Cherry Bonbon Bliss

I love this scent so much! It’s not medicinal at all like a lot of cherry scents can be. It’s a nice winter fragrance for people who don’t really like gourmands. Sweet, sugary cherry liqueur. Heavenly.

Simple and straightforward cherry PEPPERCORN over a light floral base, similar to Bath & Body Works Oh Cherry, but the floral is toned down and evened out with the forward notes. Similar 'pepper' accord to how some found Sweetheart Cherry upon spraying. Similar to what happened with Cherry Desire, in an attempt to brighten this already perfectly fine pie cherry into a deeper scent, instead of a varnished wood note- now using pepperberry. Cherry Desire took the same cherry and turned it juicier, liquored, to a fairly obscene degree. The fruit and floral notes produced by Cherry Bonbon Bliss are categorically sweet, but the scent itself is fairly low on the saccharine scale as it remains largely a slightly spicy generic garden (fruitish-floral) scent. An easier wear than TF Lost Cherry, and the cherry does stay in some form for the duration of its weartime. It's just not the predominant note after the first 10 minutes; and none of the remainder really remind us of cherried candy after the fact. But, you ask. Isn't this supposed to be a photorealistic chocolate covered cherry? So of course, the 'spice' that's been brought up in this is not a sweet or rich desert one but just plain old, non smoked, steak pepper. What fool am I to have taken anyone's reviews about the body of this being chocolate or cinnamon seriously. The colder the weather the higher that ordinary kitchen cupboard pepper note hits; maybe in the still, high 100s it will feel like a bouquet in 7-11 slushie with some soup seasoning in there for good measure. It doesn't have an unami aspect, it's just an ordinary slightly acrid accord for contrast. It wouldn't be the worst thing any of us have sprayed on ourselves, and I'm certainly not suggesting anyone avoid the experience. In fact I think this is a pretty solid option for mixing and matching with other perfumes to one's liking, it's stuck around for days on my sweaters and blankets so there's obviously pretty good fixative in the blend. I suppose some of you will defend this as 'chocolate' to your graves but it really doesn't translate as such at all, and I'd be remiss to let others be let down when they wonder why they aren't getting a whole gourmande Mexican Hot Chocolate moment, but Mole instead. Truffle, fudge, praline, caramel, chocolate and candy fans keep looking. There's nothing but some refreshing yet savory springtime orchard blooms to be had here.
