Hardcore Rose

I just went into a VS today and had no intention of buying a fragrance for myself. I saw the Bottle of Hardcore Rose and loved it; picked it up to test it, and immediately fell in love...so I had to leave with it. What a beautiful modern rose scent. It is very fruity, but on my skin, the rose does come out also. It's a slightly jammy rose that never gets too jammy. The fruitiness gives the rose a playful airyness, so that it's not cloying. This fragrance is quite sexy in my opinion. I can imagine wearing a black tight fit puffer coat with beautiful fur around the hood; paired with a bold red lip, black leather boots, ripped dark jeans, and that would work perfectly as a look for this perfume. I don't have many rose fragrances that I like. This one is just soooo good. Also, I sprayed it on my hand and kept getting wafts of it for quite a while, so longevity is great. For me, this is a beautiful signature scent, perfect for any season, but it does tend to remind me more of winter. I will be using this quite a bit for the rest of the winter. Update: This scent has insane longevity. I get 12+ hours out of it! Crazy for the price I bought it for during VS sale.

Hardcore Rose is a refreshing take on a rose scent. It has rose DNA, but lifted to a more youthful presentation. The plum gives it a sweetness that helps offset the soapy/waxy quality you’d expect in an older, more traditional rose fragrance. The amber base is subtle and smooth. I’m not sure why so many reviewers list this as Spring/Summer scent or that it’s for daytime wear. This clearly smells like exactly what it was marketed as: something for a Valentine’s Day date (i.e. - a Winter evening) to me. If you’ve been on the fence about rose fragrances, this is a great place to start. It was a seasonal run for VS’s 2019 V-Day promotion, but I think it’s part of the permanent in-store collection now. For something I paid less than $40 for, this is better than some of my high end selections.

Has been my scent for the past two years - absolutely gutted when I found it was gonna be discontinued but managed to grab a few bottles before the sale ended. Normally never into VS scents at ALL, but this scent is just beautiful. It’s very rosey but with a sweet and warm kind of twist to it. It’s playful and grown up at the same time. The scent is very sweet but this is the only sweet scent where it never gets nauseating or makes me feel sick of it. I hope one day they bring it back! I have to go on the hunt for a similar perfume now. If you manage to get your hands on these somehow, definitely give it a try - and worth a blind buy.

Oh my gosh, this was an instant love at first sniff for me. I discovered it yesterday as they made it available for the semi-annual sale at VS. I immediately had to buy it. It conjures images of me floating in a silky ribbon of air and freshness with roses and raspberries. It is just divine. I recommend it for those who like a sweet (berry fruity) fresh rose.

Because of the plum/rose combo it registers more like raspberry to me. Rose, raspberry which I loved in the top but then the mainstream vanilla took over and some musk, also some patchouli. Dark for evening. Wish it had stayed in the top with the fruity rose. Got a little sour in the base.

Hardcore Rose applies with a freshly sweet burst of plum-lead fruits, before settling into a uncomplicated rose-lead powdered floral heart - I'm not sure what other fruit and floral notes are used as the plum and rose are by far the strongest on me, and they almost smoother the other notes, but I think I detect raspberry, magnolia, peony and/or freesia. The base of patchouli and slightly nutty amber/vanilla develops quickly and bleeds though into the fruit and floral notes, so the fragrance is quite linear. Hardcore Rose is not a "wow" fragrance, but it is nice and easy to wear. Whilst there's nothing unique about it, there's nothing disagreeable about it. More 'grown-up' than the average VS fragrance.

Fresh, feminine, uncomplicated Rose. I find myself reaching for this more and more. In my 20s I loved Stella McCartney so I guess I like a rose perfume that smells unapologetically like a rose and not much else. These days my usual taste is citrus/woody and while this is completely different it has the same cleanness I expect from those fragrances. I was looking for a feminine 'just out of the shower' fragrance and turns out I had it stashed away in a drawer in this roller perfume I was gifted (I'd been really put off by the tacky name). But it's becoming a staple. I also like a perfume that goes against the season a bit and wearing this in Autumn makes everything feel romantic and lighter.

I got this as a gift. I am not a fan of VS fragrances at all, In my opinion they all smell the same and I feel that maybe too young for my taste. I did however try it on to give it a fair shot and I was surprised. Very nice fragrance, this is not something that I would wear on a special occasion but I find it perfect to use after going to the gym. I spray it on every day at noon after working out and walk into the office and so far no complaints (and I have a person next to me that loves to complain about fragrance). I am happy I got this. I can smell roses but not overwhelming roses, I am not sure how the plum smells but I am assuming it's that nice fruity smell I get before the rose.

blind bought it. not the biggest floral lover myself. it starts really crisp, fresh, and fruity. smells a lot like a shampoo, just smells clean. as it dries down, the scent is more of a dry, sharp, potpourri rose. It is pretty and clean and simple. This will be an easy reach. It is for when you don't want something too complex. The opening reminds me a bit of JLo Enduring Glow, not identical, but similar dna. That perfume never goes floral on me though like this one does, so they differ a lot in the dry down. I am happy with my purchase and will not have an issue using this.

Very shower-y clean fruity rose. Easy reach. I like it for right after a shower! More citrusy-y and less sweet than Bows & Roses or Covered in Roses (both Delina dupes). More warm and sweet and less sharp peony citrus/tangy than Philosophy Ballet Rose. Not as champagne sparkling as Champagne in Paris or Champagne in Toast.

I tested this yesterday at the VS store near me. The notes stated were all present in this, it really was a dark sweet fruity rose. Decent lasting power. Very nice. I will only purchase a rollerball as I have WAY too much perfume already lol!

Los Angeles, summer night. Smells like all the vs crap mixed together

Bright opening with a clean, soapy rose. There’s a light touch of sharp plum but only when it becomes a skin scent (and I really have to search for it then); no warm, sweet amber to my nose. Definitely a VS perfume, with that classic Bombshell DNA, which can sometimes read as screechy to me. Overall, this wasn’t the warm, fruity-rose scent I was hoping for, but I almost kept it anyway. It’s a clean rose, which is unique to my wardrobe, and I thought I’d enjoy it post-shower, just before climbing into bed. But I decided to return it and save the money for something else that was more to my liking.

I wish my nose could detect more plum in this. 😢 I mainly get a sharp rose and a slight hint of amber, it’s rather boring on me. It really is fascinating how different our body chemistries can be. Thankfully I only bought a little rollerball of this. It is useful for toning down perfumes that are too sugary-sweet, though. I used it over Pink Sugar today just for the sake of using them both up. 😅 I will try this again when it gets warmer and see if I can get some of that juicy plum.

got this perfume gifted to me by my ex boss years ago but i remember i wasn’t a big fan of the extreme sharp rose at first. after a few minutes i liked it but it’s nothing special.

Echoing that its more fruity than rose, I agree the combo of rose and plum kind of gives it a raspberry vibe. Very linear. Good longevity, can smell for 3 hours, but poor sillage. Overall disappointing for me as I was looking for something more rosy. Not bad but not a smell for me.

I like the top notes of Hardcore Rose, as it reminds me of the limited edition, red-and-black Bombshell Seduction from 2011. It is a fresh fruity-floral. I didn't find this sweet. Any sweetness here is more of a juicy, watery, fresh sweetness rather than vanilla/candy. Surprisingly, this is not really a rose scent. I couldn't discern any rose at all, actually. Hardcore Rose is a standard contemporary Victoria's Secret fragrance — a fresh, generic, recycled fruity-floral. That may be a bad thing, it may be a good thing. Perhaps you are looking for that type of scent. However, if you already own a lot of VS, chances are, you have something similar to Hardcore Rose in your collection. Unlike Bombshell Seduction 2011, Hardcore Rose quickly became sour. It also didn't last more than 30 minutes. If it wasn't sour, and if I had found a super low price online, I would have bought this. Those two drawbacks are what made me pass this up.

This perfume works well with a different flowery perfume that may not work well with your chemistry or during that season or weather. It blends very well. I love the scent but just not the type of scent I pick up daily so it was just sitting there... unopened. Lotion, unopened too. And today I finally opened both. Lol. Just before Valentine’s Day. Today I felt the need to smell flowers, but didn’t wanna smell like I’m wearing a very old perfume so this was perfect. All other scents just didn’t please me today. This perfume is definitely for those rare days when you just can’t be happy with all the other scents you wear usually. But anyway I think it’s good for mixing!!!! Once mixed with other scents it turns into a magical, pleasing scent for your own liking. I guess no one can create what works for you on a particular day, in a particular mood, except yourself. Amen. Lol

For something called Hardcore Rose its not a lot of rose. Its actually mostly plum on me. There was more rose scent in the Bombshell Wild Flower. Those are the only notes I get from this, plum & rose, there is no change or development. Its just a generic daytime plum/rose fruity floral from start to finish. VS seems to really be struggling. They are pumping out new perfumes but after a few weeks they disappear off the site. They have discontinued a lot of the more original scents they have had. The new scents are generic with little lasting power. I have always looked forward to their new scents & always bought all of them. After the last several generic purchaces I think I will have to take a break from VS.

IDEA: What if we all start stating where we live. For instance, someone who lives in a humid climate will have a different smell reaction to a perfume with someone from a dry climate. I know this because I lived in both. What smelled fantastic in one place was a disaster in the other... (Humid to dry). I believe this makes a huge difference to the outcome of the perfume, and might help us somewhat. Thoughts on this idea? Does it matter? Will it help? :) Happy sniffing! (I live in the dry high desert of New Mexico) I have not been to VS store just yet, but tomorrow I will see if it's there!

This was a blind buy as I had coupon for a free roller ball from VS and just grabbed this as i was in a rush. I picked it because I always love a rose scent and with a name like Hardcore Rose I assumed it would deliver at least that. I don't dislike this perfume, it's enjoyable and the kind I'd probably keep in my gym bag for the summer, but I can barely pick up the rose in this. I smell Plum with hints of powder, raspberry and amber. I won't repurchase or buy a full size but I will use this.

This was a blind buy for me. It opened soooooo sweet. The dry down ended up smelling like grandma's square soap back in the day. The sweetness only lasts about an hour. The dry down was too powerfully funky imo. I returned it.

One of the best rose perfumes ever.
