Seaside Surf

Wow I did not expect others to relate this to Miss Beat and Olympia too, how nice, because this is exactly what I wrote on VS's website in my review about how this would be a sweet lemony greener version of these two, but honestly a lot better and not heady or spicy. If paradise had a scent, this would be it. It is divine. The citrus yuzu is fresh fruity, slightly tart, sharp and green, but sweet like lemon blossom cuz it smells the way lemon blossom smelled when as kids we climbed up to cut fresh lemons and it might be due to the hibiscus combination. Hibiscus by VS is always a beautiful floral sweet note in body mists that I love, and here it is paired with a salty beachy vibe and the green slightly citrusy notes, so unique. So the opening is juicy lemony like yuzu, but also sugared sweet and green; the citrus with the sugar effect create a very minty and cooling effect, like mint candy or something, almost reminds me of Love Desigual (minty -orange grapefruit notes and syrupy sweetness from the praline, like a candy minty scent but no floral element there). What an amazing scent. The floral aspect is beautiful too, like fragrant white blossom flowers in spring time paired with the intoxicating hibiscus. There is also a salty floral note in it that makes it beachy-aquatic like the sea breeze, and I smell this more later on and in the drydown, it is reminiscent of the salty vibe in Olympia or Police Miss beat, but better than both, not oriental, no coconut, but so fresh. The hibiscus is realistic as it is in full bloom, like the yellow hibiscus flowers in my Greek town by the beach. The drydown is progressively sweeter, syrupy and solar, 'amber' rich like a perfume, kinda boozy-balsamic like a sugared alcoholic cocktail with mint by the beach, and it retains its unique salty, 'watery' green essence. At times it may seem slightly unisex compared to other VS mists due to the 'sharp juicy citrus' and the aquatic salty vibe, but to me it is not masculine. The drydown is like a balsamic perfume scent with the initial rich fruitiness now subdued. It is refreshing as a mist must be, but also perfumey enough for me to fall in love with it. Such a gem like the bottle's color! My new signature. In this syrupy citrusy solar and balsamic-boozy league that also has a floral perfume-y side, I regard D&G Devotion with its candied lemon that translates to lime on me, its balsamic boozy rum and the syrupy lactonic dessert tone along with the solar orange blossom, but without any minty or salty-aquatic element. Devotion is best for colder weather and spring-fall time. So Seaside Surf with the sweet juicy citrus note from the yuzu, its minty effect and a syrupy, balsamic, salty-solar base is more aquatic so perfect for the heat. Sugared citrus scents are my weakness since the sugar combined with the citrus fruit creates a balsamic sweet yet sharp effect as it does here in Seaside Surf , also in VS Tease Sugar Fleur, BBW Candy Apple Cauldron and in Ghoul Friend.

Ooh, this one surprised me. I picked up this little beauty in the sales back in January and am only just starting to appreciate it now that the sun has decided to declare war on the UK. I absolutely love fresh, aquatic scents when the weather gets hot, and this is a really good one, especially considering my fiancé snagged it for around £10. I get salty sea air, light watery florals, and a sugary citrus dry down that keeps everything feeling bright and easy to wear. It's clean, inoffensive, and has that refreshing quality that makes you want to keep sniffing your wrist throughout the day. Is it ground-breaking? Not at all. But not every summer scent needs to reinvent the wheel. Sometimes you just want something that smells like standing on a clifftop overlooking the sparkling sea, ice cold lemonade in hand, feeling the breeze in your hair while wildflowers sway around you. Simple, fresh, and perfect for those days when it's too hot to think. 🌊

this smell is so good, I absolutely love it. perfect for summer. smells like hibiscus, citrus, and it is giving sweet vibes.

The mist has a cologne style to it given its sharp citrus and marine notes. The salt note is subtle but detectable. It smells refreshing and cool. The vibe is wearing a boyfriend's t-shirt as a cover up on a beach. Some people detect a sweetness from the citrus notes, but I didn't. It lasts 3-4 hours and projects gently. The lotion is a different story. It smells sweet and strongly of hibiscus with a hint of yuzu. If you love hibiscus, the lotion is excellent. It is a stronger VS lotion and radiates out an arm's length. It melds beautifully with natural skin scent. The lotion smells sexy and sweeter, and the mist is crisp and unisex. Odd. I most enjoy this style of beachy mist: freshies with marine notes that remind me of surfing. Thus, even though it is not the best mist in the collection, it is my favorite.

really refreshing smell more girly and quirky, i dont like citrus usually but this one actually combines nice with the hibiscus and it almost makes you feel like you walked somewhere with both trees being present! really liked this one
