Moss Rock 苔庭

So so so lovely. Today is dark and humid with a small thunderstorm rolling in and it feels like the perfect atmosphere to wear this. It's herby and almost vegetal on initial spray then settles down into exactly what it says on the tin: the earth, moss, stone and rain are all there and it does an amazing job at capturing a full scene. It's not as bright as some other rainy fragrances I've tried, but it ends up feeling damp and dark in a serene, familiar way. Like what Arrietty might smell like after a rainy outing in the overgrown garden. To me the scent profile is quite linear and longevity is ok - not as long-lasting as other Uttori scents I've tried, but for its price I don't mind much. Definitely think it's worth a try if you're looking for a rain-themed perfume with a bit of a mineralic and earthy presence.

It is what it claims to be: a mineralic, mossy rock after a rain storm. It’s earthy & lovely. An incredible value.

Really atmospheric, without reading the name of this fragrance, it feels more like an artistic depiction of the start of a storm brewing, wetting the earth with heavy rain around a rocky region. Kind of moody, feels 'wet', mineralic. I'm not sure if this is typical but the Chinese houses I have tried so far (3 now) tend to have a rather 'clean' drydown- it never gets weird or crazy when compared to other houses from other regions I have tried. I need to try this a few more times, but for the price and size, especially if you prefer smaller bottles or need to keep the size of your collection in check....? Kind of a steal. I think if you're in the EN crowd, I'd dabble on this.
