Jeans Woman

This is one of my last acquisitions.. The only in the versace jeans without a colour of reference and this is completely different of the other ones in the series. Very fresh and citrus.. sharp, bright... nothing to do with the others and let say that neither the bottle or the tin have nothing to do with the fragrance insight. Very nice for daily use, since it makes you feel clean. The main problem is that it doesn't last very long, another point in which this fragrance differs from the other one in the series. If you are fan of versace red, white, yellow or metal jeans, you will find this totally tasteless I think... It will offer nothing new or different to you, so don't bother even trying it. If you don't like the other ones, probably you will enjoy it!!

I am testing this Versace "Jeans Woman" from 2004 alongside the iconic "Metal Jeans" for Woman from 2001. While the cited notes are identical, the scent is quite different. The Metal Jeans has a full, round, heady Lilac and White Flower combo, nicely supported by a little spice from Nutmeg and warmth from Vanilla. It still manages to be fresh, and very pretty. Now, onto this bizarre bottling from 2004, ""Jeans Woman". This is a fresh, green, Lilac with a sheer Musk base. No Vanilla or Nutmeg, and the White Flower I get the most of is a wan Freesia. "Jeans Woman" has a sour note that makes it very reminiscent of "Eclat d'Arpege", although even EdA is slightly warmer in character. I can see the comparison to D&G Light Blue as well. Interestingly, this fragrance, while not my type at all, is most certainly the precursor of the wildly popular sour/sweet/green/fresh fragrances that have dominated the commercial young womens' market for the last decade+. I would be interested to find more information about this scent and who the perfumer was. I don't think this one was popular at the time of its release due to its obscurity, but would certainly be a hit in today's market.

Terrible bottle, i find it a bit too musky and spicy but wearable, but i don't dig it out too often, probably because the ghastly purple bottle is such an eyesore.
