Bare Sueded Vanilla

Sweet, warm, powdery, creamy, woody, warm spicy, balsamic, musky, feminine, sensual, seductive, sexy, flirty, chic, charming, whimsical, dreamy, delightful, tempting, alluring, inviting, cozy, comforting On me this is a sexy and warm powdery vanilla that opens with warm spicy saffron and woody and creamy sandalwood. As it dries down the powdery vanilla, creamy milk, and aromatic suede intertwine with the saffron and sandalwood. This feels feminine to me, and like it will suit women of any age (I’m not getting anything juvenile from it like some of the VS scents). It seems suitable for all occasions from casual, to work and/or school, to date nights. This does remind me of a few different vanillas like Phlur Vanilla Skin, SDJ 59, Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Vanilla Nude, Donna Karen Cashmere & Vanilla Essence, VS Bare Vanilla, BBW Wicked Vanilla Woods, and BBW Snowflakes & Cashmere. I actually own all of them, so I don’t think I’ll find them different enough to warrant having them all in my collection, but they also have some definite similarities to greater or lesser degrees. Gorgeous, sweet, comforting, winter, fall/autumn. It’s not your typical vanilla scent; there’s an unusualness that makes the nose curious e.g. the sharp suede/leather note comes across as mint/liquorice (to me) and I get a kind of essential oil vibe if that makes sense? Unfortunately though, I don’t get the lactonic note that everyone else does - only playdough. Opening is not the best but when it’s settled? yummiest thing EVER! It smells EXACTLY like Phlur’s “Vanilla Skin” i.e. creamy comforting sweet yet sharp minty vanillas. You DEFINITELY don’t need both. However, there are some subtle differences to consider e.g. the initial alcohol in BSV is more apparent so takes longer to go, BSV starts mintier/fresher/greener yet finishes warmer and sweeter than VS, BSV is more complex - it takes you on a journey that improves as time goes on while VS stays the same, BSV is more screechy, BSV is more potent and has better longevity whilst VS fades away into the skin. Ultimately, I prefer the opening of VS and the settled smell of BSV (by FAR). With the price point, I’d say BSV is more worth it. It also kinda smells like the Vanilla & Dreamy body mist (just warmer + more interesting) so would be great layered!

When I first sampled this, I wasn’t blown away. My future husband, on the other hand, really liked it, so I sprayed it on him since I already had too many scents on myself. We were in Victoria’s Secret testing everything, and about an hour later I could not stop sniffing his wrist. I became completely obsessed. So for my birthday, he surprised me with a bottle, and honestly, it deserves all the hype. This perfume is absolutely heavenly. It’s sweet, but not tooth-achingly so. It’s sexy while still feeling soft and innocent, creamy and enchanting in a way that feels dangerously attractive. This is what sirens smell like. It completely captivated me. I’ve had it for a month and I’ve genuinely had to force myself to wear other perfumes because I just keep reaching for this one. I found Vanilla Skin a bit too spicy for my taste and ended up selling it, but this one has firmly snuck into my top five. It works for any occasion, but it is especially beautiful in cooler weather. I can smell it on my clothes for days. Perfect, ethereal, and addictive. 10 out of 10 from both me and my fiancé. I would repurchase this a million times over.

A beautiful and timeless vanilla fragrance that I believe will always remain relevant specially given the huge fan base that vanilla-based scents have. It is soft and versatile enough for year-round wear in my opinion, it doesn't become cloying or overwhelming even in warmer weather. As someone who generally isn't drawn to vanilla or gourmand fragrances, I did find it slightly heavy at times, but that may just be me because this was one of my first experiences with a vanilla-forward perfume. It's cozy, comforting, and simply makes you feel good which is what a perfume should be about. The projection is great and I can easily detect it on myself for at least 4 hours. While the vanilla and sandalwood do provide a gentle sweetness of course, the saffron and suede balance everything very smoothly preventing it from becoming overbearing and just making it the perfect grown-up vanilla. The milk note too is nicely done, in fact it is very prominent and I can genuinely pick up each of the listed notes if you can't tell. You really can't go wrong with this! undoubtedly a crowd-pleaser.

Personally I dont find this similar to sol de janeiro 59, as I Honestly cant even smell that one(it smells like nothing). But this one is very Woody, which almost gives a “spicy” vibe i guess. It smells very nice, not the best fragrance i own, but I could see myself repurchasing this in the future, which is Big for me as I have so many perfumes in my collection, and have decluttered so many within the last year. So a strong like for me. The fragrance Itself isnt a strong projector. So of you want people to be able to smell you from afar I wouldnt say this is the one for you. On the other hand it smells so good when you spray it in the air/on you. And my boyfriend liked it (and he is super picky). On the other hand this is the perfect “you smell so good without trying” type of scent in my opinion. Like it actually does give a clean girl Vanilla, without it being the versache bright crystal/la belle/libre/carolina herrera/delina/flora etc. typical generic vibe. Also doesnt smell like laundry detergent/musky like the perfumes from clean Either.
