God Bless Cola

God Bless Cola top notes ; popcorn, cola, vanilla Vibes ; I love the energy of this perfume. It’s cheap, it’s simple, she doesn’t strive to be anything that she isn’t. She knows who and what she is - and that’s the smell of a movie theater in the morning. Smell ; Holy hell man this smells. SO good. The popcorn is less buttery and more akin to kettle corn, personally! The vanilla is a bit heavy but the cola comes through in the back FOR SURE. Smells the same on application then it does later on the dry down, maybe a little mellower. My partner and I agree that we wish it was stronger - I’m curious to know if a heavier application would fix that! Smells warmer on the skin than it does in the bottle. Sillage ; I didn’t get any kind of lingering effect honestly? When I left the room, the scent did too, near instantly. Projection ; because it’s an oil, it’s not very projective (for me) and is more an intimate smell. I put it on my inner elbow (I wash my hands too much to do my wrists) and my partner could hardly smell it at arms length. Longevity ; sticks around awhile! at least six hours. applied after a hot shower and stuck around for the evening until an hour after I woke up. dry down was hard to judge because it’s an oil but like. it was a good long while bc I fold my arms a lot lol Packaging ; the bottle was really hard to open I won’t lie. but I genuinely enjoy Versatile’s description of the perfume! Value ; okay so. a full bottle of this is cheap by a lot of perfume standards, and even with the lower strength, I would happily pay for a full bottle. I really liked the smell, I really enjoy oils, and I think a full bottle might have the cola intensity that I’m looking for. Final ; God Bless Cola markets itself as the anti-diet fragrance. it’s an ode to the sweetness of cinema, a birthday party at the movies, sickly sweet buttercream and sparkling cola. while these things are loud and intense, God Bless Cola sits very close to the skin and provides a truly delightful note to just your own senses and the senses of those who are closest to you. the hype for this cheap go-to is warranted. 8/10

Sampling Versatile Paris - God Bless Cola, one of the house’s most recent releases and my very first try of the house, ordered from Ministry of Scent because I saw it advertised there and it definitely caught my eye. The note list includes cola, popcorn, caramel, peanut butter, soft woods, sweet gourmand notes, and vanilla, and it largely delivers on these blend, mainly a peanut/caramel popcorn blend with a bit of cola, rather than being particularly cola-led, which is fine, since there are a couple of more cola-centric fragrances on the market that I love in Mancera Tonka Cola and Hendley Cola. It’s more reminiscent of Kerosene Unknown Pleasures in sort of caramel waffle aspect, albeit without the citrus but a little bit of effervescence via the cola, perhaps. Frankly, though, I cannot get enough of interesting gourmand creations like this that combine a variety of aspects for one collective scent memory. This transports me to not only a carnival / fair, but also to a movie theatre / cinema. Overall, it’s a lovely scent and off of the dabber sample seems to perform well, and this makes me look forward to sampling the rest of the house. God Bless Cola and other perfumes in the house are priced at $55 for 15ml in extrait (30%) concentration, sold with rollerball application, via boutiques like Ministry of Scent and Luckyscent. 8 out of 10

A very fun fragrance. It opens almost like a lemon tart with a buttery popcorn smell. It’s nostalgic, warm and cozy but a bit more linear than I expected. I love it and although I wouldn’t rush to buy another bottle when it runs out I definitely will keep it in rotation as a layering scent. 7.5/10. Update; it’s been a few days since I tried it and I can honestly say this is in my top five at the moment. The caramel is very present in the dry down but it never loses that buttery slightly smokey scent that it has on the open. I enjoy wearing this one to bed and it’s what I call a great “hug fragrance” you will definitely get a compliment after an embrace. Not sure about the cola scent but I do still get a lemony scent that isn’t listed but that’s the first thing that comes to mind. Have layered it with two fragrances and it compliments them well especially Angels share. I honestly think this one is a gem and I’m changing my rating to a 9/10. Would love to see how this smells to me in a few months. Only downside is that for a 15ml roll on I believe it’s a bit overpriced this should be $25. Either way another successful blind buy

God Bless Cola by Versatile Paris God Bless Cola is more caramel popcorn than cola. It opens with this rich, buttery, lactonic vibe that immediately gives off a cinema mood, like buttered popcorn on the floor, caramel coating everything, and maybe someone sipping cola in the back row. The cola note is there, but it's not the focus. If you're expecting a fizzy soda scent, this isn't it. The popcorn and caramel take center stage. Performance is where this falls short. The projection is moderate to good, but it only lasts around 30 minutes to an hour and a half on my skin, which is disappointing for something this unique. I use the 15ml roll-on format, which I like in theory, but I’m not a fan of the oily feeling it leaves on my skin after applying. Still, if you're into edible, buttery gourmands and want something that captures that cinema snack moment, it's worth trying. Rating: 8.3 / 10

God Bless Cola is an incredible creation - not as a perfume, but as a statement-making piece of modern art. This evokes such a crystal clear memory from my childhood that it almost makes me emotional; and for that I love it, however it’s not something I’d wear to be honest. It smells exactly like those cheap knock-off gummy cola bottles I used to get at the cinema pick n mix; like an off-brand, flat cola which is overtly sweet. To further the cinema effect, these cola bottles are strewn across the red, carpeted floor along with hot butter popcorn, left to stagnate on the dry, grubby surface of that unwashed carpet. Does that sound pleasant? Probably not, but it does smell great. As I said it’s not something I’d want to wear, as it really does smell like the cinema. However, this scent I found to be incredibly nostalgic and well made, it’s really impressive.
