Moonlight Cherry

As someone who does not suit oud notes at all, and whose skin usually makes perfume disappear within half an hour, I was very pleasantly surprised by this fragrance. I had been searching for a cherry perfume ever since testing Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry, and I’ve finally found the one for me. Both Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry and Cherry Smoke are lovely, but they don’t last, and after a short time the scent loses its initial appeal. I also enjoyed BDK’s Rouge Smoking and its Intense version—both beautiful compositions—but they didn’t wear well on me (the Intense lasted longer, while the original disappeared within ten minutes, no matter how much I sprayed). Moonlight Cherry, on the other hand, contains no oud and lasts for over seven hours on my skin. I’ve fallen in love with it and am so happy to have finally found a fragrance that truly suits me.

been on the hunt for a cherry perfume and i have to say this is the best hands down!!!! a lot better than TF lost cherry though they don’t remind me that much of each other. moonlight cherry is much more boozy and rich! it’s not a synthetic cherry at all and the cherry doesn’t go away even after hours of wearing it! the coffee rounds off the sweetness and the rum gives a boozy twist to it yet it’s not too heavy. dries down to a creamy vanilla cherry scent🍦🍒 if i had to describe what it smells like it would be an expensive ass chocolate!!!🍫 awesome projection and super long lasting😍 worth every penny!!! perfect for the holidays and the cold weather! it might be my new signature winter scent!❄️✨

a more boozy lost cherry and the almond is more woody than sweet. Cherry itself is similar to lost cherry (maybe a bit darker)...and longevity is def better than lost cherry. I've not smellt the bdc cherry and this is def the best cherry in my collection (as someone who owns LC, cherry darling and cherry who...and love no shame from plume impressions which is also a nice cherry but more of a cherry strawberry oud to me)

I'm really 50/50 when it comes to cherry, but this one is the cherry in a blackforest gateau with lots of almond and a touch of booze. This is a sexy, sultry, evening scent. Not too loud or heavy. Not the most complex, but I actually think that's a good thing. Sophisticated, elegant and inviting 🍒

Wow this is amazing! I just tested it on the airport in Amsterdam. So now it is released, for sure. I haven't tested it side by side to any other cherry fragrance, but it reminds me of lost cherry by tom ford. However, this is deeper and more mature. Still has a good sweetness to it.

Definitely resembles Lost Cherry, but it doesn't have the incensy dry down. Instead this goes towards cherry blossom direction. I like. If you hate Lost Cherry, don't even bother with this one.

I tried today in the store and it very remind me TF - lost cherry 🍒 😻 smells amazing. It will be definitely on my purchase lists.

So comforting and a "grown up" boozy cherry scent. Makes you sniff your skin constantly. And absolute love for me.

Yes the cherry is very present but to my noise it doesn’t smell like lost cherry or black opium red.

The best cherry perfume! It’s absolutely perfect

This is long lasting Lost Cherry.

Moonlight Cherry is, in my view, a bold and distinctive fragrance that announces itself from the very first spray. It opens with a juicy, cocktail‐like cherry burst, almost syrupy before the bitter almond note quickly takes over. That almond becomes one of the main pillars of the scent and stays noticeable the whole way through. As it develops, the cherry softens but doesn’t disappear, and about half an hour in the vanilla and rum start warming it up. There’s also a subtle coffee note underneath everything, becoming a bit more noticeable a couple of hours later. The scent initially leans slightly feminine, but once it develops, the rum and almond give it a more masculine edge, making it genuinely hard to classify as either a men’s or women’s fragrance. The progression is pretty interesting: it starts off fresh and slightly sour, then gradually turns sweeter, cozier, and more enveloping. The most important thing to know, though, is just how strong this perfume is. One spray is honestly enough when you’re first trying it. Overspraying pushes it into a very harsh, boozy sweetness with a sharp edge, and it can easily fill a room. Even after a shower, it tends to cling stubbornly. Because of its extreme intensity and unusual profile, this is definitely not something to blind buy. It’s niche, unique, and hard to compare to anything else. With a couple sprays, it’s comforting and memorable, if overapplied, it becomes overwhelming strong. The performance is excellent, and the sillage is strong enough that people several meters away will smell it. I think that Moonlight Cherry shines best in cold weather winter and late autumn, while summer would likely make it feel too heavy. It’s not an everyday scent, but it works well for evenings, events, or moments when you want something more romantic and sweet. At around 140–175 euros, it’s worth the lower end of that range if you enjoy bold cherry‐almond fragrances, but it definitely won’t appeal to everyone.

I’m a huge fan of cherry scents and have tried them all. This was a blind buy based on reviews, and is now the 8th cherry in my collection. Did I need this? ... not really. "Moonlight Cherry | Van Cleef & Arpels" is a very nice, light, boozy cherry and almond scent. Compared to others I have, it isn’t anything special or unique. It smells like lots of other cherry scents available, as the many comparisons show. I can’t really say it’s identical to any one cherry, but it’s closest to "Bodacious | Boadicea the Victorious" in my opinion. It’s certainly not the best out there, but longest lasting maybe. "Cherry on Top | Perestish Parfums" remains my all time favourite. I don’t regret burying this though, and will still very much enjoy wearing it. Unsure if I’d repurchase it, based on the others I own, but it may grow to become a favourite down the line. It certainly deserves a score of at least 8/10

Nice, slightly tart, and mildly refreshing cherry, enhanced by pleasant, moderate alcoholic vapors. Coffee might be imagined if you really stretch your imagination, but it’s not actually detectable. Instead, there’s more of a bitter chocolate aroma—like a dark chocolate candy with a cherry-alcohol filling. Definitely unisex, though it will likely develop deeper and more intriguing nuances on warm male skin. I think cherry fragrance lovers will enjoy it, but it doesn’t bring anything particularly unexpected. I had hoped for a deeper, more complex, and thought-provoking cherry, in line with the black collection’s signature style, but instead, it turned out to be more lighthearted and effortless. That said, it doesn’t take away from its beauty and elegance.

Cherry with almond, rum and coffee is a fantastic combination.

I really love cherry fragrances, but to me it hints at TF Lost cherry, which in my opinion both are very chemical fake candy like cherry scent, or car freshener. The best fragrance for cherry scent is La Petite Robe Noire by Guerlain...pure real cherry compote/jam.

Meh, what ever honestly. I'd regret buying it, but I wanted to own a cherry fragrance, and this one seemed to be hot, but it really wasn't. Nothing special here; 80% cherry, 10% sweet & 10% almond. All that gets you that cherry syrup really if you think about it.

Tried it today.. Well blended, but a bit boring & redundant tbh. The longevity - average. Reminded me of TF Lost Cherry... I will stick to my Van Cleef & Arpels Orchid Leather & Bois Dore. Looking forward to their next release...

Might leave you a bit confused if you're expecting the syrupy, bold cherry note that many associate with the word "cherry" in a perfume. Despite the name, it doesn't evoke the deep, intoxicating sweetness of cherries as we typically know them—those almost medicinal, cloying cherries that linger like a sticky, overripe fruit. Instead, what you get here is something much lighter and airier: cherry blossom. The cherry note is delicate and soft, more akin to the gentle floral nature of the blossom itself rather than the rich, dark fruit that so often dominates cherry-inspired fragrances. It's a sweet scent, but it's not the heavy, overwhelming sweetness that some might dread. Instead, it’s more of a subtle, refined sweetness that remains fresh and clean. Comparing it to other cherry-based fragrances like Tom Ford Lost Cherry or Cherry Smoke, Moonlight Cherry is worlds apart. There’s no opulent, boozy depth here, no dark sensuality or leather-like intensity. The cherry doesn't turn smoky or leathery; it doesn’t play with that complex duality that makes Lost Cherry so compelling. It's all about the softness of cherry blossom, which, in the context of this perfume, feels more serene than seductive. However, one of the biggest disappointments for me is the longevity. Within an hour, the projection fades away to nearly nothing, leaving the scent barely detectable. The sillage is weak, and it doesn't have the lasting presence that you might expect from a fragrance in this price range. The village, as they say, is poor—it’s simply not a fragrance that will make a strong impression or last throughout the day. In conclusion, Moonlight Cherry is a pleasant enough fragrance, but for those expecting a bold cherry note or an intense, long-lasting experience, it might fall flat. The cherry blossom is lovely, but it's too subtle and fleeting to justify the price in my opinion. It’s an easy, breezy scent, but not one that demands attention or worth the investment for someone seeking more depth or staying power.

This smelled like cough medicine to me...

I have mixed feelings about this one. It’s a very strong, in-your-face kind of fragrance, and I find it hard to wear unless I apply it very lightly—usually just one spray into the air and walk through it. The cherry note is quite dark and sour, more like a dry, slightly tart cherry rather than anything fresh or juicy. Because of its intensity, it feels much more suited for evenings or special occasions. I think I’d get tired of it quickly if I wore it too often. Interestingly, I actually prefer how it smells on my clothes the next day—it softens beautifully and becomes much more enjoyable compared to the initial spray.

A sweet, dark cherry. Reminiscent of Hypnotic Poison, without the headache inducing caramel scent. To put it simply: this is a dark cherry that's lingering in your rum cocktail. Sexy, glamourous, not too complex yet interesting enough to be an interesting signature party scent. There are definitely more unique fragrances out there, but this is pretty. Sillage and longevity aren't very good in my opinion, after 2 hours I couldn't smell it on my wrist...

Not groundbreaking, but really good execution on a popular style. I love bodacious. This is less transparent and more potent. Less finesse, but performance is very good and should be able to get this from discounters for a steal. I think a job well done if you are looking for a cherry frag.

I smelled it at the store and fell IN LOVE with this one, it’s so sweet and so sexy. Smells like boozy cherries with hints of coffee and almonds on a soft creamy vanilla base. Like a delicious cherry dessert. Piece of art, if you like cherries you’ll probably fall in love with this one.

Update: Sold Blind bought this one for valentine's 2026 as I expected some more depth and woodsiness, but it feels just like Tom Ford Lost cherry on me. I have a full bottle for sale or exchange. Located in London, UK. Feel free to private message me.

Exactly the same as Cherry Smoothie by Zara, but less cinnamic, and more luxurious from a more ambery nuance.

As a fan of Van Cleef & Arpels fragrances, maybe this will finally be the cherry fragrance that suits me!
