Bare Rose

This scent is amazing! I have been buying a lot of perfumes lately, getting back into what used to be a big hobby for me. This is the only fragrance I've tried from the "Bare" line, and I really just bought it in the travel sized bottle to go with another fragrance I was buying from the same seller. I was hoping to like it as maybe a once in a while rose scent, but I was not expecting to love it as much as I do! Rose is a tricky note. Sometimes it can be too screechy, astringent, or cloying. Every rose-centered fragrance I've tried of late has one of those issues, except this one. It's so beautifully blended that I have a hard time differentiating the notes. First impression is a fruity, maybe even ambery rose. I don't get the pear specifically, which is a good thing in my opinion. It's not sneeze or headache inducing as some fruity florals tend to be, and there is nothing "grandma" about it. It's quiet enough for a bedtime fragrance and pretty enough as an everyday fragrance. The dry down is my absolute favorite part, though! I had never encountered this "dreamwood" note before, but it's incredible! Soft, snuggly, woodsy, but not the slightest hint of pickle, which is often my issue with sandalwood. I'm sure the musk note is contributing to the snuggly impression, as well. Happily, it lasts quite a while on me. This is only my second time wearing it, but I'm already thinking it's full bottle worthy!

I’m in love with this fragrance. I’ve been wearing it for the last week and I smell awesome. It projected well but my husband (very sensitive to scents) was never annoyed by it. The scent lasts 6-8+ hours even in the heat, especially on clothes. It’s a sparkling sweet smell with a crisp (briefly too sharp) cedar note. I’m not sure I’d call the sweetness pear or rose, but it is feminine, delicate and sensual. The cedar note calms down and a subtle, sweet, woody sandalwood joins it giving a light powdery smoothness. The woody notes make this possibly a unisex scent but I found it very feminine. I would not call this a rose heavy scent but I do get (or imagine) a rose note that lingers behind it all, super feminine and subtly sexy. It evolves and settles into my skin, it is casual enough I wore it camping but sexy enough I’d wear it on a date. I also own the original Bare but this is nothing like that; Bare was fruity and kinda boring, girly and predictable. This is waaaay better juju.

This is my go-to perfume. It’s not one that gets you complimented unless someone is really all up on you. But it’s really inoffensive, very pretty, very appropriate for daily wear at work. That pear at the beginning keeps this from being a grandma floral for sure. I normally prefer super powdery grandma florals but this made me more open minded about ways to let a floral shine. It’s juicy and youthful without being juvenile. Plus pretty affordable. It lasted 12 hours on me when layered with my lightly rose scented moisturiser, but again, it stays close to the skin. Side note: the complementary lotion doesn’t smell anything like the perfume. It’s a pretty scent and they can certainly layer well but they are not the same.

Agreed on the "just what it does on the tin" and "good dumb reach" reviews. This is a light, transparent, ever-so-slightly green and woody rose. It is a full rose in its way while remaining polite. It settles down to a pleasant and warm skin scent in the ambery-sandalwoody family, though it is still very gentle. It lasts a pretty long time, as well. Victoria's Secret makes a lot of perfumes at a low price point, so when one actually works, it is excellent value for the money. This is for sure the best they've come up with in several years, and I'll be buying a full bottle. When I step away from the more incense-heavy scents I usually favor, this will be a great pick-me-up for years to come!

Initial spray on my skin, I get an almost Santal 33-esque vibe, a bit sharp, tart, woody-musky, slightly pickle-ish. It's soothed by the watery gentle rose so I don't dislike it how I do Santal 33 adjacent scents. Then the sharp pickle fades out and it's a soft woody rose. It gets better and better from there and at times I get wafts and remember it's me smelling so nice. A serious and confident femme scent as opposed to something dainty and curious. They don't smell alike, but if Bombshell is feminine-fun, Bare Rose is feminine-chill. Laid-back, present, knows she's worth the attention, but not asking for it....just sitting back and receiving it.

Beautiful easy reach scent. Rose is at the forefront but it’s very fresh and young. The pear lightly sweetens and tarts it and the woods really kick in on the dry down. The final stage is most addicting: creamy (but not lactonic-more like natural coconut) floral and sweet/musky There is a phase in the early part of this that leans shampoo frag to me, but the dry down changes that. Update: this ended up being my wedding scent for a ceremony at noon in 70 degree weather :) Got lots of compliments! It picks up beautifully in the wind. I’ve started to notice something smells a little sparkling too..like rosé wine, it’s cute 🥂

This really reminds me of Le Labo’ as Santos 33 with the woodiness, but I love that instead of being purely wood it also has a tangy, bright, softness to it lent by the pear. I am not usually into rose fragrances but I literally went back to the mall today after test spraying this on my wrist and loving it all day. It’s not sweet. It’s clean, but present. It feels rich and interesting without feeling too old. It makes me feel perfectly sexy and warm without gourmand or vanilla notes. If you like woodiness, musk, and some fruit and greenery to spice it up, definitely try it in the store.

Okay, Victoria's fr**king Secret. Ya got me. You're fragrances are always too cloyingly sweet, a poor knockoff of something better, or too much like your fraternal brother Bath & Body Works. 🤮 I'd given up. But this... is good. Sweet bosc pear and fresh roses, then cedar, powder, and musk on the dry down. If you like rose adjacents, this doesn't s*ck. Definitely a spring, daytime fragrance, but I'd say it's appropriate for pretty much anytime. I literally bought an extra bottle. I don't trust later batches of this.

I thought Bare was such a cosy fragrance when it first came out, easily one of my favorite winter / fall fragrances. When I heard about this flanker, I was apprehensive. It’s a like / dislike relationship with Rose for me. I finally got around to smelling this and This is such a BEAUTIFUL fragrance!! I had put the OG Bare on such a high pedestal and I wouldn’t think a flanker can knock it off for me. Love at first sniff. The rose and wood notes are blended exceptionally well. Definitely an all season fragrance.

This is lovely. Doesn’t right off remind me of any one perfume out there. It’s a nice simple sweet rose. The rose is paired well with the pear - and the woody base. That’s about all that ties it to the original “bare” is that sweet woody vibe. This however has a really great longevity on skin and clothes 6 hours skin 10+ clothes. Bare only did about 3-5 skin and 6-7 on clothes. A nice flanker for a line that seems to be much more unisex and mature from VSBEAUTY.

I love this!!! Its a very sensual fragrance....meant to be a skin scent. I only wear this when... wink wink...It is musky and fresh on skin and dries down to a slightly sweet pear on clothes. It is sophisticated...it can also be worn as a signature scent. I think its a bit over-priced at 80 dollars but VS has great deals on their perfume and mists. I own the travel roll-on, body mist and lotion. I'll purchase the 3.4 oz the next time they have a bare combo deal.

Love this one. It’s one of the most feminine perfumes I’ve had. Rose, but not dusty. Youthful but not immature, and like a sweet rose water but not quite. I’m guessing that’s the pear note. Bare Rose is a unique and very beautiful rose perfume. It’s the only one in VS’s Bare collection I like. 🍐 🌹✨ Surprisingly, I don’t get much of the woodsy notes on me. Just sweet, dreamy roses. Lasts all day on me and has good projection.

Every time I wear this my boyfriend absolutely loves it he says this is such a you perfume, he always tells me soft florals suit me well and he is not wrong at all lol.. I love this soft sweet floral with some warmth to it, I love rose fragrances so I wasn’t disappointed when I first smelt this I really enjoy wearing this, it’s not extremely heavy on the rose its blended well in my opinion. It’s very uplifting to me.

Wow! First second of smelling it on the tester after letting it dry and BINGO! I'm back in Poland, year 2007, a teenage girl, watching and smelling for hours almost empty, beautiful bottle of Angel Caprice de Star from Mugler, received from an aunt from America. Very innocent scent, pure with a sexy and mature twist found in a charming, mysterious rose performance. What a great, perfectly blended scent!

A mouthwatering pear with a hint of rose, combined with a woodsy/musky base. A clean skin scent without being too soapy. Spring vibes. It doesn’t project far, but it lasts ALL DAY! I put this on in the morning and caught whiffs of it until the end of the work day. Sometimes I kept thinking I was smelling fig. @Ilana mentioned she layered with Nebras, and this is an AMAZING combination.

I love when a fragrance is exactly what the name tells you. This is the original Bare fragrance with rose added. It's woodsy, rosy, fruity, and creamy, and synthetic but not in a bad way - kind of like a really expensive body lotion. It's nothing groundbreaking but I like it quite a lot.

I’m kind of obsessed with this one. This is not your typical VS perfume at all. It’s a fresh, aquatic rose that smells quite unique. Aquatic scents are often some of my least favorites, but this is an exception. It’s so good, especially for the price point.

I love love LOVE this!!! The pear and rose reminds me of a more fruity La Belle. The pear is crisp and sweet and the rose is dry and earthy. Sandalwood is reminiscent of the original bare and ties the entire fragrance together. Wish it lasted longer.

This is absolutely stunning and very sexy Smells so fresh clean and feminine but there’s a comforting almost tea-like note to it, can’t figure it out, very strong staying power. Very unique scent. This wins over the regular Bare by VS.

Somehow mine has developed that pickle juice sandalwood note. It gives Santal 33 with rose and I'm not much of a fan anymore. I need to try it again in store to make sure its not just my bottle. I've had it for about 3 years now.

Beautiful!!! Smells like a MILF. Not too girlish but still playful. Blends beautifully into my skin. The rose is honestly a little light IMO. It's more of a fresh/deep rose rather than a soapy powdery one. Very hot yoga mom.

This is natural but gorgeous! I especially like the opening scent! at first it smell fresh and not too sweet pears. but after a bit of time it's too many woody. I think It's mature and feminine, i kinda like it.

a dewy sensual rose that makes me go carnal. when i found it two years ago, i couldn't get enough. i like to wear it to bed. it makes my skin smell clean, sweet, dewy, and yummy it's a flower i want to eat

This is gorgeous! A very modern, understated rose. I am going to wait for Victoria’s Secret to have a buy one get one deal on this, and I’m going to stock up!💜

I just can't recall it... but it smelled similar to my ME or paco rabanne olympia line. But I love it! Smelled it on a VS store 1st before buying full bottle.

This is indeed a dream, the rose is aromatherapy level. I have the lotion and I feel so relaxed from the scent. Victoria's Secret impressed me with this one.

This has been in my rotation for about a year now and i never get sick of it. It’s just soo good. It reminds me of dylan purple or god is a woman

I love the scent of Bare Rose, it is absolutely beautiful and the dry down is so good, but the performance is poor (even when oversprayed).

my sister and mom wear this fragance. It’s really good, feminine, smells kinda sweet but floral, they get lots of compliments.

I love this one for summer. The musk balances out the sweetness of the rose and gives it more depth.

This dreamwood note in the drydown is really out of this world beautiful.

You know how banana-scented things smell? Yeah. That’s Bare Rose.

I finally bought Bare Rose after trying the whole line, this by far is my favorite out of the entire collection, I don’t even like rose scents but the pear takes this to a whole new level. This is the only one that sort of strays from the original Bare DNA. It’s not woody or citrusy or overly floral, (doesn’t tinge the nose). When first sprayed, it smells familiar. Opens with a juicy pear, (almost like a peach ring but PEAR), which I honestly think really elevates the rose. It actually softens the rose and blends so beautifully. You get a lot of the dewy freshness from the rose. But not an actual fragrant rose note. Once dried down the woods and musk tie it all in and balance the sweetness from the pear, but don’t be mistaken, this is no where near as woody as sueded vanilla or original bare. This fragrance is playful, but not immature. It’s perfect for work, school, date night, date day, etc.. It’s fresh, clean, fruity, juicy, soft, airy and so well blended. It’s so non-offensive I’m in love with it. Such an easy every day grab. I’m normally a vanilla girl and was kinda sad to not see a gourmand note in here because I truly do think a tonka or oud or cashmere would work so well with the pear and rose. But honestly, this fragrance is so good by itself it doesn’t NEED the gourmand factor. This fragrance does in fact leave a scent trail and I’m light handed with the sprays! I would say the longevity is a good 4-6 hours on skin for me. Sometimes I can still smell it after a shower, I think it would smell great with tree hut moroccan rose lotion! Overall I definitely recommend this and would definitely repurchase once I run out. Even my asthmatic husband likes this scent! If you’re on the edge about it buy the travel size!!

LITTLE BLOOM ON THE BOUQUET. If I had to describe this scent it would be: The smallest rosette in the bunch. Non-offensive and non-enchanting. It is a great scent to layer with as I believe the pear note in this gives any combo a certain sweetness. No heavy grandma roses here. It has a green rose bloom aroma to it. Imagine a rose bloom that is about to open up and you can begin to smell the aroma that is developing. I used this heavily to layer with my citrus, vanilla, and other rose base fragrances. My favorite was when I layered it with anything citrus, it gave it a different personality. On its own it is nothing to write home about as I truly believe this was made as a mixing medium...and I'm not mad at it. Sometimes, those little blooms on the bouquet get overlooked but they are last ones to remain standing.

It looks like this time VS has released something for those who look for something more classy and elegant. I normally don't gravitate towards rose in perfumes. I am actually often wary of it. However, I like this scent. It is a light, transparent and clean fragrance. Certainly a woody / floral/ rose category. The rose here is softened, warmed and sweetened by pear and Dreamwood. It gets nicer as it dries down. Is it something novel and groundbreaking? No, but it's pleasant. It can be worn to the office. It has a classy vibe. Some may call it mature but not in a pejorative sense. It has more put-together, feminine vibe. I can picture people of any age wearing it. I prefer this scent over the original Bare. I also find the EDP too strong for me and prefer the body mist. The scent would be fabulous in a body wash.

This is very bright and fruity floral on the top. It’s juicy pear and fresh rose that I wish lasted it a little longer. Within an hour or two it dries down into a creamy woody smell that’s very similar to the original Bare fragrance to me. Not unpleasant but not what you smell if you sniff the bottle or spray in store. I think this is an easy crowd-pleasing scent that could work for just about any occasion.

I used up my travel size and will probably get another. This is a great scent for the office. Light, musky, slightly floral and woody. Not much projection. Perfect daytime scent when you want something intimate that isn’t a generic freshie. The rose and powder notes might not be for everyone; try it before you buy.

soft scent that is rich and perfect for day use.. This is a nice summer/spring smell since usually most of them are just citrus smelling. I enjoy wearing it, and every minute I sniff it on my body I think to myself "OH I SMELL GOOD" this combines a perfect balance between fresh and sweet. 8.5/10

The prettiest musky, sweet rose & pear I have ever tried. Very inviting & sexy. Incredible lasting power & sillage on me and the compliments with this are just amazing. The perfect sexy & easy cheapy. Smells expensive than the actual price.

This is the first I have tried from the bare line. I only bought the travel size. Its ok. Its nice but not interested in buying a larger bottle. I will be trying travel sizes of other bares to see which I like.

Soft jammy synthetic rose, prickly pear fragrance. Gives a nice cozy feel my favourite grab-n-go at Victoria’s Secret. Sadly, like most VS perfumes, doesn’t last long.

Very pretty and sweet scent. Makes me think of a ballerina. 🩰 Great value!!

I’ve been waffling on this one since I sprayed it on earlier today. A somewhat harsh, bright, fruity opening, which settles into a nice, fluffy floral. It’s not 100% rose ... it’s mixed with a fluffy, sweet floral .. mimosa maybe? It settles into the familiar “Bare” musky sandalwood with an unwelcome hint of something green ... vetiver? moss? I guess the Dreamwood is translating oddly on my skin. Bare and Bare Rose are sisters, but they’re very different. Bare is a cool girl who lives by the “clean girl” aesthetic, wears neutrals almost exclusively, and loves her espressos. Bare Rose is cool, too, but in softer way .. She loves her “boho chic” home decor (macrame wall hangings and all), millennial pink, and creamy lattes. Overall, I’m not sold, but I could see this growing on me with continued wear. Maybe I’ll pick up a rollerball one day ..

I smelled this on a lady who walked by me in a parking garage. I chased her down to ask what in the world she had on. It was Bare Rose! On her, it smelled like a dream. On me, it's nice enough. Perfumes that fall under the "Bare" line have a specific DNA that I pick up. With the exception of Bare Victoria's Secret, the OG, the flankers have a common accord: Musky. With that said, I think the flankers (and maybe the OG, too) share "Bare" aromachemicals. It can get cloying, but the "vanilla" or "rose" or "magnolia" is quite beautiful, so this is one I'm torn about. I love the main note here--the rose--but I don't enjoy the part of the fragrance that cloys.

Smells like pear and synthetic rose, nothing too sophisticated. I don't love it but it's pleasant. Warning though to not get the travel size samples from Victoria's Secret, their atomizers barely spritz any perfume and you have to pump it several times to get a little out, and one of mine broke off!

I’m so disappointed. I have tried and tried to get past the cedar. The rose appears on opening and then it dries down to cedar beast mode. Passed it on to a friend.

Warm, heady, mature skin scent. Very floral and cozy. Easy to love and well blended, but a bit overhyped and not my style.

OK. Very mature. I wouldn’t suggest it for a younger crowd.

Something very odd is happening on my skin with Bare Rose. Maybe it's a weird interaction between the musk and wood accords, but there's a very strong base of popcorn! It's almost all I smell. Some people are saying pickles and while I don't smell that, I think it must be the same thing, that buttery smell. Even on the blotter, the rose is disappointingly absent, and it smells pretty screechy and fake. Smells like: Your girlfriend laying her head on your shoulder at the movie theater. Update: An hour later and this absolutely smells like pickles. I don't like it!!

If you like very woody feminine perfumes, this one is for you! It has rose but it is not sweet. The wood notes dominate. Dreamwood is the most prominent and kind of cozy. Cedar adds that deep, almost masculine feeling. This is a romantic perfume without feeling girly. It's bold but not overpowering. It is not my style but I am not a rose person. I like fresh more than spicy or deep. I can tell it is a Bare flanker. Definitely less sweet than Bare and not as cloying. It smells better on skin than on paper.
