Bombshell Summer 2017

I begged my son last spring to get me this for Mother's Day and he, being the sweetie that he is, got it for me (I knew I loved it because I tested it 10 times first, I'm sure the SA's were getting a little annoyed with me, lol). I am sort of indifferent to most VS scents, Amber Romance is okay, but THIS. Is. amazing! So tropical smelling heaven! And it has pretty good lasting power too! I bought myself two body lotions that also have about two hours of noticeable scent - pretty good for lotion, and two rollerballs, did I go a little nuts, or what! The bottle is in actuality really gorgeous, much prettier than the original Bombshell and the picture above. I also found a bottle of this online for a very reasonable price. You know you love something when you buy a backup but only used a fragrance a few times with the first bottle! I know they come out with different names sometimes but please just DON'T change the formula one little bit, please, please! Edit, just snagged another of the large bottle in store just because - it was there! Now have TWO backups!

This is perfection in a bottle, especially for warmer weather but for me.... I'll wear this all year around, you see I have too many fragrances but this summer I found myself using this more than anything, I discovered this in 2018 yes it is the same as 2017 and I already stocked up! The notes are all in perfect harmony there's not too much or too little of any of them, the blackcurrant the lily and the grapefruit are mixed into the perfect smoothie. Lasting power is moderate about 4-5 hours but what to expect from victoria secret, I carry a body mist around because is THAT good. #summerobsession

This is the only Bombshell flanker that I enjoy using a lot. It definitely have the original bombshell DNA, as friends who own the original can immediately identify this. It's a more fruitier, sweeter bombshell. And being in a tropical country, this is literally made for skin under the sun! It's such a sexy scent, but I think you could really pull this off everyday if you want to. I find that a lot of my guy friends would ask what I was wearing when I had this on, it really is a bomb for anyone sitting a few meters away. Longevity is not too bad for me, about 3-5 hours when sprayed lightly.

Snagged this pretty little bottle during SAS just for the cuteness factor alone as I already have a big bottle of Bombshell Paradise. I expected it to smell the same as Paradise but this bottle / version is actually a wee bit fruitier and sweeter. The teenage daughter with a nose like a hound concurs. I also sniffed Bombshell Beach in the store and it smells a bit “saltier” than this one and Paradise but more or less the same. It’s a good one and you can’t beat the price during SAS. Fresh, juicy, clean, airy, easy to wear, a little aquatic and just perfect for summer!

I love this flankers. Its similar to the original but softer, more fruity, aquati. don't really enjoy the OG i found it cloying and it makes me nauseous. In this one the aquatic grapefruits is proeminant and I reaaaaally anjoy it. Really easy to wear for every day.:)I found the drydown a little bit mascuIine, but I like it. The performance is good. The sillage is light and the longevity on my skin is 5-6 hours.

I have never smelled the original Bombshell so I can’t compare this to that. However, I own and adore Bombshell Summer. It smells mainly of grapefruit. I also own Escada Sorbetto Rosso and I enjoy layering this perfume with it because the tartness of the grapefruit pairs beautifully with the sweetness of the watermelon in Escada Sorbetto Rosso.

This smells AMAZING! It's summer in a bottle. My husband absolutely LOVES it, so that's always a bonus as well. It's fruity, fresh, and so uplifting. Seriously, I think the name should be "sunshine" because it's like sunshine in a bottle. I will be wearing this allll summer long.

This is awesome - fresh and summery. It's floral/citrus with grapefruit standing out the most. This will be perfect for summer! It lasts on me about 5 hours. Hard to get now, but got a 1.7 bottle yay. If you can get this, you won't regret it

LOVE this, it is fresh, feminine, bright. I bought a rollerball of this, loved it, and went back to buy a full bottle but the store was out of it. :( They are sold out online as well. If you like this and find it in your store, stock up!

Bought this online on a whim and I'm slightly obsessed. I've since bought all three products in the line and I can be found sniffing my wrists more often than I'd care to admit. It's citrusy, sweet (but not cloyingly so), fresh, sunny, happy. It's hard to maintain a bad mood while wearing this scent. I get grapefruit and lily notes right off the bat. The citrus fades relatively quickly (but not fully) and leaves more of the sugary floral. The finish definitely has musk to it but as someone whose chemistry doesn't play well with musk, it's very light - really just enough for some depth and a bit of a warm tone. I'm sooooo happy I took a chance and grabbed this. It's limited edition and I've noticed VS hasn't been able to consistently keep it in stock online so if you want this, get it soon! Edit: Ugh! Once again a VS perfume has turned awful on me. Like Bombshell original before this and Love original, my chemistry converted it into the cheapest, grossest men’s cologne you can imagine. I don’t know why it seemed to have taken longer to change but its definitely ruined for me. I still cannot seem to nail down which note it is that causes this but it’s exclusive to VS fragrances and it is nasty. If you’ve never had this problem then I absolutely recommend this scent. It’s been relaunched as Bombshell Paradise this year and it truly is a great one.

Fresh, bright, happy, refreshing, and perfect for summer. This definitely has the original Bombshell dna, but brightened for summer. The bright, zesty, and refreshing grapefruit is the star here. I do pick up on the beautiful lily of the valley as well as other fruity notes (passion fruit?). Maybe some peony, vanilla orchid, and a little musk too? Can we please talk about this gorgeous bottle?! The beautiful hot pink to peach ombré is what made me really have to have this one! I’m kind of obsessed with ombré haha! It definitely captures the whole vibe of the fragrance... bright, summer-y, and happy! I get good longevity with Bombshell Summer, it lasts through the day on me. The projection is nice too, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me. Also, this is the exact same fragrance as the original 2011 Bombshell Summer.

Awww!!! Sophia Grojsman made this one, no wonder I like it so much! My daughter and I went to Goodwill and found this there, she took an immediate liking to it. It's "not her usual style", but "It's really, really nice." And...well, absolutely. I immediately thought this smelled like watermelon though! She absolutely agrees, and said it reminds her of Watermelon Lemonade from B&BW. It does smells slightly similar, but this is actually less tart. I'm truly surprised grapefuit is listed as a leading note...because it isn't as if it isn't citrusy, but it's certainly not as astringent as grapefruit typically is. At any rate, this is a sweet scent, but it has body. There's light florals beneath it, but ultimately the feel of this fragrance is juiciness. It's extremely pretty! (Cross posted from other entry.)

This really grew on me over time. I used to think the Bombshell flankers were too powdery, but Summer 2017 is really heavy on citrus. The grapefruit doesn't come through for me, so I would not compare this to something like BBW Grapefruit Frosé. It's not photorealistic grapefruit, but more like a Squirt soda. Hot tip, don't wear this in spring and summer. Even though this is a super great deal and lasts a long time, it will totally burn right off if it's hot out. Wear it in winter and fall and it will last all day. Just because it's not a warm, spicy, or amber scent doesn't mean it isn't pleasant in cooler weather.

Vicky is getting lazy. Considering that they're releasing a "new" Bombshell at what seems like nearly once every month, I was surprised that they just re-released last year's summer edition without even changing the bottle or the description in the press release! The initial spray has a warmness that does remind me of summer, but after the top note burns off, the dry down smells exactly like the original Bombshell. It still smells fantastic, but I still have a huge bottle of the original left, and it isn't worth buying this one just because the top note is different for about 30 minutes.

I got this Summer edition last month for a very good price in a clearance sale. Since it's a limited edition, I used to want it so bad but it was a little bit pricey for me back in 2017. This one is way more fresh and bright compared to the original Bombshell. You'll get a very sharp grapefruit notes in the initial spray and it will last for quite a while before it turns into a fresh fruity scent. Definitely a summer perfume. The bottle looks so pretty with the pink ribbon on, but the longevity is not that good. It disappears in 3-4 hours.

I actually quite like this one. There's the original, which I'm not a fan of... and then there's this one that feels quite realistically citrusy. A very enjoyable grapefruit for someone who often doesn't like grapefruit because it can sometimes smell cheap and acrid. Go figure!

I'm 99% sure this is the same as the 2011 and 2014 editions. In that the notes are the same and overall experience is the same. I am sure there are nuances that are different at the beginning, but the final effect seems the same to me.. What about everyone else?

I got a rollerball of this half Bombshell and half Bombshell Summer. Summer is nice, easy to wear fragrance. Very citrusy with a floral background. Not my favorite flanker (my favorite flanker is Seduction) but it is a pretty fragrance. The bottle is GORGEOUS!

I loved it when I smelled it at Victoria's Secret years ago, but to my now more trained nose this is boring and doesn't have enough depth for me, so this doesn't appeal to me very much, even in the summer. It's ok. I'd guess the notes here are accurate, though I am not sure what Lily of the Valley smells like, but this is a little sharp probably from a combination of it with the grapefruit.

I never smelled the summer Bombshell from 2017 but everything I have read indicates that the Bombshell Summer Edition that is being sold now in Victorias Secret stores and online is the same as the summer 2017 version. I bought the new version (same as this one I believe) and I love it! It is so citrusy and fresh, with a slight marine note to it. I am addicted to it. Usually I go for sweet and super gourmand fragrances (I love Prada Candy and Noir Tease from Victorias Secret), but I was itching for something like this for summer. It is stunning to spray this in the morning, puts you in a great mood. I am kicking myself that I didn’t get the 3.4, considering that even though Victorias Secret brought this out again from last year they might not bring it out again after this or could totally change it around. The bottle is gorgeous. Seriously, I have been buying 1.7 of all of my perfumes lately because I hardly ever use up a bottle unless it’s a smaller bottle. Already though I have used a significant amount of this and I have only had it for a little over a week! My complaint is that it could be longer lasting, which I’ve heard is pretty usual fare for Victorias Secret. My trick is to concentrate it on areas where it can touch clothing or my hair. I know that spraying perfume on your clothes can be a no-no usually because it can start to smell bad if you hang your clothes back up and leave them for a while, but honestly this fragrance is so light and fresh that it’s probably not going to be a problem. It fades quickly when I spray it on my wrists but I can still smell it on my shirt and the ends of my hair after the day is over!
