening that quickly morphs into a predominately spicy, woody, aquatic smell with some laundry musk. However, the one thing that keeps it a bit interesting to my nose is I swear I get MINT in here!(even though it's listed nowhere in the note breakdown) And with the addition of that note, it makes it a bit lighter and more refreshing feel over the dominant spicy/woody smell. This stuff is dirt cheap and light enough I could never see it offending anyone, unless said person literally bathed in it. I think this could be a good choice as a starter scent for a teen.

I picked this up for my husband when I see it for 9.99 at Ross's(blind buy). The best I can say is-its ok, nothing to write home about. its fresh and spicy at the same time, with aquatic note. I can't say its my favorite and I actually like aquatic scents. My husband's verdict was same as mine"its ok, kind of generic smelling". Lasting power appears to be rather short lived as well.

I felt the fruit on the opening closer to a generic citrus feel than an actual fruity feel. I didnt feel many nots in the way of woods and spices until deep into the drydown, once the cirtus-generic mention had subsided, which is when the smell got really nice, but too late as the projectin has died by this stage. Try for yourself, but i was personally dissapointed.

this is so much better then his original fragrance. the original reminded me of so many other mens fragrances. it was nothing special. but ur i have to say is quite great. it doesnt smell like ure typical mens fresh scent. i really enjoy it and im sure to add it to my collection. i think its the nutmag and the basil that give it a little kick.

Nothing terrible about this fragrance, but yes, it is generic. It reminds me a bit of FCUK Friction for Him but Friction is nicer with a dry sort of coconut note. I've smelled lots of other things reminiscent of UR. Some of them quite popular. This would be a nice starter fragrance / gift for a guy in his teens.

This is a bit of a weaker version of Chanel allure and escape by CK except not as bubblegum like. It's very generic and although it stays on my skin for hours its not memorable and prob won't receive compliments . Bottle is nice though but I never really cared for celebrity scents anyway

Ahhh.. Where do i start. one of close friend got this from States, I was all excited about the perfume. Seriosly kinda disappointed. Damn this fades like so soon. Maybe I will give the credit for the smell, its alright very masculine and spicy / woody. Well for me its 3/10

Reminds me of John Varvatos regular (original?) on the dry down. Pleasant scent, but I already have Varvatos, so I don't need to double up. If you don't, might be worth trying out.

This is a great fragrance, it has a nice masculine musky citrus vibe. Longetivity is a few hours. It reminds me of the Sean John Unforgivable, but better.

I like the way it smells. Similar to nothing. I have many cologne but whenever i apply one of them i wanted to back to this especially in early spring.

This is amazing it does more than just projects for a few hours it radiates and last longer than uranium on me. Exactly definition of Hidden gem.
