Strictly for Men

I dont want to be 'that guy' but I love it. This is my dad's signature scent and as a kid I remember spraying some of my dad's bottle on me and loving the smell. When I was older and I borrowed his car, I could smell this on my hands because my dad rubbed this fragrance on his face and thus transferring it to the steering wheel. Whenever I smell this, I think of my dad. It's a verry masculine and confident smell. It's a love or hate kinda smell, you either hate it because it offends your nose, or you love it for the experience to smell such a wonderfull smell and appreciate this for what it is. Not that much out there that is like this. And especially the older bottles where straight up beast mode in longevity and projection. It is a shame it is difficult to get in other countries, cause you are missing out if you haven't smelled this. I will always keep a bottle in my collection and a spare or 2 in a safe place so I never run out. I will keep using this as a time machine, whenever I smell this I think of my dad and all the good times we had. This is why all you dad's out there need a signature scent, it's invaluable!

Outstanding. Antaeus Chanel, yet more subtile, quite better. Serious composition of spices, that are perfectly matched and joined, and centered inside something floraly-fruity, and all positioned on perfect base combination. Top, middle and base notes are bonded astonishingly - absolutely without any noticeable transitions. Longevity and silage will not let you down. Liquid with STRICT character. Manly, upper class barber shop craft. Distinct dark, without anything bright in it. It somehow reminds me on a black bird, maybe black swan. I like to wear it in the Court. Too serious for a casual use... but again it depends.. This is an scent of an business lider. Outstanding.

Not only do I agree with guest_Jack, I would add the it is the sexiest, most masculine scent I have ever come across and I have tried many. I have been using it for 20 years. Now I am having trouble finding it and would welcome any suggestions on how to find it.

A good masculine scent for when you are on a budget. I like it. I bought a full bottle blind buy. Though I wish they eliminated the citrus/thyme and put in Tobacco, Incense and Black Pepper. Just to give it a nice boost. The dry down is excellent. One issue . There are two versions. Strictly for Men and and Van Gils for men. Strictly for Men is offered in 30ml bottles but in the Netherlands which is also in 100ml bottles too. On ebay I could not find a 100ml Strictly for Men only For Men.. They do differ in notes slightly.. Strictly for Men is going to be the better one given the notes. Do be careful in which you pick..

Strictly for Men is a potent male fragrance that send you back to a night in town at the 90's But i compared that with Milton Lloyd Silver for Men, and found out they are very similar. Strictly for Men is a bit lesser 'soapy' and a bit lesser 'beasty' than Silver for Men. If you can't find Van Gils Strictly for Men then try search for Milton Lloyd Silver for Men - I found it at Sirology.co.uk that send fragrances overseas. I found Strictly for Men on a Danish webstore called coolshop.dk that dosen't send overseas.

Fresh and clean without being a freshie. More like fresh/soapy herbs with a cozy base. This is the upper class barber shop - the scent of a gentleman. Very masculine. A no nonsense scent similar to Classic by Lagerfeld. I get the same vibe from this. If you’re a man you will like it, if you’re a boy probably not. It feels old school, but not necessary dated. As a girl I must confess that I really like it. Seems like an old classic.

Very, very masculine, in the style of Quorum. A little more flowery and woody, very long lasting. Like it. Edit: It has really grown on my, very very good. Edit: I was to pick up a new bottle, good for me I tested it first. It was not the same, much weaker and not the same smell. I did not buy.

Very potent, very masculine, might be overpowering when indulged in impulsively, night scent. Got lucky with this juice at Amsterdam Airport. I love Amsterdam. I love Holland :)

I almost never write reviews here but this was so bad I had to pitch in, got a sample and I swear I thought I recieved an old sample from the 90s that has gotten old and stale. It really smells as if you found an old moving box from the 80/90s and found an half used after shave in there. Some surely will like it, but let's say I'm just glad so much has happened since those days. Classic after shave, with too much going on with heavy elements, a little freshness that just can't save it. Demographics: Oriental man in his 60s that forgot to shave in the morning.

I don't know what it is, but there's something about this fragrance that I absolutely HATE. I haven't smelled any other fragrances where I genuinely do not like the smell of except this one. However, the longevity is decent and the projection is alright although I would put it on the weaker side of things. For a cheapie it's okay I guess, if you enjoy the smell that is.

I smelled this a couple of hours ago. And I’m sorry but this is absolutely terrible. It smells like poop and pee mixed dish soap, it is genuinely the only fragrance where I actually dislike the scent. If u were to threaten me with wearing this I would be afraid.

Van Gils Classic vs Van Gils Strictly Strictly is inferior, less flamboyant and aromatic - BUT - and this is a BIG THING - it ́s closely related. There are times when an impression presents itself that you are wearing an odd batch of VG Classic. And this DNA must never be allowed to die. It is a unique gem in masculine perfumery, especially in Northern European climate.

Takes you back to the 80s and 90s, very masculine scent, it’s like a Time Machine when I smell this, last forever. I already have a bottle and will keep it as long as possible. It’s a real powerhouse scent. Sophisticated, sensual and totally manly. Imagine Cuban cigars and expensive leather interior for Mercedes Benz.

Wow!! I think this one is a hidden gem if you love your old time classics this one is for you....first blast you get some Puig Quorum and maybe a little hint of Estee Lauders, Lauder for men and later one it really transform into a YSL Kouros scent profile, excellent. The only bummer..... it is hard to find.

Smells lovely, manly and strong. I was worried about sillage and longevity since so many good powerhouse fragrances has been watered down and ruined but this one has not been tampered with. 4 hours later and it performs like a beast wow! Reminds me of Kouros which is a good thing!

A true "powerhouse" fragrance from the 80-ies.Not for the young crowd, but very elegant and classy on a mature distinctive gentleman. In my country, still widely available, but maby a bit "dated" for the modern customer. Recommended!
