Bare Magnolia

So, I purchased this perfume as an afterthought. A travel spray that I added onto my order from VS. Little did I know I was purchasing a fragrance that I would fall absolutely in love with. It’s delicately sweet, has a light floral creaminess and a fresh encapsulating musk that just does something to me. It’s clean & comforting without being powdery or stuffy. It’s airy, light, elegant & graceful but somehow has really great projection; but it doesn’t assault the senses of those around you. It’s gentle & breezy. The vanilla in this adds the perfect amount of sweetness. Doesn’t smell cheap or synthetic; no plastic, play-doh or chemicals smells here. This is not what I would expect from a typical fragrance from VS. To me, this smells more expensive than what it is. You don’t need many sprays to get the job done with Bare Magnolia. She sticks around for 8-10 hours on my skin. Projection dies down around 6. I have already purchased 2 backup bottles just in case it gets discontinued. I have never done that in my life. If you like musky, sweet, soft white florals that are smooth & clean you must give this a try.🤍 ps. The perfumer behind this is Jacques Huclier. Not sure why Fragrantica doesn’t currently have him credited.

Honestly this was love at first spray for me. I made my way around the VS store trying every single perfume and nothing really stood out. Yes, they were pretty but quite boring. Then I stumbled across this, having sprayed both Bare and Bare Rose which were very underwhelming despite the hype I've heard about them. This is absolutely magical. It's a beautiful delicate magnolia flower with a soft sweetness mixed in to it. I don't know how else to describe it apart from the fact that it smells so feminine. It dries down into this amazing powdery vanilla scent that I couldn't stop going back to my wrist to sniff. Getting gentle wafts of this off my clothing in the air was so lovely too. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a feminine and delicate white floral fragrance who wants to either wear it casually or feel more sensual and alluring. I think men would be a big fan of this on a woman. It has been a long time since I was this impressed by a fragrance. It smells elegant, luxurious, and so enticing.

This fragrance to my nose is a slight creamy musky vanilla floral. When I say creamy, it gives my an Alien Goddess and Maison Martin Margiela Beach Walk coconut creaminess. Those two fragrances have the same perfumer and I couldn't find the perfumer for Bare Magnolia. But they all smell similar to my nose. Not as 'coconut ' heavy as the other two. But my nose is pulling the vibe. Even though there is no coconut note in this fragrance. This fragrance is beautiful, soft, but not a skin scent. I enjoy the note of Magnolia and this fragrance does not disappoint. Still testing it out but so far the longevity and sillage are moderate. It's been about 4hrs and its now a personal space of maybe 2 feet scent bubble. Will have to reapply to get that projection or overspray the first go round. Glad to have added another Bare fragrance. They are fantastic and this one maybe my favorite knocking the OG out of the #1 spot!

Going to cut through some of the anti magnolia reviews here. This is a gorgeous creamy elevated scent. Especially for VS. The projection is superb. It smells expensive. The vanilla softens any perceived harshness that you may expect from a white floral fragrance. It’s definitely for grown women or a person who enjoys sophisticated scents. It’s not dated by any means but I imagine a woman very well dressed strolling through Neimans in Tom Ford. Smells expensive and clean while not being harsh. From VS, this is a great addition to the fragrance offerings!

I like magnolia notes, and love this perfume. The Bare line is one of my fave VS lines overall. This is a pretty, creamy, clean white floral which I love. It isn’t powdery at all. The combination of the magnolia and creaminess ... LOVE. This one wears really well for me - I can still smell it on my skin at the end of an 8-hr workday though the projection is gone by then. The first few hours though it has moderate projection. It’s a great scent for wearing to the office because it’s not overpowering, but pretty enough for date night

This is a pretty girl scent Could be named Pilatesque cuz im for sure gonna wear this to pilates or stretching class You can definitely feel picture perfect magnolia creaminess with sharpness of the musky base I am not big on florals but we used to have a magnolia tree in our garden when i was little so this brings me back to those days Compared to og bare this is less sexy and more girly

I have the fine fragrance mist, not the EDP. It’s very simple, but that’s not a bad thing. Creamy white flowers and soft, sweet musk. Absolutely lovely. Very feminine. Great for layering, but smells good enough to be worn on its own. It’s very clean-smelling, but not soapy/fresh laundry clean... soft white flower petals in spring clean. I like to douse myself in it after a shower.

This is a simple, beautiful fragrance that is so feminine. Perfect for a bride. You get a lovely orange blossom that is there for less than ten min and then you are left with such a creamy, slightly sweet, floral. I get about 5 hrs with moderate projection and then it stays as a skin scent for a few more hrs.

This is beautiful. A feminine floral with the right amount of sweetness. It is going on the shelf near my pink PDM's because that is the vibe of this. The best thing about VS fragrances besides the price is that they make ancillary products so you can layer. VS hit it out of the park with this one.

So very much love this one 💞 I know VS fragrances aren't too complicated. I suppose they're "cheap thrill" but I like them anyway. I think that one might like this scent, even if they don't love floral notes?? I found the floral to be light enough, it seems more perfumey/musky.

This has become one of my favorite layering perfumes. I’ve gotten several compliments on it. I usually spray first as my main perfume and then layer. I’ve tried it with PDM Palentine and loved the combination. I also layer with PDM Vallaya Exclusif, Delina Rose and Merliora.

I have the fragrance mist, and I absolutely love it! The scent reminds me of another favorite of mine, Alien Goddess Intense. Smells a little coconut-like despite it not being a note. I love this general DNA, and simply can't get enough of it! ;)

leaving another review on this after over a year of wearing it. this gets so many compliments, probably my most complimented perfume. it’s way classier than any of the other VS perfumes and the longevity is awesome

This scent never gets old. It’s beautiful, good for layering, once you use it you’ll find yourself coming back for it. VS often has sales and coupons so you can get it at a good price! I love love love it

I love magnolia scents, and this one is delicious. People tell me I smell good. It's honestly so sensual and "loud" that I'm afraid to wear it during the day/in casual settings lol.

I’m not a huge Magnolia fan, but this is gorgeous! The musk and orange blossom notes really really elevate it. This is a beautiful floral fragrance that screams bridal.

A fresh, creamy floral. Beautiful & clean. Vs’s best scent by far.

Beautiful, Floral, feminine, romantic, softly sweet, warm, sensual, elegant, classy, citrusy, bright, fresh, delicate, graceful, dreamy, delicate, powdery, musky, creamy, charming, whimsical, cozy On me this opens floral, fresh, bright, and sweet with the sweet lemony and almost slightly waxy scent of magnolia and the somewhat citrusy sweetness of orange blossom. As it dries down the warm and creamy vanilla and powdery musk become more prominent and take center stage, but the magnolia and orange blossom stay intertwined throughout. I feel like I’m also getting something giving a slightly woody scent, maybe some cedar? This isn’t your typical sweet fruity floral that a lot of people imagine when they think of VS scents. Bare Magnolia is more elevated. It’s sweet, but not at all too sweet, and it’s also non-offensive. I do enjoy the original Bare too, but I prefer this version. I find it very beautiful, feminine, romantic, and sensual. I think it would work well for women of any age, and for the majority of occasions. I think this is best suited for spring, summer, and fall, but that it can work during the winter too. It could even make a nice signature scent. I get great performance with Bare Magnolia. The longevity is really good, it lasts about 7-8 hours on me before becoming just a skin scent. The projection is decent, it radiates out a few feet from me. Fresh, floral, softly sweet, feminine, clean, woody, warm, musky, powdery, romantic, graceful, elegant This is such a beautiful floral scent. The opening is very fresh, clean, floral, and slightly woody with a subtle sweetness. I really pick up on the magnolia, orange blossom, and something giving it a woody scent. As it dries down it becomes more warm with the vanilla and powdery musk becoming more prominent the longer it’s on (about 3-4 hours for me). I get really good performance with Bare Magnolia. It lasts about 6-7 hours on me before becoming a skin scent. The projection is decent, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me. I've always enjoyed a magnolia note, but ever since my friend told me she wanted to find a perfume that smells like magnolia blossoms, I've been on the hunt for a realistic magnolia perfume. Well, Bare Magnolia is not it. It *bare-ly* smells like magnolia; it's 90% Tease Creme Cloud + 10% magnolia. If you love Tease Creme Cloud, you will probably love this. But if you're in search of a more realistic magnolia note, look to Chloe Atelier des Fleurs Magnolia Alba, 4711 Magnolia, Solinotes Magnolia, Love & Nature Sugar Magnolia, or Britney Spears Curious.

It is a really delicious fragrance, but fair warning: this one is sweet as heck!! Which is on par for all VS fragrances, honestly. But you can definitely smell the orange and vanilla in this one. It's a good value for such a comforting and crowd-pleasing fragrance.

Lol.. this isn't a gardenia perfume it's magnolia. No gardenia in sight. What is with the reviews here? Bare Magnolia is gorgeous, fresh, floral, musky with a hint of vanilla! Perfect for a bride or anyone who wants to smell feminine and clean.

Finished my travel size. Clean & pretty, effortless scent. Might buy a full bottle on sale. I prefer this to the valaya dna bc this is softer. Layer with EOS fresh & cozy.

Delicate, graceful--perfect bridal fragrance. The magnolia is feminine and creamy and I love the soft muskiness with a touch of vanilla.

Beautiful white floral that sits somewhere between Alien Goddess and Valaya to my nose.

A subtly sweet and fresh creamy white floral

Starts out rather harsh. You get an initial burst of floral with but the synthetic woods take over for a while. It’s extremely sharp, almost nauseating if you are sensitive to synthetic woods like I am. About an hour in, the wood settles down and the fragrance really starts to shine! Once past the initial harshness this is a sweet, fresh floral with a solar feeling. Warmth is there, but I don’t get creaminess at this phase. It remains sharper but continues to round out as time passes. Reminds me of a cheaper version of Alien Goddess, or a woodier Sol De Janiero 71, without the coconut. Smells better from arms length than up close. The wood stays close to the skin once it calms down (thank god) and so I have had better success with this fragrance on my wrists than up near my neck or chest. The performance just from two sprays on the wrist is very good. Quite decent projection from two little sprays on skin. Maybe 3 foot scent bubble. I’m about two hours in at this point, will update later with more on the drydown.

Very clean, slightly floral feminine skin scent. I prefer this to Bare Rose. Smells like (from BF, who isn't into perfumes): "Middling at best. Smells like mostly nothing. What little there is is cloying."

Exactly like Bare but more dry? I don’t know how to describe, less juicy? If you like a more airy, musky, dry scent, get this over Bare (they are pretty similar tho).

This is pretty! Warm floral scent. I don’t smell magnolia. I smell orange blossom and musk mostly.

I enjoy regular Bare, so I was excited to try this one! The magnolia in the opening is a pretty but standard, feminine magnolia. It smells clean and floral. It is not the sweet or aquatic kind of magnolia. Magnolia is hit or miss to me. Sadly, this was a scrubber to me. At least the magnolia in this didn't turn screechy. After the initial opening, the musk comes in strong. It's like a dense cloud of buttery, soft musk. There is a hint of vanilla now. The musk reminds me of a cross between buttery sandalwood and an ubiquitous BR540-type fuzziness. I find this effect difficult to stomach. The perfume projects from an arm's length away. This magnolia is a chameleon now; it rapidly shifts between sour, soapy, sweet, and even herbal. It still smells creamy, but the notes are balanced. It is a more feminine take on Bare that evokes images of ballet pink, clean linens, a mother's comforting embrace.

I hate this one. It doesn't smell very similar to the original Bare to me, which I enjoy. This smells exactly like a grandma, both in the bottle and on me, and it's very strong. If floral scents don't work well with your chemistry, you would do better to avoid this one.

Well this smells too much like orange blossom on me rather than magnolia and the overload of orange blossom smells too green and camphor-like or salty, and in this case it smells mostly like the first, very green camphor-like and only slightly salty. The whole scent in that aspect reminds me a bit of Tropidelic by BBW since the ylang-ylang there gives that orange blossom solar camphor vibe, but here it's not as camphor-like, it's very nice. MK Super Gorgeous is using orange blossom and ylang ylang for that solar floral effect but it's too much there, while here it's comforting like warm sun rays on your face. It is also similar to Sam Edelman's Signature, just like Bare Rose is, but Bare Rose is identical to Edelman's due to the salty unripe pear while Bare Magnolia just shares the sweet solar orange blossom effect of Edelman's - from the mimosa there. Edelman's is sweet solar and has green pear-like salty notes and it's more green than this one. Bare Magnolia opens solar sweet somewhat green, metallic and salty like orange blossom is, but the magnolia makes it kinda sour on me at the drydown and fresher progressively while the end result, later in the drydown, is creamy from the orange blossom. The heart is orange blossom in this to me, and the magnolia is just a fresh dewy kinda sour accord. I love the later drydown when it becomes more creamy. Projection is phenomenal on me. I also tested it next to Bombshell escape and they smelled pretty similar, as Bombshell Escape has an intense green vein with all its green notes almost like orange blossom, a bit more aquatic and a lot sweeter from the guava. Bare Magnolia is more floral, slightly citrusy and heavy on the metallic solar orange blossom. I detect orange blossom in perfumes quicker than any other note and usually it's obnoxious to me with a few exceptions where I can tolerate it. I can tolerate it here. I consider it same league as Tropidelic since the ylang ylang is solar and lends that orange blossom type of green smell that is slightly metallic and camphor-like on my skin due to my chemistry. Bare Magnolia is more wearable than Tropidelic and more youthful, slightly citrusy too, lighter more ethereal from the magnolia, while Tropidelic has that intoxicating rich gardenia-like opening from the passion flower and then it becomes perfumey, solar and green. Sikinos by Korres is in the same green slightly citrusy solar and floral league imo. The og Bare turns too sour on me, similar to BBW Confetti Daydream/Escada Fiesta Carioca, and even though it smelled better on me at first, in the end Bare Magnolia performed better overall. This and Bare Rose are my favorite ones. Both can be wedding day perfumes due to how ethereal and pure they are.

Really disappointed in this one. I didn't try it on my skin in VS and purchased it online. On my skin, there is no sweetness from any floral notes. It's dry and woody, and not in a creamy, natural way. The woodiness is like that of pickling spices. Actually, there is something "pickle-esqe" in this perfume to me. I was wanting a fresh, crisp floral, similar to a peony musk but with magnolia and woods. The vanilla is so faint, I can't really detect it. Orange blossom? Where? I get zero OB and I KNOW OB! I have like 9 OB fragrances ranging from Neroli Blanc Intense, Reckless, LDBS, Safanad, O'Feminen. I get the magnolia WOOD and musk and that's it. This needs more magnolia petals, more vanilla, more OB, and a sandalwood, or if they're going to go that route, actually just take the vanilla out and add sandalwood. I got it for $41 with a sale and coupon code so I don't even think I could trade it in for Bombshell, which I love. I want to trade it for Bare or Bombshell, both my lotion and 50mL. Also, VS-y'all need to work on fragrance longevity. IDK if they do that on purpose so you have to buy the set of the lotion, body spray, and perfume in order to get some payoff, but probably. I have an idea for a special limited release-how about you release a perfume of the original Very Sexy and Heavenly. Those were both AMAZING fragrances with excellent longevity. I would pay $120-150 for 50mL of both. If it's a $$ thing, just raise the prices and make better quality perfumes because the actual scents are very good for most, but the longevity is atrocious. Also, what you did to VERY SEXY and HEAVENLY is appalling. Those are nowhere near the caliber they were in the 2000's.

This is a very familiar scent but I can't exactly put my finger on the specific perfume it smells like. I think it smells a little bit like a lot of designer scents that are out at the moment. Very very very musky. My first impression was that I'm surprised it's a VS perfume. I could really imagine this being a designer perfume that costs a lot more. It's also not the typical young and flirty scent that I would associate with VS, this is definitely more mature and sophisticated. Scents are ageless of course, but I don't see 20-somethings and teens as the target market for this type of scent. It definitely skews older. And that's something I've heard about the Bare line in general, and I'm also super impressed with Bare Sueded Vanilla. As for magnolia, I really do get that magnolia note, along with the musk. But it's mostly musk. And I really don't detect the orange blossom or vanilla. Not a bad scent, it's just not my typical scent profile. But if you like musky white floral scents then I would recommend it.

The body spray and EDP seem pretty different. I grabbed the EDP. The opening is very reminiscent of Alien Goddess. I would say the scent profile is quite similar. It falls into that solar, ozonic white floral category. The listed “musk” note is a bit confusing to me. It reads more like a soft suede than a traditional musk. I am also not really picking up much vanilla. It leans strongly floral overall. There is a slight citrus lift, likely the VS interpretation of “orange blossom,” but the white florals themselves feel pretty non-descript. That said, it is still pleasant. It would make a nice floral for summer wear, but the lasting power is essentially nonexistent, at least in the EDP version. It’s a decent price, I think it’s worth buying the travel spray to try out. Or seeing if you can adjust longevity by layering it with the lotion.

I really like this scent, but only in the lotion and body mist. I get a buttery, almost coconutty magnolia, slightly fruity orange blossom, and a tiny bit of vanilla to soften it all up. It smells like Gucci Bloom EDT with a dash of vanilla added. Clean, feminine, and seductive in a pure and sophisticated way. Very bridal-coded. My husband even perked up when I sprayed it on, and he doesn't usually react to my fragrances! The perfume, on the other hand, smells completely different to my nose and does not mix well with my skin chemistry. It becomes a sharp, synthetic mess that has lost all of its beautiful nuances.

This doesn’t smell like Valaya Exclusif to my nose, but I would layer it with a body oil or perfume oil with Valaya Exclusif dna( or Infinite Radiance from Bath& Body Works)! I think layering it with actual Valaya Exclusif’s edp would overpower it. This is such a gorgeous musky white floral with the sandalwood warmth in the base that the original Bare dna carries. I’m coming to the realization that Bare might be my favorite line because I have the original, this , and Sueded vanilla and love all 3. Today I’m wearing it with Bubble Bath for a clean soft scent on a cozy Sunday.

Actually quite pretty but very soft and WILL not last you long. Airy slightly musky warm magnolia vibe that settles down into a faint vanilla natural skin type scent after a bit. The least harsh of the bare line I think so if you’re sensitive to plasticky scents or anything sharp you should give this one a try, again like all VS perfume its not worth its price so if youre looking for a semi generic magnolia/ vanilla skin type scent to wear to work or casually I suggest you get a good deal for this or wait till its on sale.

Loving it more than when I bought it. Let it sit a month, was gonna sell but tried it again and obsessed. Layers really well with milk bbw mist and body cream. I ordered the body milk buy 2 get 1 free with 10 dollars off! So 3 with 2 other items for 27 dollars. So ill layer that with the perfume. I only got the 1.7 oz but I would buy again. I love all the bare perfumes. I agree with the other poster saying it smells like creme cloud with original bare. I like it better than tease creme cloud.

One of my signature scents! It projects very well and lasts long. By the end of a 12+ hour shift, ppl can still smell it on me. I get sooooo many compliments on it. It is an uncomplicated, non-offensive scent. At first it is more floral, but after a couple hours of wear, the vanilla note comes through more. Not one of my favorite scents just bc I like having more going on in my fragrance, but for the price and the strength of it, I highly recommend.

I tried this because I have Gucci's Gorgeous Magnolia and really like it. I got my hands on the travel spray during their scent event sale. It's the Bare DNA + a blast of Magnolia. I don't get any vanilla or orange blossom on my skin. It's a bright scent for their older customers, which I appreciate. If you associate magnolia with southern grandmothers, don't worry—it's for an older woman, but it doesn't give grandma!

The notes are orange flower, magnolia WOOD, and vanilla musk. It didn’t list magnolia flowers so it should be a woody, musky, sweet vanilla orange blossom fragrance. Guess I’ll have to go try it out myself in store! I wish it did have magnolia flowers in it because I love magnolias and I don’t need another OB scent. I counted 9 in my collection already. But I love the bridal vibe and feel.

This is a step down from the OG Bare and even Bare Rose, it’s substantially weaker. It retains some of the DNA but it’s nowhere as strong as my OG bare. Bare rose pulls like a rosey and woody baccarat on me, while the OG is a chalky woody sweet Violet. This one doesn’t have the chalkiness or the intensity and smells like a watered down mature version of the og.

Reminds me of a mix between the OG Bare and Tease Crème Cloud. When I first smelled this I smelled absolutely nothing. I was nose blind to it. But now smelling it again a year later, this is what comes to mind. Woods are definitely present, although the notes don’t say so. This is a very woody, arid / dry, floral.
