Bois et Cuir

In spite some m@r@ns trying to be snobby, making fun of this beautiful scent, this is a beautiful ,fruity, citrusy, slightly leathery, masculine-leaning perfume. It starts with a fruity citrusy opening very similar to Aventus(for what I see, they share about 7 notes as listed in the fragrantica page, but we all know they are way way more notes than that), but not as rubust, with more apple and citrus nuances and after 30 minutes approximately start to drift apart from the Aventus DNA and I start to pick up some smooth leather and some oud, with some musk and a very masculine vanilla that reminds me another Aventus-like perfume called Electimuss Imperium(EI), but the vanilla is not as pronounced es in EI. Projection and longevity is on the moderate to weak side ,but for $87 for 100ml at Jomashop, this was totally worth it. Presentation(from the box to the bottle)is gorgeous, overall a great deal. On a side note the evolution described above is on my skin, on paper is a complete different fragrance, extremely pleasant, but very bright and fruity for hours, so try it on your skin first. Edit: after about 4 hours the scent disappeared almost completely from my clothes , skin and test strip. The very last note I was able to detect was oud. I’m goin to put it to macérate for a few months to se if longevity improves.

Bois Et Cuir’s opening shares similarities with I.Mirage23, but it's mostly short-lived, and then the scent gravitates towards something else. It becomes green, a little herbal, and creamy. It’s mostly a combination of ivy, apple, bergamot, lavender, moss, and amber. The dry down is creamy woods, with a really soft thin layer of leather with just a touch of vanilla. The reviewer below mentioned a resemblance to Oud Wood, and I have to agree. There’s a hint of that in Bois Et Cuir’s dry down. In fact, this could very well be a cross of the two scents, but with a bit of nuanced greenness. The composition strikes me as very tranquil, chic, and Mediterranean and is overall a delightful offering from the house of Vertus.

i bought the sample set and this is veryyyyy veryy good guys. i mean damn at first spray it gives you some just a little aventus vibes but it's different this is like you smell that apple aromatic fruity freshness some of that ivy green touches i loved it. and then you get like an aftertaste of like tom ford oud wood smell in the back! so nice! this will definitly be in my collection soon! not sure on the performance yet but i think it's pretty good for a freshie starting to love this house more and more.

Second review. I stand by all the things i said the first review but now i owned this and several others from the house for some years. And i must say this is my favorite from vertus it even ranks high in my whole collection. Wich is not an easy thing to achieve. Love it!
