Venus

Venus is such an easy-to-wear but still quite classy floral aldehyde. I simply adore Venus! The aldehyde here isn't too sophiscated(like Chanel No.5) nor sting. When blended so well with citruses the start is optimistic and fresh. Soon it becomes something sweet, confident, sensual, relaxing and somewhat sexy. I can't pick up any distinctive notes, but seems it's a harmonic combination of flowers with a tiny spicy hint. To me, somehow it smells like rose which emits rich nostalgic value (like the one from Paris by YSL) plus those canned cool sweet red bean porridge you can find in Asian grocery shops(by all means, I meant it in a good, delicious, mouth-watering but not sticky food way). Then Venus dries in a linear fashion, it doesn't change too much, but simply added some vanilla-y soothing value in and becomes softer and calming. I guess this is what a 'little black dress' should smell like. If those classic floral aldehydes are too strong for you, try Venus! It's such a pleasant perfume to wear.

This is nuclear. I could practically smell it when I came within 10 feet of it, in its bottle, in the packaging, in my community mailbox. Aldehydes and citrus, a hint of fat. The fat gives way to powder pretty quickly but a creamy quality remains for a while in the form of sweet ylang ylang. It goes back and forth between cream and clean fat and powder. If smelled right up close it’s very clove-y but the spices are subtle if you keep your nose at a reasonable distance from where you sprayed. It does have an older feel to it, but if you’re looking for a creamy, fluffy scent and you keep an open mind, you could do a lot worse than this.

The very sweet citrus-aldehyde opening had me feeling optimistic about how this fragrance might dry down, but in the heart phase Venus reminds me very much of Jil Sander No. 4 (which gives me headaches). The sillage is lovely. I just wish I enjoyed the fragrance more! I believe the spices, clove, and ylang may be a tad too pronounced on me?

GODDESS OF LOVE PERFUME Venus by Vicky Tiel is another of my early transition from girl to woman perfumes along with Le Jardin de Max Factor and Classique by Gaultier. This is a classically formulated floral fragrance for a woman who takes herself seriously, but who wants to be loved, pampered, adored. She is elegant, sophisticated, worldly and very feminine. The opening notes are citruses but this scent is not about fruit nor even a real fruit-floral. It's strictly floral. The flower are: mimosa, iris, violet leaves, ylang-ylang, jasmine, rosebuds. Lily-of-the-valley. Besides this lush garden of flowers (mimosa and ylangylang are the most prominent notes making it a yellow floral) you also get spices and herbs such as basil, clove bud, coriander and nutmeg. The dry down contains warm woody musky ambers, vanilla, benzoin and heliotrope. So what you have here is a floral spicy amber perfume. I coudln't get much vanilla but did see this as being big on amber. It's a warm yellow floral scent along the lines of a more affordable Chanel Mademoiselle. The aldehydes are quite strong so you have to be ok with aldehydes in fragrances. This wears more like a vintage aldehyde floral. It's gorgeous. It's perfect for every day use. It's inoffensive if you don't put on too much of it. It's a spring/summer scent, casual. Very nice. And at such a low price on Amazon.com you get more than you think. It's really such a rich, luxurious floral fragrance with a vintage feel to it. I love it. If you've spent too much on perfumes already and want to buy cheapie but goodies this is high on the list.
