Daring

Opal Drip KKW, BBW Aromatherapy Cedarwood Vanilla, VS Astrology mist Pink Water, Tease Creme Cloud and BR540. Here we go again. I smell some musk-amber and a fresh bergamot opening, but the mossy, earthy balsamic resinous amber-y drydown is identical to Aromatherapy Cedarwood Vanilla which has a natural crude intense amber like this one. It's a cleaner more simple structure and scent without lacking in richness, and I love that. Its drydown is also pretty identical to KKW Opal Drip without the sour tones of the latter. Daring has a similar green vibe but with bergamot. When I tested Daring I knew right away that it's in the BBW Aromatherapy Cedarwood Vanilla - BR540 family with a much more smooth resinous feel and some fresher opening. The opening is lovely and very clean just like in the BBW Aromatherapy Cedarwood Vanilla. After the opening I am sensing an almost rubbery slightly "smoky" amber which is nice,(nothing burnt, not obnoxious), it does not burn my nose as with Tease Creme Cloud and it does not have the heady vanilla of Cloud, but I do smell some sugar here but it must be the syrupy amber; it has a 'thick' smooth drydown, sweet and slightly balsamic yet light so this is why it's very close to Opal Drip which was a unique variation of the BR540 in this congested genre and it also had this subtle amber-y smokiness before the drydown as Daring does. I love the moss I am a huge moss fan - hi Chloe Nomade- I just bought VS Bombshell Paris and it has all the moss I need in a fresher non-BR540 setting with a Burberry Brit type of scent in the opening and a unisex fresh drydown. I bought Daring despite being similar to Opal Drip and Pink Water the VS Astrology mist which to me is even better than Daring due to the coconut, but Daring is more sophisticated. I do love its drydown in the breeze outside. Bare Vanilla Untamed is not similar to this, not even by the notes imo. Its serene fresh, damp-mossy yet resinous opening and heart are one of a kind and I love how it becomes more sugared progressively and slightly waxy even to reach that comforting and botanical amber-y earthy drydown.

I absolutely love this! I had written off VS fragrances long ago, but they totally redeemed themselves with this one. Unlike anything else VS has available at the moment, and I'm still shocked it is a Victoria Secret fragrance 🤯🤯 I do not agree that Frangetica has all the notes listed, while I smell all the ones they list to some degree, I definitely smell a little pear and maybe salt?? It has a sweetness to it that you wouldn't expect looking at the description on paper....not gourmand sweet, but enough to make it lean feminine. It's a very clean girl scents so if that is your thing definitely try this one out. I have the travel and the lotion and will be upgrading to a full size the next good sale VS has. Only drawback is that because it's Victoria Secret, this may not be around for long 😬😬, in my experience they are quick to discontinue things even if they are popular....so I'm definitely going to buy a couple of back ups just in case ❤️

I love the restraint this scent was created with. It's sweet, earthy and lush. For me, it's a wearable interpretation of the BR540 DNA. I've purchased Burberry Her, AG's Cloud, Coach's Wild Rose, a few Arabian dupes, a decant of the original itself and I've found they all have an intoxicating quality with a challenging edge. I can't tolerate something in the perfumes, unfortunately. They start off as winners so I hope this doesn't suffer the same fate. This almost got tossed out immediately. My order was was about a week late. When it finally arrived the initial blast of musky ambroxan immediately triggered my associations with BR540. It was vile. The following day revealed a soft and pleasant scent perfect for fall. It's worth noting that this is definitively a cool-weather scent - one I'll likely set aside during summer months. For the rest of this year, though, I anticipate reaching for this frequently.

So I was surprised they made a new bottle - this is a departure from the regular - bombshell, tease, and bare flankers - even very sexy flankers - so going with a whole new pilar is nice - the notes worried me - but I do actually really like this! FIRST the bottle is a must see - unique misshapen glass, the top lid with the stamp of "Victoria's secret" and just the quality of it. 2023 99% of the VS releases were superstar's - so far this is the best release this year next to magnolia bare - I will say Daring leans a bit familiar - not a TOTAL copy cat of another scent but very familiar. I like this and it's an easy wear that I think will perform in heat and cold weather - perfect release for this time period!

Really pretty I’m glad I bought a bottle recently, starts off bright with a citrus sweet opening then as it starts to settle I get this pretty warm amber mixed in with a soft slight woody base. Tad does remind me of Burberry her without the strawberry and powdery note Burberry her has. Surprisingly VS Daring lasted 6 hours plus on skin and hours on my clothes. The next day I went to wash my jumper I had worn the day before which I sprayed this on and I could still smell it on the jumper, even after I washed the jumper it still had a faint smell of the perfume on it. Which I wasn’t mad about lol.

i was absolutely addicted to this scent when i smelled it in the store. it's very unlike anything VS has released. the bergamot and mossy notes are really well-blended, but definitely present. the dry-down is primarily amber. i see this as pretty unisex, which i think makes the presentation more fitting. i love it on myself, but would also love to smell this on a man. it gives the air of being well-groomed. all that being said, i could see this as being unpopular and i don't see it sticking around. i hope i'm wrong.

Honestly surprisingly love this. Saw the notes and thought nah. Then I smelled it in store. It’s so ambery and sweet and a little bit fresh. I honestly can’t describe it. It feels like nostalgic almost 80s like I may have smelled this before and it brings fond memories? But I can’t place it. I def feel like it’s almost a cousin of Bare and Creme Cloud but also very different just that vibe. Longevity is good too. Give it a go. For sure a fan minus the cheesy name. Bottle is kinda cool too.

For reference: I’m a woman in her late 40’s. I received this as a sample size from a scent subscription service. Opens with a musky, fruity scent which lasts for around 30-40 minutes. Dries down to a beautiful fruity musk, with amber undertones. This one is moderate, stays within wearer’s bubble, and lasts on skin for a good 4-6 hours. This scent is beautiful, and good for wear anytime. Light enough for casual, but sensual enough for date night. Love this! Will be getting more soon.

I love this! It opens with a blast of sweet, clean citrus. Then the warm sweet amber comes in, balanced with that earthy moss note. How do I even explain the scent of this? It’s one of those that you can’t really identify what you’re smelling, you just know that it smells good. If you smell this on someone you won’t think they’re outright wearing perfume; just that their natural aroma is clean & pleasant. It just smells put together, but not overdone.

Today I went and smelled this at the victoria's secret.At the mall by my house, and it made me think of this guy.I work with, and I almost bought it for him.But I didn't, I could smell this on a guy and love it.But on a woman, I don't think it would work it just smells like comforting and security, which, for some reason I find in this man even he isnt my boyfriend or anything but I would love to smell this on him

i LOVE this perfume. the bergamot gives it such a fresh and sweet opening, and then it mixes so well w everything beneath it. im impressed by how straightforward the perfume is in general- as it sits it goes thru each note very distinctly, with barest hints of the note before it left behind. the dry down is gorgeous, its sharp and mossy and warm woody and barely sweet after an hour or two, its rly so nice.

I find this a little sweeter than I expected it to be. Not sugary gourmand sweet, but a little fruity sweet. It’s fresh but ambery, clean, and a little different than most of what I wear. Longevity is just ok on me - I did have to reapply mid-day. I think it leans slightly feminine but could be unisex depending on your tastes.

The reminds me of section is laughable as usual🙄 Anyway, Victoria's Secret did a great job with this fragrance. This is a wonderful callback- in fact I believe it's the reincarnation of the iconic Body fragrance of 2002. It smells like a sweeter and more elevated take on that classic, and I hope they keep it around.

Pleasantly surprised by this scent. Good for formal events, or maybe professional settings. Good projection too. Update: This lasted me a good 7 hours with moderate to light projection. Update 2: Kinda smells like Zara Red Temptation

One of my top 3 perfumes. It's my signature fall/winter scent. I live in Florida and it's to much for the heat but I love it so much. Definitely a compliment getter. My favorite is when a stranger tells me that I smell amazing .

Outstanding unisex fragrance. Unexpected in usual VS line up. Soft woody dry down is to die for.

i was surprised at how long-lasting it is but there’s no projection at all

I got the chance to test this perfume through a tester given with purchase. Right now it hasn’t been too long since I sprayed it so I’m still trying to see how it’ll proceed as hours pass but it starts with a sharp strong spicy smell, as it also said in the description, it’s a fresh spice. I definitely see this perfume as an unisex perfume but from a distance, I can get that warm, sweet scent of amber, which is something I definitely love. Apart from oakmoss and bergamot, I feel like there’s something else but I can’t put my finger on it. It also reminds me of another perfume but I can’t remember that too, there’s a familiarity in this. This is a smell I think I’ll like better as a little time passes because initially I wasn’t so impressed. I can’t say I’m in love with this smell but I think it’s a nice perfume that I’d like to own a full bottle. It has became my mom’s favourite though and she seems to love it more than I do. Also, I haven’t tested many Victoria’s Secret perfumes but among the ones I smelled, I can say this has become one of my favourites, it feels more interesting. I like the way it fades away and I can suggest giving this perfume a go if you can smell it in person. It may not be for everyone but overall liked it, it’s a sophisticated and strong perfume.

I just got this in the mail today, I am really excited because i’ve heard a lot about the fragrance but no one could describe it for my imagination. The first test spray was on paper. It’s very woody/bergamot forward . On paper that doesn’t really change, it’s not sweet it’s even a bit sharp. Second spray is on my wrist, and HOLYYYYYYYYYYY! It has settled and changed immediately. The woodiness died down and now it’s very earthy and ambery, a little sweet but not nearly too much. I was afraid this would give me a headache but my head and nose feel pleasantly fine! I haven’t seen anyone else say this but this scent literally smells so close to Body by Victoria. That was my favorite perfume and I’ve yet to find a dupe! Well it smells like the DNA are very similar in the two. It’s an honest clean, earthy and sweet scent. Thinking of pairing it with my amber oil or body mist. Also the amber in the perfume really isn’t the heavy and sweet amber we’re used to. This scent really is beautiful! It’s also NOT soapy than god. I’m normally a gourmand girly but I think I could definitely layer this.

i work at victorias secret and hand out samples of this perfume all day long on the sales floor. when it first released, i assumed i would hate it because im not a fan of any of the three notes. when i first sprayed it, however, i fell in love. it’s an amber unlike any other i’ve tried. perhaps its just the way this blends with my skin chemistry, but the amber in this is so warm and sticky and sweet on me it almost smells like caramel. the bergamot lends a soft dewiness to this scent that keeps it fresh and wearable. daring is a chameleon and needs to be tested on skin to know how it will truly smell on you, but on me this is a great everyday scent for when i want to smell warm and sweet but not necessarily edible.
