Blonde

This fragrance is unbelievably gorgeous! I have never in my life had a fragrance like this before. Blew me away. Opens with warm sunshine and stays warm through the whole life of the scent. I don't detect bergamot orange but rather a kind of dark honey and orange blossom. This perfume is linear and not very complex but you do have to really 'listen' with your nose to find it's special qualities. The florals that stand out in this one is the tuberose, gardenia and violet. Sweet, some would say 'much too sweet' tuberose. The tuberose and gardenia pairing are creamy and very rich. The texture is oily like some kind of luxurious exotic body oil. Carnation is really presenting herself too. An ylang ylang flower too. Mainly a tuberose scent. If you are super into tuberose, this one is enchanting. I can't get over this. The perfume fills your head and penetrates you in a good way. The creamy florals are warmed up with incense (benzoin note) and stays so close to the skin so that the smoky white florals don't offend anyone around you. It's an intimate perfume despite being strong and long lasting (all day kind of long lasting). A lover or special someone will have to be real close to you to detect the perfume on you. Rich and smoky. This is so womanly and grown up. This makes me imagine an amazing sunset in Miami Beach. It's a fragrance that was meant to honor Mr. Versace and his mansion in Miami and the blonde in the name of the scent is actually Donatella Versace. So as you can guess this is a classy but 'naughty' kind of a perfume for the woman has everything. She drives luxury sport cars, lives in a mansion, has connections, and the atmosphere of the fragrance is South Florida's big money scene - Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach. Beautiful tan women. Handsome tan men. The dry down is musk and civet. I'm sure it's not real civet but the dirty in a good way kind of musk is what you get at the end. A deep warm skin musk. It turns into an animalic fragrance but it stays sweet and warm and never too dirty for a musk scent. It's a floral musk of high quality. This perfume smells best on the skin and not clothes. It's too oily for clothes. This is best worn in fall and winter to warm up your skin. This is meant to be worn with more clothes on than less. Matches with furs (faux fur) coats and more of a Colorado wealthy socialite than a Florida one. Also due to the smokiness gives the impression of a strong confident woman who knows what she wants and usually gets it, smokes cigarettes with a holder is elegant but fierce. i.e. Alexis on Dynasty 1980s version with Joan Collins not the new reboot series. This is a bold and independent woman's perfume. She answers to no one! This fragrance is changing my life!!! Everyone is respecting me more now that I wear it!!!!! You gotta try this one. It's unforgettable!!

This smells very similar to Fracas de Robert Piguet to me. This perfume though is less bubblegummy than Fracas and it has more of a slightly spicy and animalic feeling to it. There is also a dash more camphor in here too. Blonde by Versace lasts quite a long time on the skin at just over 7 hours on my skin, but I think that Fracas lasts maybe 2 or 3 hours more on my skin. The sillage of this perfume definitely projects at about 6 feet, but I feel that Fracas projects slightly more than Versace Blonde. The neroli and then the bergamot give it a touch of bitterness. This perfume starts with the gardenia and Violet notes, giving me that lovely creamy and mushroomy feeling that gardenia gives and the powderiness and muskiness that violet gives too. The pitosporum note is the strongest here though and gives more of that slightly spicy white floral feeling at the top notes. It's not as sweet as Fracas, since it doesn't have that orange blossom note or peach note that you smell in Fracas. It's less fruity than Fracas for sure. It's all about the heart notes mainly though in Versace Blonde, which to my nose are mainly the slightly camphorous and slightly grapey and indolic tuberose first and foremost and a good dose of buttery and tropical ylang ylang. I then get some of that spice from the carnation and then short wafts of a slightly smoky smell from the narcissus. This is definitely all about the tuberose though and it smells very natural smelling to me here, more than Fracas does. It has some of that camphor that Carnal Flower has from Frédéric Malle, but dialed down and not as intense, mothbally or green thankfully. It's more the sort of camphor and spice you'd find in an actual tuberose flower naturally. Lastly, I smell a good amount of all of the ingredients at the base, those being civet, benzoin and musk. It's a very animalic, sweet and musky base that smells like raw sex and is quite delightful and raunchy smelling to my nose. I could imagine this being a very appropriate perfume for a woman at any nighttime event you go to and a woman being able to wear it all year round. It smells very sexy, bad ass and rebellious but also fashionable, elegant and chic in a non-traditional sort of way. This is a tuberose perfume for the inner blonde rock and roll bad ass chick in all of us! I also find the perfume bottle beautiful with its etched in Medusa face and the pretty crystal bottle cap with the Greek keys. I highly reccomend it to all tuberose lovers and I think it's just different enough from Fracas to warrant a purchase, since it's the slightly skankier and more rebellious version of the more prim and proper Fracas. 8 1⁄2 out of 10 for me.

Oh, how I love this. Who would have thought I would fall in love with a buttery tuberose, but here I am, someone who hates buttery florals, head over heels for this. Maybe it's a psychological thing, but buttery florals almost smell oily to me, as if I'm smelling a tub of butter. It kind of creeps me out. But that's not happening here. I'm perplexed by some of the negative adjectives I've read over the years used to describe this fragrance. Raunchy, trashy, dirty, skanky? It's what put me off to even trying this perfume in the first place. I don't think it's trashy (not that I don't appreciate a little raunchiness in fragrances at times), or dirty, or even necessarily loud. I think it is just perfect, somewhat big, but not extroverted, like Madonna or Fracas are to me. There's also a softness here which is a nice contrast to the voluptuous, full-bodied tuberose, and a touch of sexy from a dash of civet. And while tuberose is the most prominent note, it is not the only one. There's a fruity ylang; a lovely daffodil that's ever so slightly dirty to shake things up, (maybe that's the skank some are referring to?); a sultry jasmine; a spicy carnation; and a sweet, creamy gardenia, among other notes. But the tuberose is the star, shinning like the sun, and just like the sun in our solar system, all the other notes revolve around her. And what a tuberose it is. Big, buxom, sexy, and golden as if the flowers were sprinkled with gold dust. Blonde, yes, she's a golden blonde, but not a brassy one. Believe me, I have nothing against Donatella, but she doesn't spring to mind when wearing this fragrance - Marilyn Monroe does. Yep, this is Marilyn in a bottle! Voluptuous and soft at the same time - just like Marilyn! I'm so delighted with this fragrance that I now own an edt and an extrait. But the way I have been dabbing and spraying away tells me I am going to need replacements soon. Which will become harder and more expensive to do, now that it is discontinued. “Shame, Shame, Shame!" We should be screaming at the person who made that crazy decision.

Dear Reader's ♥ I will forever mourn and have fond memories of my former lush and provocative signature night perfume by Gianni Versace that I owned and loved from my adolescence to early 20's. Long ago in the mid 90's, when I was just sweet 15 yr old youth looking for a night perfume. I found out about this perfume and the ancient Greco -Roman elegant glass bottle had touch of lalique glass style enchanted me with its carved faced within the bottle because it was none other face but of the cursed gorgon Medusa, that left hypnotized . Luckily for me ,my mother bought it for me that day as an early birthday gift when we went to the department store♥. The magic started when I started to use this scandalous elixir , the perfume and my chemistry created the marvelous alchemical marriage and a force to behold and be adored. my chemistry brought out a warm, juicy , jovial and wild flowers out that enchanted the senses and the sillage was intense And now seeing it had musk, this explains why it made men's appetites wet and made me into a total man-trap. The memories of my past admirers, situations that brought intrigues, scandalous encounters in the realm of love, all created by this perfume, it brings giggles and smiles when I reflect back.♥ The horror came of the end of beauty and splendor came when Donatella pulled out the Versace jean's line, the cosmetics which the casings were fabulous and last out of all the perfumes her brother made, she beheaded the one perfume that was dedicated which was Blonde. And with that action she did, left us Blond devotees out in the cold and in mourning for years .R.I.P the original founder Gianni Versace for creating a beautifully lush ,modern and provocative perfume like Blonde that was cut to short- much like its creator. ♥

This is a difficult perfume to review. I am reviewing the parfum version. At first I thought, wow, pure gardenia! Today I compared my blooming gardenias with Blonde, and no, it is a heady combo of tuberose/gardenia. I suppose if it had the subtle green notes of real gardenias it would be worth its weight in gold. I've never smelled any gardenia based perfume that came close in subtlety to the real thing. That being said, it is very nice and does have some subtlety to go with cloying tuberose. This is almost the antithesis of modern perfumes, the edps of which are so watered down it's shameful. It is full bodied, cloying without any synthetic notes, but also just complex enough to keep it from being cheap. It doesn't have enough sillage to be offensive; but it definitely has some sillage. It isn't for the faint of heart. It isn't for everyday. It is a flowery sexpot perfume, probably the civet enhancing it. Any lady wearing this is absolutely screaming, "notice me!" in a positive context. On me the perfume lasts a good six hours, which is excellent. There is still fragrance there after six hours, but by then it is a skin scent. It is nice without knocking people down across the room, as compared to Norell, for instance.. All in all, for the brave few who still love real perfumes, this is great. Cloying and sophisticated at the same time. I got a great deal from one of the internet perfume monster outlets even though it has been discontinued. I suspect .5 oz parfum will last a long time, and the bottle is lovely. Blonde is (was) a knockout tuberose. As if Donatella took Fracas and glamorized it; a bit of blush here, a bit of shadow there...Fracas dressed for a party, 50 years later. So where do you go when you come from the 40's and you suddenly time travel to the 90's? My bet? A private party. Leaving aside the obvious, Blonde is a massive buttery tuberose, far more buttery than any other, to the point of turning nutty. Rich, full on cream with a side of gardenia, ylang ylang and pitosporum, a tiny white flower with huge scent. But how do you balance such headyness? Throw in some spicy carnation, a dollop of civet, a hint of narcissus and you have Versace Blonde; better than what Fracas was in the late 80's/early 90's. Massive sillage, day long longevity and a joyous laugh; after all you were modeled after the Queen but just in a different era. Younger, naughtier, sexier, Blonde throws its narcotic spell without a worry in the world. Sensual, decadent, narcotic, this tuberose is not for the faint of heart. It takes some appreciation to enjoy and discover the glamour behind. But like most good things, Fracas was suddenly resurrected and brought back in a good as ever shape. And Blonde had to leave. I guess there wasn't room enough for two. Highly sought and still around if you search hard enough, Blonde is one of the better Versace's, and the one I enjoy the most. If you love tuberose and white florals try and give Blonde a try; decadent and glamorous, narcotic and sexy, it wouldn't disappoint Germaine Cellier had she been alive.

Who on earth decided to discontinue this, it’s a beauty. Snagged a vintage on eBay for a silly price as there was a spelling mistake in the listing. It is incredible. Think I prefer it to my faves, Fracas and Truth or Dare. Definitely similar to both of those but perhaps a little greener in the opening. Only just sprayed it on as it’s just arrived in the Mail so not sure about longevity yet, although sadly most tuberose perfumes don’t last or project as much as I would like on me. Why oh why did I have to love this one?! 😫 I love bubblegum-esque interpretations of tuberose and this is very much in that camp. If you are keen to know what this smells like and can’t get a bottle, that curiosity can be satisfied with Fracas, which is a bit “lusher” but similar enough. The bottle is a work of art, this is the embodiment of the 90s Versace we all knew and loved. I feel like George Michael’s Too Funky should be playing loud when I wear this fragrance! I reckon if they released this at a more niche price point alike the more expensive Diors and Chanels there might be a market for it. With the exception of Crystal Noir, Eros and their mens fragrance line, Versace’s perfumery these days is a bit of a travesty, they churn out the same old bland, shampoo-smelling stuff a few times a year. They are such a fabulous larger than life brand that has the potential to produce some truly beautiful perfumes like this one and Crystal Noir.

Add me to the list of people that mourn the loss of this one of a kind fragrance. I do not normally find flamboyant fragrances alluring but this was definitely an exception. The bottle, is and was GORGEOUS. I loved how you could place it on a mantle and walk past it and it looked like the face was always following you (much like some statues in the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland). The intense hit of gardenia and other strong heady florals swept you away like a sort of Pied Piper. Male...female...didn't matter...EVERYONE shall stop for a moment to take notice! Its one of those fragrances that is demanding but beautiful, intriguing but unmistakably floral, a bit mature but still wild at heart, it was the scent of a bon vivant, and its sillage was much like a radiant heat similar to the sun but just like the sun, it had this air of unattainability. No wonder my brother likes it (and even wore it LOL) -sighs- Needless to say, I am saddened to see this fragrance go off the shelves, I have no idea WHY Donatella would allow such a thing (this WAS a tribute to her, afterall) especially since taking over the Versace legacy. Well as they say...in life, all good things must come to an end. It is unfortunate that future generations shall be missing out on this luxurious perfume.

What's in a name? This name might suggest a hair color, but please... how many truly natural blondes out there? I despise people who link intelligence to hair color as it's a factor of very low intelligence in itself. I'm dye my hair golden blond (dark colors just won't go with my facial features) and endure back stabbing comments about being "stupid" hair-wise. Why? I have a very simple rule: I do and I wear what I like. So why should you "resist it"? And this line is really laughable: "created for blond Donatella". Maybe they meant blonde as a state of mind. Whatever stereotypes are supposed to mean. I think it failed due to bad marketing and moronic name, as most brunettes (about 80% of women on the planet) are really proud to be brunettes, which is another myth born out of myth that blonds are morons. Please note, this rant is a fruit of my third glass of wine.. Now, the perfume. The fragrance itself is pure indulgence in a bottle - a thick and heady tuberose in many ways reminiscent of Fracas, however this one features a strong earthy violet note. I can totally see myself as a sultry brunette, a vivacious redhead or sunkissed blonde on a hot summer night while wearing it, rocking the sweet and spicy earthy notes. Terrific!

This treasure is my most persistent fragrant love. I always have a bottle of the edt AND a pure perfume in my perfume cupboard. As I love to shower myself in many sprays from a big edt bottle, I also usually layer it with pure perfume to enhance its longevity and to get more of the broader floral qualities that comes with the perfume. It was my signature for many years during the 90's and for me Blonde is all about youth, student life, summer and big emotions. It is cycling to the sea with friends in the morning to get tanned, and then going out in the warm summer evenings. Evenings with a lukewarm wind that caresses your bare arms and that pink sky that follows after a hot day. Blonde is walking between bars and restaurants when there is still sunset at 10 in the Scandinavian countries. It is clubbing all night and when leaving the club at 4, it is almost daylight and the birds are singing their morning song. Blonde is long blonde hair, a little black dress and bare tanned legs. It is student life, constant lack of money and abundant dreams about the future. Blonde is dating somebody over a Cafe au Lait as all this happened before the Italian Latte was introduced in Sweden. And at that time, Blonde was always in my purse.

I already left some thoughts (below) on Versace’s Blonde a few years back, but I’m compelled to revisit this magnificent scent again. I previously likened Blonde to a tuberose that’s been in and out of rehab, a ciggie perched between her lips. But as I’ve worn it more, I don’t think Blonde just has substance-use issues. She’s a sex-crazed nymphomaniac too! Oh, the comorbidity! So many grand tuberoses have been created over the years, but this is the first that’s screamed “SLUT FLORAL!” to my nose. Seriously, this is tuberose with a little gardenia, and everything is smothered in stank—a good thing! Imagine a hothouse greenery, and in Toy Story style, the plants become animate when their caretakers are away. After a long day photosynthesizing in the sun, these flora need some release. Look o’er yonder, where the term “flowerbed” is being redefined. Stamens positively gush with pollen; the pistils, swollen, insatiably beg for more! “Chlorophyll” used to be their safe word, but anything goes in tonight’s bacchanal. A perverted civet runs amok, saturating their soil with its juices. Oh my! So, yeah. Blonde is gorgeously slutty. Is that a trowel in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

I love Blonde. I bought it in the 90's. It was quite unknown at that time here in Sweden which for me was a good thing. As my signature scent I wanted to have it completely for myself and I used it everyday for years. Then suddenly it disappeared from the Swedish market. I used it sparingly and eventualy I only had the empty bottle in my cupboard, which I treasured for years. I loved that smell of sweet bergamot opening, the buttery tuberose and the little civet to enchance it's personality. I loved the warm honeylike notes it developed into, and all the compliments I got for smelling so good. And I sprayed my empty bottle, and sometimes i got a tiny tiny drop of fragrance out of it. It took me about five years until I found Blonde again. It was when the internet market was fairly developed, and perfumes became available on internet shops abroad. After a long time searching I finally found it and I instantly ordered a pure perfume, without considering the cost. It was just so worth it whatever it would cost me. Since then I have stocked both perfume and EdT. Today I have many perfumes and I don't use Blonde as often, but it is my alltime favourite that I always return to.

I didn’t like this when it was first issued. I had to grow into tuberose and into Blonde over time. Its not a young girl fragrance. I have three second hand vintage bottles. The blue oval shape edt is the best of the bunch - it is simply a delicious heady tuberose civet with a bit of benzoin and just enough other notes (carnation etc) to keep it interesting blended in, from times when perfumes were not linear but still blended properly. Had I not received the oval bottle, which seems to have kept the original scent the best, I would not have appreciated Blonde as much as I do now. It is a delicious and sexy tuberose with a hint of cognac, thats it, the undercurrent is not spice its cognac. It is hard to showcase the best facets of tuberose but Blonde really succeeds in this, the other notes really supporting the centre of the show and the civet, which I am a big fan of, bringing its own rawness in the picture. Blonde is kind of like a well dressed woman who is in a deliberately sexy dress but yet she would be equally as sexy even if she were wearing dungarees in the back garden - except she never would, oh no. She would dress up even for gardening.

As I'm a Blonde lover I couldn't resist buying the Eau de Fleurie version when I got my hands on it. I had no expectations except from Blonde itself, but I read in one review that said it smelt like kind of a bubbelgum tuberose, and in another that it was "champagne-like". And yes, it is lighter and a little powdery with an airy sweetness. You will have to imagine Blonde original minus the civet and the earthy violet (or at least significantly less of both notes), then add sweet and slightly powdery notes. Eau de Fleurie translates into "flower water" which obviously means something less strong than the original edt. I like it a lot except from it's staying power: after a couple of hours it's gone. It also lacks certain character as it doesn't dry down as honeyed as the original. I would say that Blonde eau de Fleurie is lighter, more girlie and smooth smelling in comparision to it's older sister. I wear it as a light summer fragrance on warm days, and I enjoy it. But I enjoy original Blonde a lot more.

In my opinion, Blonde doesn't quite smell like Fracas, nor Truth or Dare. I dismissed it for so long because of those two comparisons since i have both Fracas and ToD, and because of some negative reviews. Last week, i scored 1oz blue oval bottle for 20 bucks, and after couple of wearings i can say this is probably the best tuberose perfume i own (tuberose junkie here). I can not for the life of me wear Fracas. I have a bottle, and i will occasionally smell the cap, but in my opinion, there is not one appropriate place or situation where wearing Fracas would be acceptable in 2021, aside from a crazy evening with a bunch of other perfume junkies who would "understand". Blonde, however, is quite pretty and quite acceptable, although i must say that dry down at its final stage is not my favorite part. It's a complete Cinderella fairy tale in a bottle: spray, go out, but make sure to leave before Blonde enters its final stage. I do love it though!

This is a very strong tuberose smell, but is smoother somehow than the other 2 tuberose masterpieces i know: Fracas by Piguet and Silver by Prairie. Blonde is equally wonderful and has an equally strong projection, thus being a must for women who like potent scents. Blonde, however, has a distinct sweet base, and evolves more on the skin, going through different phases as time goes by. Its other flowers ( gardenia, ylang, carnation, narcissus and violet )come in waves and will possibly show their colours differently on each of us. The sweet benzoin base is an extra compliment of the perfume. The whole, strangely, doesn't come out as floral as today's florals - this statement sounds weird but i don't know how else to express the feeling i get when smelling it! It's lasting power is average, i think of the 3, Silver lasts the longest, nearly 9 hours! Having civet is a loud minus, i hope people are starting to become aware of this....

Substantially similar to Fracas, which means it is very good. I do not really detect a civet note, even in Texas heat. It's frankly not as animalic as Fracas to me. What is animalic here is coming purely from the tuberose, which is gorgeous. It's creamier here than in Fracas, which is more buttery and even a bit smoky sometimes. It may be the ylang that is creating the sweet, creamy aspect. I think Fracas's base is more substantial, and I prefer it, but Blonde is a really lovely perfume. My bottle is a large EdT intaglio bottle. I'd say don't spend a fortune on this when you can get Fracas, even reformulated. But if you can catch it for a reasonable price, this is a great buy and the bottle is cool. It's funny to me that if the bottle just had the intaglio Medusa, it would be purely classy, but the Greek key frieze and irregular crystal top make it that wonderful vulgar Versace style. It's a shame this isn't still in production.

Having hunted high and low I finally got a 5ml EDT bottle on e-bay, hurrah.One of my longed-for perfume experiences has finally happened and I was not disappointed. It's top-loaded with the heavy decadent smell of succulent over-ripe jungle fruit, and the carnal sexiness of tuberose. But I kept finding a curious little-girl-lost sweet innocent powdery note in there. Even in EDT it's strong and clings to clothing. It would be great in passionate intimate boudoir moments. If Blonde were a woman, she would be a Piaf, or a Garland, a woman not beautiful but vibrant and exciting and endearing, child-like and vulnerable yet capable of wildchild abandoned sex and stormy relationships with rugged and unreliable lovers. What can I say? Versace Blonde satisfies my soul. It's all I would ever wish for in my favorite type of perfume, sumptuous big animalistic tuberose.

I thought this beautiful perfume was going to stay in the stores like forever...?? I bought my 1st bottle about 1998, the little blue flat beauty, l just had given birth to my youngest son, so, therefor this perfume is special for me! I have been hunting high and low for a new bottle, or looking for it's replacement, and now so suddenly, you should see my happy-dance, Tina Turners girls, Steamy Windows, because l got a new bottle! This perfume makes me feels young and beautiful again, and sexy and enegetic, and very Blonde! And, it blends so very well with my skin, it's the tuberose, gardenia and neroli, wow! And, thank you so very much to the Lady who sold me this new perfume, a full 3.3oz/100ml BIG mama bottle! May we all live happily for ever, and, happy Easter to all of you!!!

Warm flamboyant bombastic buttery tuberose ~gardenia scent. Its a powerhouse richer than fracas. I have vintage fracas parfum and this is damn close in blonde edt, but richer with the carnation and ylang. Vintage fracas was skanky too folks. I bought this in 95 and rocked it thru college. In a sea of fruity tresor madness this tuberose bomb was actually something different to stand alone without fruits in the mix. This was a volume turned up rich bitch floral in your face versace style. This is an italian house, with sexy as a requirement. The heart notes settle the big tuberose punch into something beautiful and seductive. This seems to have Giannis sensibilities rather than Donatellas. Its the one buttery tuberose floral to top them all. The extrait is gorgeous.

This was a fragrance find around the year 1996 when I was filled with optimism about starting my life anew after moving cross country to a new state, new place to begin to make new memories. This was a small purchase at the time, just a smaller bottle to commemorate the move that I had just made. I loved this, it wore extremely well on my skin and gave me a positive, upbeat vibe. Blonde, the color of my hair at the time... Reached by going to a top rated salon owner in Del Mar, who pulled my hair through a cap with a steel crochet hook -- taking pride in the torture he was making me endure - just to have one of the best shades of blonde in this part of Southern California. The new hair color with this perfume made me feel like a new woman. And I was!

I bought Blonde blind based purely on its notes, reviews, and reputation. We are currently in a hard and fast love affair which, I believe, will last a lifetime. Goes on with violety but watery gardenia a la Marc Jacobs, but immediately honeys down to buttery rich creamy tuberose heart. Thick comforting expensive smell, with something dirty down there in the base. Blonde is a bombshell voluptuous WOMAN in lingerie. Sexual. Provacative. Barely decent. I don't want to spend too much time dissecting its magic. Suffice to say that it suits my tastes perfectly. Heavy White Floral haters beware. P.S. My only wish were that this came in EDP as well as EDT. EDT only lasts 3-4 hours on me before losing thick creaminess. Next project, get the Parfum . . .

Love, love, love. I find Fracas really hard to wear (I do sniff my mini bottle from time to time); it's simply too glass-shatteringly soprano for me, and sadly triggers my migraines. I *do* love tuberose and gardenia, though. So Madonna's Truth or Dare (my other secret shame/love) works for me to experience its soft, creamy, tropical gardenia, while Blonde is a ball-breaking 80's-style tuberose monster like Dior Poison: velvety-purple, grape-y, with spicy carnation and wild animal, and all other excessive things that tag you as a tough customer (aka 'bitchy'). It's so flamboyant and outre, you definitely need to be a certain personality to wear this without the scent-phobic staring you down. The only problem is that it doesn't last long on me.

As I've started to focus on vintage fragrances a bit more, I got myself a small 30ml bottle of Blonde. These are my first impressions after testing it today. The opening is white flowers and quite green. I can definitely pick out the petitgrain and the bergamot, but there's a little sweetness too. As it dries, within 30 to 45 minutes, it's a powerful explosion of tuberose. Ylang-ylang gives it a buttery feeling, and the carnation adds a little spiciness. The drydown is still quite powerful; it's sweet, round, buttery, musky, with a tiny touch of an animalic note, but this is very light. I can actually imagine Donatella smelling like this. This is the perfect perfume to wear to dig out your inner kick-ass atomic blonde. Gorgeous 💛 ✨️ 😍 💛 ✨️

Youthful yet mature and womanly, this fragrance will always have the aura of a student-esque, carefree spirit for me. It was original, it had personality and last but not least the bottle was so lovely! A floral composition... a powdery tuberose... with a musky feeling. The whole of the composition and development were so powerful and provocative but alluring and sensually seductive at the same time with huge sillage and longevity that you couldn't pass by unnoticed. The luxurious, silky aspect of it evoked golden, warm feeling and a mysterious inscription to its vibrant, dazzling dimension. A skilfully made fragrance, rich, deep and intriguing, that managed to combine the excess and intensity with the graceful refinement.

A less capricious, more sunny natured and outdoorsy younger sister of Fracas. It is greener than the Big Sis, and more wearable in my opinion. It does have a slight bitterness in the base as mentioned by other reviewers, but I personally like my bitter undertone in perfume, especially if it is there to balance the unrestrained, boisterous nature of tuberose. Fracas is a capricious, pouting belle, always impeccably dressed, never less than perfect. Blonde sometimes doesn't mind to hop on her lover's Vespa in her silk pajama bottoms and his shirt, to pop down to the market for some fresh fruit she fancies for breakfast. Sillage good, noticeable but not overwhelming. Longevity is OK, goes on for hours.

Discovering this well after it was discontinued, I've been on the hunt for bottles! I've also been searching for perfumes which have buttery tuberose as their main note. None hold up next to Blonde, although I wear them as they are somewhat similar. There is no rival to its depth. I feel comforted and sexy wearing this gorgeous scent. There seems to be more demand for linear and less deep perfumes these days, but there must be a call for ones like this. I hope Versace relaunches this one, even if it is for one British blonde, who is on a quest to be doused forever in her favourite perfume! And not at the prices some people think they can sell vintage bottles for. I don't love it THAT much!

Blonde's tuberose and gardenia are open and obvious immediately upon application. Then the narcissus appears and a kind of golden warmth lingers for a really long time. Blonde stays vibrant on my skin as well as clothing for at least six hours. I am crazy for gardenia, tuberose and tropical florals and have many contemporary and vintage gardenia/white floral fragrances in my collection. Blonde is one of my favorites. I think it is more complex but at the same time rounder and more comforting than its fraternal twin Fracas. My hair is grey (alas) but I love Blonde. I keep plenty of it on hand and use it lavishly.

Why, oh why was this discontinued?! This is one of those rare animalic fragrances that became a legend; Versace Blonde is, as others have pointed out, one of the best (if not THE best) tuberose perfumes out there, and it is what first drew me to tuberose scents in the first place. The addition of carnation and ylang-ylang adds to the animalic tone, and the bouquet of gardenia, bergamot and orange give it a sophisticated edge. I still have my mum's old bottle which is quite old now, but every time I have a smell it takes me to a place both regal and playful. I hope Versace bring it back some time soon.

Oh, Blonde, my Blonde, how do I love you! 14 years ago it caught me eye because of the gorgeous bottle. I find it the best tubereuse fragrance out there. All other tubereuse frags I tried before and after Blonde were lacking something. Blonde has it all. Wear it if you want to get noticed! You will stop people and turn heads. People from both sexes will pay attention and ask what are you wearing. It's mostly but not always positive attention, but with a fragrance like this it's always whether love it or hate it, it would leave nobody cold! Blonde is sadly another discontinued masterpiece.

Somewhere in the nineties I started looking for a perfume for my wife. It was the first time I entered a perfumery. When the saleswoman made me smell versace blond, I was immediately sold. And what my wife thought of it? She was thrilled. It became "our scent" ... Since it's no longer available and the last bottle has been empety for a loooong time, we have been looking for a new scent. But after a search from more than ten years, and many many perfumes later, there is still no perfume that comes even close !!! How can we enjoy that wonderful smell again. Kind regards Peter & Myr

On me, this is almost pure tuberose. It took me a long time, working with essential oils - and some maturing - before I made friends with the overpowering scent that is tuberose but once I did, I also made friends with Blonde. Its in your face tuberose, with some slightly artificial - but not unpleasant - note on base, maybe its the carnation? that gives it this tone. This is a scent that takes its place, if you don't like it, it doesn’t care. But there is a level of sophistication here, too, if you have the courage to enquire deeper. I am starting to really, really like it.

If Fracas is the matriarch; Carnal Flower, the artistic aunt; Truth or Dare, the social-butterfly sister; Bloom, the athletic sister; Do Son, the effortlessly-successful-at-everything sister... Then Blonde is the second cousin who's been in and out of rehab, a heavy smoker, clad in a biker jacket, her roots showing. And while every member of the family is beautiful and memorable, sometimes it's just more fun when you're surrounded by a nicotine plume and a few dozen empty shot glasses. For those looking, Blonde is still available affordably on eBay.

This one is most unusual - in a good way!! I remember wearing this one years ago when my hair was blue/black, and person I worked with asked what fragrance I was wearing. I said "Blonde" and she said, "but you've got dark hair!" My response was "well, therein lies the paradox, doesn't it?!" Needless to say, there were no more comments from her. Blonde/brunette/redhead, whatever, it's a bold, magnificent scent that is peppery, intriguing and just plain ballsy (if I can use that expression!) If you do wear it, wear it with pride and don't be shy!

Blonde started it all for me! I never really paid much attention to perfume before it. And it was by fluke. It was at a discount store and I was immediately drawn to the name alone. Then the beautiful box and then the bottle. But when I smelled it, I immediately fell in love! I think it is one of the most beautiful perfumes ever made. It fills the room with lush elegance. No one ever knows what it is, yet I get so many compliments on the rare occasions I wear it. I spray it in my hair and I am in a Blonde cloud all day!

Sexy Sexy Sexy! I smell the ylang ylang, and that is an aphrodisiac. It's a little buttery with the rest of the florals. There is a slight animalic scent I can't quite put my finger on. You know when someone has been in the hot sun all day and they come indoors, and there's a smell? Not a bad smell, it's like their body smell that's intriguing. This fragrance has that kind of vibe to it. This was always an attention grabber. I'm glad I collected a couple boxes. Like a fine wine, this perfume gets better with age.

I've loved Blonde for 20 years & just came across a nearly full bottle I'd forgotten about - probably my 3rd or 4th as I wore it a lot. To me, it's less similar to Fracas than to another dc'd fave, Jungle Gardenia. Wore it today & it smells great. I have lots of Fracas but usually wore that at night. Funny how we all smell different things. A couple of posts compare this to Chanel no 5, which I don't sense at all. Anyway, a great fragrance & the only Versace I like.

Currently obsessed with this gorgeous vintage gem. So the main players to my nose here are tuberose, ylang, narcissus, carnation with gardenia making this whole beautiful symphony deliciously creamy and sweet. Everything here is blended into a smooth perfection. On my skin this is pretty strong and I have the vintage version. This is so addicting, elegant and womanly. Now the question is do blondes have more fun? I beg to differ unless you're a Versace blonde. Love.

What is not to love? This is a gardenia scent my favourite flower. Its similar to Carolina Herrrera, Truth or Dare Madonna, 273 Fred Hayman, Gardenia Island Jovan. Simply beautiful and strong. Gardenia and rose are delicious strong flowers in a perfume. Projection and longevity are moderate or above. But no Gardenia perfume is so strong and potent as Carolina Herrrera the vintage version and Truth or Dare Madonna. They are the queens of Gardenia scent. ♥️

A dirty, brash Fracas with no etiquette, no refinement and loose morals and that is quite what makes it so absolutely fantastic. It's bombastic, loud and wants a good time. It's trash chic. Utterly love it. It's the 90s all over again. It's a woman who does what she wants on her terms and makes no apologies to who she offends along the way. It's got attitude baby! It's no shrinking violet and it's a shame it was ever discontinued.

why oh why did they discontinue this arrrggghhhh !!!!!!! this was the best versace perfume ever !!! i love the in your face tuberose but in such a lovely beautiful way :):) im wearing this today & its makes me feel soooo wonderful.......aroma therapy on my arm lol :) i wish they would bring this back.............but wait lol if they did they would probably reformulate it then it would suck lol :) blonde you are very missed :):)

I was a blonde back in 1998 when I bought this hypnotizing medusa, when a new view of what sexy was came to me. Creamy metallic tuberose, like an inviting bath for two in Mediterranean dark blue thermal waters. Melancholiac in the dry down, made you want to wear only for special occasions, because it was a special fragrance. I've been searching for a good priced collector's one to remember this trip I took to heaven back then!

I love this quote by Nathalie Feisthauer about Blonde: “I was in Miami to visit Donatella. Madonna was there and she was the one behind the choice of tuberose as the main note. She was always with Donatella and smelling and giving her advice. Madonna was a true tuberose fan. There was no price limit for Blonde. We used real tuberose... The world production was needed for the launch. Nice memories of the 1990s.”

I just received my rare miniature of Blonde. This is 100% Fracas. There is just no other way to describe it. I like how different people interpret Blonde in their own unique way and smell different notes. I want to smell them too, I really do. But all I get it buttery, bubblegum Fracas and I'm so happy about that since you can't really get Blonde anymore but thank Goodness for Fracas!

Why do they have to discontinue such fantastic fragrances I really don't know... This is one of the best tuberose fragrances I have ever smelt, so if you like tuberose you can't go wrong with it. If you can find it of course.. It is already a rare frag though still luckily available on the internet. I wish they could bring this back without ever reformulating it...

Blonde is pure Versace. It is about power and abundance, positive (and feminine) power and abundance: self-confidence, optimism and a wise acceptance of life. A woman like this doesn't need to imitate men neither to use seduction in order to get what she wants. The perfume is "heavy", but I would like to wear it every day, while living a Blonde worthy life.

Creamy, delicious, and decadent without being heavy. Just enough funk to keep it from being prosaic. Love it. I have the small oval bottle that looks like labradorite. I think it’s from the 90s. Jan Moran lists the notes as: Top: Green Violet, Neroli, Tuberose Heart: Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Daffodil, Broom Base: Tuberose, Woods And the launch as 1996

Absolutely a masterpiece! I have so many favorite tuberoses forward perfumes and I decided to buy a vintage version of Versace blonde and I can tell you I think it is one of the best it’s got longevity the projects without being obnoxious it is subtle yet loud it is so beautiful if you’ve never discovered this, it’s worth a look!

huge bold yellow floral that is all about gardenia, tuberose then daffodil so it comes off almost like honeysuckle in the opening; ylang, musk and jasmine are present, too; although musky I wouldn't call this animalic or skanky because it remains too sweet and floral; it isn't that civet animal smell but I do love it

My all time fave. Blonde radiates (in a good way!) and lasts & lasts on my skin/clothing. A great tuberose and even after nearly twenty years, i still get good compliments when wearing this! Fracas by comparison is also nice, but does not smell as warm and natural (actually smells even a bit cheap on me).
