Valentino Donna Born in Roma Green Stravaganza

I love it. If you like the smell of sweet or gourmand perfumes but can't wear them because it starts to smell like baby puke and spilled McDonald's hotcake syrup after it sits on your skin for a while, try this one. That being said, if that's the way your natural body scent works, you can get away with wearing this one any season rather than the recommended spring/summer. Very simple and straightforward notes, but the tea and the vanilla stick out the most, the jasmine/white floral is more like the supporting actor. Smells gourmand without being too "foody" and potentially nauseating, the tea and the jasmine keeps it fresh and invigorating. In my opinion, because of its simplicity, it doesn't evoke a specific location/event when I take a whiff, like the way Acqua Di Parma reminds me of a sunny seaside village stroll in Santorini or Sadonaso by Nasomatto takes me back to the time I accidentally walked into the men's restroom after drinking an espresso martini. No... It makes me feel nostalgic for an imaginary place and time that never existed but also exists in the minds of others. It makes me think of Alice... lost amongst the singing flowers of a massive maze like garden... stumbling across a whimsical unexpected bunch of characters having a tea party, serving stacks of cakes and sweets with tea tea and more tea.... lol i dunno i'm just saying random stuff, I just enjoy this perfume, okay? Have fun trying to pry them from my cold dead hands if they ever discontinue it *knock on wood*

This is one of those perfumes that BLOOMS on skin! When I first smelled it, I thought 'oh, nothing special, just another fresh vanilla', couldn't smell the tea.. boy was I wrong, give this one a chance. This perfume is literal FAIRY DUST. Iced jasmine green tea + soft ozonic springtime vanilla, and such a compliment magnet. If you love fairy-like enchanting + whimsical scents, or witchy & aromatic scents but still soft & feminine, try this. There is something so special and unique about this perfume, it has a unique sparkling quality to it, which makes it feel like this light airy pixie dust. The tea really comes out but not in that classic bitter dry way, but in a fresh green & aromatic way, and it has become my most favourite unique fresh-feeling vanillas. It's my most feminine tea scent alongside Indigo by Nest (= amazing layering combo btw). The Born In Roma line has a way of making scents feel like a 'spray-on aura', and you feel lifted, magical and so feminine. This is like a green tea fresher version of the original. They've taken the warmth and turned it into a cooling summery version. One more thing, if you grew up in Asia - I grew up in Singapore, where tea scents are everywhere, every air freshener is tea-scented, this is for you! This reminds me of home whilst feeling like it's still a vanilla scent. I can't believe I nearly wrote it off, because now I feel the need to buy backup bottles!

i actually love this! it’s like a crystallized green tea candy to my nose. i only have a mini splash bottle i received as a gift with the ivory flanker, sadly i can’t excuse a purchase of this at the moment until i finish off some of my current perfumes. soo fresh and perfectly sugared without being cloying. slightly soapy too, but it’s soft enough to keep it fresh without veering into full on hand soap territory. i think this is great for someone who is bored with their current sweet scents and works in a fast paced environment. it is bright and has enough sweetness that doesn’t become too much mixed with the warmth of running around a lot. i want this so bad now, i wish i had been able to try this before i bought the ivory flanker. i totally would’ve preferred this over ivory lol. the notes didn’t draw me in when i had previously looked up this fragrance.. this also smells amazing on my boyfriend.

I found this unremarkable at first sniff but man has it become a real favourite. This is not a complex perfume but I find myself reaching for it day after day as a beautiful "easy wear." It is a pretty tea and jasmine scent - I don't get any serious wafts of vanilla just small hints in the drydown. I would not classify this as a gourmand whatsoever. It is fresh and feminine and intriguing and I find I can't stop sniffing my wrists. I do not get the lime candy vibes some are suggesting and I don't find this to be at all a sweet perfume, though there seems to be a fruit note that isn't listed in the notes. Comparisons to Burberry Goddess are crazy to me, as that is a lavender bomb and there is no lavender or medicinal notes here. Sillage is very good and longevity is decent; I do find I need to re-spritz at midday (fine by me). And that green juice....I mean c'mon. Gorgeous.

So, I’m not quite as eloquently spoken as some of the more experienced collectors but speaking as someone who’s been working at a beauty counter for the past year and a bit now this fragrance truly is a very flexible scent. It’s just warm and vanilla enough that you can wear it in the winter without it seeming out of place and still fresh enough to wear in the summer. It also transitions from a day to night fragrance pretty smoothly as well. The longevity I find is pretty decent by my standard I typically only reapply maybe one spray on the neck after 4-5 hours if I’m feeling fancy. Overall this one has really stood out to me as one of my personal favourites, of the probably near hundreds that I deal with daily. I also keep track of which fragrances customers compliment me on and this is one of the top ones, lol

This is probably my favorite perfume as of late. I can’t stop wearing it! It was a love at first sniff when I tested it at the store, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it for days. To me, the tea, jasmine and vanilla blend together so that none of the three stand out too much from the other in a really beautiful way. This scent is mouthwatering and sparkling, but also soft and sensual. The Vibes: You escaped a stuffy formal mansion party with a cup of tea to the maze garden in the backyard. Theres jasmine growing around the garden and it feels playful and magical - like there could be fairies or bunnies waiting to play throughout the maze. It’s nighttime and the bright vanilla moonlight is reflecting off the small glittering pond. You finally feel like yourself out here.

I'm not a fan of the original Born in Roma or any of its flankers, but this one is a total win for me. I'm a warm gourmand gal, so coming across something that is sweet but fresh is hard for me. This checks off all the boxes. It's sweet, floral, fresh, and just the right amount of green without being grassy, if that makes sense. I will say, though, the lapsang souchoung top note is a lie. I get a green tea note for sure, but lapsang souchoung? That's my favorite tea, but it smells almost like a barbecue. I was expecting this to have that smoky black tea opening, but no. It's not even smoky at all. I think "matcha" as a top note would've been more curate. Or, granny smith apple, even. Still, it's one I've been reaching for again and again!

This heavenly floral candy!!! 🍭 I’m not a gourmand candy scent lover- I love the candy like florals that are sweet and gorgeous! This is IT! And it is singing her praises in this early fall weather! I walk around and get wafts of this and it’s so delightful 💕. It does change with the temps- as all fragrances do and this one is lovely in many different temperatures - it’s 74 degrees right now and it smells the best at this temp in fall- imo. I don’t think early summer late spring 74 would have the same scent this is giving in fall 74 temp. Seriously try it in September around 70 degrees and you’ll smell the magic I’m talking about! This is definitely a top 3 for early fall fragrances. Number 1 right now!

And l can recommand this little beauty with a glass of dry white wine and "10,000 promisess" of Backstreet Boys, max loudness, and replay, hey-hey-hey, it's saturday, and party is on my schedule! Yes, l have a little baby-bottle of this gorgeous green water, 1.FL.OZ. and my skin loves this perfume, sjasmins and sjasmins, and moore sjasmins, perfect blended with this delisjiuss vanilla, and ups, am l all alone by myself?, haven't noticez that, work your body, love is in the air, and this perfume is so euforisk good, and l want a back-up-bottle to overspray myself every saturday! This is my favorite flanker of the Donna Born in Roma line, and one of my favorite perfumes in general. The tea note is fresh and bold and mingles so well with the jasmine, while the vanilla adds just a bit of sweetness in the dry down. This is really well balanced, not overpowering, and really great for daily wear. I prefer this for warmer weather during the day, but I could honestly see this as someone's signiture scent wore year round. I really like to wear this at home after a shower, where I really enjoy pairing it with Phlur's Matcha Milk body spray lately. The tea notes go great together and the Matcha Milk gives the perfume just a little more sweetness and creaminess.

I live in Florida and I realized I really needed a perfume more suitable for spring / summer weather . My favorite color is green so the bottle women me over initially , but the scent made me realize that purchasing the 3.4 oz was the best idea . It’s fresh , sexy and has a calming quality about it . My husband came into our bedroom after I sprayed it and said I smelled really good . I have a fair amount of perfumes and he doesn’t always compliment them but did with this one . If you are looking something that projects to everyone around you this might not be the one . But it’s a beautiful scent to have in your collection especially for a warm spring or summer day .

I normally don't go for jasmine fragrances... she's just not my vibe. Needless to say I would have never chose this for myself. I got this as a gift from my husband for our first wedding anniversary. He picked it because he liked it. It's special to me for that reason but additionally because it's sooooo nice. In my opinion it's very well blended and sweet. It has almost a fruity thickness. It comes off pretty sexy to my nose... I really love the tea note. It lightens things up. I was so pleasantly surprised by this one. I feel like it could be worn day or night and all year round (in my climate at least). It's a love for me... Hubby has got good taste.

I ordered this with some hesitation because I don't like "green" notes. This is not green at all! No grassy or leafy notes. It's a sweet, little bit fruity fragrance. I swear there is kiwi or some sort of melon in here? The tea note is not dominant. It's like tea if you added a ton of sugar to it. A hint of sweet spearmint, I think. No smokiness. No woody notes. It's a sweet, fresh, pleasant scent that is perfect for spring. If you like Coral Fantasy, as I do, I think you will also like this. Also, it is not a huge room-filler---it's more subtle. Agewise- I think any age group would enjoy it, all the way down to teenagers. It has a youthful vibe.

Now, I can say that I tried this two times last week in two different days. We already have this at shoppers drug mart (my favourite store by the way) and for me this is vey nice . In the beginning it’s kind of chanel eau fresh eau de parfum , not exactly, but in that direction, then the parfum change in dry down. I personally detect some mint and a lot of green herbs , but elegant smelling herbs and really to me the dry down smells so similar to Herba Fresca Guerlain. It’s more unique compare with what we have on market this days, fresh and uplifting , moderate lasting. I really like it and going to buy a bottle

honestly i get green apple in the opening..... and when it dries down i mainly get this beautiful delicate green tea, with a splash of vanilla and jasmine. it's not synthetic at all, absolutely a photorealistic scent, like u rubbed some green tea spiced with jasmine and vanilla into ur skin. and is a perfect delicate lightweight fragrance for daily use! not too loud, sweet, or overpowering, just a perfect green tea scent. so lovely. i wish it was cheaper or there were better dupes out there *cries* so light, airy, fresh, and clean! obsessed!! i think it's perfect for any season, but best in winter and spring

Ughhhh!!! I have the worst luck at finding scents I'm obsessed with AND that fit my chemistry AND my vibe, BUT also stay and project the way I want them to. This is an excellent example. It's such a simple, feminine scent. Lightly floral, lightly herbal, and lightly sweet. Just a fun and flirtatious spring/summer vibe. It starts as a floral/herbal and settles as floral/sweet vanilla on my skin. More feminine opening, but a clean fem/unisex drydown. My only complaint is the quality for the price. It projects for maybe 45 minutes to an hour, and lasts on my skin/clothes maybe 2 hours max.

Definitely a perfume that reacts differently to your skin chemistry, so I would not recommend a blind buy. That being said, I really love it. It is a bit milder than its other DBiR flankers, and not super boozy like the original, so it's more of a daytime fresh perfume. That being said I don't get smokiness like I would have expected of a Lapsang Souchong note. Lapsang smells like sticking your face in a barbecue grill. If anything they're going hard on the pine note in it, so with the sweetness it's more like a pine needle syrup top note to me.

I love this scent and I have since I first smelled it buuuut it does not stick for any reason or under any circumstances... Either that or my nose goes blind to it far too quickly. But this is love in a bottle to me so if it would just stick to me a little longer so I wouldn’t have to touch it up all the time I would have it as my signature scent. At the very least this one goes in my aroma diffusers because this scent is so clean and so walk in the garden that I do not mind having this be my at home scent. Makes it smell clean and green

Another donna born in roma flanker that managed to steal my heart. This is so pretty & luminous, to my nose its straight forward: Jasmine tea with lemon. Nothing more,nothing less,just pleaseant to the nose, now i did see people saying that this allegedly has/or is supposed to have a incense note? I didnt get any incense or smokiness which is kinda sad coz i think that would have had made this perfume More richer than it is. Will definetly & sadly(for my wallet) get this,i think it will be a good perfume to wear to work.

This is the only Valentino Born in Roma for me. The Lapsang Souchong tea smells like pine resin, light amber, pink-bubble-gum, beautifully combined with a gorgeous jasmine absolute and a rich vanilla extract. It smells like the most vibrant lightly creamed black tea with a slice of freshly baked vanilla lemon cake without frosting. It's refreshing, fluffy, and clean. This fragrance is DIVINE! Hands down the best DBIR flanker and miles better than the original, which I absolutely cannot stand. This has the vanilla and sweetness that I expected from the OG with a hint of that beautiful earthy, refreshingly zingy tea note 🥰. To me this is comparable to Nest Indigo, but less moody and more cutesy and lightweight. If you have Kilian Princess, try layering it with this. This combo is crazyyyy delicious and light enough for the summer IMO. It’s also a pretty damn good compliment magnet if you care!

This IS the perfect sweet airy fairy 🧚 robust gorgeous fragrance. It’s not food sweet, it’s fresh and floral sweet without smelling like what you expect flowers to smell like. I don’t get a tea scent- I don’t like the smell of most teas. The jasmine is strong but it’s the sweet jasmine it doesn’t have that diaper smell. It’s just one of the most gorgeous fragrances ever to be made! Along with its big sister Roma Gold- two best fragrances EVER.

You see the green color you think fresh, herbal, earthy. Valentino made single one mistake on this one, the color of the fragrance should be transparent. Other than that, it’s flawless. Cozy, clean, white floral. Giving some Chloe vibe. The vanilla is subtle, so if you don’t want to smell like baked goods, this is for you. You just want to smell your wrist all the time. It evolves beautifully. The best born in Roma by far.

After the first five minutes or so I really started to love it. It's fresh, light and airy. As well as sweet, pleasant, and very likeable. Reminds me of springtime weather but could be worn any time. It's a "when in doubt, wear this" perfume. I agree that it smells like the entire perfume section.. and it does give "designer" vibes. BUT, it's such a great pick and in my opinion would be a great staple in any collection.

I sampled this and at first I was like hmmph..then I loooooved it. The tea in this is beautiful, and I could've sworn something a little citrusy about it but to my surprise none. This the perfum I fantasize about being gifted, it's a lighthearted all around, not doing the most , but still exciting yet calming and smells fun, I'd wear it all the time...but with the price point...I can't lol.

I bought this without knowing the notes. I would have never guessed the opener was supposed to be a smoky tea. This is a sweet smelling perfume. I can definitely smell the jasmine and vanilla in it along with something else. I could have bought any perfume in Sephora that day and after about 20 min of testing landed on this one. It smells so good. Its gonna be my summer scent.

In all honesty, I am not so great at writing reviews; although I feel I must say good things to let all this positivity in me out, wherever it may reach and change. This fragrance is not something that can be just liked, it’s loved and appreciated by all those who have been graced by this beautiful and unforgettable, true to Valentino’s name, white floral stunner. I was not expecting to fall in love with this scent at all! The bottle intrigued me and one spray had me coming back to it after sampling the entire perfume wall at Sephora. I could NOT stop sniffing the sampler it’s so bright and delicious. My boyfriend says he found it to be warm and sweet but I got all tea and florals but so good I got the biggest size I’m in love.

This is such a good flanker with a unique twist. There’s a clear tea note in the opening that lingers on the skin, and the dry down is more floral and vanilla-forward without being too sweet. It’s really calming, and the more I've been wearing it, the more I've fallen in love with it. Perfect for daytime wear in spring and summer. A new favorite for sure!

This is a very comforting scent. It opens with tea, and even as it fades, I can still catch delicate whiffs for a couple of hours. Then it develops into a sweet, gentle, pretty jasmine. The composition overall feels calming and loving, like a soft, reassuring hug. The longevity is about 4 hours but I can smell a bit on my clothes way longer.

Matcha/Green Tea isn’t listed but I swear it’s there. I don’t get any Lapsang, which is smoked tea. There are reviews on here saying this is TOO smoky...did we smell the same perfume? It’s just fresh and unisex to me. Absolutely yummy and cheerful! My husband and I big fans of the Born in Roma line. Gonna grab mini of this for next summer.

This past weekend I wore this to a 10,000 person event in the city and I rec'd endless compliments from people I knew and didn't know. Every time I went in for a hug someone said I smelled amazing and people made me show them on my phone which perfume it was. Say what you want about it, but it garners beautiful compliments.

I actually really like this! More so than the OG. At first spray it’s very sweet but once it settles it’s woody sweet. this is a great late summer early fall fragrance to me. Longevity isn’t that great on me unless I layer with body lotion. Sillage lash longer and will trail behind you for sure!

I adore this fragrance and can’t say I’ve smelled anything like it. It has three layers you can distinctly smell and it makes me feel sexy and unique. However, two of my friends have had hard no reactions, saying it sticks in their nose. I could literally wear this all day and not tire of it.

This scent is just heaven to me, spraying it brings me incredible joy. However, I will fully agree with previous reviews that the lasting power is not great, even for a green- herbal fragrance. If an Intense or Extrait version was released, I would be the first in line.

I can't think of a fragrance that is similar. The name didn't appeal to me so I let it sit for months before I tried it and I honestly love it. Enough to buy that biggest bottle available with no regrets. But I am a tried and true lover of Valentino's fragrances.

This perfume reminded me why I love jasmine. It’s fresh, clean, bright, crisp and uplifting with just the right touch of sweetness. It arrived as a tester in a Sephora order, and I’m so pleasantly surprised. I never would have considered it before, but wow.

My absolute FAVORITE out of all of the flankers! So bright, fresh, fruity and magnetic! The tea note adds a lovley greenness to it that I enjoy year around. Don't sleep on this in the fall/winter! The crisp air brings even more life to Green Extravaganza.

smells so delightful, clean, and inviting. not something i usually go for, but i have a positive experience with this on skin and clothes. i will say it's a bit unisex despite being marketed as womens fragrance but i adore it even more for that quality.

I like this scent because it doesn’t have the signature scent of Donna in the rest of the flankers. She’s a pretty tea scent. She’s not beast mode. You do not have a scent trail but she’s comfortable to wear in settings if you don’t know what to wear .

i've had this for almost a year and it has definitely gotten sweeter compared to when i first got it. it still has that green quality in the opening but the dry down is way smoother, not as sharp, and there's a slight savory to this that i love so much

I used to love it, it was love at first sniff. Now i think the tea is coming little bit too strong, but oh...vanilla and jasmine comes so good together. Thinking about buying it again.. I am original BIR lover, but I don't think they have the same DNA.

I’m absolutely in love with this one, I like the entire range of Valentino DBIR but this one is just perfect. A mix of fresh green tea notes, lovely subtle jasmine in the middle and a creamy vanilla base. Very sexy and underrated. On my wishlist.

Tea! It's photorealistic tea! I'm so happy to have found it. It's so hard to find one that isn't buried in other notes. This is what a tea should be. Can be worn all year round, doesn't fill a room but will be noticed at arm's length. Perfect.

Pretty much the only Born in Roma fragrance I own and that I genuinely LOVE. The green tea note in this is beautiful and almost gives it an unisex vibe. The perfect balance between a smooth, sweet vanilla and fresh jasmine and tea

This is one of my favorite fragrances ever. I sampled it in Sephora and I went back and got a travel size. It is a light and sweet fragrance. Good for the spring and summer. My only issue is I wish it had more staying power.

The tea fragrance appears early but settles in quickly. I don't get the smoky note others refer to, but what remains in really pleasant. As a fan of jasmine, I'm pleased that note is dominant and persistent.

There are no notes of citrus in this scent, but somehow I get a lemon or bergamot oil. The tea note mixed with that phantom note makes this so airy and springy. This is my favorite flanker of the DBIR line.

Fresh, green and full of tea and vanilla this one really grew on me. It’s not my usual style, but I actually enjoy it a lot !!!🥰 It’s light, easy to wear but sexy and very comfortable. Love it ! 9/10
