Rouge

This fragrance was such a pleasant surprise. I was standing in a pharmacy, waiting to get my prescription refilled when I saw a display case full of bottles of this 'Verset' brand. Pale cream boxes for women, navy blue for men. Classy looking packaging to begin with. I figured I had a few minutes to spritz a few testers onto the paper strips provided and this 'Rouge' on was the first one I sprayed. Immediately I knew it reminded me of something I already had, but I also knew it wasn't an exact copy. When I checked out the prices it was £5 for 25ml or £20 for 100ml. It was a no-brainer. I knew this was a fragrance I was going to be able to wear every day and at such a reasonable price, I could also afford to lash it on as much as I liked. Which is exactly what I DID do. I couldn't stop sniffing my wrist, the whole way back from town and eventually I was able to come on here and find out what it was supposed to smell like. OF COURSE! It's like Dior Hypnotic Poison, which I also own. Of course it's not a total clone, but it contains enough similar notes to be suitably reminiscent and help to evoke the same memories that HP does. I always wear fragrance, no matter where I am, or whether or not I'm around people or alone. I wear it because it lifts my mood and makes me feel good. This fragrance really puts a smile on my face. It manages to feel clean and classy, whilst also being creamy, cashmere-like and sweet too. I just think that this entire fragrance is amazing value for money. The bottle is really pretty, the whole thing looks a lot more expensive than it actually is, and the scent is just so lovely and feminine, I can't help but keep going back for another spray. It's also good that I bought it when I did, because my little brother bought me 'Givenchy L'Interdit EDP' for Christmas (he is so good at selecting fragrances for me; he always picks something I absolutely love!) which is just such a gorgeously addictive and I'd probably be halfway through the bottle, if I didn't also have this new cheapie from Verset, to help give me something else to wear at alternating times/different days. This was my first experience at buying a Verset fragrance and this 'Rouge' one has already convinced me to a/ buy a few more bottles of it and stash them away (because things I like always get discontinued) and b/ try out some of the others they have in their range too. Because who isn't always up for something that smells nice, cheers you up and doesn't break the bank? Don't get me wrong, I'm still a TF Lost Cherry girl at heart and will probably be buying both the new cherry flankers as soon as I can get my hands on them, but I'm by no means a perfume snob. I love me a good bargain. Just an all-round satisfying purchase.

I’m not too familiar with Hypnotic Poison, but this is a delightful perfume. A sweet floral vanilla - it’s not too deep or too heady, so it can be sprayed lots. I can’t say that it lasts a lifetime on me but it’s not the worst in my collection and it’s cheap enough not to grudge a respray. All in all, not a bad blind buy for me - I’d rebuy a bigger bottle in the future for sure.

gorgeous perfume spot on dupe for hypnotic poison, very pretty powdery vanilla such a comforting scent and so affordable to you can find these in chemists or on ebay :) does smell a bit like play dough but i and lots of other people like that funnily enough

I noticed that many of the Verset perfumes have been reformulated, most of them have become more diluted and with a more generic smell. This one smells like aromatised black tea on me.

I love this. It’s not a spot of dupe for HP however I think it’s better. To me this is almond and vanilla milk with a hint of jasmine. Just gorgeous, cozy and sweet.

I love this fragrance. To me it's a perfect copy of Dior Hypnotic Poison edt. It lasts long on me too. Amazing and affordable fragrance

I remember having the Christina Aguilera By Night perfume (which I found out later was very similar to Hypnotic Poison) when I was in my teens and loved it. I always found it so sexy, sensual and intoxicating (in the best way possible) Today I went to my local chemist and they sell affordable dupes of high end perfumes and I saw one for Hypnotic Poison called Verset Rouge. I spritzed some on the back of my hand and it instantly took me back. It is strong and not for the faint of heart but I've always loved heady, gourmand nighttime scents. Amber, creamy almond/vanilla with a hint of fruit and lush floral. I really love it.

Rouge is a very good dupe for HP. A lovely soft vanilla smell which lasts, both on the skin and clothing. It is so good that I wouldn't even think about buying the original now, just save money and get this!

this is the perfect dupe for hypnotic poison by dior! so affordable and the smell is so similar. i also think that it's less cloying than the original

Like Andrea has stated, I think this particular verset perfume has been reformulated, its barely lasting an hour on me nor projecting :( I just hope the others have not also been reformulated Edit 22.02.2024 so I sprayed alot on myself around 8pm about (6-7 hours ago) I can still smell it, so I guess you have to spray alot, I'm not sure about silage though

Not bad and I really wanted to like this. To me, it’s a soft spiced caramel scent, but the vanilla is very play-doh-y unfortunately.

It smells like pickles in the opening and then develops into kind of smelling like Hypnotic Poison but much weaker and a lot of playdoh , I don't want to keep this.

Yeah, it is actually better than original, because it's not 100% same and since many people still wear HP, I like Verset more. I can sense something like dry hay tone on the place where HP goes deeper and it's sweeter and that pleases me the most. So it is very very close to original, but it's not HP and that's good. edit: despite of what I wrote above, the drydown is identical to the original. And I think the hay note in the head is actually due to the coconut resemblance ;)

Wow! I bought a little bottle of this for 5 euros and...it's the best thing ever. The only scent I'll ever need, probably. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating but...wow...this is DELICIOUS. Much better than fragrances I paid a lot more for. Btw, I haven't smelled Hypnotic Poison. So, I can't say how close this comes to the real thing. But, this is one of my best blind buys ever. Gorgeous. Gorgeous. Gorgeous.

The perfect Hypnotic Poison dupe, there's no mistaking the scent! The ones I see in the local store have a deep red colour, I think the picture here is outdated.

I hated this fragrance so much. It smells mostly like vanilla, but that vanilla is accompanied by a very medicinal smells.

I bought 15ml of this before buying the original. If I'm honest, I like this one more!

Does anyone know if this has the licorice note of Hypnotic Poison?
