Délices des Bois

For the average middle class person, there is nothing exceptional enough about this to justify its price. However I do have to admit that it’s my new favorite woody fig, even though I wouldn’t buy a FB anywhere near market price. It’s a lovely creamy fig, not syrupy or green. Starts very cocunutty but turns creamy. The woods are very present but not that distinct sandalwood you get in so many that have a “room smell” vibe instead of a smell for a person, nor the distinct cedar that specifically Leans masculine. I’m not sure how to describe the woody notes besides what they aren’t. I guess that’s the dreamwood? The florals give this a major boost in beauty that other fig scents lack, and the lemon is ultra subtle but just gives it a little more dimension. Very signature - worthy if it weren’t so expensive. I don’t think it would be weird on a man but I think of it as a women’s scent.

It’s hard to resist the urge to spray this on everything... I genuinely want my entire environment to smell like Delices de Bois. This feels like the brand’s magnum opus; anyone with an interest in this house needs to sample this at least once. The blend is seamless. No single note dominates; instead, everything melts together into a clean, luminous, distinctly feminine composition. The green, juicy fig softens and brightens the sandalwood beautifully, removing any trace of dry, sour, or woody edges. If I were ever to design a haircare line, this would be the scent as it is effortless and universally appealing. The only downside is performance, but the brand is upfront about their EDPs living in that 4–6 hour range. Honestly, it’s so beautiful that it justifies buying/making a travel spray for reapplication without hesitation.

Ok, so creamy fig can sometimes go heavy or overly sharp on my skin, so I approached this one with caution — but it actually never tips in that direction. Instead, it opens smooth and softly sweet, with a gently milky fig wrapped in polished woods. As it develops, it stays balanced and structurally supported rather than becoming dense or bitter. The sweetness remains controlled, the woods keep it composed, and nothing overwhelms. It doesn’t dramatically evolve — it simply settles into a refined, quietly elegant warmth. On me it wears beautifully and then gradually softens away. In summary, this is a chic, well-behaved fig wood that stays graceful from start to finish. I love it!

This is so lovely but why doesnt it stay for more than hour ? I love love love this slightly sweet creamy wood fragrance with expensive ingredients that become smoother and clean smelling in the drydown. I keep smelling my wrist and wish it would stay longer. Has strong resemblance to Flagrant Delice (but Delices des Bois is better) but Flagrant does not stay long either. I feel like I have to spray Delices des Bois 10 ml all over my body just to make the scent stay! Sadly, i dont have much time in the mornings before I go to work. Veronique, do something to make it stay longer !

i kept on getting hints of it throughout the day and i love how warm and inoffensively musky it lays on the skin on its drydown. this fragrance is not too heady, grounded by a the fig-dulled sharpness of lemon. it's wonderfully balanced, and the woody base notes work well for me. it smells very calming, not too heady and headache inducing like some sandalwood and white floral scents. a true fig lover loves all parts of the fig, and this one is distinctly warm and creamy, moving away from its typically green-ness. absolutely gorgeous fragrance.

I ADORE this perfume!!! I originally got it for free as a sample, walked out of the store, tried it on, and walked right back in to buy a travel size of this it is that good. It's honestly unlike any other perfume that I have smelt and I have never worn this without getting compliments. It's super unique and I feel like this would be a great everyday/signature scent anad it works for all seasons and day and night. I sprayed this about an hour ago and I can't stop smelling my arm. It is literally perfect.

I wrote a review 10 months ago and now I can say this is definitely worth the money for me. As BNikki said below: so perfectly balanced and also not overly sweet. Like I mentioned before: a perfect mix of citrus, fig and woods. I almost finished my full bottle but I will definitely repurchase it. And although I think it doesn’t project that much, others smell it on me within an armslength. Get so many compliments on this.

Tested recently. Such a beautiful soft and calming scent. Tried a lot of fig perfumes lately but this is the best in my opinion. Perfect mix of lemon, fig and woods. But unfortunately I won’t buy it, it’s way to expensive for me. Edit: after falling in love with it after getting a second sample, my husband bought me a full bottle as a gift. Love love love!

Got a full bottle in Madrid. Was looking for a perfumes with nice fig notes and this hit the spot perfectly. It's clean a bit sweet with very nice natural notes, unisex with strong lean to feminine. Not a loud perfume, does project around one meter holds on skin for half a day on clothes more than a day. A bit pricey but very high quality perfume.

I love woody white florals, the citrus becomes more prominent in a couple minutes. Then more sweet and powdery after a few more minutes, starts to lean a little more feminine. Nice, clean easy to ware. The brand has some very nice scents. Definitely do a discovery set. You’ll find several winners

This smells absolutely DELICIOUS - like one of those sweet French desserts that make your mouth water. I feel so sexy whenever I wear this perfume, and hopefully, anyone who catches a whiff is tempted to savor me. Lol. Also, it’s a unisex scent, which is a definite plus.

This is an amazing juicy fig with citrus undertones and beautiful blend of wood and musk in the base. It is flirty like Tasherapd said, a little mysterious but very welcoming. A perfect fig scent for Spring into Summer. Such a dreamy woody green, I need a full bottle.

This has to be one of the most delicious non gourmand scents that I've ever tried. It's just absolutely beautiful. The longevity is terrrrribbblle but I don't care. It's such an exemplary composition for me that I must get a full bottle of it!

Best discovery of the year so far! Such a beauty. Soft, creamy and feminine. Smells like a luxurious summer holiday. I’m not usually into fig fragrances

This is so, so, pretty, yet also so sophisticated. It opens with a burst of light, green, lemony citrus, then a plummy fig emerges. I usually dislike sweet notes, but in this the sweetness of the fig is so perfectly balanced with subtle citrus and pretty jasmine that I can’t help but love it. Soft woods support the composition. I think this would be perfect in the transitional seasons of spring and fall, but could easily worn any time of the year, day or night. Signature scent worthy.

Great scent, great composition, one of the weakest ones I’ve ever tried. It just flies away in an hour. Even if you sniff your skin/clothes from up close. Not even a skin scent. Disappointing especially for a 280$ bottle.

Simply put: this is delicious. And far from simple, it is interesting and complex, sweet but not gourmand or cloying. Just the right amount of greenness to keep some tension but not go sharp. It is incredible on my skin. This house does natural-smelling fragrances so very well. I’ve been thrilled with everything I’ve tried, especially this one and Vert Desir. I can see why the earlier commenter compared it to Chloe Nomade Naturelle. It is quite different but they would layer well of one wanted to increase performance or sweeten Delices. Performance is just fine for me - it’s quiet and close-wearing as this fragrance is intended, but lasts a moderate amount of time. Thrilled with this one!

I'm fascinated by the reviews and it's made me realize how much perfume notes influence what you smell. I smelled Delices des Bois blindly without looking up the notes and I found it very white floral dominant. I would have never guessed fig was a note but it was beautifully creamy and soft. I compared it to an elevated, more modern J'adore-Dior. Crazy to see fragrances like In This World, Fig Infusion and Guaiac 10 in the similar fragrances because it smells nothing like those to me. It is a beautiful, gorgeous fragrance because I typically do not like white florals but I am obsessed with this one.

Dont ask me how because they have hardly any notes in common but the second I sprayed this I thought “this reminds me of something! But what?”. It took me a minute but then the penny dropped: nomade naturelle. VG is much (much) less sweet. Definitely more refined. Also much lighter wearing and fleeting. I very much enjoy this and will take my sample on my next vacation to decide whether it goes on the full bottle want list! (Not that it’s always a deal breaker but performance could potentially be very poor).

This would be perfect if there wasn’t something in the background in the opening that makes it smell a bit old school and public toilets like. Unfortunately it never disappears and it ruins the fragrance for me.
