Peach Hyacinth

My signature fragrance, 1996, 97, 98. My sister got me into it. Very different than other peach fragrances of the time. Peach Hyacinth was gorgeous. In my dorm room my friend Sara sniffed it and sighed, "Such a gorgeous scent". Floral, fresh, romantic. Not so peachy, like say, Bath and Body Works Peach Nectar or The Shop's Fuzzy Peach. Both I love, by the way. Mellow and soft. I sadly have one found one kind of dupe in so many years, Suave Mandarin body lotion circa 2009, also discontinued! I'd absolutely love to find something similar. Victoria's Secret really needs to completely bring back their original Garden Line!

Ah the memories. Tranquil Breezes and Peach Hyacinth were my absolute ride or die fragrances in the early 90's. I wish someone would bring them back. Peach Hyacinth was a juicy fresh floral. Bright, juicy sweet peach, with the sweet, fresh airy floral hyacinth. Incomparable. I had the whole collection. The fragrance mist, the lotion and the body wash. If Victoria's Secret ever gets out of their trashy, dead-common era and goes back to sophisticated sexy, it would be absolutely brilliant for them to bring these back! And OMG a dupe would be splendid!

My girlfriends and I in junior high went on a vs bender one time and stocked up on a bunch of little lotions. Then we sat around rating them and arguing over which suited whom the most. My fave was Honeysuckle Bloom followed by Sparkling Cassis and Tranquil Breezes (that cucumber- so crazy to us at the time!) But Peach Hyacinth is the one I truly miss. It wasn't a sweet peach, but somehow scratchy-fuzzy. Tart, but not fruity. Not having words for it is what makes me miss it. Truly unique!

I wore this all the time when my first son was born in July, 1994. I have such vivid scent memories from that time it seems like last week. How can my baby be 25? This was a beautiful, light, uplifting scent for a brand new mother during a hot Southern California summer.

This was my mom’s favorite scent and I wish I could get my hands on it. Specifically the smell of the lotion. She passed in 1999 and Mother’s Day has me all sad and nostalgic doing a search and considering an eBay buy of the perfume but I wonder if it has gone bad.
