Versace Man Eau Fraiche Extreme

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills reading these reviews. It smells like an enhanced, modern version of the OG. Can definitely sense the ambroxan and some other additional nuances that aren’t in the OG, but it actually remains pretty faithful to the original, imo. They removed whatever makes the original smell synthetic and outdated. From what I understand, the culprit was lower quality musks that were around in 2006. I’m a bit bummed about the starfruit supposedly being gone, but then again I’m not sure I actually know exactly what starfruit smells like. This still has a sweet, citrusy accord that for all I know could be starfruit, and maybe even smells better than the original starfruit. Just received this today, so will update when I have some more time with this, but I am relieved and pleased with how it smells. Good job Versace! You stayed faithful to the original but modernized it. The OG was my signature scent for over a decade before I really started to get into perfume. After I became a frag addict I strayed away from the original Eau Fraiche because it had some bizarrely weird, bad smell compared to newer fragrances. I went to a discounter about 4 years ago and I remember when I smelled their decant of Eau Fraiche I thought it was mislabeled because it smelled terrible - not even sure how to describe it. Like pencil shavings and play doh or something, but not in a good way. I later realized that they did have the actual fragrance in that decant, after repeating this experience at home, smelling eau fraiche after smelling the rest of my collection. But it might just be something about how the top notes go “bad” on the nozzle - spraying it, that bad smell almost completely went away, although a hint was still there. (Happened with my acqua di gio also). Anyway, all this is to say that I believe Versace, specifically Mr. Cresp, knocked this out of the park. They kept what worked and tossed what didn’t. Eau Fraiche has been modernized. Hallelujah! I can enjoy my old signature scent again.

Fluffy marshmallow orange blossom and lavender laundry sheets, a bit of lemon cake and a massive dose of a high quality, almost effervescent and salty clary sage. This fragrance is more clary sage heavy than ambroxan to be honest. People always find fragrances with high doses of natural juniper or clary sage to be "synthetic" which I always found rather ironic. Dries down to a sage-y, ever-so slightly dirty cedar note with traces of the orange blossom still present. Impossible to offend; the pinnacle of safe. Whether that's a good thing or bad thing is up to you. Editing to add: reminds me of Lagerfeld Bois de Cedre, only partially in smell but totally in feel in how it captures the essence of a blue sky, carefree day. There is a hint of saltiness in the dry down from the cedar and musks and the way it melds with the fluffy orange blossom and almost clean cotton clary sage accord is therapeutic in its comforting simplicity. I'll have to give this a test on skin before I could say anything definitive but there may be a certain magic here; sometimes less really is more (even if Yngwie disagrees).

Versace Man Eau Fraiche Extreme isn't bad, it shouldn't have been a flanker however but more on that later. It's a lovely scent, but as others have said it's eerily similar to YSL Myslf EDP, with a hint more musk and a smidgen less sweetness. Their dry down is nearly identical yet Man Eau Fraiche Extreme last longer. It's not nearly as bad as others claim, it's generic and redundant, yes! YET, not as generic as say Dylan Blue. . .Extreme is a decent 8/10, but it really shouldn't have been used as a flanker. This bears ZERO resemblance to Eau Fraiche 2006. If Versace wanted jump on the orange blossom bandwagon of 2024/2025, they should have kept the starfruit... that would have given this the right as a flanker & given it a unique spin...I do prefer this over YSL Myslf EDP, It's a year round fragrance leaning warm, yet the musk really broadens its use.... be warned, MANY of the bottles are experiencing issues; where the base metal that connects the bottle to cap isn't sealed resulting in leaks.

I am honestly shocked at the low rating of this perfume. This is the best cologne I have ever smelt in my life. I know a lot of people find it generic but I think it is quite honestly very unique and the best blue fragrance I have ever smelt. In my opinion, this scent is very versatile. It is incredibly fresh and I could see it working well for the office or even for running errands, but elegant and sophisticated enough to be worn to a fancy event. I prefer this to the original, which I think has merit but reminds me of lemon drops or cleaner (sorry, I know everyone loves that one). I think this is a great option if you want a perfume that isn't overly trendy, it does not seem very popular for some reason. I could see this becoming popular or trending soon, this is totally underrated. I'm genuinely shocked at the rating. 11/10 in my opinion.

Just got a sample of this and I like it. Granted I haven't tried Myself or any of the flankers, so I can't compare but to me this unique smelling (but definitely blue). I don't really get much of the original in this, to me this smells like fresh laundry in the best way possible. There's a neroli like note (I guess the orange blossom) that really pops. There's something about it that brings me back to JOOP nightflight, but maybe that's my memory playing tricks on me (it's been 30 years). I can see a use case for this in my collection so likely I will be picking up a bottle depending on how it dries down and it's performance (just sprayed it).

Don’t listen to the negative reviews on this. Everyday I have worn this I have gotten a compliment or asked what I was wearing. It just smells good. It’s not meant to be the OG. However the dry down is very similar and it last longer than the OG. The OG was the only fragrance i wore for 7 years so I have a great love and respect for it. But this is a step above in my opinion. Smell for yourself!! Update: Today I went to a Doctor appointment. After I checked in and walked away. The young lady behind the window told her co-worker “OMG did you smell his cologne? It smells sooo good” I am 3 for 3!

Went to ulta and tried it out and the chemistry was there. Masculine citrus/floral. 3 sprays on the wrist and walked out. Gave me 6-8 hours on the skin and it projected very very well. My wife loved everything about it. At the end of the day it’s whatever she likes on me. It can fall short from anything ground breaking but coming from a guy that grew up with Eau Fraiche, it was a no brainer and I caved in and bought Eau Fraiche Extreme. If you like to just smell great and gather compliments, do yourself a favor and buy it. Scent 9/10 Sillage 6/10 Longevity 7/10 Overall rating 8/10 💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎

This scent profile is totally right up my alley. Smells similar to YSL MYSLF mainly, with a dash of Invictus (layered for comparison); but floral-leaning with a lighter citrus accord, soapier, and a bit muskier. It has a light bubblegum-like sweetness, but isn't too sweet nor juvenile. The clean muskiness and the soapy accord from the middle notes balances it, giving it a fresh and masculine vibe. I'm happy with this fragrance, it really uplifts the mood. ✅Excellent

Honestly, it's not close to the og. The ambroxan is heavy here and it seems to be Versace tried to create it as a mass appeal dna and a wannabe fuk-boi scent. Some of you critics will see this as a basic generic designer, darker soapy lavender with amber, some musk and very ambroxan. Some YSL Myslf vibe here due to use of orange blossom perhaps. Has Invictus and 1M vibe and dna too. Not that impressed but will wear a few more times

Dude this slaps,i dont get the hate for one more time..and nobody has added the freshness on the notes..its fresh clean,has kept the dna of the original up to a point but is deeper.I like it very much..and i will say that: reminds of ysl intense,yeah there i said it..anyways should have been rate around 4.20 out of 5 easily..nice clean fresh scent ! There is no way you can say that smells bad 😂😂..the scent is pleasant af!

Oh and this smells nothing like any of the versions of MYSLF, lol Edit: ok, I finally see what people were talking about. I had myslf le parfum and then I got absolu, and didn’t notice any similarities in those. But I eventually rounded out the collection with the edp, and yes, it does smell similar to this. Different enough to stand on its own and I don’t regret having both in my collection, but I do see the similarity

I went in store to test this on my skin the other week. I was expecting something terrible or below average from everything I heard. I went back the next day and purchased a bottle. It's winter here in Australia but I've been wearing this to the gym and when summer hits, I'll pump it hard. It is clean, fresh and classy for sure. Casual and semi formal. I think it's another great release from Versace.

Love this fragrance, the orange blossom and lemon really lift the wood and musk scented undertones. The opening is citrusy and sightly sweet, id say its not as sharp as the EDT in the opening but it makes up for it with the warm intimate dry down. Very good fragrance overall with good performance and value. Edit: Just today i got another compliment on this fragrance out of the blue.

i tried this cologne at an ulta the first time seeing it. i wanted something that not a lot of people have and i found it. this smells like a flowery beautiful blend with fruits. i was complimented by the ulta worker at checkout and complimented right after i walked out into other stores. a very safe blind buy if you like softer scents. i find that it lasts on my skin.

This is low key stunning, a modern versatile fougere, fizzy and fresh and slightly bitter green with a beautiful combination of barbershop favorites like geranium, clary sage and clean lavender bouncing off fresh ambroxan. Easy reach! At first the orange blossom smells a bit same-y as current releases but this then goes in a beautiful fresh fougere direction.

Very linear fresh blue scent, projects pretty well and lasts long too. It does not smell the same as regular eau fraiche but it has the same punch or feeling it introduces. For some reason it smells very familiar to me like a very expensive soap or laundry detergent but still very classy and unique I'd say.

Absolutely fantastic fragrance. Don't believe the hate for it, it's a lovely fresh punchy fragrance and I got 50ml for around £40. Really pleased with it, very safe blind buy and quite different to anything else I own I think 👍 Top stuff 9/10 all round.

Recent purchase for me. Signature scent worthy. It has similarities to the original but has its own flair. As my wife described it: Its very fresh and manly, without smelling too young or old, its just perfect. Im in my 30's and this works well.

Everything I look for in a summer freshie is in this - this will be my go-to this yr. Expensive tanning lotion vibes with a powdery finish. Wouldnt buy this full retail $ though - fortunately for me I got this with a major discount.

I think this is superb! Very much traditional lavender leaning but with the other notes supporting it and making the whole blend a stand alone, suprising yet very much appealing scent for the man above 40. Bravo.

I am sure those who claim it is not Eau Fraiche or does not have its dna have not smell it. I sampled this and wow, it is exactly what it claims to be. I just love it.

Definitely has Eau fraiche DNA but more extreme, never could've seen this release coming from a mile away was a great surprise seeing it at sephora

A balanced mix of the OG and YSL MYSLF. Works well, but missing is the summery zing of the original.

Versace Man Eau Fraiche Extreme opens very similarly to the original Versace Man Eau Fraiche with that airy clean starfruit freshness and watery green citrus vibe. There’s a little more citrus brightness than the OG and the opening feels fresh, breezy, and easygoing. Underneath though, there’s already a darker blue shower-gel backbone that gives the fragrance more density and a more modern designer feel. As it develops, orange blossom starts becoming noticeable and adds a clean laundry-type freshness while the fruity notes become sweeter and almost bubblegummy. There are still watery green elements and slight peppery nuances around the edges, but the fragrance becomes more blended and less airy than the original. Eventually ambroxan and woods start coming through more strongly underneath the fruity sweetness, shifting the fragrance into a more modern woody blue scent. In the drydown, the sweeter fruity notes soften and blend into the woody ambroxan base while faint green and floral nuances continue lingering in the background. The drydown itself is smooth and pleasant, but it ends up feeling more generic and less interesting than the opening. Overall, I enjoyed the opening quite a bit, but the bubblegum transition wasn’t really my thing. The drydown was nice enough but pretty uninspired overall. I would probably just go for the original Eau Fraiche instead since it keeps the airy watery freshness throughout and feels more unique. 7/10

I owned a bottle of Versace Man Eau Fraiche EDT and enjoyed it. When I bought a bottle of the new Fraiche EDP version, I was aware that a number of Youtube influencers didn't like this fragrance, claiming it was unoriginal (too much like YSL MYSLF with a prominent orange blossom note). Here's my take: get Versace Man Eau Fraiche EDT out of your head and just smell this fragrance and ask yourself if this fragrance smells good. It smells great. What I like about this fragrance is the beautiful fresh opening of lemon and orange blossom, but more so the dry down where the woods and ambery musk become more prominent. This fragrance is not a beast (despite the 'extreme' tag). It moderately projects, longevity is moderate but most importantly it smells great and you can tell that there is craftsmanship in how this fragrance is constructed. This fragrance could also be worn as a signature scent when you want to smell nice, clean and fresh. Will this get compliments? Absolutely! In sum, I like this fragrance. No, it's not some groundbreaking fragrance, but it smells very nice and certainly something you can wear without any fears that you are wearing a nauseating fragrance.

Nice. I bought it shortly after initially smelling it on paper and spraying it on skin. It is appropriately named. A extreme rendition of the original. It's very similar to the OG that the differences I can tell is that they replaced the star fruit with citrus. And they -might- even have been able to eliminate that lumberjack wood chips woodcraft shop cigarette smelling drydown of the original ( I said might because I won't being giving this a full wearing until the weather turns hot again then I could confirm what the drydown is really about). Then it actually smells a little brighter but smother and a tiny heavier. But it's overall very similar, with it being still a somewhat linear fragrance. With none of a cheap musk smell at all just like original( a aspect in perfumery that's is most important to me). A citrus fragrance best suited for weather in this day and age with good performance is always welcome. Oh, let me not leave that the bottle really seems great to me. Love its design and color.

I see a lot of "it's good, not great..." reviews and that sums up my feeling as well. I get decent projection and longevity, especially for the first 90 minutes to two hours. It settles down to a more than intimate skin scent, meaning you will still catch whiffs in the air and not need to bury your nose into your arm to smell it. It's safe, it's mass appealing, it's uninspiring. You really can't go wrong with it, unless you are expecting it to be more than it is. It's a nice warm to hot weather fragrance with decent longevity (about 7 hours on my skin). I bought my bottle for under $50 shipped, so I'm happy with my purchase. At that price, it's a really good fragrance. I think I would probably be a little disappointed if I had paid more, just because i would have expectations of a better scent profile. The opening is reminiscent of MYSLF because of the citrus, orange blossom, floral mix, but as it dries down, the musk and cedar take over.

I like the OG (eau fraiche) better, but this is a nice change of pace. Of course the scent comes off stronger. The OG DNA just kind of hangs in the background somewhere very lightly, while the extreme notes have a party and steal the show. Since I like the OG better, I would rather layer this with the OG. There is a slight synthetic ambrox note in this extreme version that I don’t like, but it is blended well enough to not be overly annoying. There’s sort of a minty green note that I like which gives the fragrance a nice kick. Overall this is a good fragrance. I would’ve rather had them come out with something less extreme and maybe just more intense, so that it honored the OG DNA more. I received this extreme versionas a gift, but I’m not sure if I will buy it when I run out. It just depends on if it grows on me or not because there are other things I could layer or blend the OG with to give it a bit more pizzazz.

It is having the sweet and creamy opening, the sweetness is strong, kinda bubblegum sweet. Grapefruit is noticeable, it's clean and modern. White musky wafts and orange blossom lend the scent a clean, fresh, detergent like quality, with something mineral and soft-spicy, sitting behind. Vanilla develops alongside strong tonka and modern amber-wood aromas. It's all quite pleasing albeit feminine leaning. Smells of coconut and amber as it wafts around the wearer. Performance is solid. Unisex, best for spring and autumn, day or night. Suits most ages. Not similar enough to the OG for Super-fans, but it's nice. May become lost among other scents with the same DNA?

I am wearing this today. I picked it up more as a collectors item since I have the original and always enjoyed it. This is completely different in some aspects and similar in others. The opening is very similar to Polo Sport from the 80's, which I always loved and wore a lot in high school. Then, once the top notes fade-away, I start to pick up little nuances from the original. It is obviously missing the star fruit, which is a shame, but it still has a very slight resemblance. I actually really enjoy this fragrance and my wife also. I think it should have been named Man Eau fraiche Sport, that would be more fitting for the style and feel of it.

This is a great blue fragrance, its very versatile and can be worn to the office, out for a dinner date, to a club or the beach. Totally inoffensive, really fantastic scent profile that lasts really well for a blue and has good sillage, this will get compliments although keep in mind its a designer so the compliments wont be like with a niche fragrance where you'll get them in abundance but you'll still get complimented here and there. Considering how cheap this is and how well blended it is you simply cant go wrong, its perfect for a hot day and definitely worth its place in the summer rotation.

Smelled it yesterday in store. It has a briefly reminiscence of the OG but much more aromatic, woody and dense. It quickly turns into an orange blossom based scent with the aromatic fougère core and an ambroxan base. Something like MYSLF but more aromatic. I sprayed on my arm and i still smells it today after sleep, so longevity is great. But overall, the OG is better, more unique and iconic. But this could be popular.

Again. Don't listen to influencers and pretentious ding dongs. The OG DNA is absolutely present but made new by adding a laundry freshness to the profile. To hate on this fragrance because it doesn't meet your high standards, it's not niche ding dong. If the laundry fresh scent gives you YSL MYSLF vibes, it's not the same. The two fragrances are not the same.

..... with this one,.. I’m picking up remnants of something familiar to Issey miyake pour home the one from the 90’s leau de Issey I think it’s called. It must be the shared Bourbon Geranium note. But to my nose they share just a spark of resemblance to one another. I do prefer this over that✅

I think it classic one. It’s smells good and is easy to wear. Nothing special, but Is likebale. I would buy it when the price goes down. 6,5/10. Dont really understand the hate. It’s a okey fragrance special for people thats not in to fragrance. It does the job.

Just sprayed this on after a good gym session and shower and this is your typical gym scent. Smells fresh to me, not wow, but does the job. Would only buy a travel size in this and keep it in my bag. I like it.

In the same sort of vein as ysl myslf. Similar smelling in my opinion. Safe blind buy but it is quite boring. Gets the job done if you just want to throw something on. So many other good options though.

I feel like this flanker is pointless. It tries to do everything at the same time and it does. Everything ok...but nothing great. Since their so many better options, I’ll not recommand this one:(

I think this release is closer to the original Versace Man Versace (discontinued later ). I really like it and it has a good balance that makes it wearable and likeable as well .

When i sprayed on skin and start sniffing it ysl myslf edp was the first thing came to my head if you have and tried ysl myslf you are not missing anything. Btw edt is better

Smells like a very generic fresh fragrance. It certainly smells good but there's nothing that stands out about it. It's a safe everyday freshie. 7/10
