Vanilla Lace

I bought this body mist as a very random impulse buy. I just saw the name and as I love everything vanilla smelling, I bought it. I also own Bare Vanilla so I didn't know how it would compare to that or smell really similar and I expected so but I was wrong. I think I love how Bare Vanilla smells for an everyday wear but Vanilla Lace is what I expected BV to smell like before I first bought it. I think it's less daytime smell, still not powerful enough to be nighttime but I think this definitely has more of an "perfumey" vibe to it. Initial smell right after the smell is not that captivating but I absolutely adored how it smelled as minutes passed. It's like... smelling so nostalgic to me, as if I'm smelling a perfume my mom owned years ago. It has some coffee undertones too. I don't know how to explain this but I also feel like this smells fabric like, not in a bad way. The "Soft Cashmere" description in the back of Bare Vanilla suits Vanilla Lace more in my opinion. I'm surprised musk is not listed in notes here because I totally get musk in this, as it also says in description. Overall, I'd rate it 7.5/10 and it could've been higher if only it lasted longer like I'm not expecting an EDP longevity but it lasts 2-3 hours on me maximum.

This review is based on the NEW bottle btw. After looking online, genuinely thought I wouldn’t like it due to my dislike for coffee as well as scents labelled “mature”. But, I love! It’s interesting deep dark boozy bourbon, settled rain, musky wet antique wood, natural flooring, attics, vintage/old fashion library books with yellow pages, Harry Potter, Narnia, autumn/fall, sweet fruity, creamy vanilla, and custard creams biscuit. I definitely don’t get sunscreen vibes. As a literature girly, I can’t stop spraying! Will be buying a back up. For me, this is long lasting. Though, BEWARE: Can leave your room smelling a little bit like dusty musty moth balls. Everything I wanted Bare Vanilla to be (especially because it doesn’t smell as cheap AND actually has character). Not that ANYONE asked, but, I’ve been on a VS (and Pink) journey. So far the vanillas I recommend are: Vanilla Lace, Bare Sueded Vanilla, Bare Vanilla Bliss, Vanilla and Dreamy, Glazed Vanilla and Dreamy. The only one I didn’t like is: Bare Vanilla.

Just got my hands on this beauty. The notes on the bottle are "creamy vanilla & warm musk " and that's indeed the general idea of the scent. However, I also get something slightly floral and ambery though it's very well balanced, not overly sweet and I agree with the comments bellow saying this mainly smells like vanilla extract and white chocolate. It's one of the best vanilla fragrances I've ever smelled. It makes you feel cozy, calm and pretty. I really hope they keep bringing it back 💕

It’s a milky vanilla smell, kinda smells like white chocolate?? It’s really good but it’s just kinda a subtle smell I don’t get any nauseating notes so it’s just really good for a bed time scent. Only flaw is that it kinda smells like alcohol for 2 minutes but then settles to the creamy vanilla

a nice sweet vanilla that isnt incredibly overpowering due to the musk !! i dont get the vanilla extract scent that people said the original formula smelled like but it is still a nice powdery vanilla 🤍 definitely less desserty compared to bare vanilla imo

Pure sweet vanilla with a softness to it. Doesn’t have the woodiness that bare vanilla does and is a little sweeter. Cosy and good for layering. I do not smell sunscreen at all. Smells a little chocolatey- would be great to layer with Choco Musk

the way i loveee vanilla lace down bad needs to be studied. between her and bare vanilla i definitely reach more for her. its incredibly creamy, reminds me so much of vanilla cupcakes or sugar cookies <3

This is so good and addictive, my new favorite scent omg it smells even better than I expected, I’m not good at explaining it but it’s something like vanilla and chocolate

It has some sort of sunscreen smell at first, maybe it’s the alcohol but i don’t think so because it lasts a while, but it turns into vanilla extract which i love

I'm reviewing the 2025 Archives Edition Vanilla Lace. I haven't smelt the old one. It smells exactly like it's name. Vanilla and something sensual. The smell evokes the image of vanilla scented black lace. It's pretty sensual, I get that musk it adds deepness to the perfume that makes it sexy. I've never been a big vanilla scents fan but I really like this and definitely prefer it over Bare Vanilla which I don't like and find too basic, maybe because I've smelt it on a lot of people. As for the scent being too faint...It isn't faint at all! Maybe people who wear a lot of vanilla (many vanilla perfumes of the past years are vanilla bombs) cannot smell it anymore. The mist smells a lot and can still clearly smell it on my clothes I wore yesterday. Oh and something important! When you compare an old formulation against a new one, the old will always smell stronger because new perfumes need time to macerate. Especially vanilla perfumes, when you see they've been produced within the past couple of years, expect them to be more faint for the first at least one month after spraying. That's what I've gathered from my personal experience with perfumes. So basically any new production against the fragrance of your memories will be fainter regardless of the changes in the formula for a good while!

I'm surprised they added this as a different fragrance from the original, but also glad. Because, in all fairness, they're not the same, and no matter how much I tried to love this as much as the o.g., I failed. But this one resembles it pretty well up to a point. After the initial blast of alcohol, you get that musky vanilla scent, but then I also smell latte and cream. And prepare to overspray or add lotion/vaseline because it does. not. last. You can get a more than decent longevity if you apply the matching lotion or vaseline to the pulse points.

I bought this on the recommendation that it smells like vanilla extract, and on that, it misses the mark. Vanilla Lace is definitely a powdery vanilla, but it has this almost sunscreen-y note to it that makes it seem very beachy instead of a true vanilla. I like it for what it is, but it also needs a LOT of pumps and doesn't last very long.

I bought the one with the newest packaging. Sexy, cute girls who love beige, brown, and ivory clothes should definitely try this scent! To my nose, Bare Vanilla has a fruity scent right after put it on, but this one has a very creamy vanilla scent. It also has a sweet milky coffee scent.

really nice vanilla extract scent, unfortunately it disappears within minutes (yes I've let it macerate). such a shame

Honestly im disappointed, all these notes listed and still smells like literally nothing. I get why people say it smells creamy but is it satisfying? not really, would've been more mad if I got this for full price.

i absolutely DISLIKE this specific edition of vanilla lace. ik its probably the same but why am i only smelling smth burning? it smells like something is BURNT. and im assuming its the musk. the vanilla is soooo watered down. i smelled/tried the OG vanilla lace lotion and this VL archives edition smells nothing like it. i prob wont give this one another try

It’s very much like a straight vanilla extract! Somehow I’ve still never smelled anything quite like it, even after all of these years of being a vanilla and gourmand lover! It’s also still managed to keep its place among my most loved fragrances, probably always will! I’ve owned this stunning fragrance for over 15 years, and still love it just as much as I always have! I bought this in the mist and body butter along with both in Coconut Passion (which had just come out), and still own both in the mists. For me it has a nostalgic vibe, but in the best possible way! I should also mention that I am reviewing my OG version. I haven’t tried this new version yet to be able to comment on how they compare. I think it’s because of its simplicity that it’s so gorgeous. I also really enjoy how they didn’t add any fruity, or floral notes besides the one that reads as a delicate vanilla orchid. Adding any fruity or floral notes would have taken away from the delicious vanilla extract scent. There’s plenty of fragrances where complexity is beautiful, but this is one of the ones where you see the real beauty of simplicity. This is the gold standard for vanillas and gourmand fragrances! I honestly believe that Vanilla Lace and Pink Sugar had such a massive impact that they ended up influencing the current vanilla and gourmand trends! Whenever I bought Vanilla Lace the more translucent, clean and/or watery florals (think Coach Poppy, Coach Legacy, Marc Jacobs Mod Noir, JPG Classique X) were big at the time. However, Vanilla Lace was always popular, and so were others like Coconut Passion and Amber Romance. I saw more and more sweet gourmand scents growing from these over the years. As for Bare Vanilla, it’s pretty, but it doesn’t hold a candle to Vanilla Lace. It’s a much more woody and slightly spicy vanilla, and lacks the richness and depth that Vanilla Lace has. I get excellent performance with Vanilla Lace, especially considering that it’s a mist. The longevity is fantastic, it lasts throughout the entire day on me. The projection is strong as it radiates out several feet from me. This made it an excellent value as it still outperforms some of my perfumes. I actually think it’s one of the few fragrances that’s worth paying the higher prices for now because of how incredible it smells, and how amazingly it performs. A few of my other favorites from VS from around that time include Dream Angels Heavenly Stardust, Dream Angels Forever, Seduction Dark Orchid, Tease Temptation, and Coconut Passion. I’m so grateful they brought this back!! I hope they will keep doing this sometimes, so I would keep backing up on it! The best pure vanilla which doesn’t smell like everyone else, it’s as strong as a perfume, and they didn’t change the formula. I’m in loveeeee 🩷

so it's like reformulating the o.g and twist it with something more coffee? I haven't smell it since it's not yet available here. anyone think this is better than the og?

I prefer this from bare vanilla, it smells slightly deeper, maybe with some coffee notes. like it
