Crystal Noir Eau de Toilette

I received crystal noir edt for Christmas, and I wasn’t too keen on it. It had a kind of musty note, kind of reminded me of an old dusty cupboard. There is NO coconut note listed in this fragrance, that’s the EDP version that has coconut. This one is very woody, spicy and musky. I wore it a couple of times but honestly, I didn’t like wearing it, it wasn’t something I enjoyed smelling on myself. I felt it was missing something, like the warmth you’d associate with a predominantly spicy fragrance was overwhelmed by this dusty note that I think is pepper. At the time it was something I could imagine wearing to a funeral, very woody, dusty and spicy but not much going on. The longevity was very poor, maybe an hour and the sillage was almost non existent. Fast forward a couple of months to now, it’s been sat on my shelf and today I decided to wear it and wow! I love it! That dusty note has transformed into a sexy spicy woody fragrance that feels like a warm hug. It smells like date night, very mysterious and cosy but in a sexy way. It smells like a scent that could have a man intoxicated by you, something that makes your husband unable to stop smelling you. I believe that this fragrance requires some macerating. In the space of 2 months the pepper has become less dusty and more spicy, the hints of florals are very delicate but there. Most of all the longevity has more than doubled and the sillage has become huge!! If you’d asked me last week what I rated Crystal noir EDT I’d have said 4/10, today it’s a solid 8 for sure. Today I cannot stop sniffing my wrist and it’s lasted all day. I feel it is almost signature scent worthy, and I don’t know if I’m imagining it but I can smell a hint of coconut! The hint of coconut in the dry down is unmistakable, even though it’s not listed in the notes for the edt. This note seems to have given it the tiniest bit of creamy warmth , not well gourmand but it’s just rounded off the woodiness perfectly. I would definitely recommend leaving this perfume after spraying initially for a good month or so, then trying it again. It’s become a fragrance that I love from one I never wanted to wear again. I would feel so confident wearing this to go out.

I feel like there are so many misunderstandings about this fragrance. Based on the notes and the supposed accords like "woody" and "powdery", based on many confusing reviews that actually seem to talk about the EdP, and looking at the dark packaging of this fragrance, you might expect something warm, heavy, and sweet. You will then be surprised to find that Crystal Noir EdT is actually way more crisp, clean, soapy, green and floral than you anticipated. (Same here) Do not blind-buy! To me this smells like a dewy, chilly, blooming tropical garden at night - Crystal Noir EdT is so controversial and harmonious at the same time. Uniting opposites, that's what makes it so unique imo, and also the fact that unlike many female designer fragrances with similar marketing, it's neither very sweet nor warm. It's a green-ish creamy floral with a spicey-soapy sharpness and a hint of fruit. It's creamy freshness and bright/striking florals, yet dark and mysterious. To my nose, it can be worn anytime, all year, but due to its oddly dark and sexy vibe, it makes a great nighttime perfume. If I had to compare the scent to something; it strongly reminds me of liquid fabric conditioner. It basically makes you smell like clean, heavily fragranced laundry that is still wet - in a good, sophisticated, mysterious way lol. It would be the perfect scent for a beautiful female vampire. I picture her hanging out in a tropical garden by night, wearing a long black (freshly washed) dress, the humidity condenses against her cold and pale skin, making it dewy. She has a dark purple flower in her black hair. On a second glimpse, the packaging is actually very fitting after all. Edit Summer 2023: I have been wearing this for some months now. I want to add that I (and people around me) also definitely get a coconut note, which amplifies the creamy and tropical feel. I adore it. The notes really are so misleading - I don’t get any distinct sandalwood or musk; in general this isn’t powdery/velvety (=dry) at all, but very creamy (=wet). I think in order to love this you have to be fond of florals (specifically gardenia), coconut and at least be ok with ginger/pepper notes in the top.

My 3rd bottle. So quite clearly - I love this frag! Everytime I wear it, I feel very clean, mysterious and powerful, unique and sexy. Now, having CN first time in summer time, I for sure get the dark femme fatal-ish mystery more then in winter (or maybe the 2024 batch?). To me, the ginger and pepper are playing the main role. Fresh yet spicy. The combination of the musk and sandalwood gives it smooth, clean vibe, and the white flowers adds sweet, feminine touch. It's not too sweet, just perfectly sweet, perfectly fresh, and perfectly spicy. It's an amazing blend. I don't get the coconut from it as others do. Rather little tangy fig. I'm the type who wears a perfume as an important accessory, so some scents I can't wear with light clothes, other I'd never wear with dark. You got the point. But this one I can pull on with no matter what outfit. With dark clothes, or tight evening dress I feel sexy mysterious. With light clothes it makes me feel clean and airy, yet still rather dominant femme. I used to wear this frag to gym actually. And in combo with my body chemistry and intense sweat, it developed into something so clean and fresh yet at the same time sexual. Not just sexy, but sexual. Yet in the most non-offensive, natural way. You know how some say that Guidance smells like a woman's "south regions", in the best pheromony way? That's what CN does to me. I just feel like a walking bomb of pheromones. It projects great, lasts 5 hours, is unique yet crowd-pleasing. No matter the weather, day time or season - it just works and rocks. Note; I layered it with Burberry Goddes and... Oh my?! Edit/note: I have to share a little story. Couple months ago I run out of this juice, the last spritz were for our second date with my bf. Now I got a new bottle again after couple months. Yesterday I wore it and my bf couldn't stop sniffing me. He doesn't usually comment on my perfumes. This time, he did - he said it reminds him of our first or second date. Spot on, boy! He literally couldn't stop sniffing me. I actually think he was doing it even unconsciously. CN is known for being a man-eater and now I just have to confirm 😄

Without a doubt, best fragrance Versace ever released! Not that I have tried every single scent they ever made, but from what they still sell currently Crystal Noir EDT is their most outstanding creation! Sophisticated, addictive, surprising! Iconic! Launched two decades ago, it could be considered a modern classic at this point. It’s such an unusual, distinctive, unique blend of woody, spicy, tropical, floral, ambery, musky notes! In my opinion, this has the same distinctive scent trail like the original Alien by Mugler (they don’t smell similar) and both of them have maintained the desirability and charm throughout the decades. Let’s say that they aged well like a fine wine... Crystal Noir EDT opens very warm, spicy. The gardenia from the heart notes it’s the prominent flower on me. Call me crazy, but I smell coconut in this... Sandalwood feels so soft, smooth, relaxing. The amber is mostly in the background, adding more warmth and grounding the spices and the flowers. At first glance, all these notes are found in most of the perfumes sold nowadays, but the way that Mr Lie blended and carefully balanced everything creates something truly special and unique! This is one of those fragrances that I can’t really describe into words how beautiful, deep and intriguing smells! It’s powdery, light, soft and airy but it lasts and performs beautifully. Very versatile, year round wearable. Although it’s an EDT, my bottle of Crystal Noir performs surprisingly good. It’s long lasting, about 8-9 hours on clothing and projects intensely for the first two hours. For such an unique scent with great performance, Crystal Noir offers amazing value for money! It’s way cheaper than most of the designers scents these days but smells 100 times better! This is a gorgeous fragrance and quite unique in my experience! I know nothing similar to this besides the EDP version of it. I have never smelled anything like it before. Smells fresh and spicy, floral and beachy, mysterious and lures you in. It’s enchanting!

This has been a grower for me. I purchased it blindly in 2016 for the first time and was disappointed. Then, again, in 2020 when I was purchasing a lot of fragrances, and wanted to love this. I sadly didn't so I sold it. Again, in 2025, I decided to give it a go. However, it wasn't for the same reason as the last two shots... this time I actually had an inner yearning for it. I missed what I remembered. Has it lived up to my memory? Yes, and no. Yes, because it exceeded expectations and I didn't feel the upset the first two bottles gave me. and no, because I have fallen in love with it. Two positives for the price of one, you might say. The bottle I got is in the gold sparkly one. I prefer that box, and this perfume. Although this is the EdT, I still detect coconut which is apparently not a part of the formula. It's just not extra pronounced. Perhaps it's a memory of the original version I had, but I still say it's there. However, my nose could be tricked by the sandalwood / gardenia combination which is creamy, lactonic and almost vanillary on the sandalwood's part. It's a tiny bit spicy from the pepper and ginger. The orange blossom lasts until dry down, which is creamy, sexy and more enticing than I remember. It clings to you after about 4 hours. It gets stronger with each passing hour. The perfume lasts for at least 10 hours which is more than my last ventures with it, and it reaches out with great intensity. It's strong. Even just from two sprays. I occasionally say that perfumes are strong from one or two sprays but I usually mean that it lasts ages and I can smell it well. This is something others will smell. They'll enjoy it too. That sounds like a threat, but they'll really love it. I really can't express how much I love this. I'm so, so, SO glad I re-purchased. It was $60, and if I passed up that deal I would've kicked myself. Hard.

i’m a gourmand girl(my go-to is a linear vanilla) and i do like this fragrance. i DON’T think you need to be a strong/baddie type to wear this nor do i think that this is a dark scent by any means. im not sure how people are getting that from this at all. perhaps mixing up the EDP with this EDT. i initially got this because people mention it being a sexy/grown coconut smell. i am using the one in the ombré black and gold box which many say no longer has a coconut smell so im reviewing the newer formula. i dont FEEL like this has coconut i’m not sure if it ever did as i’ve never tried the pre-2020 version. initially this smells soapy/very generic/cheap. not a fan of it. i don’t really find it to be spicy whatsoever. as it sits it becomes a sort of soft floral i smell that orange blossom. it’s sweet, almost candy-like and reminds me of Can Can by Paris Hilton when this note hits.. it has a sort of clean smell BUT as this wears off i do like when it sits a little longer and becomes CREAMY which i LOVE i THINK versace was using probably using something like aldehyde c18 which gives that creamy note and it can lean sort of coconut but i do love this creamy smell it has even if it’s not really coconut smelling. it smells very feminine and sensual. it’s sexy without being harsh or leaning unisex. it’s sweet without being childish fruity or very old lady type of floral. i think id love to pair it with a simple coconut fragrance to have that added note with the creaminess. to me it stays creamy, kinda sweet maybe slightly clean smelling as well which i like for summer. i do quite like it minus the initial soapy smell and the floral longevity is 10/10 for an edt which is crazy. def my summer scent cause i like that slight clean smell and sweet creaminess. Silage is also really good

Crystal Noir.. I love to hate this. It's like that toxic relationship I keep running back to. I've bought the edp in 2022. Ultimately sold it because something about it gave me the ick. 2023 I found 2 bottles of the edt at my local ross.. like a heroin addict I caved and bought both because i just felt like i needed to try the "edt" version. Tried to love it. Again, hastily decluttered the open bottle and returned the unopened box back to the store within 2 months. Those versions were the all black packaging. *sigh* Now in 2024 I saw they switched up the packaging into a black and gold box. I'm wondering what for and while I don't have a concrete reason why they'd do that, im hearing online chatter that it's because they've reformulated the juice. So, like any crackhead I went into my macys one day and tested the new packaging/ supposedly different liquid- in person. What do you know. I thought 2x to myself , "hmmmm that was not bad , that was not too bad at all." Alas, I didn't buy it then but it was still on my mind for whatever reason ..I told myself that I can't *possibly* like it - "right?" Fast forward to today.. I saw this black and gold box staring me down talking to me at ross. "Buyyyy me... buuuuuuuy meeee." So I bought it. And now I have it. So I'll update if my dumba$$ declutters this yet again seemingly different version of crystal noir edt black and gold box edition. Color me crazy but I'm also eyeing and salivating over the newest 2024 Parfum release. Send help Y'all cause this damn fragrance is like the dybbok of my fragrance collection. EDIT: I love the gold and black edt edition ✨️ 😍 whatever they did to this reminds me slightly of the sandalwood that I find in the deep drydown of my beloved Amouage Guidance. I much prefer the reformulated version.

The first time I smelled this in store I absolutely hated it and walked away without even testing it on skin. After seeing so much praise for this fragrance from one of my favorite perfume reviewers, I decided to revisit it and tried it on. At first there is a sharp yet dusty green note which I'm assuming is the ginger which gives it an almost aftershave vibe. That part is not my favorite. Thankfully that note soon disappears and the creamy, sexy, white floral/coconut/woody notes come through and I. am. in. love. I have searched for a creamy lactonic non-gourmand white floral for so long since my beloved Michael Kors (original) was discontinued. Although there is no coconut listed here in the EDT, I find it has a coconut/fig note that gives it a sensual earthy vibe, yet it is not gourmand or sunscreen-ish. It is clean and lotion-like and not at all cloying. As for the cardamom, I don't really get that. The gardenia and orange flower notes stand out the most to me but are made even creamier and lactonic by the coconut/fig note. The sandalwood further creams this out into the most beautiful sensual scent that I cannot stop smelling my wrist. It has become my favorite perfume in my collection of 20+ perfumes. The performance is excellent for an EDT, better than several of my EDP’s. I’ve received more compliments on this than any other perfume in my collection. As for vibe, I don’t understand people describing it as goth or beast mode. It is the furthest thing from that. It's elegant, sultry, creamy, smooth, clean and addictive. I hope they never discontinue this!! 10/10

Oh, she's a beauty. This is one of my very favorite fragrances of all time. And part of the reason is that it's just so darned unique. It's clean, creamy, somewhat spicy, extremely well blended, and very sexy, which makes it an easy fragrance to wear in a variety of different settings. For me, this is a year round scent, suitable for daytime and evening wear. And I know that it's well received by others, because I am complimented on this fragrance often by both men and women. It projects quite nicely, and lasts for many hours on my skin and even longer on my clothes, which is no small fete for an EDT. This easily outperforms many of my niche fragrances, despite costing a lot less money. And I would say that it's a more unique scent profile than many of the niche fragrances I've tried too. Now to be fair, they did a reformulation at some point in the last couple of years and in this review I'm specifically talking about the older formulation. The new one bears some similarity to the older one in the opening, but in the dry down it's overall weaker and less interesting. It also has a slight medicinal/herbal quality that can be off-putting for some. Fortunately there are some of the older bottles still circulating around, and you can tell the difference because the older one comes in all dark packaging. By contrast, the newer formulation is in an ombre (black to gold) colored box. If you do try the newer formulation I would encourage you to test it on the skin, not just a tester strip. And IMO, I don't think this is a safe blind buy option.

Ok, I’m in love with this one. Head over heels, want to shout it from the rooftops in love, haha. On initial spray I get a bit of zing from what I thought was ginger (it’s not). It’s sort of dark, spicy & floral at the same time. I actually get a bit of Alien-esque jasmine too, though only for a few minutes. The opening is really hard to describe. After about 3 hours it’s joined by what I thought was coconut & gardenia (it’s not), I guess it’s the violet and frangipani. This gives off a very fresh coconut vibe - not synthetic or sickening, just yummy. Another 3 hours it starts to smell ‘cleaner’ - I understand where some reviews saying this smells like a mixture of body products are coming from, but non of mine are this fancy! And I wouldn’t simplify it by calling it soapy. It’s sort of like ‘clean coconut’, very creamy but mysterious. I’m pretty bad at describing this. Just try it, ok?! I love perfumes that transform with time and this is definitely one of them. It smells more like what I’d expect from the notes in the EDP (which I’ve not tried yet). However if this had put you off because you’ve been let down by coconut fragrances in the past, please give it a go. I can’t stand cheap-smelling coconut (yes you, Alien Goddess) but I’m a huge fan of this. It projects and lasts *so well* on me which I am so happy about as my skin is usually a sponge. Plus my hubby keeps grabbing my wrists to smell them, which is nice! You can get deals on this regularly, at least in the UK, so you can bet I’ve stocked up.

Perfect for a date night🥰 It's my night signature scent but I wear it during the day in autumn/winter as well. But not a safe blind buy! (The pepper & sandalwood might be too much for some people) What I think about it: - quite great sillage and longevity (better than edp on my skin) - as if you came out of an oriental spicy showed - you either like it or not, it depends on the person. If you don't like sandalwood or pepper, don't buy it. However, it got me some compliments. I also think it depends on the culture/background. For example I have some friends from India who really like it but I think it might be because they are used to cooking with spices. - It stands out. I would remember this smell. I just hope it doesn't get too popular like Carolina or others but for now I didn't smell it on anyone - unfortunately, there is no coconut in the reformulated version. PLEASE ADD THE COCONUT BACK! WHY DID YOU TAKE IT OUT? I never got to smell the version with coconut but I can imagine how it could be more complex and better with coconut. -NOT headache inducing and usually get headaches when the perfume is too strong in a bad way. P.S. Does anybody know how I could layer this one? I wpuld like to add coconut or vanilla preferably :) P.S. to the ones who make the perfume: please add coconut or vanilla

When I first sprayed this on a tester in the store, I thought, yuck, so I just put it in my pocket (perfume tester hoarder). I then brought it home to my mum and made her smell it and surprisingly, she found it really good. She said this smelled 'cold' when you smelled it, and I very much agreed with her on that. The spices make it fresh, not warm or syrupy sweet. I let it sit for a few hours and when I smelled it again, it was such a beautiful scent. I don't see coconut listed in the notes, but I definitely smelled something like coconut milk or water. Imagine fresh coconut milk graced with subtle and gentle white flowers and then a splash of fresh and intoxicating spices. IT SMELLS EXPENSIVE. It's not sweet, but fresh. It doesn't smell juvenile, but it smells expensive and luxurious. I feel like the type of woman to wear this is very confident, bold and has incredibly good taste in perfume. I tried to imagine talking and then suddenly getting a waft of this perfume. My thoughts were I would definitely chase the person wearing it. I can see how people can perceive it as granny-ish, but TRUST ME, JUST WAIT, because the drydown is the most beautiful blend of notes. Will be my signature scent.

Was sure that I would love it based on the notes, but it's no more than like. I blind-purchased the EDT, and even though it doesn't have a crazy sillage I kept smelling it on me quite strongly for hours, making me afraid that it'd be overpowering for the people around me - no compliments on the scent yet, but no negative remarks about the scent being too strong either (and my boyfriend has quite the sensitive nose). I really enjoy the way the EDT dries down, but the initial spray is a tad too sharp for my liking - the cardamom has an almost liquorice-like quality to it at first. Update: after testing it a few more times I can safely say this has grown on me! I think this is versatile enough that it could work in any season (I live in Scandinavia), and most occasions. Yes, it has that mysterious vibe to it, but it also smells very clean and put together - I could see this working in an office-setting if used sparingly, but also on a date or night out. The most of my current collection features scents that aren't too strong, and lean sweet, so this one has been my "productivity juice". Have been reaching for it whenever I want to feel confident and put together.

I procrastinated writing this review for a long time as this is one of my favourite perfumes of all time. How can my words do Crystal Noir justice? Well, there are few perfumes out there that I think are genuinely a gift to women all over the world. This is one of them. By no means is she like her sisters Bright Crystal and Yellow Diamond, two seemingly bright and citrusy perfumes. Crystal Noir is dark, sensual and sultry. It is warm and spicy in the beginning, dark violet in the middle, and woody in the base notes. This was the second perfume I have ever owned and once I applied it to my skin on Christmas morning, it immediately became one of my favourite perfumes, despite only owning one other perfume. I intrinsically knew that few, if any, perfumes could ever exceed my love for this. With its peppery and violet notes that gently mix with a sharp spiciness, this may not appeal to every woman's preferences and desires when it comes to perfumes and self-expression, but good god does it appeal to mine. Crystal Noir smells like the exact woman I want to be: bold, confident, mysterious, classy and seductive.

Where have you been? Somehow you have eluded me too long. From your inception to now becoming a fully fledged being. You have depth and substance yet you seem so innocent, fresh and pure. Refined and edgy at the same time, how is this possible? Yet you make it so. What a wonderful fragrance this is. There is something so mysterious about it, though it is not cloying, nor provocative in the same way as Dior Addict or Alien. It is not for everyone, though if you appreciate complex and unusual amber fragrances, then do not pass this by. More wearable than the aforementioned fragrances, and certainly more subtle than Narciso Rodriguez I haven’t tried the EDP or Parfum but I would rate this as a modern masterpiece. One can wear it in the day, though it is probably best suited for night time occasions. I would describe it as being like the tropical cocktail you fell in love with on holiday. You have no idea of the exact composition, it’s warm, subtly sweet and softly spicy, yet wasn’t cloying to the palate with a slight fresh twist also, if that seems possible. What is Italian for Je ne sais quoi?

First, I want to mention that obviously many of these reviews mix up the EDP with the EDT because people don’t realize there are 2 distinct versions of this. The EDP is stronger and spicier but has the same family notes as the EDT. This review is for the EDT specifically which is lighter and more floral. This has a creamy, floral, slightly coconut vibe. It’s a warm, sexy, comfort fragrance. This website doesn’t mention it, but there is very much a fig and frangipani note in this which I believe is what gives it that gardenia with a slight lactonic coconut smell. The highlight of this perfume is how well it was blended. Even if you don’t like the notes, one can appreciate how masterfully they blended this (hence why this perfume is still popular over 20 years later). This EDT sits between a musk, floral, and dare I say a touch of gourmand. It is feminine. It lasts the expected amount of time for a designer fragrance on skin and the base notes actually linger *very long* on clothing. So because of that, you do not want to overspray this one. One of my absolute favorites.

Got this one recently and I must say: I absolutely love it. I expected it to be heavier and maybe a bit woodier, but it is actually very nice and soft. The initial spray packs a punch with loads of sharp cardamom, but it quickly settles down into an almost sunscreen-like scent within five minutes. I don't quite know how to describe it, it kind of smells like coconut, but not overwhelmingly. Kind of like you applied a very luxurious sunscreen at a spa (you know, with the woody sauna scent). After about an hour or so, the creaminess goes away a bit, and you're left with a lightly woody amber vibe. Heavy on the sandalwood, which I typically don't go for but was pleasantly surprised with. It lasts for about 5 to 6 hours, with medium sillage. I wouldn't say this is an extremely 'sexy' perfume, more comforting. Not a safe blind buy, since I feel you would get disappointed if you were hoping for a heavier, sharper scent. If you strongly dislike sandalwood, you should definitely stay away since it's very present in the dry down. I can see myself wearing this all year round.

REVIEW FOR ALL CURRENT FORMULAS All have the same core dna. All have great lasting power and strength. EDT 🫚 The spices come through most in the edt. The freshest feeling, with an undertone of body odor (in a good way). No coconut. First spray feels slightly masculine, cologne-ish. You get a lot of the cardamom and ginger over gardenia. This one sadly fades into just the BO on my skin. I am a bit self-conscious wearing this one out due to the dry down, though I personally enjoy it. EDP 🥥 Creamier with coconut. Less spicy than the edt, more floral. It’s creamy coconut over gardenia with a hint of ginger. The dry down is clean and soapy vs the BO base of the edt. This is my personal favorite. The best option imo. PARFUM 🍮 Turn the Crystal Noir dna way down and add caramel, vanilla, and ambroxan. The sweetest with very little spice. Basically a caramel/ambrox bomb with a hint of vanilla-doused CN. Though this is supposed to be the strongest, the addition of ambrox has me going nose-blind quickly. This is my least favorite.

♟️I LOVE IT It stays on my wrists for 2 days, despite showers. When I heard people saying it’s dark academia scent, I didn’t believe them. But it is dark academia. Idk how to describe it. The sent is mysterious. I can tell there are pepper and musk. The scent reminds me of a book, but not a dusty old book, rather a brand-new one with crispy, fresh pages. It smells like a big, fancy library at Yale or Harvard, where university students come to study with their laptops. There are young women sitting at the desks with their MacBooks. They're dressed stylishly and neatly, and they come from rich families. It smells like dark academia, but not "poor student who writes poems and wears grandpa clothes," rather "old money, Ivy League, rich kids with a long line of inheritance who attend charitable foundation events and fancy parties on the weekends. They study hard, they're highly educated, they have goals and big dreams, they're addicted to competition, and they have strict parents who won't accept anything less”.

Hope this is helpful for any looking to sample or purchase! I have a full bottle that’s a 2020 batch, And I do think it’s nicer than the newer versions that removed the Lilial. The difference is most apparent in the opening, But overall, New one just doesn’t have as much depth, Still good but not as pretty. This is a perfume I have to be in the mood for, And when that mood hits, There’s nothing else like it! I’ve still never smelled anything quite like Crystal Noir. I love the sort of “humid” feel of this, I think that’s what reminds of being fresh out of the shower. I do pick up Coconut here, Probably from the combo of Fig and Sandalwood. Beautiful and unique!

Such an interesting fragrance! Moderate sillage. It is powdery and seductive, but it's also prickly and intimidating at the same time. It has a moody, alt aesthetic, but it also gives baby powder lol. I like that this is feminine, dark, and grown without being sweet. I really like the ginger note, but the powdery/pepperiness can make me sneeze, so I spray this with a light hand, esp in the warmer seasons. I actually think this fragrance could work year-round if sprayed carefully. I was trying to see if there was a spicy fragrance that could work for the summer, and an Ulta employee steered me toward this. I ended up buying this at that visit bc it was so memorable - the ginger note is distinct and charismatic. It's not a safe blind buy, nor is it for everyone, but if you want to feel dark and sultry, and the usual suspects aren't cutting it for you, then try Versace Crystal Noir (I've yet to smell the EDP version, but I really dislike coconut, so the EDT is my immediate preference).

I love this fragrance! On me it turns sweet after a while, which I don’t mind because I love sweet fragrances. It’s like a woody clean perfume, it’s smells like if I came out of the shower. It’s smells clean, but also it’s not a generic “shampoo-like” perfume. I was debating if I want a full size bottle, but I’ve used like 10 samples from this and I decided to commit to a full size bottle. It’s on a of a kind perfume in my opinion, not a safe blind buy if you don’t like powdery and woody fragrances. I personally do not like woody perfumes but this one is unique. Although it’s EDT, it’s quite long lasting (about 8 hours easily) and it’s amazing. I can definitely smell coconut out of it even though it’s not listed as an ingredient, but it’s not a cheap, sunscreeny coconut (I absolutely despise D&G Dolce Garden and Mugler Alien Goddess) it’s a mature, kind of fresh coconut. I absolutely in love with this.

so incredibly unique. i cannot get enough of a pepper note in perfumes and this hits the nail on the head so aptly. it is sexy without being overpowering. it exudes femininity in such a uniquely powerful way, without playing on overdone notes and profiles in perfumes (like vanillas, fruits, or florals) that are typically associated with feminine scents. this was my signature scent for a while back in high school - since this was a deviation from what girls my age back then were typically wearing, i would get sooo many compliments on how i smelled. i think it is an all-rounder in terms of seasons (and i should know... i went to high school in the middle east where summer heat could reach 50 degrees celsius) but would ideally be more suited for nighttime/date night wear. it could also definitely be signature scent material.

Normally sweet-smelling perfumes sort of give me a headache, but this one is a bit special because the pink pepper and ginger add an interesting spiciness to an otherwise sensual and warm scent. The cardamom and sandalwood add a lot of depth to the warm and sweet impression from Crystal Noir. It definitely gives off a coconut-y and creamy scent. I love it, perfect to spray on during a hot summer evening, but also spicy enough for fall and winter. It's also great to spray on for a beach day or any amount of time spent baking in the sweltering heat under the sun. For an EDT, it has amazing longevity; this lasts 8 hours at the very least. This is one of my earliest perfumes :) I got an EDP tester in 2016 and managed to scrounge together enough money to buy my first bottle in 2017. I get a lot of compliments on it.

Okay. First of all. This is NOT a compliment getter (I wear this for myself only). Second of all. This does NOT have any coconut in it (that’s the edp so don’t mix that up). Third of all. I LOVE THIS SCENT! I put this fragrance on every night before I go to bed when I’m by myself, to calm me down and feel all cozy. This smells super spicy and fresh at the same time, it’s very hard to explain. Definitely not a blind buy, try it first! It’s pretty sexy but more on the mature side. I’d call it unique for sure! And for an edt it has amazing lasting power. EDIT: I finished my bottle and bought the edp instead and OMG how can the edt be so much stronger and longer lasting than the parfum?!? I will definitely buy the edt again when I run out of the edp. Incredible!

I love this scent a lot. It’s an easy to reach for fragrance that I can grab for any season or time of day. It’s deep and floral with a little sweetness. It smells clean yet sophisticated and I see why so many say it has a “vampire like vibe”. I tried the sample first and honestly the notes are a bit different than what is listed here to me. In addition to gardenia and some amber I notice a lot of powdery orchid and the violet and jasmine stand out a lot to me. I can’t really single out the coconut too much. The sweet definitely comes out more during the dry down. It has a long last for a EDT. The price is amazing for this gem and the bottle design is so pretty, feels great to hold and spray. It’s nice to have a scent I can always fall back on and count on!

There is obviously some confusion on what the real notes are for Crystal Noir EDT. I don't know how it's changed over the years, if there TRULY is black currant and violet and all manner of things that don't belong in it, but I can give you the notes in my PRE-reformulation bottle. It is a tester, and has listed the following notes in the back: TOP: Cardamom/Pepper/Ginger HEART: Gardenia/Peony/Orange Flower DRYDOWN: Amber/Sandalwood/Musks OLFACTIVE FAMILY: Floral/Oriental Fragrantica's notes are absolutely correct as far as I know. Like I said, I haven't smelled the latest reformulation, so who knows, but I would be *extremely* disappointed if they had added a pissy black currant and tuberose to one of my Holy Grail scents.

The old Crystal Noir had amazing delicate and powdery sweetness: Gardenia that feels like Gardenia of Juicy Couture (not realistic Gardenia of Hermes), Coconutty Fig that feels like Premier Figuier of l'Artisan Parfumeur (not a cheap Coconut spray), tropical Tuberose whiffs somewhere between the lines, Orchids, and some powdery aura of female skin that is mixed with sour Patchouli and gives a dream of sweaty sexiness without being stinky and dirty; on the contrary, it felt like a lotion on a clean body. I got a sample of the edt last year and when I first smelled it, it was so soapy and overwhelmingly floral to me. I was NOT a fan. I just tried it again and I can't believe how much I like it now! It's still soapy and floral, but there's a creaminess there too. Now the florals smell a bit sweeter which helps immensely because I am not big on floral notes unless they're on the sweeter side. I swear I smell a hint of coconut or something mildly nutty even though on my sample card, I don't see any notes like that. I think I will get a couple more samples to try before committing to a full size bottle. *ETA - It's the fig that smells like coconut!

I purchased my pre-loved bottle fall 2020 so I’m not sure which formulation i have. But I agree this is fresh spicy soapy clean vibes with great longevity. 10 sprays on my shirt/upper body this morning and at the end of the work day I can still smell this fragrance. powerhouse. That says a lot since I have a large collection and most of them I need to put my nose to my shirt to smell in the dry down. This is a keeper. theres a breeze and i cant get enough of this scent in the air coming from my shirt. never went nose blind. amazing performance. it makes me feel like i just got dressed. fresh and uplifting yet cozy addictive and alluring.

The spices in the opening offer but a fleeting spark—just enough to draw the eye, or rather the senses—to the heart of the fragrance: a sensual, creamy floral bouquet led by the unmistakable warmth of frangipani. There is something singular about the way this flower drapes the skin in a soft veil—intimate, radiant, and quietly seductive. These are the notes that linger longest, whispering their presence throughout the day. Though the composition calls for reapplication, its graceful allure makes the gesture feel like a pleasure rather than a necessity. The notes list above doesn't agree with the list mentioned on the sample packaging.

Probably my most complimented perfume. It’s an EDT yet it’s strong and lasts a while. I can go anosmic to it if I’ve sprayed too much, and I’ll think it’s gone and then someone will say I smell good. I get a lot of coconut, woodiness from the sandalwood, white florals, and all the spices are present. I normally don’t like musky fragrances, but this one is so smooth and well blended that the musk is not screechy, it just helps the fragrance get a slight “second skin” feel. She’s clean, but not bright, like a dark and bold clean. The color of the bottle is well suited. She’ll always be in my collection, and I wear her constantly.

EDT version smells like dandelions, woods and amber. Really enjoying the dry down, it has a more natural scent profile than the Parfum version. There’s a note in the edt that reminds me of Bill Blass Nude but I much prefer how Crystal Noir edt pulled off that note by sweetening it and the peony. Both Crystal Noir edt and Parfum are nice in their own way. Parfum version has a very prominent blackcurrant note which came across as red roses, and is similar to that note in CH Good girl. I much prefer the way Crystal Noir Parfum pulled off that note.

I'm starting to suspect that I'm incapable of detecting pepper notes - I pick up nothing in the spiciest of perfumes. Crystal Noir is no exception. To me, she's floral and creamy, but also cool, distant, aloof. Sleazy glamour. Think heroin chick, a cross-faded, off-duty supermodel sat in the corner of the afterparty, still trying to look sexy whilst off her face. Going even further into the night, the florals become woodier, muskier, blurrier. Mysterious and suave. The perfect scent for that cool girl you've always envied.

versace crystal noir is true gothic. pitch dark, vastly classy, deeply romantic, black and plum, ornate chapels, a victorian ghost roaming the streets of london. this is a cool autumn night in a bottle. black lace, subtle smokey eyeshadow with a dark burgundy lipstick. shiny raven hair in a classic updo, a night at the opera. i cant wait to get my hands on the edp, however, i can assure you that if you've got a taste for the macabre this is the scent you've been looking for. absolutely stunning, and easily versace's best.

Such a deep ,rich and a mysterious fragrance. I first smelled this perfume when I was about 16 on my older cousin, I believed that this is what a mature and a wealthy woman smells like. I wore the bright crystal for the longest time and only in my late 20's switched to crystal noir. It's a very unique perfume. Got to note that the EDT is so much better than the edp. I've gone through a couple of bottles by now, currently I feel a bit tired of it, but I still love it and wear it from time to time.

Beautiful floral that could be clean and tame if it wasn't for the spicy notes giving it a hint of something more. This is sexy but not in a your face type of way, it's almost like a innuendo. Works for every season and could work from the office to a date easily. This is my more versatile perfume in my collection and it's absolutely amazing. Couldn't recommend it more. Darker sultry older sister of the bright Crystal and Crystal Noir is a name that suits it to perfection.

For an edt this packs a punch!!! I use to disregard edts assuming they were all weak but I’m seeing that sometimes they’re stronger and better than the edp. I got this for super cheap- a big tester bottle for $40. I’ve seen people rave about this but I never tried it until recently. This is a fresh, but deep scent. I really am enjoying it. It’s very smooth. You can’t really overspray in my opinion. For an edt it is pretty strong and lasts.

When it opens the ginger is prominent and a REALLY PULPY fig which isn’t listed but i detect on my skin for about 5-10 minutes then it dries to this velvety, creamy gardenia, and warm, milky woods that kinda give off a coconutty vibe along with a SUPER fluffy pretty musk and some spices. It’s all blended together SO well. The spices and white florals are absolutely addictive together. perfection. THIS is my special occasion fragrance.

i love crystal noir so much. i fell in love with it the first time i ever smelled it. it reminds me of coca cola, but at the same time a luscious floral luxury bath soap. it has the perfect balance of sweet and clean. it smells like a mature sexy woman who spends hours in the bathtub surrounded by candles and intricate glass windows. it’s alluring. it’s inviting. it isn’t cloying, it’s perfectly mature and dignified. so beautiful.

My Lord! I swear I always struggle to review this perfume because it is SO good that I feel words don't do it justice. What can I say? It's sexiness in a bottle, stunning, elegant, intoxicating and it blooms in the heat. Amazing performance for and edt and an absolute compliment getter! I usually spray my clothes and hair ties with this as well and I constantly catch whiffs throughout the day. This is a forever love. ❤️

Smells similar to Gris Charnel and performs better and is half the cost. I don't care for the ginger opening, but it goes away quickly, and then after that, it's a cozy woody floral vanilla fig that is just a delight to smell. Has nice projection without being offensive and lasts impressively long for an EDT, 6-8 hours on me. Perfect for winter and fall, but I could wear this any time of year that's how much I like it.

Surprisingly I love this scent. I can't particularly pick out any standout notes, since they all blend together so well. It smells clean, but not in an astringent way. Soapy mixed with some floral notes and a pinch of sweetness. Lasts the whole day on me with only 2-3 sprays. It becomes even more smooth in the dry down. I think this can be worn any season and any occasion. Nico Robin would wear something like this :)

Who would’ve thought that I would like a coconut scent?! And a winter version none the less! This is such a nice scent for autumn & winter, creamy spice with the aforementioned coconut. Not as present as in the edp but it is there and I really like it. Fir a mainstream fragrance it is very unique and the quality is outstanding. For an edt it has very good projection and longevity and it always gets me compliments.

I made an account JUST to come review this EDT. I am extremely picky when it comes to perfumes (I hate all the mainstream burberry goddess, ysl libre), but THIS EDT RIGHT HEREEEEE!!??? I SMELL SO SEXY AND EXPENSIVE AND CANNOT STOP SMELLING MYSELF! OBSESSED!!! AND IT LASTS ALL DAY. It's giving luxury, it's giving "I don't have time for you boy!", it's giving "careful you might fall in love with me!"

This is very much a compliment getter! I have people chase me down to ask what scent I am wearing. I layer with the EDP and have been wearing for about 3 years now. It's my absolute signature fragrance. It is warm and spicy floral. The drydown is so nice.. creamy and powdery and lasts forever. In the summertime, I add a Coconut Paradise body spray from B&BW. So amazing on those hot summer nights 🧡

This is like a braiding of white-musks, creamy woods and cold cardamom; so musky, woody & luminous. I picture a Shield-Maiden, wrapped in white furs aboard a carved wooden Viking long boat. Her braided white hair and bronzed skin are set with coal-rimmed eyes made luminous by a view of the sea in the moonlight. It's the seamlessly blended combination of fluffy white kitten fur and black cat eyes.

Wow, what an amazing spicy perfume, I don't even know how to describe it but I love it. It's creamy, reminds me of dried flowers mixed with some spices in the best possible way or a very nice calming essential oil. It's super unique, never smelled anything like it before. It's not overpowering and it's suitable for all seasons whenever you want to smell unique. Performs really well.

Reviewing this again after almost a year! I like this slightly more than the EDP version because the pepper-ginger is not prominent, immediately gives the tropical ice cream vibe. BUT, when it dries after some few hours it smelled like play-doh on the skin. EDP doesn't have that plasticky quality. Fortunately the play-doh scent is gone/refreshed after being splashed with water

It's my addiction! Such a sexy and spicy scent OMG! It's so unique! Loove it! I even wear it at home even though I didn't plan to go out🤭 It's that much addictive girls:)! The scents that I get on my skin are like warm spicy musky white floral mix with a hint of kinda fruity:) just a wow perfume for me:) suits my personality perfectly ☺️ definitely my signature one;)
