Heavenly Eau de Parfum 2023

Normally, the more a perfume gets reformulated, the less I like it. There's a trend toward entropy - the original ingredients are no longer available so they become substituted, the formula gets watered down while the perfume continues to sell based on reputation and marketing, and it slowly gets phased out. The opposite is true for this version of Heavenly for me. The previous one I found too screechy and distant from its skin-close intent. While the bottle for this latest reformulation is cheap, plasticky, and uninspired, the perfume is good. I especially like the warmth of the vanilla in the drydown. This could quickly become a dumb-reach, everyday perfume because, while sensual, it's also versatile and unpolarizing. It's both a date-night scent and a warm, comforting caregiver scent. I'm not sure what was up with that last formulation, but some of the reviews/ratings indicate this is going closer back to the Dream Angels version that we remember. I'm glad they still keep making this.

Heavenly used to be constant wear for me in college. I layered this (in body mist form) with a few other perfumes for my everyday scent. I haven’t had it in years, though, and decided to pick up a rollerball. Overall, it’s pretty close to what I remember .. lightly soapy with a golden amber and cashmere-soft musk .. plus a slightly savory greenness in the opening. (This could be my rollerball, though.) The biggest difference between then and now has to the the longevity and projection .. It’s pretty bad. Now, I know rollerballs don’t give you the same experience as a full spritz, but I have a lot of rollerballs that perform well .. and this is just not great. Bottom line: I love Heavenly. I’ll happy use up my rollerball and will likely purchase a full bottle when it’s empty. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that a full bottle performs better.

I love this perfume, it’s my signature scent! I blind bought it and was really nervous about it but when I smelt it it was amazing I love it I love the bottle design I love the gold I love the name I love love the brand. Best perfume I’ve ever bought.

As a VS employee that has tried the entire VS fine fragrance collection, this is my favorite. I mostly get a clean soapy musk with jasmine and light vanilla and sandalwood towards the dry down. This is elegant and perfect for any occasion.

Loving this scent! Reminds me of Japanese Cherry Blossom for some reason, maybe the amber and sandalwood. Husband loves it. Was able to last all day with some tricks.

Everyone says this smells nothing like the old Heavenly and the notes listed are very different but my mom wore the OG dream angels heavenly in the mid 2000s and when I smelled this I instantly recognized her scent and was transported to childhood and my mom hugging me before she went out for the night. Maybe side by side they’re different but there’s definitely a resemblance. This is warm, floral, and musky. Maybe it’s just the nostalgia factor but this feels very mature, like a confident grown woman, and it’s sexy and clean at the same time. Unfortunately, like most VS perfumes this doesn’t seem to have much lasting power.

I had the original and wore it for years before losing sight of it. When I went to buy it again, I thought I was going crazy because it smelled nothing like the OG (which was amazing with my skin chemistry). The subsequent versions were nothing close to it. I will say though, that this “newest” version is the closest to the OG they have had. I’m so picky with fragrance that it was heartbreaking to find that it was gone. This is probably 80% similar to my (sensitive but novice) nose.

Soft, powdery, gentle musk. Has great staying power on me! Bought this on sale on Black Friday. Definitely didn’t *need* it, but I’ll definitely use it. I liked it already on paper, but wearing has made me more fond of it. I unfortunately don’t have any opinions on the old formula as I’m unfamiliar

Bummer. Definitely different than the original. My mom wore the OG back in the 90s and I used to love to hug her and get that whiff of scent. Still clean and powdery, still pretty, but something’s off. It smells OK but I think I’m going to return it.

I never had the OG Heavenly, but I agree this doesn’t last. I still really enjoy this smell, I wear it to bed only. It’s powdery, soapy, and makes me sleepy. It’s a relaxing skin scent.

Just a straight up musky baby wipe smell. The opening is nice because it’s a little more 3 dimensional. You can smell the jasmine and something citrus-y but once that’s gone after about 2 minutes you’re left with what reminds me of basic white lotion on skin. I don’t hate it, but this leaves me wanting MORE. I also go nose blind to this so quick; after about 5 minutes I can barely smell it at all.

I'm a Heavenly/Dream Angels Heavenly fanatic and have tried almost every single release/reformulation. I compared them to this newest release, and this one: - is not the same as the OG Dream Angels Heavenly formula (in the tall, tapered, slightly-curved bottle with the white heart cap), or even the more recently-released Heavenly formula (the one in the chunky/"rectangular gold gem" shape) - is missing a LOT of notes from the OG Dream Angels Heavenly + newer Heavenly formulas (see previous Heavenly reviews) - smells cold, synthetic, and flat; does not have the musky, clean, "sexy soapy" DNA we all know and love over the years, regardless of which version/release - does not last :( ***TL/DR: This is not the same as previously-released versions :( *** P.S. I recently bought the OG formula on a resale platform, and it smelled just as beautiful and vibrant as before - hadn't turned at all.

It is literally insane to me that Victoria Secret calls this Heavenly when it smells literally nothing like the original Heavenly. The OG actually smelled pretty good. It was also strong and long lasting. This smells like you mixed a little bit of soap and powder fresh deodorant in water and sprayed yourself with it. You can barely smell it, and it last less time than a body spray from any other brand. I can not stress enough how little this resembles the old Heavenly to the point where it's just annoying that they even call it Heavenly. his smells almost nothing like it used to. V.S. is a VERY bad quality brand... one of the worst, and they know it. They don't even try anymore. They just count on our stupidity for sales at this point. You'd be better off buying a something from the drugstore. Body Fantasies body sprays are better quality than V.S. perfumes. Side note: if you're curious what the old Heavenly actually smelled like, I think Crafters Choice still sells a Heavenly Fragrance Oil for dirt cheap that is more or less the same.

Let me start by saying, earlier this year, my mom passed away. I recently purchased this perfume because my mom used to wear this when I was a teenager. I wanted some nostalgia and to be reminded of my her when I wore it. You can imagine how disappointed I was when I sprayed it, to find it smells NOTHING like it used to. I mean, this shouldn't even be called Heavenly. The OG was a vanilla dominant perfume, and this smells like amber soap. Where is that beautiful ethereal vanilla? This is a clean girl scent with a dominate wood in the base. A completely different scent from the original! Not to mention I can barely smell it on myself. I got this on sale, and thank God because I really would've been livid to pay full price for this. What a heart break. I am going to let this macerate to hopefully become stronger and bring out some vanilla, but I do not have high hopes for this.

I remember when these came out, there were I think 3 or 4 and Heavenly was definitely the stand out. Halo, Heavenly, I can’t remember the others. I bought my mom a set of the minis and we both agreed that this was the best one. It was a ‘your skin but better scent’ before that was a thing. I remember it being an Amber musk that had a womanly powdery quality, not at all anything like baby powder. The florals were non-descript, but probably Jasmine. It was soft, pretty, feminine, and very likable. I’ll have to try it out to see if it genuinely smells like the original. I will say that the new VS perfumes have the worst performance in my collection. They didn’t use to be this way. Heavenly and Very Sexy (02’ version) had great performance, Bombshell too.

Generic musky baby wipe sandalwood mixture, this is also quite popular amongst the crowd that come looking for perfume where i work, but i oddly dont get the interest in this one at all. Its so polarizing and to me smells unisex, or masculine at first and like a feminine version of a woody axe body spray when it starts to dry down on the skin. I can see how it might be considered powdery and calming after a while because realistically this only lasts you about 2 hours before fading into just a sweet skin scent thats a little more pleasant. Did they have a vintage or “classic” route in mind when formulating this one cus that also comes to mind when I smell this.

Fresh feminine laundry. Beige. Inoffensive, but not much more than "just ok" for me. Less floral, more powder; I don't pick up as much jasmine as I'd like. Heavy on the sandalwood, which I do like. More of a stay-in, lowkey scent. I've heard a million things about how Heavenly 2023 pales in comparison to the original, but if you like simple clean scents, you'll like it just fine. I'm not typically fond of powders, but a friend did catch my wrist and say "mmm! That's delightful!" and begged to try, for what that's worth. Moderate sillage. Longevity is seemingly average as well, though I've never tried an all-day wear--a spray on the clothes may help it last.

Soft, slightly powdery, vanilla-sandalwood-soft musk. Smells like the early 2000s, pre-social media time period, before things took a turn for crazy. The fragrance equivalent of a soft, cream colored cashmere sweater. I do think this version out now might be slightly heavier on the sandalwood & cardamom than the original 2000 version. Anyone who likes scents like Cashmere Mist, Avon Soft Musk, Skin Musk oil, or Coty Vanilla Musk, might like this. I have the current body mist, and it’s similar enough to the original, that I’m happy. Very cozy and comforting.

I bought the new Heavenly Mist. I don’t like it at all. I understand the comparison to diapers that I once heard somewhere🙈 Of course it might work well for some people :-) But I really don’t like the smell, I tried to like it, but it’s a no. It also stays mostly the same during the drydown. I gave it to a friend. Also, the Heavenly Dream Angel that I got I like much more, and it’s a very different scent. Not the best ever either, but better than this one imo :)
