Bombshell Escape

I've been trying a lot of guava based fragrances lately. Although they smell great, they often feel as if they are missing something. That is until I found VS Bombshell Escape. The green palm grounds the guava and makes the perfume feel complete. I tried @Rachael304's layering combo suggestions and they really do elevate those two fragrances to something I would want to wear daily. By itself, the Bombshell Escape smells like watery tropical florals that mixed with a little guava juice and lots of melon rinds. I don't know what palm typically smells like, but it comes across as green, juicy and softy sweet much like a melon rind in this fragrance. The peony is blended with the palm and no longer smell like peony to me. The guava is the only scent I recognize that matches the notes listen. However, the guava becomes too faint too soon. When I layer it with something like Wonderland Peony or Guava Sorbet, they blend effortlessly with the Bombshell Escape. The Guava layered seems to sparkle about the green base. As others have stated, this seems to bloom in hot weather. Indoors with lots of AC can make this perfume smell a little too green when worn alone. It will still be nice. Regardless, it a fresh and green take on a tropical summer fragrance. I'm glad to have something that smells tropical without smelling like coconut, heavy white florals or the infamous luxury sunscreen smell. I just hate that it is discontinued.

The original Bombshell is not my favorite so I was hesitant to try this. I got the travel spray and the first time I wore this, I immediately stopped everything I was doing and went to VS and purchased a full bottle. I appreciate that this is a summer scent that is not sunscreen or coconut forward. It is fruity and green without being overly sweet. The guava is juicy, the palm is fresh, and the peony is very feminine. This was easy to layer with. I tried it with Sol De Janeiro 48 and got a guava bomb. I might have smelled like a bachelorette party in Destin Florida but I loved it. I also paired it with Floral Street Wonderland Peony and that combo was something a sophisticate grown woman would wear, and not what I would expect from a VS perfume. There is something vaguely reminiscent of the original bombshell in the dry down but it’s not prominent. If you hate the OG Bombshell, I think Escape is still worth a try. This scent blooms in high heat. The longevity is good, but the silage on a hot day is magical. I did try this on a cold day and it smelled good, it just was not as special 8/10. The only reason I do not rate it higher is because there is a very limited season to wear this.

This was in the official store in my place early January!! I really want to buy it but unfortunately I brought money only enough to eat and not to shop, especially if it means shopping at Victoria's Secret. Ever since I see it in Fragrantica, I knew I want to buy it but I couldnt, barely anyone in my place sell this bottle which made me really frustrated. But if I ever got to buy this, might be because I already got money and the store still has it on the counter, or I found someone that sells it, or I found a boyfriend and he bought it for me (which is unlikely, in a way that Im just too picky). But overall, yes it smells a little like watermelon than guava, honest. Palm leaves? Not quite. Peony? Yes, I mean Victoria's Secret is good when it comes to the peony scent.

One of my favorite perfumes since I bought it, I can’t believe it’s discontinued in the US. The fragrance is refreshing. When I was testing all the VS Bombshell bottles that were sitting in the store, none particularly caught my fancy until by chance I saw this bottle of Escape tucked in the corner, I knew I had to buy it. I particularly disliked the original Bombshell and none of the others stood out to me; just this one. Gosh how I wish they’d bring it back, as at the time I only had the financial capabilities of the smaller bottle

On my skin this smells almost identical to Hollister California Wave but slightly sweeter with an almost coconut dry down but barely. Absolutely love it though and I’m considering buying it even though I own California Wave which I also love so much

Palm Sunday at church while the fresh breeze blows in from the nearby lake. This is a fresh, feminine, utterly fantastic sprint summer scent. The green fresh notes come forward with a tropical hint that’s finally not coconut.

Actually divine!!! My ideal tropical scent, smells like walking around the Santa Monica mansions. Pairs really nicely with Tropidelic from B&BW

I love how easy going this scent is. This is my first perfume from VS and I think it's perfect for my tastes. I can't deal with overly cloying perfumes, and I have to make sure any perfume I wear won't give me a migraine. This one did not trigger a migraine. I only did one spray to test it out and I was very impressed. The guava off the jump is stunningly juicy. Then it dissipates to the green and crisp palm leaf. I didn't get a whole lot of the peony, maybe just a whisper of it. But it lasted on my skin for a very long time. While I enjoyed it a lot, i think it would have been nice to have the guava throughout the notes instead of just on the top. I think i needed just a tad more besides the palm leaf at the end. But this is a very soft and clean, fresh, sweet scent without being inoffensive. I will keep playing with it and maybe layering it with something else, but by itself i am very impressed. And I love the scene profile. It's perfect for spring and summer in these disgustingly hot months. If you live in a dry heat state, this is perfect. I live in a humid heat state and I don't like to wear perfume on those days at all, but this one isn't cloying in the humidity at all.

This requires HEAT to perform. Tried it twice when I had desk work. Zero sillage. Barely there. Gave it another chance this weekend. Was disappointed until we got out of the car and concrete oven of the city started to bake us. Then it shined! Perfect scent bubble! Not too big. Fresh. Green. Wet. Sweet, but not too sweet. I like having a summer clean, fresh, feminine option that isn't coconut. I also love Kenneth Cole Reaction and Nautica Voyage, but this is less strong and more feminine. Also the bottle is really pretty. Will definitely keep an eye out for a sale.

I tested this out in cooler weather and it wasn’t very exciting to me, a very indistinct aquatic smell. But then I tried it again in the heat, and wow it’s like a totally different scent! It smells like aloe, peonies, guava, and palm to me. I get whiffs of the guava and peonies throughout the day, but the aloe note stays present. Definitely a warm weather scent. I find it very unique, there’s really nothing comparable to this. Rainkissed leaves has no floral or fruity notes like this, I don’t find them at all similar.

It's a beachy scent, the guava isn't long lasting, but pleasant. No coconut present. The peony is sweet and lingers in the dry down. I paired it with my La Belle. I'd highly recommend to get any bombshell flanker on discount. I paid $40 for this one during a recent sale. I just can't find any reason for someone to spend $80 on a perfume with such a lousy performance.

I blind bought this based on the fact that guava/palm notes in VS perfumes always hit the spot for me. On me the peony is very subtle, it's a crispy green scent that reminds me of the scents I loved as a kid in the 90s. On the negative side, it's giving generic shower gel/body mist for a price that is way too high imho.

There’s an aloe like note that’s not listed but it creates a spa like quality that cuts the sweetness from the guava which is loud in this. It’s juicy and best worn on super sunny days where you are outside a lot. It’s so sweet it may be cloying in closed spaces. But it lasts a lot longer than these fragrances tend to.

floral, fresh, optimistic. the name escape suits it well - it feels like chilling with your bestie after the last exam day. great for everyday summer mornings. nothing that special about it and no coconut note imo. bf enjoys it more than me.

Smells good, but definitely not buying the full size. It smells really similar to the original and it's just nothing unique

Interesting salty green scent. Quite different from the OG and great for daytime use.

Opens with juicy guava and a bit of green. It smells very tropical and breezy. The guava calms down after the initial 30 minutes, and the palm persists through the rest of wear. It smells a bit aquatic and pleasantly green, like you're sitting under palm trees and catching the ocean breeze. By hour 3, it's an intimate scent and the peony mingles with the palm note. The drydown smells feminine and beachy without smelling like sunscreen. Its last stage reminds me a bit of Aerin Hibiscus Palm. I wish the guava opening lasted longer. I recommend touching up throughout the day with the mist if you want to make the guava note prominent. This is a nice summer scent if you like beachy and tropical scents that aren't too sweet or sunscreeny.

I tried this in the store so I’m reviewing with just one wearing. Keep that in mind but my impression is of a very fruity slightly different tropical scent. It’s a little too artificial smelling for my preference but I like it more than most VS perfumes I’ve tried. It’s not overly sweet or powerful. I do give them kudos for an unusual combination of notes.

Have a few victoria secret fragrances.. The Isle flanker is a gorgeous summer fragrance with subtle coconut and the Lemon Iris (discontinued) is sublime. This just smells like the IMPULSE sprays , the green one i think. Not worth the price tag and ended up selling the bottle after a few sprays. A disappointing release from Victoria secret x

Almost just peony, the guava and watery notes dissipate almost immediately. But a green and fresh peony. It's a very light skinscent. The mini spray will be nice to toss into a bag to freshen up on the go but probably not a repurchase for me, wish it was just a little more green and complex. Might be nice to layer with a tea scent.

If you think this smell like real guava, you need to take a trip to the store. This ended up smelling exactly as I hoped it wouldn't. Passed it on to my teen daughter who is delighted. The search for a true guava scent continues

Just a damp, leafy, jungle-like scent. It was awful for me

This at the drydown reminds me of a much greener and sweeter BBW At The Beach without the coconut of the latter, both having a slightly metallic camphor-like floral scent on my skin, a green floral note which is usually orange blossom or the white frangipani blossoms in At the Beach. Peony is usually sweet and ozonic, so perhaps paired with the green leafy notes it gives that metallic green blossom impression to me. The opening is fruity sweet, tropical and playful from the guava, almost like a body mist not very perfumey, but the drydown becomes more perfume-quality. It doesn't totally suit my chemistry due to that metallic green floral note, but I still think it's the best of the Bombshell clan. To me it's similar league as BBW Tropidelic which is also green and has that weird camphor smell from the ylang ylang, but Bombshell Escape is a lot greener, sweeter and juicier and a bit aquatic too while Tropidelic is more floral and perfumey. This is not like Born in Paradise by Escada which I love, at least on my skin, but both are juicy tropical scents, different vibes for me. I used to wear Born in Paradise a lot. Bombshell escape is very tropical. It pairs well with the new mist by VS Sugared Petals, it makes it smell like a green sugared cocktail under the sun. I also tested it next to Bare Magnolia and they smelled similar at the drydown, this one is more green and bare magnolia is more floral and heavy on the metallic solar orange blossom, so I prefer this one for sure since the sweet guava makes it so refreshing and youthful.

Woah this scent is green! I wasn’t sure if I liked it at first..it reminded me of rain kissed leaves by BBW. But I realized that I have nothing like it in my collection. I get whiffs of its bombshell DNA here and there. I am also relieved that it smells nothing like Bombshell Isle; which I absolutely love. If you are on the fence, it is definitely worth owning both. Longevity is decent; isle is still better. Overall, unique, inexpensive and absolutely adorable bottle! Just get it before it’s gone

Though not indicated in the notes, predictably for this line and season, there's definitely a bit of coconut to this scent. Coconut must be where the money is made for VS, because there's hardly a scented release that doesn't include some version of it. Escape is well within expectations for the range, and should please the fans of the past summer scents. You know what you're getting. Personally, I kind of prefer last year's Isle though. I wish I got more genuine guava from this.

This a yummy summer scent! Almost like a juicy fruit basket. Thankfully no coconut/ sunscreen like most summer scents. I was worried that it was going to be similar to Bombshell Sundrenched due to the notes but not at all. This is a crowd pleaser and not the most unique scent. Performance is similar to other bombshells (2-3 hr wear). Is it worth the price tag? Definitely not. Recommend getting it on a sale even if you are a bombshell collector.

At first this smelled somewhat generic too me, like walking into the perfume department. But as it dried down I found that it became pleasant, a sort of green tea and salt sort of mixture, with a hint of coconut. It's an overall okay perfume, probably good for summer, and since I received it as a gift I'm not mad at it but I don't think I would purchase this scent for myself.

Little bit let down by this one- very green and very peony heavy. I don’t really get much else, it’s a nice flanker but not one I’m gonna purchase a bottle of this year despite having the travel spray. I liked last years flanker isle better. Cute packaging and concept/ the palm notes are there to stay if that’s your type of thing.

People are saying there's no coconut, but I should point out that fragrantica notes are not always right. I went into the store, sprayed it, immediately caught a whiff of coconut, and put it down. It's light, but I don't need another coconut perfume.

i had my miami nectar perfume on and in my bag when i encountered this in vs. it smells more coconut milky than fresh. they smell nothing alike, i smell coconut from this and it resembles the sol de janeiro 39 if anything

Very floral. A bit like light blue but more mature. Smells nothing like sol de janeiro 39. Smells nothing like coconut. It just smells like a tropical flower.

Great summer-in-a-bottle / beach / vacation fragrance without the syrupy coconut, banana, or sunscreen smell. Love this! 3/10 longevity, though.

This is a pretty take on a vacation perfume. It's sweet and in a way fresh. Love that this doesn't have coconut in it like every vacation scent.

All I smell is coconut as soon as I spray it and it is screechy and sharp. Dries down pleasant but is not at all long lasting

By looking at the base notes .... this parfum must be so unique and makes me try it

This is a gorgeous fruit punch scent with a bold coconut note! I love this!!!!

Doesn't smell like Rainkissed Leaves AT ALL.
