Valentino Donna Born in Roma Green Stravaganza

I love it. If you like the smell of sweet or gourmand perfumes but can't wear them because it starts to smell like baby puke and spilled McDonald's hotcake syrup after it sits on your skin for a while, try this one. That being said, if that's the way your natural body scent works, you can get away with wearing this one any season rather than the recommended spring/summer. Very simple and straightforward notes, but the tea and the vanilla stick out the most, the jasmine/white floral is more like the supporting actor. Smells gourmand without being too "foody" and potentially nauseating, the tea and the jasmine keeps it fresh and invigorating. In my opinion, because of its simplicity, it doesn't evoke a specific location/event when I take a whiff, like the way Acqua Di Parma reminds me of a sunny seaside village stroll in Santorini or Sadonaso by Nasomatto takes me back to the time I accidentally walked into the men's restroom after drinking an espresso martini. No... It makes me feel nostalgic for an imaginary place and time that never existed but also exists in the minds of others. It makes me think of Alice... lost amongst the singing flowers of a massive maze like garden... stumbling across a whimsical unexpected bunch of characters having a tea party, serving stacks of cakes and sweets with tea tea and more tea.... lol i dunno i'm just saying random stuff, I just enjoy this perfume, okay? Have fun trying to pry them from my cold dead hands if they ever discontinue it *knock on wood*

This is one of those perfumes that BLOOMS on skin! When I first smelled it, I thought 'oh, nothing special, just another fresh vanilla', couldn't smell the tea.. boy was I wrong, give this one a chance. This perfume is literal FAIRY DUST. Iced jasmine green tea + soft ozonic springtime vanilla, and such a compliment magnet. If you love fairy-like enchanting + whimsical scents, or witchy & aromatic scents but still soft & feminine, try this. There is something so special and unique about this perfume, it has a unique sparkling quality to it, which makes it feel like this light airy pixie dust. The tea really comes out but not in that classic bitter dry way, but in a fresh green & aromatic way, and it has become my most favourite unique fresh-feeling vanillas. It's my most feminine tea scent alongside Indigo by Nest (= amazing layering combo btw). The Born In Roma line has a way of making scents feel like a 'spray-on aura', and you feel lifted, magical and so feminine. This is like a green tea fresher version of the original. They've taken the warmth and turned it into a cooling summery version. One more thing, if you grew up in Asia - I grew up in Singapore, where tea scents are everywhere, every air freshener is tea-scented, this is for you! This reminds me of home whilst feeling like it's still a vanilla scent. I can't believe I nearly wrote it off, because now I feel the need to buy backup bottles!

i actually love this! it’s like a crystallized green tea candy to my nose. i only have a mini splash bottle i received as a gift with the ivory flanker, sadly i can’t excuse a purchase of this at the moment until i finish off some of my current perfumes. soo fresh and perfectly sugared without being cloying. slightly soapy too, but it’s soft enough to keep it fresh without veering into full on hand soap territory. i think this is great for someone who is bored with their current sweet scents and works in a fast paced environment. it is bright and has enough sweetness that doesn’t become too much mixed with the warmth of running around a lot. i want this so bad now, i wish i had been able to try this before i bought the ivory flanker. i totally would’ve preferred this over ivory lol. the notes didn’t draw me in when i had previously looked up this fragrance.. this also smells amazing on my boyfriend.

I found this unremarkable at first sniff but man has it become a real favourite. This is not a complex perfume but I find myself reaching for it day after day as a beautiful "easy wear." It is a pretty tea and jasmine scent - I don't get any serious wafts of vanilla just small hints in the drydown. I would not classify this as a gourmand whatsoever. It is fresh and feminine and intriguing and I find I can't stop sniffing my wrists. I do not get the lime candy vibes some are suggesting and I don't find this to be at all a sweet perfume, though there seems to be a fruit note that isn't listed in the notes. Comparisons to Burberry Goddess are crazy to me, as that is a lavender bomb and there is no lavender or medicinal notes here. Sillage is very good and longevity is decent; I do find I need to re-spritz at midday (fine by me). And that green juice....I mean c'mon. Gorgeous.

So, I’m not quite as eloquently spoken as some of the more experienced collectors but speaking as someone who’s been working at a beauty counter for the past year and a bit now this fragrance truly is a very flexible scent. It’s just warm and vanilla enough that you can wear it in the winter without it seeming out of place and still fresh enough to wear in the summer. It also transitions from a day to night fragrance pretty smoothly as well. The longevity I find is pretty decent by my standard I typically only reapply maybe one spray on the neck after 4-5 hours if I’m feeling fancy. Overall this one has really stood out to me as one of my personal favourites, of the probably near hundreds that I deal with daily. I also keep track of which fragrances customers compliment me on and this is one of the top ones, lol
