Pear Glace

I don’t understand all the negativity here, because I absolutely love this. A perfect quick reach for a hot summer day, this smells so juicy and refreshing! I get the sharp, green pear immediately, then it’s quickly tempered by a cool, juicy melon. It smells like a fizzy, refreshing summer cocktail. Like those delicious pear martinis you can get at J. Alexander 😂 This runs in the same vein as strawberries and champagne for me (which I also LOVE) — slightly sweet, but not too sweet, fizzy, and slightly alcoholic/boozy. I understand it wont be for everyone but that’s okay... it’s definitely for me! I love it. For those saying this is sharp, it ABSOLUTELY starts off that way. But once it mellows out, that aspect disappears. I could see this lotion laying REALLY well with something like DKNY’s Be Delicious. I may try that this summer, for that early 2000s fruity fresh vibe!

I used to wear this fragrance quite a bit in my late twenties, post divorce when I went out on the town. I, too, smelled a "boozy" scent along with the sweet pear. Beer? Hops? Not sure. BUT--- Men LOVED this on me!!!! It was as if I were bathed in pheromones before I left the house. I will never forget the night a super hunky young body builder guy approached me as I was going to my car after a night out and said I smelled "Absolutely DELICIOUS!!!!" He said he had to have me right that second!! That has only happened to me one other time-- when wearing Obsession (the original by CK in the early nineties). I am sorry for the sensually-charged review but I am not kidding. Crazy! Still a fave scent of mine, but I rarely wear it. It somehow just doesn't smell the same without the hint of liquor and cigarette smoke. LOL!

I agree with MuseumGal, the best Pear! And I have done as Filigree has, layered over sesame bath oil. I had also worn this with Jovan White Musk. It goes well on me after applying Palmer`s Cocoa Butter. I have tried other Pears, and nothing beats VS Pear. It is delicious, fresh, and clean. Also has a somewhat boozy vibe to it that others have mentioned, and I find appealing. I was maid of honour in a fall wedding, and had brought an almost empty bottle and one full bottle of Pear Glace to the church where I was to dress. The bride literally snagged my full bottle ( which I gave to her, happily ) and she made it her own throughout her honeymoon in the Cayman Islands. Goes to show, it goes well whatever the season, and location. I love VS Sparkling Apple as well, and the sadly discontinued Jeweled Citrus.

I love this. I wear it a lot on really hot summer days when I don't want to wear a heavy perfume. It's super fresh and green and has a slight beer smell in the very best way. I just love it!!! It obviously doesn't last long because it's just a cheap body spray but it's so uplifting and energizing while the scent is still there! You can overspray the hell out of it and it'll still be just as enjoyable as if you only sprayed it once or twice. A nice freshie for hot summer days, running errands, going to brunch, fresh out of the shower, etc.

This is my current favorite body mist. I love how it balances a light, fun, and fresh quality with elegance! The pear is juicy and sweet, the green notes are fresh and dewy, and there is an underlying melon note that adds to the deliciousness. There are also soft florals in the background that keep this fragrance from smelling juvenile, unlike some of VS's other body mists. If you like Cucumber Melon by Bath and Body Works, but you want something that's slightly more grown up, I would strongly suggest this.

I'm embarrassed to say I have a bottle of the old formulation (mid 90s) that I kept in the bathroom and forgot about. This bottle has traveled with me throughout the different states as I moved around. It doesn't smell like the current version. It is fresh, airy with a hint of summer sweetness. I really love the original formula but based on what others have said, I have no plans to buy the new version. I'm keeping an open eye for a similar version but in designer form.

I think it's funny how preference in fragrance changes over time. When I was in high school I was DISGUSTED by this scent and I mean in the store this made me gag. But now in my 30's I love love love it. It has the smell of when you bite into a pear and it's juicy and refreshing. I don't think it's a sweet pear but definitely a fresh pear. This is so good in the summer time. Please Victoria's Secret don't ever discontinue this it's a staple in my body mist collection.

So sad this was not a more popular scent. This was my first Victoria's Secret spray back in my high school days in the early 2000s. I loved it then & I still do. It's so fresh and green, but very sweet at the same time although not too sweet. It actually smells a bit champagne-y. Like a pear soda. I really love it. I think it's quite mature & sensual. It's very refreshing for the summer. I'm happy VS still keeps this fragrance around. It's my favorite.

Pear Glace and Strawberries and Champagne where the V/S fruity seductresses of my generation (late 90s and early 2000's) they where full of scent...monster sillages and with great memories of being young and having fun. Just as the stores have pared down and many have closed so too have the quality of the fragrances and as well as the lifespan. What you could smell for a.solid 3 hours now lasts for less than 30 minutes tops.

I bought this with 6 other Victoria secret body mist. I know I've gone smell crazy! I was expecting it to be juicy pear and melon like it says on the packaging but it wasn't. At first I was disappointed but now I love how musky the pear is and I prefer it to sweet. It only lasts 2 hours but it's a body mist what do you expect! I love this a definite 10/10 for me.

This works really well on me. I get crisp pear, not overly sweet, but not bitter at all, a little bit of melon, and violet. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it, and it has decent longevity for a mist. I don't usually go for sweet fruity fragrances, I like very green florals, and aromatic citrus scents, but this is an exception!

the older bottle smells better, somehow they've changed it while they renewed the bottle :(. But I still love this scent, reminds me of highschool and my first crush. He loved this scent so much he awkwardly said he wanted to eat me! lol. I have the strawberry champagne but I love pear-glace more. It smells like fresh pear!

I really like this one, I think I've been using it for like 12 years now and it's one of my fav. It's a sweet candy smell that stays with you all day, true it's not a sexy sophisticated scent , but it's a great out of the shower clean weekend scent, plus my husband loves loves loves it on me ,so for me it's a winner

I just bought a new bottle of Pear Glacé body spray this week. It isn’t quite how I remember it. It’s very...uhm...melon-y. I get honeydew melon very strongly. It doesn’t remind me of pear anything at all. lol. This was my favorite in middle school (90’s) so I’m sad to see they changed it.

My perfume during University days. I bought it again and brings back so many good memories. I'm in a tropical country and this is perfect in our weather. I don't see a melon note but can definitely smell it. My all time victorias secret favorite.

Initial spray sometimes smells like fermenting fruit/alcohol to me, but after that the fragrance is lovely and sweet. More suited to summer and a couple of spritzes I find is more than enough if you don't want to overwhelm.

loved this when I had it a few years back. it was very strong pear, a little tart and refreshing. strong enough to cover up bad smells but not alcoholic. both the lotion and fragrance mist were great.

This has been my favorite VS scent for a long time. I always get compliments when I wear it, especially the lotion. The body spray doesn't last long on me.

crisp pear, springy, green, leafy. smells so good and refreshing and not a sweet gross sugar bomb like Be Enchanted or Pink Chiffon (yuck) :)

Love the body lotion, fragrance is too sweet

The body mist and lotion for this scent is back on the VS website to buy! I just got mine in the mail. The notes on the back say Sugared Pear, Dewy Melon, Oh La La~ I was a Pear Glace girl in high school and didn't go anywhere without my Pear Glace Lip Shine and lotion. The sweet, sugary pear smell was so addicting to me. When I saw it available again I immediately made an order, eager to relive the pear candy scent of my teenage years. Sadly either my nose has changed, my body chemistry changed or the formula has changed, because this smells like Cucumber Melon to me. Not as sharp as B&BW Cucumber Melon, but the melon still dominates on my skin. I wish the sugar and pear notes were stronger on me! This is still a pretty scent, fresh and aquatic and perfect for warmer weather- but not the sugarbomb blast from the past I was expecting.

This isn’t quite how I remember it from the '90s but I could be wrong. On first spray, there's a strong burst of alcohol, but it dissipates rather quickly. The opening is a juicy, almost boozy pear, bold and fruity. It reminds me of a pear cocktail. However, as it begins to dry down, the scent becomes much more enjoyable. Sweet, sugary notes start to emerge, softening the sharpness. After about 20 minutes, you're left with a blend of sugary pear, aloe, melon, and a touch of fresh, green floral. It’s light, clean, and perfectly suited for summer. It lasts about 2-4 hours with a generous application. If you can tolerate it, then the more you apply the better the longevity and more projection you'll get. Overall, it’s a pleasant fragrance for everyday casual wear. 4/10 Sillage 5/10 Longevity 3/10

I remember when this was new, and my WAY COOL older cousin letting us all know "it's pronounced GLOSS-AY not GLAYSE, it is FRENCH!" So of course I wanted it. If you're expecting sugary sweet, be warned. The reviewer who mentioned a grass smell below, was absolutely correct. Think juicy grass, green floral, and semisweet perfume-y pear. In the 90's, and I suppose to this day with Victoria's Secret, a singular note in the name did not necessarily mean it would be a photorealistic scent. A comparison of the concept would be Coty Vanilla Fields, which is primarily a floral scent (on a non-gourmand vanilla base.) I still think this is great, something unique you won't smell everywhere (anymore!) if you can find it on Ebay or what-have-you.

I just bought my Pear Glacé, in the tax free shop of Hania airport in Crete. All the VS body scents were in 40% discount, the regular price seems to be the same there as in Nordic countries(15,50 euro). The main notes are pear and melon - and they are very clear. This is a sweet, light summer fragrance, I only wish I had this before my holiday week in Crete! My daughter said I smell like I've poured pear cider all over me, so I guess this is a bit boozy smelling! For me, this is a very good and clear pear fragrance. Summer in a bottle. Nice mood lifter, too. Lasting power on my skin is weaker than Sheer Love, which lasts the whole day.

Can we talk about how reliable this is?? I used to use this back in high school and recently went looking for it. The reps at VS were like, "oh no, that's discontinued" with such a puzzled look. But it's still on the VS website. Bought it and the lotion. Still smells the same. Is this the greatest fragrance ever told? No. But it's reliable and smells nice. This is what you put on after your afternoon shower when you're just going to be snuggled up in bed or on the couch, hair still damp. It's just delightfully sweet & clean.

This, this was ALL over college in the middle 90s...everywhere. You couldn’t escape this stuff. I had it but never really enjoyed it like others. An intense green pear with a sudden sharpness, almost...metallic? Back then it was super strong and lasted forever. Crisp as heck. Syrupy too and very strong. I was definitely more of a Vanilla Lace girl and the now discontinued (grrr!) Peach Hyacinth and Tranquil Breezes! I will say the juice is a gorgeous green! Love green colored juice! I’ve not tried the recent reboot.

This was my very first VS fragrance back when I was a teen and when I saw it online I had the sudden urge to try it again. The formulas have changed since back then, but this is still a very familiar scent that I really like. Like the comment below says, everyone wore it in High School, and even I eventually got sick of it, but there’s been enough time where my nose can appreciate it all over again and I won’t have olfactory fatigue because it’s no longer popular.

This is a fun, light, no commitment, no surprises, refreshing fragrance. I first wore this visiting my older step-sister when I was 13. I layered it over Neutrogena's Sesame Body oil after a shower and it was the perfect combo. I have a tiny little bottle of this perfume now and use it for very casual get togethers (like a backyard BBQ) or when I want a bit of nostalgia. This is a fun fragrance.

I just got a vintage version of Pear Glace, I had to hunt it on ebay. I am so happy that I found this version, this is what I had in the late 90's when I was in High School. This is so sweet and comforting. Just sweet, juicy pear, without that dirty note or the cucumber note that appeared in some of the newer reformulations. I recommend the vintage version, nothing compares to this pear scent!

My mother loves this perfume and so I have grown up with it. There is a sweet and subtle nature that makes it pleasant and non-offensive. Some of the notes are lacking and the longevity could be better but overall I do like this fragrance and think its a good choice for women looking for a light and airy fragrance.

My high school boyfriend used to buy this for me, it made him drool & kept us busy as rabbits in the back seat of his car. That was back in the late 1990’s / early 2000’s before all things good were reformulated to death. RIP sexy old skool Pear Glacé ✌🏼🪦

Smells green. It is quite a sugary pear with Aloe to me. It is a very fresh scent, not musky to me. Though to be real I'm not a big fan of this, VS has so many better ones to use and ones that fit my vibe better, but this is good on occasion.

Light, airy and fresh. If you love pear then you will love this perfume. It isn't the best for lasting but is overall a nice and inoffensive fragrance that works wonderfully all year. I'm sad they've discontinued it.

It smells really really good very clean it isn’t my favorite though, I recommend velvet petals, velvet petals is my favorite mist from Victoria secret and Heavenly being my favorite perfume.

VS does the best pear scent. This is a surprisingly clean fruity floral, not as sweet as the usual. The pear is lovely, if you like pear this is a good one.

Although it's too sweet for me, of all VS's fragances, I think it's the most interesting I've tried. Overly simple, but at least different.

This is a review of the current reboot/relaunch whatever it should be called. It is a funny scent. If i had to be brief, i would say: Top: Cantaloupe (skin and all) Middle: Saltines Base: Aloe... That's right, i did not say pear. Or glacé. I have worn this so many times trying to discern the pear and I just don't see (smell) it at all, she left home early, she called in sick, she got desPEARate. (please don't whince, i'm sensible and i will cry). Don't know if the original incarnation was a clearer depiction, i didn't get to experience it. It's cute if you know what it is. It's disppointing if you were looking for a sweetened pear, like the name would suggest. It's a musky, grenny, curiously salty scent Lasts very little, can be worn for any occasion if you choose. Would I buy it again? Maybe when it goes on one of those 5 body mists for $15 sales that vs has rather often someday... full price, no thanks. That's it, that's the review. Now, let's go on a big ole tangent (if you wish, i'm announcing the actual review has ended so that you may stop reading if you don't care to read me ramble)*** My first contact with this fragrance was actually buying one of those "knock offs except they're legal and made by the same people that make the real deal to not just get money from economicaly solvent people but also from the struggle folk" bottles from a local dollar store. I didn't even know it was inspired on something else because I was like 17 and didn't care that much for fragrances or whatever. I just spent like 2 hours frantically googling to see if i could find anything regarding that particular clone online and what do you know? Found it! It was called "Pear Temptation", with a white gerbera printed in the front in clear reference/mockery? to when Pear Glace had a white gerbera in the bottle (she's gone through many, many makeovers). This didn't dawn on me until like a year after purchasing it lol. It was made by Jean Phillipe fragrances whom manufacture lots of dupes sold in such dollar stores across America and the world. They are an American company manufactured in China, subsidiary of Interparfums, who you likely know makes a lot of designer stuffs. Cool beans. Thinking back on it, that dupe might've very well been the catalyst for me to look into the fragrance world. Never thought about it. Weird how that goes. Anyways, the point of this tangent was to say that I actually legit enjoyed that dupe way better than the current, real Pear Glacé. "Pear Temptation" one actually made sense to be related to the word "glacé", since it was properly sweet. Shampooey, fruity. Lasted about the same as the real mist, which is like, 30 minutes or an hour. I would very literally douse myself on the stuff because of how little strenght it had. In this dupe I could actually could make out some kind of canned syrupy pear. Cute. It was a dollar for 250mL i was 17. Match made in heaven. The writing on the bottle said "Pear nectar and Blackberry", so I assume they took creative liberties, unless previous versions mentioned having blackberry? It was a teensy bit berry like. Where I live there's often Morus nigra trees in parks, and you step on them as you walk the sidewalk. It was a little reminiscent of that scent yeah. The closest thing I have found to it is Nina Ricci Les Montres Nina, but it is sweeter and a leaning a bit gourmandish. Pear Temptation was only straight fruity (oxymoron?). Anyways, I have fond memories of that cheapy 250ml tank of alcohol. And it might be the reason i'm writing crappy reviews here at this moment, nearly 10 years later. Funny! That's all.

I saw multiple people requesting this scent so I was excited to try it. I ordered the recent version of this scent. Sadly, I was disappointed and returned my bottle (as well as Strawberries & Champagne). Both smelled very synthetic to me. I am not very picky when it comes to scents - I like green, herbal, aromatic, botanical and vegetal scents. However, the scent smells like a sharp, fresh mix of aloe, camomile, and something sharp and green, perhaps a green, not sweet pear. It's nose-piercing. I do understand the jalapeno references. I'm not sure if it was meant to be in that way or whether scents didn't macerate and develop properly, but it was just too overwhelming. It reminds me of Victoria's Secret Aloe Water and Hibiscus or Melon Drench. It may be good for very hot and humid weather, nevertheless. Maybe some customers would appreciate it more than me.

I picked this up in high school and definitely overdid it at the time. Back then all scents were beasts, even body sprays. I was experimenting with VS fragrances and was totally enamored by an entire room of perfumes, body sprays, lotions and bath products at the VS in the mall. This is definitely more aromatic fresh aloe to me than fruity pear. I actually get more melon than pear but I could still distinguish it as a pear scent. Looking back VS released some fantastic body sprays, eau de toilette versions and EDPs in the late 90's and early 2000's. This one and strawberries and champagne were probably my least favorite but the rest were quality with projection and staying power. I miss that era.

Scentmojis: 🍐🍸🌱👒🍈💚 When I first spray this, there’s an alcohol / aldehyde / ozonic smell that’s quite sharp. I get the impression it’s the “glacé” part of pear glacé. I’m not a fan of it. But once that dissipates, the remaining pear smell is pleasant and green and uplifting. So this fragrance is kind of a mixed bag for me—hate the beginning, but enjoy the progression.

Smells nice and fresh up until I pick up on something sour. It’s as if a pear has gone off and started to ferment. I really wish it didn’t have that because otherwise I would have loved it!

Very clean smelling but not like cleaning products. Was expecting some sort of sweetness but there is none. I think it will be best in the hotter months.
