Aqua Oriens

It's a shame some people on here didn't like this, but each to his own. As for me, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it! For years I've been using Chanel's Chance Eau Fraiche and have been wanting to change it up a bit. I've been looking around for ages for something of similar fresh, feminine and sophisticated quality. Today I found it in Aqua Oriens :) The opening of this perfume is definitely the winner - glittering citrus, sweet fruits, white flowers. Within about a half hour it goes completely mellow, loses that sparkle and settles into a rather soft orangey, white flowery musk. In fact this is the biggest difference with Chance Eau Fraiche, which actually holds its citrusy green freshness for hours. With this perfume it settles down very quickly, maybe too quickly. I'd say you can wear this perfume all year around, not just summer, because it's a very sophisticated but fresh scent which can be worn any time of day. Last thing is that the bottle is so gorgeous! A bottle collector's dream :) The photos don't do it justice, you need to have it before you to see the dancing aqua colours on the giant gem top (which by the way is quite weighty!)The silver leaves around the gem bring the bottle together with so much elegance. I think anyone who's into classy fresh scents (e.g. Chance eau fraiche, Gucci Gardenia) as opposed to the casual fresh scents (e.g. Davidoff Cool Water) will find this a gem. But definitely test it first, as the glorious burst at the beginning is considerably different from the dry down.

i love this fragrance........another reviewer jrmakeupsrtist sed it perfectly a soft creamy aquatic - she was right - its a sparkly refreshing scent with that creamy touch ............the description for the perfume is spot on as well.......inspired by blue lagoons, heavenly regions, dreams , freedom & happiness........... this is the feeling i get when i wear this perfume - i feel like im on peaceful island with a lagoon thats a beautiful blue green color , white sands , birds chirping , trees swaying in the light wind - and me just relaxing , being happy , & nothing on my mind but dreams :) the lime & pear are blended perfectly - sometimes lime on me can be too spicy or sharp - the orange blossom & honeysuckle is again blended just right - it turns into a beautiful happy soft floral - i know sometimes honeysuckle can be powerful (like in tommy girl ) but not in this fragrance and last but not least oh my fav amber & musk - always a great combo - always settles on me well :) and omg the bottle is to die for lol - gorgeous bottle as with all of van cleef & arpels perfumes

Fantastic, creamy, lemony goodness. The florals are perfectly blended, sprinkled with authentic pear juice. This perfume is weather sensitive. It develops beautifully in early spring, whereas in summer it develops a synthetic note and the florals dissipate within minutes. I bought it blind (blame it on the bottle, lol) three years ago for my summer holiday in Greece. The heat didn't make it bloom the way cool spring air does. I am so glad I retested in the springtime. I've discovered a new love.

The bottle is stunning. I blind bought this fragrance based on the notes, and I'm so glad I did. This is a very refreshing uncomplicated soft creamy aquatic floral. I love the light hearted essence of this fragrance and for me, Oriens Aqua has most everything I look for in a fragrance: Daytime appropriate, soft, ladylike, with just enough zest to keep it interesting. It never smells the same way twice on me and I look forward to wearing this beauty each and every day.

Have to confess that I bought this for the beautiful bottle (I already have Oriens), but being a floral aquatic fan myself, anything with "Aqua" in the name would probably be acceptable. The fragrance has surpassed my expectations, and is simply perfect for the summer. Fresh, soft florals... pity about the longevity though. Still, very pleased with this blind buy.
